Lol maketea. I've just been for a walk which has given me lower back pain as I think that's the most I have walked for a long time. Was only down the road and back.

I bet my baby will come on Saturday as that's when we have the wedding which is a two hours drive so I know it'll be Sod's law and will come when I don't want him to!

Thumbwitch · 23/09/2012 00:17

Honestly, I go to bed and it all kicks off!! two more on the way? Good luck hetty and gizzy - hope it really is happening for you! :)

Well I'm still here, eating custard creams Grin

As predicted everything tailed off and I now I just have that heavy crampy periody feeling.

Hope pinpan and hetty have had more luck.

RnB · 23/09/2012 07:48

Crampy is still good! Fingers crossed xx

goodsenseofdirection · 23/09/2012 08:40

Thanks for the custard creams gizzy hope those cramps turn into proper contractions soon.

hetty good luck, hope all is going well! Grin Grin

CaptainHetty · 23/09/2012 08:50

No baby here yet, but been contracting - definitely real ones, forgot how much they hurt Hmm - all night and had a very (TMI!) gunky show in the early hours. Leaking something still but not sure if it's waters or not! Will be calling labour ward if it carries on this morning.

Hope you're all well and we have more babies today!
x

LoopyLa · 23/09/2012 09:13

Morning Ladies Smile

I actually didn't sleep too badly last night (first time in months) and think I had more than 4/5 hours so feel more human today. It means I must stop fannying around and do 1) my birthplan 2) pack my hospital bag. Yes indeedy?

Don?t know why I?ve not done either of the above yet, I?m usually such an organised person. I think it?s because half my head is still very ?work? focussed (2 weeks to go!!) so trying to wrap things up there & keeping fingers crossed baby doesn?t appear at 37weeks (day after I finish work Grin!)

Saw in-laws yesterday & it?ll probably be the last time before baby arrives so tried to be as blunt but gentle as possible when it came to them talking about visiting us when baby has arrived ? I?m sure it did not sink in at all! Hmm

So excited at potential imminent arrivals!! Please keep us updated if poss & GOOD LUCK! Smile

LoopyLa · 23/09/2012 09:25

Hetty how are you? have you got a pad on? The midwife who showed us round the ward on Tuesday said it would be helpful for when labour ward ask you the colour of your waters, etc...

isheisnthe · 23/09/2012 09:27

Hello all, been an age sine I was on here but I have been lurking, to be honest the 2 threads confused me a bit! Am 37 + 4 today, and still at work... Was going to try and work until 5th October (due date 10th) as I wanted to have the summer hols off next year with my older boys, not sure I will be able to though. Bit of a bummer as they have only just recruited the person to back fill my role and her department will only release her for 2 days next week, I wanted to do a. Really comprehensive handover as my job can be a bit complicated, but I have to remind myself that this their bad planning that will leave them in the shit, they've known I was pregnant for an eternity and dragged their heals advertising for a secondment... Moan moan moan.

GizzyBoo · 23/09/2012 13:37

Hi ishe. Have no idea how you are still managing to work. I would be out of there asap and leave them to it Grin

isheisnthe · 23/09/2012 14:30

Very tempted to gizzyboo! Just did the weekly food shop, my 2 year old was squealing (in fun, not badness!) at my 8 year old and this horrid old fart snapped shutup at him! I had to stare at him in fury, and tell him quite firmly that he was in Asda, not the ritz, nor was he in waitrose or m&s, h was in an asda on a Sunday, don't like kids....online shop! Asssshole :-(

My poor back is broken, I'm cold, soaked, demoralised and aching. I just want to go to bed. Am still irrationally angry!

HeyMicky · 23/09/2012 14:39

Afternoon ladies. How very exciting - so much activity! Good luck Pinpan and Hetty, and come on LittleGizzy!

Sending virtual curries to everyone still waiting Smile

This time last Sunday I was doing the happy epidural dance - cannot believe it has been a week already! Has actually been a great week (jinxes it) - hope yours are all as easy

MissPollysTrolleyed · 23/09/2012 14:47

Grin at your retort to the old fart ishe. Well done. He'll never cross a very pregnant woman again!

Great to hear you've had a good week HeyMicky. It looks like you'll have some more additions to your end of the list very soon. Good luck Pinpan, KPT and Hetty. Things are really getting very exciting on here.

I have 10 days to my due date and not feeling very due at all so I suspect we'll be on to a new thread by the time my baba is on the outside. That's okay with me. I am not ready yet and baby is under strict instructions to stay put for at least a week.

Bear1984 · 23/09/2012 16:44

I have a very unrelaxed baby today. He keeps moving about and making me really uncomfortable and putting a lot of pressure on my pelvis. He was engaged this morning, but has decided to move again since. Very frustrating! Go back to sleep little baby! Lol.

ishe can't believe him, but well done at your response. Hope he felt ashamed of himself! Hope you feel a bit better now. And can't believe you're still working! Well done you!

Micky glad to hear all is well :)

Loopy my mum said to me the other day that she'll try not to come round too much when baby is here, but I know what she's like, and I'm sure she'll be knocking on our door every day for a cuddle. I've also found all my organisational skills have gone out the window since I've been pregnant lol.

goodsenseofdirection · 23/09/2012 17:16

loopy I've had the same conversation with DP about MIL. But to no avail - she booked her flight in APRIL for a week arriving on 4 November... without asking before she booked. Angry I am not happy about this at all - it's way too long for her to be staying when the baby will be so tiny. And if baby arrives overdue it'll be even worse. I have asked DP to ask her to stay elsewhere - hopefully at his brother's and give us some space when we need it. Thank goodness he feels the same. I know she's just excited but I was so upset that she didn't ask in advance... really trying not to make it into an issue as I don't want to create issues with actually rather nice MIL!! (oops sorry for the rant!) Hope you can sort it out with your MIL!

micky glad you've had a good week :)

ishe it is their fault they haven't arranged a proper handover - i'd just do the best handover notes I could and go when you need to. Better to rest before the baby arrives if you need to!

and still thinking of kpt pinpan and hetty

GizzyBoo · 23/09/2012 18:32

My parents are coming to stay for 10 days from the 20th October but they have rented a holiday cottage down the road from us!
The hubster did suggest they stay here with us but after I had come round and picked myself up off the floor I suggested that might not be such a good idea Grin
I can't wait to have them here but 24/7 for 10 days would have just about killed me!

I am having liver for my dinner. I know its on the "bad" list but I don't care. Its just what I fancy. I am also gonna have the glass of wine I didn't have last night.

newtonupontheheath · 23/09/2012 20:03

Just settling down with my (very very small single glass sized) bottle of red too Gizzy Thanks for the inspiration Smile

Although we did forget milk at our jaunt to the supermarket because I was hunting for wine Grin

The inlaws have been over this afternoon. That was fun Hmm luckily a 40 minute drive is close enough for a day visit, but far enough for it to need to be arranged in advance Grin

The only person coming to stay after this baby is born is my best Uni friend (mainly because she lives so far away!) She came to stay after ds was born and it was great! We use to live together so she's not really a "guest" more of a woman servant Grin

newtonupontheheath · 23/09/2012 20:08

On the subject of visitors.... What is everybody planning on doing once baby is born?

It's DS's birthday on the 6th of October which is a Saturday so I'm hoping to have a bit of an open house for birthday visits and baby visits and then enjoy peace and quiet in the days before/ after....

Daydreaming....moi?!

newtonupontheheath · 23/09/2012 23:39

Don't want to jinx myself but I am feeling very crampy..... Backache into tops of my legs and v tight bump.

Have been to bed but can't sleep so posting on here to keep track of how I am feeling...

It's probably nothing!!!

newtonupontheheath · 24/09/2012 00:02

I think these are maybe proper contractions...
About every 10 minutes
They're not very strong....

newtonupontheheath · 24/09/2012 00:56

Still here.... Getting a bit rocky and having a bounce on my ball...

Where ARE you all??

Bear1984 · 24/09/2012 00:57

Ooo newton fingers crossed for you too! It's all happening! Come on my turn lol. How are you feeling?

As for visitors for us, we're hoping our best friend will stay with us soon as she's a birth partner. We know DP's dad will be jumping in a cab the minute I'm going into the hospital lol. But not planning on having too many visitors.

I was in bed about 2 hours ago. Now I'm up eating cinnamon ice cream, galaxy counters and drinking pineapple juice lol
