That is a lovely dress misslaughalot it will be suitable for other occasions too, and will cover any possible swelling that may happen.

StuntNun · 01/08/2012 18:17

Didn't make it through so I'm six months pregnant and redundant. Bloody great.

Oh bugger stunt clearly they have no taste! So very sorry.

misslaughalot · 01/08/2012 18:55

So sorry stuntnun! What a situation. Do you at least get a half decent payoff?

Passmethecrisps · 01/08/2012 19:05

Aw stunt that is so bloody crap. I am so sorry. You will have given it your all but it could hardly have seemed like a level playing field. What are your options now?

daisychain76 · 01/08/2012 19:17

Rotten news Stunt. It might be worth getting some legal advice quickly - a lot of firms do an initial consultation for free - to see if you have any sort of claim as the deadlines for making employment claims are quite tight.

Thanks for the help re nappies valium.

ShellyBobbs · 01/08/2012 19:25

Stunt Sorry it's bad news, but hope you wipe the floor with them now at the tribunal.

misslaughalot Lovely dress :)

FatimaLovesBread · 01/08/2012 19:26

Oh poo Stuntnun That's crap Sad

On a slightly more random note, can anyone recommend some not too expensive maternity bras that come in a E/F cup?

horseylady · 01/08/2012 19:34

Stunt big hugs so sorry to hear that. Not sure what you do job wise but when do you finish? Is your pay out enough? Can you speak to citizens advice about where to go.

StuntNun · 01/08/2012 19:35

Fatima I got some from Mothercare pretty cheap. They're not great but they'll do for a few months until I need nursing bras.

I have an 'alternatives to redundancy' meeting tomorrow which I'm pretty sure will not provide any real alternatives. I have asked whether the company can make a goodwill gesture and still pay my enhanced maternity pay but I'm pretty sure they will say no as they have no legal obligation to do so. The next step would be pre-claim conciliation in which I ask the Labour Relations agency to mediate with the company before I request an employment tribunal.

It's pretty awful to get treated so shabbily by a company that I've spent four years working my arse off for. I really expected better of them but that's the corporate world for you. At least I have a pretty good case since they have left three positions vacant rather than move me into them BUT I have four good appraisals for the past four years and a letter stating that they were considering me for promotion in June. That doesn't add up to 'not competent to do these jobs that are almost exactly the same as her old job'.

I really thought the interview went well but apparently I didn't make the pass mark.

Stunt that horrible.

Fatima I'm an E and bought some Emma Jane nursing and maternity bras which were £10 each. They are very stretchy and comfy and can be used for nursing once baby's here. They fit B-F cups which I didn't believe but they are fab!

I had another physio appt today and have come away on crutches due to SPD! Great!

Lilliana · 01/08/2012 20:06

So sorry StuntNun after what you said about positive letters/appraisals I was sure you would be ok as they wouldn't dare get rid of a pg lady with such a strong case. Hope that it gets sorted quickly and you are ok financially xx

Izzy sorry to hear about the crutches and hope the physio helped

Chunkychicken · 01/08/2012 20:25

That sucks big time stunt they clearly are very stupid!!! Angry :(

Izzy any chance you could link to the bras? I need some more as my E cups from DD seem to be a bit 'snug' now... As for the crutches, that's bad news, so sorry :(

Brockle · 01/08/2012 20:47

stunt that is horrible but you are right about the corporate world. I don't trust my employer as fast as I can throw them. I hope you get a lot more out of then than they are offering.

izzy I really feel for you. I moan and groan all day but nowhere near bad enough for crutches. Rest when you can and if you haven't already try a gym ball. I love mine, it really helps xx

Evilwater · 01/08/2012 20:59

Stun nun- OMG. I really can't believe it, I'm sending you good thoughts.

Today looked like a day that I was going to get a load of the baby stuff washed, at 10 it rained cats and dogs. So I've manged to wash one load of baby stuff.

Looking at the baby clothing I've bought tidy boxes. I really don't want to search the cupboard for that smitten. Plus my DP only has to place it in the right box, not fold it away on some pile.

I got a cot today (second hand) it is a white one for £25. I think it's a cheap one, but at least I have one. Just a mattress to go and some sheets. I also have to get the baby monitor, changeing mat and sort out the curtains.
I'm so happy that finally getting stuff sorted, it's a huge weight off my mind.
Is this my nesting kicking in?

Evil

Passmethecrisps · 01/08/2012 21:02

Bras do's a tenner? Nice one! I got three maternity bras from Debenhams. Two in a pack for about £15 and one pretty one for £15. That was in a sale though. Annoyingly, as soon as I bought them I grew again. I could easily go up another cup size. I think I will try getting extenders to see if that eases the four-bosom look I am currently sporting.

Lovely visit from the parents and sister today. Sister is exactly 2 weeks behind me - babies are like busses it appears. Mum treated us both to some lovely unisex things in the boots sale. I prefer the bright colours and sister prefers creams. Lots of creams but not so much in the bright colours. Some times I feel like caving in and going for a gender scan. However, there are so many more things to spend £100 on!

blonderthanred · 01/08/2012 21:05

Bloody hell that is awful Stunt. Sorry to hear it. Makes me so angry when companies treat people badly.

Passmethecrisps · 01/08/2012 21:06

Evil that's a great deal. I am sure it will be great.

We are starting to get purchases done now as well. I was also wondering about nesting. I am such an untidy mare normally (it even featured in my wedding vows) but recently I have been much more diligent about wiping down surfaces and putting things away.

Evilwater · 01/08/2012 21:17

I've got my second hand bottles in Milton soaking.

Catbag · 01/08/2012 21:23

At the risk of sounding v. dim, what is SPD? Seems to affecting a lot of people :/

horseylady · 01/08/2012 21:26

Pass we sound so similar lol

Sophiathesnowfairy · 01/08/2012 21:31

stunt what a rubbish day. It sounds like you have good plan though, it does all seem a bit contradictory and odd. Enjoy a wallow tonight then go get them tomorrow.

Big hugs.

Xx
