Hello allchanges welcome to MN. We are due on the same day Smile

The other thread is now full, so we can now chat freely.

cacacaz spill! What bargain? Do tell!

My two LL nappies took forever to dry, but are there now, so just waiting for little bum to come home from nursery. The other ones are still very damp indeed.

mrswee · 31/07/2012 15:46

Hi allchanges welcome, this is the right place!

carrying on from the last thread...Thanks for your support over the really terrible twos! I thought they were bad at 18 months and then worse at 2 but now at 2.5 she has developed real and extreme anger too. I think she gets it from me! oh dear

Oh I love the bugaboo donkey, want want want! I hate my phil and teds and I'm sick of my Bee cause it's a bit broken where the hood slots in and has a squeeky wheel!.. I can't justify it though.. mind you there is the resale value.. still I don't have the cash!

Hope my neighbour was in the get my LL nappies parcel cause I wasn't!.. after all your excitement I don't want to miss out tonight!

StuntNun · 31/07/2012 15:52

Welcome AllChange you must be at six months already then?

Pass thanks for the tip, I've already been to see the manager to ask whether they can make a goodwill gesture regarding the enhanced maternity pay but I still have one interview tomorrow before I know for sure whether I'm out. I'm already expecting to have to go to an employment tribunal so I'm trying to make my position as strong as possible. Five of us are left without positions in the new department structure but they now have two vacancies that they are trying to fill externally which is completely gutting - they would rather have nobody in the position than keep me on! This is despite the fact that I have received positive appraisals for the past four years, performance related bonuses and I have a letter stating that they were considering me for promotion in June. And now I'm suddenly not good enough for then. It's really strange.

Lane sorry to hear you're going through this too, I hope you get a good redundancy package. Mine's not bad, I'll not be that much worse off financially but if I'm out of a job I'll have no hope of moving house or even remortgaging the house I'm in now.

The flight socks are still keeping the swollen ankles at bay, I'll definitely get a few more pairs.

Welcome allchange how is your pregnancy going so far?

Thanks valium for using up the last thread Grin

DonnaDoon · 31/07/2012 15:59

Huge laugh out loud to Valium you do seem to have OCD x

mrswee · 31/07/2012 16:01

stuntnun what a nightmare, you don't work in the newspaper industry do you? that's the sort for rubbish they pull over jobs!

My changes that are happening at my work which essentially keep me in a job that would otherwise be made redundant, are being delayed so it seems. It's making me very uneasy that there's no official promises have been made and we have no real news or facts during the third week of what is supposed to be a 3 week consultation into the changes. I hope they don't abandon it because I could be out of a job at the same time as my mat leave starts if that happens.

applepieinthesky · 31/07/2012 16:05

There I was wondering why the other thread was so quiet Blush

Welcome allchanges

Lilliana · 31/07/2012 16:11

Missed the end of the last thread as have had a bug which has had me vomiting every 40 mins for 6 hours :( Dh was lovely though as the first attack caught me unawares and ended up blocking the sink which he then manfully unblocked while I hugged the toilet - sorry TMI!

Anyway slowly starting to feel human again and trying to catch up.

Sorry to hear about potential redundency issues StuntNun and Lane, SN it sounds like they thought you were wonderful a few months back and the only thing that seems to have changed is the fact you are pg Hmm they need to be very careful. Hope all goes well for you (or you get to hang them out to dry!)

Welcome Allchange this is the right place.

I'll also be using disposables - any brands that people reccommend?

Baby has be having some huge kicks the last couple of days so at least he/she don't seem to have been bothered by the sickness.

ValiumQueen · 31/07/2012 16:17

mrsW why do you hate your PnT?

ValiumQueen · 31/07/2012 16:20

lilianna Aldi nappies are good quality and good value, especially in the smaller sizes. I will be getting a few until the meconium is all passes, and I am in a swing with the washables.

gardenpixies32 · 31/07/2012 16:22

Not sure if I am misunderstanding the thread title or not. But I think we are all 6 or 7 months pregnant.

This is a good explanation of weeks, months and trimesters in pregnancy...

26weeks is 6 months. I am 26+5 and due on 1/11, so most of us will be approaching the 6 month mark. Nobody will be 7 months yet. If so, they are on the wrong thread Grin

Being in your 6th month is different to being 6 months pregnant. We are coming out of our 6th month into our 7 th, but I am only just 6 months pregnant. I think people like to add a month to feel as if they are nearer, and get more sympathy or help.

applepieinthesky · 31/07/2012 16:34

I didn?t think I?m 6 months yet Confused I?m 24+4 so not 26 weeks until next Friday. 3 months prior to my due date is 16th of August.

Although Sainsbury?s baby club sent me an email last week or the week before saying I?m 6 months pregnant Hmm

applepieinthesky · 31/07/2012 16:36

I suspect you are right Valium Grin So my baby was conceived at the end of February and I was already a month pregnant? I don?t think that?s right somehow.

Blimey, shiny new thread already!

Have had the nesting thing again today, I'm completely doing the kids head in with it, it's like I've got ants in my pants, also still can't get enough fruit down my gullet, it's all very strange and so unlike me, I was scrubbing the bathroom floor on my hands and knees this morning, that's never happened before Grin

ValiumQueen · 31/07/2012 16:43

The pregnancy dates back to your last period, so about two weeks before you conceived. That is just how they calculate it, then at 12week scan, the date can move a bit due to actual size of the baby as at that gestation they grow and develop at a very standard rate. Some conceive earlier or later in the month.

FatimaLovesBread · 31/07/2012 16:45

DH21 that pram in black and red is £30 cheaper on the Asda website.

GTBaby I have a 20% off maxi cosi car seats voucher you can use on boots online, I've used the code once but you could see if it still works? Our cabriofix worked out at £65 with the voucher, offers and boots points

ValiumQueen · 31/07/2012 16:47

I thought you could only use points for Boots if they covered the complete cost?

Passmethecrisps · 31/07/2012 16:55

Nice work finishing the thread valium.

Welcome allchanges. How have thing been so far?

Re the nappies, we are going to to a bit of both. Apparently our council is participating in a nappy recycling scheme so we can more easily use a combination of reusables and disposables. I already feel that I am washing enough loads of washing to clothe a family of 6 never mind the two of us. I can't work out why.

kissyfur · 31/07/2012 16:56

Welcome allchange Smile

Just marking my place, and valium think you're right about the boots points

valium I hate the phil and teds because I find it so clunky and really heavy to push with just on toddler in. If I didnt live on flight up then I might not hate it as much. I am spoiled with the bugaboo bee which is super light for buzzing around town and on and off buses ( I don't drive)
I once tried to go up town on a bus with the P&T and I just found it a nightmare, barely fitted on a bus and was hard work in shops and shop door ways and on steps.
I tried to pump up the tires the other day as I heard it makes it lighter and they were quite flat... it was a PITA, they kept deflating as soon as unscrewed the pump.. argh

No really though the main thing is that is is so heavy. It's sport2, I think they make lighter ones these days.
