I'm having an extra scan at 32 weeks a) because it's Orkney and they like to give you lots of scans as they only have 15 births a month and I get the sense the staff are a bit bored.... and b) because of my irritable uterus / risk of prem labour - they want to check the exit is still closed and that the fluid levels are ok.

Speaking of prem labour which I have totally relaxed about since passing my wee niece's 27+3 arrival mark - I lost some clear mucus when I went to the loo in the night. This is normal in the third trimester isn't it and not a sign I should panic? The emergency midwife hasn't seen me in weeks... am sure she misses me.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/09/2012 09:10

Ahhhh am missing you all, have now moved, no broadband until next Monday, though am now back at work so can take a sneak peak.

Baby appears to have dropped today Shock

horseylady · 11/09/2012 09:42

Ya I had some extra mucus at the beginning of the third trimester. It's all calmed down again (apart from constipation but I just take lactulose!!).

Slept well last night after yoga and felt energised and still feel good this morning so pleased I went!!!

Can I ask what mattresses people have bought? Just after
recommendations!!!

Am going to start packing my basic hospital bag this week!!! Then will do the babies in a couple of weeks. I don't see much point in packing his as he'll be too small and in hospital for a while if he was born now :( fingers crossed he stays put for another 6-7 weeks!!

Catbag · 11/09/2012 09:46

This is the mattress that I bought horsey- www.johnlewis.com/231331005/Product.aspx
I'm really happy with it.

Catbag · 11/09/2012 09:49

I'll have to buy another one later on for when the twins go into separate cots, but this one will do for now. I'll definitely buy another one of these as the quality feels really good. I got both of my moses baskets' mattress from here too.

Evilwater · 11/09/2012 09:50

This is my first day of mat leave. GrinGrinGrinGrin

I feel very happy, and free.

Yippy Grin Grin Grin

WaitingForMe · 11/09/2012 09:56

Has anyone else's bump dropped? I'm 30+5 and last night baby was very low and there was loads of space under my ribs. He then shifted (painfully for me) from what felt like transverse to head down. Bump is now low, PGP evaporated and I have lower back pain.

My legs are very tightly crossed but surely it's too early for him to be getting ready Confused

FatimaLovesBread · 11/09/2012 09:58

Omg only 5 weeks EW!! That's amazing.

My pelvis (arse, hips and fanjo bone) are killing me today. Hurtin to walk and throbbing when I sit :-( and I currently have a foot in my right lung.
Oh well just counted up and I've only 27 days of work left, and I'm only working full days on 17 of them and half days on 4 so not too bad.
Us there any point going to the doctors with the SPD? I've managed to get to 30 weeks, surely I can struggle on with another 5?

Does anyone else get like bump ache like a period pain? It's hard to describe but every so often I get a period pain throb but it goes quickly

Evilwater · 11/09/2012 10:11

Fatmia,
Is it around the front of bump? Or on top? I was told it was my ligaments moving. I surpose it's the extra weight.

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/09/2012 10:21

I wonder how those little twins are doing (completely can't remember who it was that had them) does anyone know how they're getting on?

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 11/09/2012 10:32

Ten weeks of pain that could maybe be helped is. Enter than ten weeks of pain getting steadily worse fatima. Can you self refer to physio?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 11/09/2012 10:39

waiting yes me 31+6.this morning I noticed I had to do my bra up on a different hook and a colleague said I had definately dropped when she saw me today.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 11/09/2012 10:42

*better not .Enter!

YellowWellies · 11/09/2012 10:50

It was whereistheball I think who had them - my sister is chatting with her on her prem baby thread as there is a really supportive community of mums on here who have been through similar and get what she is going through. I think they are doing amazingly well considering they were so small and so early. It'll be a tough road - as prems face so many challenges which we often forget, but she seems to be being really positive. I believe she had the babies in France (think she might have been on holiday?).

StuntNun · 11/09/2012 10:56

Walking to school this morning I was telling my 9yo DS1 about that baby that was born on an aeroplane last month www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2195605/Baby-boy-born-Emirates-airplane-toilet-named-EK-airline-code.html and he immediately turned round to me and said, So you mean the baby was airborne. What a comedian.

Tits, of course not ill send you the link this afternoon when I get on the PC if that's okay?

Glad to hear whereistheball is keeping positive and hope her babies keep doing well

I went to get my bloods done this morning as I forgot about them Blush I forget everything now days! I asked when I was there if I would need any bloods doing at my MW appointment next week and if I do could I wait and have them all done together, I get in such a state and my arms bruise badly for a good 10days they said it was fine Grin so I was very pleased with that

Think I'm going to make a list of hospital bag stuff this afternoon

ValiumQueen · 11/09/2012 11:10

Well, had something from Tax Credits. £14 on a day I do not normally have a payment. No letter, so on phone to them the noo. May be an amount they owe us. That would be best case scenario. If this is the amount it will be in future then we are screwed, and not in a good way!

DH drove to his work this morning and I was not at all nervous, and did not burst into tears when we got there. Progress!

Tax folk say this is a one off payment as weekly amount increased as I am on mat leave so gave them adjusted wage for this year and childcare costs have gone down. Decision on last year has yet to be made, but at least they have my weekly entitlement to go at first if there is an overpayment. So, good news so far.

NervousAt20 · 11/09/2012 11:14

I ordered my nursing chair last night too! The last big thing we needed just need to find a changing bag and a couple more baby grows and stuff and I think we're all done and ready prays there's not something that we've forgot we'll need

horseylady · 11/09/2012 11:23

I need cot matress, Moses basket stand, baby bath and more blankets.

Oh and some toiletries for baby....

TitsalinaBumSquash · 11/09/2012 11:25

I had to change all my bedding today, I woke up with a river running down my front. Blush
DS2 exclaimed "mummy your boobies are weeing!" Grin

DonnaDoon · 11/09/2012 11:26

Hi everyone....had my broken infected molar out yesterday .....God I would rather have given birth twice on the trot....Horrendous doesn't come close....still its out now and I couldn't have waited any longer...but seriously it was so traumatic having him dig around for half hour trying to get the thing out. Feeling very sorry for myself :(

ShellyBobbs · 11/09/2012 11:28

My bump dropped dramatically about a week and a half a go for a couple of days then went back to normal, I wouldn't worry about it, it's just baby shifting about. I've also had all colours of mucus / discharge, even had some blood in a blob last week - yuck! I'm getting lots of pressure pain too which is nice not.

Am extremely knackered today, like beyond tired! Have had a cut and blow at the local college this morning so that's my 6 monthly treat to myself, just got shitty housework to do, I'll get the kids from school and then dive in bed when hubby comes home. Really don't think that the antibiotics have done anything as my wee smells the same (sorry, but it does) so will have to traipse back to the quacks again sometime this week if I can actually get an appointment to see him.

Had some strange dreams last night. I was at a Roman bath and was the only person there who could dive in and actually swim, everybody was amazed (it was set in the Roman times too), but I just kept thinking, 'this is really minging water, full of body fluids'.

DonnaDoon · 11/09/2012 11:30

Stunt your ds is very funny

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/09/2012 11:43

stunt lol at your ds!

Glad to hear whereistheball is doing well, didn't realise she had them on hol, I'm guessing they're still in France then the babies must be too small to leave yet.

I really really want a nursing chair but don't have the room for it :(

MissMummy1 · 11/09/2012 11:47

We still have the carseat, base and cot, pram and moses basket mattresses to buy and a posh changing bag if I get my way. DH refusing to buy and big items this month as his mother is alledgedly sending vouchers - will believe it when I see it. A bit pissed off because he's just spent £300 on a new nav toy for his boat and is now crying poverty. He's conveniently forgotten he said he'd take car of taxing the cars this month too, grr Angry. My dad and stepmum are buying a cotbed mattress so that's one less thing as well.

Is anyone else finding themselves unreasobably emotional? DH and I were quite intimate this morning for the first time in months, and midway through I burst into tears for no reason Sad. Safe to say we didn't make it to the 'main event' Blush. Poor man, I'd have left me ages ago...
