I think this is the first time I've ever started a brooking thread! Shock

Hello brookers! I'm MNing from my phone in the bath Blush so apologies if I miss anything pertinent but I can't scroll back.

little I'm glad you're managing with the antibiotics, I hope the rest of the day's doses went as smoothly :)

Olives where do you get underwired nursing bras? Do tell :o

Yay for an early scan boo but what a shame dh couldn't be there.

All this potty talk sounds like hard work!

Nothing to report here! Have spent the day tidying and playing lego batman on dh's ps3 and tomorrow I'm going for a talk on cloth nappies (though we've got boxes of pampers for the first few weeks for ease). Hope everyone else is having a lovely time too :) Oh and I bought jars for making spiced apple chutney later this week too.

Ooo symptoms tock, how exciting :) I'd love to take some weight off in the local pool but it's been closed for months for a refurb :( Glad you got your ring sorted in the end!

Princesslovelyboo · 18/09/2012 18:33

Hiya, I put off toilet training toddly boo until he was absolutely ready and he was clean and dry during the day fairly quickly, now we are trying to do night time was so not brave enough to do it together and it is going really badly, he is not waking up when he is wet :( he just sleeps in/through it :( any advice??

Hope the anti b's are going better now.

You would have thought 3rd time I would know what I was doing, but honestly this is the worst I have felt, not actually sick, but so nauseous, dizzy and very very tired. Still, 5 more weeks and it will pass - I brook no argument!!!!!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 18/09/2012 18:49

Does anyone have experience with carpet cleaners? I've been looking at vaxes on ebay (you can get small ones for about £50) but I also noticed that those new steam floor cleaners are supposed to do carpets and, having never used either, I'm not sure what to plumb for? I posted in housekeeping but nobody has replied!

Hope you feel better soon boo :)

Hello brookers!
Stacks great bump photos :)
little so sorry to hear of your poorly little un, no tips from me but sounds like you have got it nailed now.
boo great news on the scan, sorry that dh missed it, my dh had to miss a couple of early scans but he found the 12 and 20 week ones amazing.
Who is next to pop? I think it must be fluff and then me? Off to dig out the stats thread!
All well here, I am getting huge, retaining a lot of water, could not get my rings on this morning. I am beginning to get some finger and wrist joint pain now as well which looks like carpal tunnel from my googling and also seems linked to water retention. My legs have indentations in the evening from where I have taken my boots off! Any tips?

farfallarocks · 19/09/2012 10:33

Oooh fluff we had our carpets steam cleaned, just a warning if your sense of smell is in overdrive, there was a lingering wet dog smell for a few days, it really bothered me and I was not even pregnant! I see the nesting instinct kicking in for you though? I have got the window cleaner round for Saturday!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 19/09/2012 12:59

I'm usually rather slovenly but I'm nesting big time - I even got the feather duster out yesterday, and today I've been cleaning out drawers in our bedroom! It's infuriating that I can only do an hour at a time and then need to sit down for a bit!

I get puffy hands and sore fingers but only if I've been walking a lot - I find moving the joints lots eases the stiffness (knitting) :) How long do you have left now? cakes and I are both due in 2 1/2 weeks (eek)

ha ha, nesting combined with being tired!
I forgot about cakes, hello, how are you getting on?
I have 6 weeks to go. I am feeling really stroppy and bad tempered as well, gah!! Maybe I will take up knitting!
Lord knows what I will be like if I go overdue!

CheerfulYank · 19/09/2012 16:44

I have graduated! Our first month of trying Shock ! I'm almost 5 weeks, so very early days yet.

Princesslovelyboo · 19/09/2012 17:22

Oh Froot that is awful, Mr boo was also laid off just before I found out I was preggo :( Pleased little froot was having a lovely wriggle for you. Brooking for Mr Froot and his job.

I can't remember, does the tiredness go soon, actually had to have a nap today Shock

Welcome Yank nice to see you here in graduates.

clickingtock · 19/09/2012 17:46

Far you were really sweet about my grumpiness a while back so I'm giving you licence to grumpy away yourself. You are v of now so probably knackered. Hugs.

And hugs to loopz re job. Brooking.

Enjoy the nests and rests you late pgers.

Welcome to newbies.

X

GreenOlives · 19/09/2012 17:55

Just a quickie as I'm cooking dinner!
Fluff Hotmilk and Bravado are apparently good for underwired nursing bras. Good work with the nesting!

Yank Welcome to grads - congratulations Thanks

Froot Yay for scan! Fingers crossed that the power of brooking will help with MrFroot's job too, please try not to stress too much about it.

Waves to everyone else. x

BartletForTeamGB · 19/09/2012 18:16

Early anomaly scan and fetal echo done yesterday afternoon - everything is going really well and looks very good, so feeling quite relieved. The 20 week scan has been cancelled as it is next week and my scans will be repeated at 22-23 weeks. If I've made it through all that, then my consultant will then consider discharging me from consultant care and I can have a nice boring uneventful pregnancy!

Sorry to hear about froot's DH. Hope he gets it sorted out but that must be a worry for you.

Yank, congratulations! You were told that being a Brooker guaranteed a BFP one way or another and we were proved right! Smile

far, how on earth do you only have 6 weeks to go? Everyone else's pregnancies seem to fly by whereas my ones go sooooo slooooooowly!

TheLittleFriend · 19/09/2012 18:44

frootz what a shame that your great scan news has been ruined by your dh's work. Brooking that it resolves itself

Great to see far Smile

Congrats and welcome yank

More great news from you bartlet, so happy for you Smile

Thanks for all the advice about dd's med. we're currently swapping between endless patience and mixing it with milkshake! She seems much better though

Typically I am now full of cold, (affirming my suspicions that her tonsillitis is viral, so the med isn't doing anything anyway ConfusedHmm)

I'm looking so much bigger than I did at this point with dd. how about my tripe whammy pals, green & bartlet? Or is it just me Grin

RubberBullets · 19/09/2012 18:56

I've developed a theory on BFPs. When AF returned for me, Boo got a BFP. Someone else can't remember who had AF return last week and now Yank gets one. Coincidence?

Princesslovelyboo · 19/09/2012 19:04

So by your theory Rubber AF has a quota to fill, and when she can't get the rat smackers she starts picking off the graduates??

scarletfingernail · 19/09/2012 19:22

It was me Rubber who had the return AF from hell last week.

Congratulations Yank on the BFP. More successful brooking yay!

Bartlet that's wonderful news, I'm so happy for you.

Pleased to hear your DD is on the mend Little

Can't believe you only have 6 weeks left Far Shock

cakes82 · 19/09/2012 20:19

Congrats to all on good scans and Yank with BFP.
Time does seem to have gone so quick this year in general!

I'm 38 weeks on Friday, all well here baby under instructions to stay put until at least Monday so I can get my birthday celebrations and visitors sorted first Smile As it happens I also have my 38wk mw appt Monday so that could make life easier for everyone lol, going to do second half of birth plan as ran out of time to complete it at 36wk appt. I think the BH are ramping up a little or baby engaging a bit more not really sure, bump is getting gradually lower.

I don't seem to have the nesting instinct as yet just done the normal stuff I would have done if at home for long enough.

GreenOlives · 19/09/2012 22:02

Brilliant news Bartlet! Grin
Little I am mahoosive compared to last time - I look properly pregnant so you are not alone!

whimsicalname · 20/09/2012 00:02

Evening all. Just nipping in. Have my obstetrician registration tomorrow. They don't ask when you think you're due or nuffin. They ask for proof of income. Note to self: America is a foreign country.

Will report back tomorrow!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 20/09/2012 10:01

Oh froot that?s shit. If he starts looking for a new job now, though, he might be able to find something before the baby comes? Brooking for you both.

Ooo 6 weeks far not long!! When are you finishing work? I?ve found I?m much easier to live with now I?ve finished and I?m not so knackered and stressed Blush Have you got everything ready?

Congratulations Yank :)

Thanks Olives I?ll have a look on their website!

Yay Bartlet that?s excellent news!

I?m glad DD is feeling better little - I hope you don?t catch it too badly!

How exciting cakes :) I've not had any BH but apparently neither did my mum or sister. I'm super uncomfortable though - I feel like I'm going to burst if she grows any more! Shock :o

I'm 38w on Saturday and have a MW appt on the Tuesday (38+3); I'm going to see about going back at 39w for a sweep as per the consultant's suggestion (well she said 38w, but if it's a choice of having one there and then or waiting til 40+3 (she only seems to work Tuesdays??), I'd rather wait)

OP posts:
FluffyJawsOfDoom · 20/09/2012 10:02

Good luck Whims - Shock at the proof of income!

farfallarocks · 20/09/2012 12:14

Congrats yank always good to have another PSEPP!
froot that really is such bad timing, did the friend in high up places have any idea why they wanted him out? Seems a bit odd and they ought to tread carefully in terms of how they address this discliplinary issue. I really hope that at least this gives him some time to look for a new job. Thinking of you!
Whim I would like to say I am suprised but I am not at all, I think Stacks skipped the country following an emergency op in the US but I may be wrong!
fluff I am trying to work to the bitter end so 38 weeks to try and maximise time with the little un the other end, I am leaving a bit early though as I am just so tired but also gettingin early due to preggo insomnia. I also am trying to get everything shaped up as best I can, I hate to leave my team in the lurch but still, if it becomes impossible I might have to rethink my end date. I am effectively self employed so its up to me when I stop/start.

Big John Lewis delivery arrives next weekend and then we will get the room ready, also start NCT this weekend!
Good luck with the sweep, I think you are right about 38 weeks, I doubt it will do anything anyway if its that early.

Cakes have a wonderful birthday!
bartlett fab news on the early anomaly, we are brooking no argument that all continues to go well for you.

farfallarocks · 20/09/2012 12:15

Oh and Tock thanks for indulging me, feeling a lot less grumpy today, took it really easy last night and had a lovely warm bath and early night.
Think that might be the way forward!
