Mmm sounds delicious. I went for tea and hoola hoops (boring)

We had sooo many visitors last time! It was my own fault really, I planned people to come every day so didn't have a day without somebody round-even just or half an hour. It got a bit draining, hence the change of tact this time!

Not sure whether to wake DH or leave him sleeping... These pains are getting closer together but not any more painful. No show, no waters.... Feeling a bit dramatic Blush

Bear1984 · 24/09/2012 01:07

Maybe call a midwife and see what she suggests? Have you tried having a bath?

DP just made salmon with soy, ginger and chilli sauce and the smell makes me gag. Bless him, he feels terrible as usually I like that kind of thing but urgh lol.

newtonupontheheath · 24/09/2012 01:14

Haven't had a bath as it'll possibly wake ds and DH (in that order...)

MW said to ring when I was getting 2 or more every 10 minutes... Last labour had v irregular contractions so she told me not to bother timing each one.

I think it is something but at the same time, it doesn't seem painful enough just yet...

I'm having some pineapple to see if that helps!!

And salmon would make me at the best I times unless I was really really in the mood for it.

I'm actually quite enjoying the peace and quiet in my house at this time of night! Grin

Bear1984 · 24/09/2012 01:22

Definitely make the most of the quiet then! :) hopefully the pineapple will help and it'll kick in in the next couple of hours? Try and rest and relax as much as you can.

I've been having tightenings on and off since Friday and it's driving me mad. I just want it to either go away or develop to something.

newtonupontheheath · 24/09/2012 01:29

Going to watch the rest of this episode of ER and try going back to bed.

And try not to suffocate DH for snoring Grin

Bear1984 · 24/09/2012 01:36

Lol I'm always tempted when DP starts. I have a few times punched him in the arm or pushed him over cos I've lost my rag with him Blush lol. Hope you manage to get some sleep and things progress for you.

newtonupontheheath · 24/09/2012 01:39

Great.

This woman on ER just went into labour... Her waters broke and I bet when it comes back after the adverts she's having the baby.

what a cow

Thanks bear Hope you manage to get some sleep at some point! Smile

Bear1984 · 24/09/2012 01:42

Lol! How typical! And thanks, me too. Might go read in a bit as DP's watching something about ufos Hmm

MakeTeaNotWar · 24/09/2012 03:17

I'm awake! Go newton! Another baby coming!!!

Bubblebell1 · 24/09/2012 03:32

Woohoooo go newton GrinGrin

Thumbwitch · 24/09/2012 04:07

Exciting stuff! What's going on Newton - have you gone to sleep now? Has it all tailed off or has it all kicked off? [bounces]

elvislives2012 · 24/09/2012 04:57

Ooh good luck Newton!! Another one awake at a random time so will keep an eye out whilst stuffing my face with biscuits

Still bloody here Angry

Decided to try and go to bed... Out like a light and have just woken up.

Contractions have disappeared completely. Grrr!!! I knew it wasn't hurting enough!

DS is off out to my mums this morning so Smile

MissPollysTrolleyed · 24/09/2012 06:53

Fantastic news about Pinpan.

Newton, how annoying that things have tailed off. You are obviously well into your latent stage of labour though so hopefully last night's contractions will have been doing lots of nice dilation work.

Is there a full moon or was everyone just waiting for the weather to turn rubbish to go into labour?

Meanwhile, anyone else with a toddler still suffering bump abuse? My DS has a favourite trick of leaping up in the air, lifting his legs and then jumping down on his bum in a sitting position. He usually does this on the sofa or bed but did it on my bump twice yesterday when we were having stories on the floor. I'm now paranoid thinking that movement has been slower overnight so am putting a can of coke in the freezer and will have a few gulps of that shortly to see if there's a good response.

Finally, stupid question: I have a nice new baby blanket and would like to wash it in Woolite so it's nice and soft for baby. Is Woolite okay or must I use non-bio?

newtonupontheheath · 24/09/2012 07:18

First things first misspolly ... I dont know anything about washing wool Grin

My bump gets looked after by ds, who likes to hug and stroke. I take my abuse verbally.... In the bath last night, "ah, mummy... Mummy's tummy" (gets sponge). "car wash??" I mean, I know I'm big but.... Sad car wash?!?!?!?? Grin

I daren't tell DH about last night... He really (really really) doesn't want to go to work today. I'm hoping I can surprise him with a phone call later-he'd love the drama Wink

LoopyLa · 24/09/2012 07:20

Oh wow, congrats to pinpan!!

And hoping you have 'proper' labour soon newton! In the meantime, do try & rest xx

Hooray for Pinpan's new baby girl!! Lovely.

Newton, sorry yours went away again - that happened to me with DS as well, got all excited, went to sleep and woke up - nothing. Ended up being induced but that means nothing. Grin

My wriggler is the only one abusing me, from inside! Still turning all the time, still sideways on, driving me crazy! DS did bash me once by accident but it hurt so much, he's never done it again (but then he's nearly 5 so a bit more able to understand).

Bear1984 · 24/09/2012 09:13

Sorry it's stopped newton. How frustrating!

I'm in a bad mood this morning. I have a really sharp pain in my back on the left side. Baby is kicking me hard. The cat lately keeps pooing on the kitchen floor which is driving me mad as I'm not suppose to deal with that so have had to get DP up. He's now sat with me but I'd rather be on my own and keep telling him to go back to bed but he won't so that's irritating me too. May just get the chocolate and ice cream back out again... Lol.

Bear1984 · 24/09/2012 10:37

Also at the risk of jinxing myself, I've been having contractions every 10 minutes for over an hour now. DP's freaking out but I've said to him that it could lead to nothing. I have an appointment with GP at 12 as she has student midwives in so they're going to use me as a practice so least I can mention what's been happening and see what she thinks. But at the moment I refuse to get my hopes up. Will explain the back pain though lol.

newtonupontheheath · 24/09/2012 10:45

Ssssssshhhhhhh Bear the baby will hear you..... Wink

Ew to cat poo. Our old cat used to be sick a lot... Not the same, but still horrible. The "hunt" is the worst part IMO Grin

Thanks for the support Team October have some Flowers and a Brew and a Biscuit

Bear1984 · 24/09/2012 10:58

Lol newton. I'm watching Undercover Boss USA and just started crying and DP started panicking some more lol.

I think we may buy a new litter tray as we had to look after my sister's kitten for a long weekend whilst she was away on holiday and our cat really disliked her so I've noticed she's been avoiding it when we're not about since.

Littleplasticpeople · 24/09/2012 11:08

Great news about Pinpan Smile

Never mind Newton, maybe tonight...

I had BH for about three hours yesterday afternoon and was incredibly crampy and uncomfortable, but then they stopped & nothing since! I've just been in to ds' school to listen to some readers, and arranged to do the same next Monday. I'm seriously hoping I won't be able to make that though!!

LoopyLa · 24/09/2012 12:14

Gizzy I said to my DH yesterday that as soon as I start maternity leave (2weeks!!!), I'm going to start filling the fridge with 'contraband' items - pate, smoked salmon & lots & lots & lots of lovely wine!! Grin

I also look forward to wearing a pair of skinny jeans (ok, so maybe not immediately) & heels! I bought 2 pairs of gorgeous peep-toes at the beginning of the year and haven't yet worn them! Shock

And although, yes we will have a newborn, squealy baby but also going to bed without pain, turning over in bed without having to simultaneously stop my legs cramping, keep hold of the pillows between my legs and not disturb the bloody duvet so much that it comes off DH!!

What is everyone else looking forward to?

NB - I shall, however, miss my bump dreadfully as love, love, love the movements - even when it causes me discomfort Grin
