kissyfur Totally :/

MissMummy1 · 31/07/2012 20:45

kissyfur I have just had a rant with him indoors about exactly the same thing! He's on leave this week and we move tomorrow. I was working this morning then spent the rest of the day packing boxes (still not done). All the while he sat on his arse ploughing through his drink cupboard - clearly not realising i meant use up stuff that can't come with us! - promised to cook tea but couldn't be bothered and then moaned when I had the audacity to burn it! I don't do stress very well and right now I wish he'd just feck off to the pub!!!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 31/07/2012 20:49

I dunno about popping first, all mine have been 3 weeks early which mean this little fella could arrive anywhere after 19th Oct Grin

applepieinthesky · 31/07/2012 21:05

I don't want mine coming too early but 2-3 weeks would be ok. A halloween baby would be cool.

I hesitated handing in my letter about mat leave dates so have decided to mull it over this evening and hand in tomorrow. Think I'll be leaving at 35 weeks but that includes taking 11 days holiday first so mat leave won't start until nearly 37 weeks. What is everyone else doing?

I keep thinking perhaps 35 weeks is too early. What if he's two weeks late? I'll be going stir crazy. On the other hand I feel completely knackered now and I don't even have a huge bump yet.

gardenpixies32 · 31/07/2012 21:10

Consultant has said to have my hospital bag packed from 28-30 weeks and to expect my little ones in October, I am guessing around the 15th if I don't have a section. Shitting myself.

Evilwater · 31/07/2012 21:14

Apple, a Halloween baby in my faith is means the baby is special. It means the baby is in for good life. I'm hoping to keep my legs crossed.

Evil

applepieinthesky · 31/07/2012 21:17

That's really not far off now gardenpixies Exciting and terrifying at the same time.

I have been scaring myself silly watching childbirth videos online Grin Perhaps not a great idea. I have also ordered a book I saw recommended on another thread called Childbirth Without Fear. Has anyone read it? I'll let you know how I get on with it.

ValiumQueen · 31/07/2012 21:18

I already have a Halloween outfit for my boy. Pumpkin. Cute. Bought it about 4years ago from a charity shop. Just in case.

Nappy is still on bum, bum is in air. No damp patches visible yet. Red wrap tonight. 6yo wants to go back in nappies. I said no.

FatimaLovesBread · 31/07/2012 21:23

apple I'll be finishing at 36 weeks with two weeks holiday, then may leave at 38 weeks. I'll have about a week holiday left so will be doing 3/4 day weeks for the month running up to it.
I was worried about being late and getting bored but seeing as they've said I'll be induced at 40 weeks I don't think I will. I'm hoping it comes around 38/39 weeks Smile

I started a thread about books so I'll be ordering one or two

horseylady · 31/07/2012 21:27

Bump is huge tonight!!! Vq lol at that comment!!

I have dosed myself up and hope to sleep tonight!! Fingers crossed my voice returns!!

I'm def becoming tidier. Finding it quite bizarre!!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 31/07/2012 21:30

I really want a Halloween baby! Think how easy birthday party planning will be Grin

ValiumQueen · 31/07/2012 21:33

Good point tits you would never be stuck for a theme. I have an April baby so eggs figure quite highly in party bags.

applepieinthesky · 31/07/2012 21:37

Anyone watching the programme on bbc2 now?

ValiumQueen · 31/07/2012 21:40

No, watching Dexter. I do like my serial killers. What is on BBC2 then?

applepieinthesky · 31/07/2012 21:44

Its called The Midwives. A new 6 part series. A bit like One born every minute.

ValiumQueen · 31/07/2012 21:51

Blood and gore as well then Grin

Catbag · 31/07/2012 22:04

GardenPixie Are you expecting twins too? That's what my consultant told me too. My last set tried to put in an appearance at 33 weeks, but that was 10 years ago and they pumped me full of drugs for 10 days to prevent the labour while the steroids they gave me had time to work. My midwife tells me nowadays they'll prob give me steroids around 29/30 weeks as a precaution, but then will be very relaxed after that as to when they're born. My mother in law has cleared her diary from mid September onwards, just in case, whereas DH is convinced they're not going to appear until I'm 38 weeks! Best not be 38 weeks. I'm going to be doing a Mr Creosote impression by that point, if the current size of my bump is anything to go by :s

Passmethecrisps · 31/07/2012 22:12

Midwives programme was a sob-fest. Two couples who's previous babies had died and a soundtrack of Elbow. Runny nosed wreck now

Dixiebell · 31/07/2012 22:18

My due date is 27 nov, my birthday is on 17th. I don't want to share my birthday with him! So would like him to be perfectly on time...DS was a week late, but induced 48 hrs after my waters broke.

Chunkychicken · 31/07/2012 22:25

Anyone else struggling with clumsiness and forgetfulness?

I forgot to go to my pg yoga tonight, despite being emailed about it yesterday!! I am furious with myself... I'm also fed up with dropping things, especially as I broke a lovely mug when I dropped it whilst washing up. Despite feeling generally well, much less achy than with DD and not too tired etc, I'm really pissed off with these pg symptoms right now. I feel so stupid & like such a clumsy oaf Angry :(

applepieinthesky · 31/07/2012 22:37

Sob-fest indeed

Peaky1 · 31/07/2012 22:45

I'm due on halloween! Originally I thought it was 6th Nov but that changed on my 12 week scan.

Fatima - where did you get the boots 20% discount code from? That's a great saving for the car seat! I do keep forgetting about the points bonus when shopping at boots as it always seems more expensive. Perhaps not!

I'm still off work with this labyrinthitis. Hoping to be back to normal next week.

I had a lot of holiday leave still to take so I have taken 2 weeks mat leave before due date, 2 weeks annual leave before that and I used the 5 days I STILL had left over to go down to a 4 day working week for 5 weeks. So, I only have 3 weeks left of full time work Shock

applepieinthesky · 31/07/2012 22:53

I've got two days off next week for the Olympics...if I can figure out how to get there that is. I've got a week off in September for center parcs then only three weeks left at work after that. 10 weeks Friday. Not that I'm counting down or anything Grin

capedcrusader25 · 31/07/2012 22:59

I'm finishing at 35 weeks, I think I've said before but it's an 8 week 1/2 term going back and a possible Ofsted. My job is mental enough and just don't think I can last til the half term really which is when I'll be 38 weeks. But like someone's said before you can go off at 29 weeks for a reason :) It just sucks a bit as as we haven't got much money at the moment I won't be able to take as long after the birth. But we'll see how it goes! You never know what's around the corner. I've avoided the Midwife programme, anything to do with poorly babies sets me into panic mode :(

TheDetective · 01/08/2012 00:27

I started painting the nursery tonight. It looks shit. Blush

Not sure where I've gone wrong, I'm not a novice at this decorating lark by any means!!

I'm painting all the walls in white first - was magnolia (matt paint), and have started with white silk. It looks splodgy, and shit, and not covering well. I bought a paint pad to use, having used them before and preferring them to rollers. Pad was a pain to load, and the tin said it covered 32sqM, so why on earth have I used an entire tin on one and a half walls (that equals 6m coverage!!!!)

God damn it. If I have to get a decorator in, i'll cry!!!

In other news, no let up at work, ankles taking a lot of pressure now! Got cramp while painting, in my foot, and it was so bad I was crying and hollering in pain! It just wouldn't go! I had my foot in and out of cold and warm water, all kinds of stupid things to get it to go, but it was there to stay! Took 20 mins to get rid! I so didn't contemplate going to a&e Grin

They can do epidurals at home, right?!! ;) wimp

I bought this snowsuit today, after saying I wasn't going to get one! Saw it, couldn't resist, its so soft and snuggly!

As for dates - I'm hoping to go over, I want this baby after 7th, but before 10th. Short window huh ;) Due on 3rd - our 3rd year anniversary - but my birthday is 4th! Don't want to share my birthday, and would like to have the evening out for my birthday as will be the last one for a while ;) Don't want an October baby, just because I want a November one like me! Also don't want it too late after my birthday, so I can take 2 weeks off and have both our birthdays in that same time! Always book the week off starting on Halloween, as it includes my birthday, and bonfire night too! Love that time of year!! Also start the christmas shopping, so all in all, I'm going with a wish for those dates. Really, I don't mind, but you know, if it wishes to make mummy happy ;)

I was holding out for after the 18th, so I could squeeze Twilight in too, but by then, I think i'd be going a bit stir crazy, and worrying if I was 15 days over, and I don't want to have to get to that part of the birth plan!! I'll just sling the baby under my coat, and go anyway!! Grin

My mat leave starts 5th Nov, annual leave starts 3rd October, will probably work 2 weeks of it for extra ££! So I guess i'll be working to 37+ weeks!
