I have them in labelled drawers. The baby clothes that is, in different sizes.

WaitingForMe · 10/08/2012 14:37

Thanks Catbag. I'm not hugely worried as I'm sure I've felt him move. I think Gary Barlow's daughter has just unnerved me.

ValiumQueen · 10/08/2012 14:38

I felt sick, but had mine at 14 weeks. It will be likely to be nearly lunch time when you eat. Take something to eat the second you can. Like a twit I forgot and had to drive for 45 mins as had forgotten purse too. Drink varies according to health authority. Hope you do not get the sludge.

ValiumQueen · 10/08/2012 14:42

That is amazing garden chances are I would be much better off with just one Mindee. My concern is that mindees come and go, so I could be without any income. If DH gets a permanent contract, I will consider it. Is the training expensive? How long does it need to prepare everything? Sorry for the questions Blush

applepieinthesky · 10/08/2012 14:47

I couldn?t even read the stories about Gary Barlow?s daughter Sad

ValiumQueen · 10/08/2012 14:50

Some idiot of BB a couple of years back has been tweeting nasties to the Barlows too. How anyone could do that I do not know.

CandyPop · 10/08/2012 14:51

Ah how weird! I had exactly the same concerns yesterday! Baby quite , guzzled 2 cans of coke still nothing happeneded and then that night she went a little loopy and came back with a vengeance ! She's gOne quiet again today.....maybe it's normal around this stage? I'm 26 weeks 2mo....

ValiumQueen · 10/08/2012 14:55

They sleep a lot at this stage, lulled by our activity. When we rest, they wake up. I find mine wakes up to light. Just expose tum to sunlight and he starts moving quite quickly. Especially if you put something on your tum, like a mobile, so there is an outline to aim at.

TheDetective · 10/08/2012 14:56

I'm in a right strop :( I feel so angry and damn hormonal and can't seem to get out of it. I'm going to have a nap in a minute. Like a tired toddler sleeping their tantrum off Hmm

I had my 28 week appt this morning. Midwife forgot to check my BP and I felt rude to remind her, so didn't. Didn't plot fundal height or feral heart. I'm concerned that this baby is measuring small. It really needs to be plotted as my last (first) measurement was significantly reduced and under 10th percentile.

To add insult to injury she told me they would only be on call for me from 38 weeks to 41+5. I can't believe I had to argue that full term is 37 weeks ffs!! It doesn't matter anyway, if they don't sort their arse out it will only give them problems if I labour under 38 weeks (unlikely but not impossible). And I'm not going in just because I'm 'over due'. I've told them this. They have my birth plan. Strop strop strop. God damn it. Being a midwife is no use at times like this to be honest.

After this appt I've stropped back home to find DP here. He went to work after the appt, and apparently his work called him as he got out his car and said he didn't need to come in as they didn't need him. It's his contracted day, he was already there. He doesn't get paid if he doesn't work. So why the absolute fuck did he just say 'oh, ok' and turn ar

TheDetective · 10/08/2012 15:02

Stupid effing phone...

Around and come home? It's not like we don't need the money. It's not like I'm working extra hours through my annual leave to make sure we have enough money to get by. It's not as if I'll be working past 37 weeks in a busy and stressful job on my feet all day long just so I can support myself as well as DP and DS during maternity leave.

Nooooooo... Not at all. Prick.

Sorry but I feel it's the height of selfishness. He needs to grow a pair of bollocks and stop letting his work pull shit like this. They have done it enough times. And I've told him what to do but he doesn't listen (or care??) He has a partner and child to support. But he can't put us first??

What if we'd paid for childcare today? So he would of been happy to be out of pocket? Or wasted time dropping DS at grandparents which is a 17 mile round trip not to mention petrol.

Narghhhhhhhh.

I know in the grand scheme it doesn't matter. But I want to whinge :(

MissMummy1 · 10/08/2012 15:12

Dickhead ex landlord has just phoned DH demanding 2 grand for factoring charges. We lived there 6 months and they were meant to be included in rent. He's offshore so chances are I'll have to deal with the cow. She's also demanding apartment back tonight - although we moved out last week the lease doesnt officially run out until 1st sept and I'm damned if I'm giving it to her early! Last time I went to apartment there were a whole load of fake threatening solicitor letters from her "solicitor" (hand delivered, pigeon english, unsigned, threatening me they would use force to break in. ...) Thank god she doesn't have my new address.

Chunkychicken · 10/08/2012 15:16

I daren't weigh myself today as I am probably going to have gained LOADS but meh... I gained loads with DD & lost it all pretty quickly. I will revel in my tubbiness for now!!!

My DD has exactly the same grey-green eyes that I do - including the brown ring around the pupil & the dark grey-blue ring around the iris. It's really weird as my DH has brown eyes. She has lighter hair than my natural chestnut brown & darker than my DH's blond hair, so its like the 2 colours have merged to make an in-between one. Other than that, she is pretty much a mini-me, so hair colour is the only sign that DH is in there anywhere!! Although her personality is closer to DH's, despite showing she has my temper at times.Blush

Baby had a very quiet day on Wed, which worried me (I posted about it) but I think s/he was very tired after a very active day responding to the music & cheering at the hockey on Tues!! I also noticed that although I could feel 'movement' of sorts yesterday, it wasn't kicking as such, because baby was positioned towards the back. I can tell when baby has bum/head up or out, but the great hard lump there!! :)

I will be SO glad when our garage is fixed & I can actually have a 3rd bedroom/nursery to decorate. I will finally be able to get things organised.

10wks today until maternity leave = 21 'proper' working days!! Grin

Chunkychicken · 10/08/2012 15:21

That's totally understandable Detective and so frustrating when it feels like your DP doesn't seem to remember he has others to support. Ny DH needs reminding at times too - its like "Hello!! Do you think this bump is just pie??!!"

And MissMummy what a stupid cow??!!!

WaitingForMe · 10/08/2012 15:52

Well Valium I just went and sat in the garden and exposed my belly to the sun. Nothing but I'm now hot and grumpy. Time for icecream I think.

ValiumQueen · 10/08/2012 15:53

Rant away detective can I distract you with a question please? If term is from 37 weeks, why will they not give an ELCS at 37 weeks? I have been told it is because of breathing, but surely if there are potential difficulties prior to 39 weeks, why is 37 weeks called term?

missMummy not nice! I firmly believe what goes around comes around. Her next tenant may not be as good as you.

ValiumQueen · 10/08/2012 15:56

Sorry waiting hopefully ice cream will spur the little rascal into action.

Why oh why did I choose today to put DD2 in washables all day? She has the sodding runs! Aargh! Teeth I think. She is so grumpy! No leaks though.

applepieinthesky · 10/08/2012 16:32

That?s what we?re here for detective Surely if they are his contracted hours and they?ve sent him home then they have to pay him?

I need a little rant as well. My parents are pissing me off big time with how they buy my brother anything he wants. When I was his age I was studying for my A-levels five days a week and had two jobs. I had to pay for everything myself. He on the other hand goes to college a measly two days a week, has no interest in getting a job and gets everything bought for him. And I mean everything. He has had two holidays this year including one to America, he has now decided he wants an iPad because I?ve got one so they?re buying one for him and right now they are out looking at a 3 grand car!

I am probably being unreasonable as it is their money to spend as they wish but it is starting to get to me. Perhaps it?s highlighted by the fact that I?m struggling so much at the moment and will do for the foreseeable future while I?m on maternity leave. They are good with me and will lend me money if I need it but I have to pay every penny back and have done since I left school at 16. I probably need to grow up but I could scream right now.

applepieinthesky · 10/08/2012 16:44

Oh they reckon they are only lending him the money for his car. He is getting about 4 grand when he?s 18 because he got compensation for an accident he had when he was little. But he has already told me all the things he is buying when he gets it including holidays abroad so I really can?t see him paying them back and they will just accept it.

The funny thing is I really need to change my car because it?s a complete pile of shit. But when I dropped hints a few months ago about them lending me money for a new one, just for a matter of weeks until I could sell mine, the answer was no.

And breathe

gardenpixies32 · 10/08/2012 16:45

Parents of the children I childmind have been so lovely and generous with gifts today. I have received 100 pounds in John Lewis vouchers and 150 in Mothercare vouchers. I am really touched by their thoughtfulness. I will be going shopping tomorrow!

Valium I will send you a private email about the childminding. I don't want to bore everyone on here with it.

NervousAt20 · 10/08/2012 16:50

Glad your feeling better desperate Smile

stunt from our 4D scan it looks like she has my button nose and frown Grin can't wait to meet her though, hope she has lots of DPs looks and characteristics

candy I couldnt agree with you more! I'm 5ft 2 and 1/2 and the half is important and makes a huge difference!! Grin I stopped weighing myself when I hit a stone and think I'll just wait until closer to the end to see what damage Mr White Kitkat has done to me

It still feels like ages left but some of you saying 70 days and things is like Shock!! I remember when we were saying things like 7w today and that doesn't seem long ago!

missmummy she sounds like an absolute nightmare! I hope the next tenants she gets give her hell!! Grin

This bloody heat!!! Im dying, had another nightmare shit day at work just like yday! I can't be bothered! My back and hips are killing me again and my bumps starting to ache too! Deffinatly going to cut down on the over time, doing about 30 extra hours a week because I want everything ready or allthe money in place for little one by the end of aug and trying to put some away for Christmas and bills but can't do this for another 2/3 weeks, whenever I have a day off I've got a list as long as my arms to do so I never get 5 min to just sit! Very fed up

horseylady · 10/08/2012 17:09

No complaints here :) sorry you're having days!!

Detective sounds like my visit!! Apple I was gobsmacked at how one of my colleagues is treated by her patents well the differences (money and support wise) between siblings. Very odd. My parents have always been very very fair!!

Waiting fingers crossed for movement someone told me the heat can make them less active in the day?! I've not had that Im kicked a lot one day, then he sleeps the next lol today is a busy day!! Today I have feet under my ribs. It's bizzare!!

Nervous - I'm thinking about dropping the hours at my other job but will see how I go.

Also I have low iron. They're running more tests to check my iron reserves or something to then give me a prescription for iron tablets?! I'm hoping my energy levels will improve more once I have them. Maybe.

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/08/2012 17:19

Had a good time at the beach but it is NOT relaxing with a 2 year old! He was in and out of other peoples beach huts, running off etc although on the whole he was pretty good, just doesn't sit still.

NervousAt20 · 10/08/2012 17:28

I'm trying to make the most of doing the hours now and having the extra money is very nice but I think the OT and extra days are just too much

For the first time since I've been pregnant I had a nice dream last night! Baby was here and healthy and me, DP and little one were all cuddle and I was feeding her and it just felt so happy Smile roll on November

ValiumQueen · 10/08/2012 17:33

Thank you garden

ValiumQueen · 10/08/2012 18:21

Looks as if they have found the body of the 12yo girl, and are looking for the step-grandfather. Sometimes I wonder what world we are bringing these little ones into. RIP Tia Thanks
