Arf at selling it on ebay :o

The appointment's next Saturday. Dh is saying I shouldn't have it because he's worried it'll give me and baby flu Hmm You wouldn't believe he was a mental health nurse... :o

Happy Birthday Little

GreenOlives · 13/09/2012 21:41

Happy birthday Little! Thanks

whimsicalname · 13/09/2012 22:20

Happy birthday little. It's my wedding anniversary today, so I'm off to get drunk too. Oh no, I'm going to have a takeaway.

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 14/09/2012 09:05

Happy birthday little! Did you have a nice time? Whims what did you get? :d

clickingtock · 14/09/2012 09:24

Happy birthday Little and happy anniversary Whims.

Engagement ring still not quite right, oh dear. More from DP's pov than mine.

Has everyone else got the largest norgs - aka knockers, baps and bazookers - in the world today?

Nope not I - my norkage has only gone up 1 size during my whole pregnancy - albeit from f to ff - I think dh was mildly disappointed :o

What's up with your ring tock?

OP posts:
clickingtock · 14/09/2012 13:32

Shock Your DH should be shouting off the rooftops every day with glee Fluff. He hardly needed more exciting norks than he had already pre-pg. Actually, I think it's more my nips that have expanded a lot, giving a rather luscious OTT appearance to what were a bit dainty and uninteresting before Grin. Size change not that noticeable here either.

Hello Froot - enjoying the boobage or mildly shocked at yourself?

Ring fiasco: I asked jeweller to bin white gold claw setting for the rock (was quite scary; worried about bairns getting scratched/eyes taken out). Now has rose gold 'Bezel'. It makes it look 'clunkier' in DP's words. He liked his 'Tiffany claw' - also his words. Also we now have two types of gold (I don't like yellow gold at all so went for rose for new setting) as well as a diamond so looks like various bits of different jewellery jammed together. I think we can plate the yellow gold so it looks one piece of rose gold with a diamond. Crazy really as it's costing silly money but somehow I didn't want to make DP sell his choice of ring and start all over again. If he'd just tried to work out what I liked first instead of buying on the internet. God knows he had long enough to try to find out. I don't have any gold jewellery and have never liked it on my skin colour. Bless him; he usually gets these things right. And also - it's pretty daft as I'm already an old bag as it is and only going to get older so it really doesn't matter that much but somehow I just didn't like the ring how it was... Gah.

cakes82 · 14/09/2012 16:24

My dh has been quite pleased by the nork increase. so far A to B, which although not that big a jump seems to look noticeable and possibly next bra needing to be a D! Although as yet I am uncertain if this is correct lol

Hope you get ring sorted tock

ReturnOfTheMunx · 15/09/2012 04:18

Morning ladies!

Sorry it has taken me so long to update you all, DS is 8 days old now Grin

I had a pretty good birth after all, was induced early due to reduced fetal movements and other niggles. Contractions started and DS born 9 hours later. Only had gas and air and no stitches. While still painful, was manageable and nice and calm in the midwives unit rather than labour ward. A very different experience to DD's birth!

Bf going well so far but taking each day as it comes. Have a vey supportive community MW who checks in every day.

DS has a healthy appetite and that helps too.

DD adjusting well......loves her baby bro....so far anyway!

Hope everyody doing well!

BartletForTeamGB · 15/09/2012 10:02

Well done, Munx. That sounds great about your supportive MW.

I'm having to get the bigger bras out too now. Pre-DS, I was a D cup, went up to GG while BFing, and settled back down to F, so who knows what will happen this time...?

tock, will we get to see a photo of the ring?

DS & I went to see the MW yesterday, so we got to hear the baby's HB, so that was exciting.

TheLittleFriend · 15/09/2012 21:41

Great to hear all is well with you and ds munx

All of a sudden I'm feeling loads of movement from the bump, it's very exciting. It started partying after dd went to bed - hope it doesn't after it's born Wink

Good luck Frootz - so exciting.

Munx - how lovely for you; good luck with the bfing.

Bartlett - good strong heartbeat is fab to hear isn't it? I hear ours again on Fri at checkup.

Little - seem to think you're about 16wks is that right? Enjoy the gentle kicks before they get a bit feisty. Smile

Yes - ring back for a few tweaks then will get photo up. DP was v good at getting jeweller to adjust, and just paying for it to be plated all in rose gold. Will be lovely after all. Grin

Looking forward to tri3. Can anyone explain purpose of wk28 bloods - just to check iron levels etc?

Waves to all and lots of berries etc from our allotment, keep up the vit levels... xxx

itsMYNutella · 16/09/2012 22:14

Oh no Tock my next appointment is (in three weeks) the 28 week check... I hate it when they take blood :( they took lots at the last check up because they also did a GTT (which came back fine :))

Best of luck with the scan Froot I remember just being amazed at seeing the baby move... And now the bloomin thing gives me a good kick at bedtime while it re-arranges itself :

Congrats on the new DS munx. Great to hear your good experience.

Speaking of boobs: I picked up a new bra yesterday morning (needed a black one to wear under a black dress for a wedding :o) and popped into a local maternity wear shop which have been very helpful and friendly previously.
She asked my size and how they've changed while pregnant, and how long I have left. Mine have sort of got harder and fuller rather than going up a size (although back size has gone up)... She handed me two. Tried them both on and the first one was awesome (I'm still a woman who needs to try on more than one thing).
It's a bravado, anyone else heard of them? It is so cosy! But feels supportive like an underwired bray. So happy! It's a bit like a sports bra.
I had a previously horrible maternity bra shopping experience (for those that don't know, I'm in Germany, in some ways it's about 20 years behind the UK) so am happy, supported, comfortable and thrilled! :)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 17/09/2012 08:23

Good luck froot and yay for hearing the heartbeat bartlet, I love that bit :)

tock my 28w bloods checked my iron and rechecked my blood group which the mw said was standard (plus then my thyroid).

So chuffed for you nutella - a good bra is a godsend! I've bought a cheap nursing bra 2 sizes bigger than on current bra and will go to bravissimo once my milk's in hopefully with my ma so they can help hoik the pram onto the train

Today's task is ironing and taking up the curtains for baby's room, with a break in the middle for coffee and cake with a friend. God i love maternity leave. Feeling a bit guilty as dh is working himself into the ground atm but keep reminding myself that the past few months have been really gruelling and I deserve some time off before the baby comes.

And I can't believe you're tri3 tock! It brings a tear to my eye to remember you almost stopped ttc after a bit of a rollercoaster year, and look at you now! Positively blooming :)

Must go, looks like the she-beast has awoken for some milk. Hope all you lovelies are well and blooming?

ReturnOfTheMunx · 17/09/2012 10:57

Hiya

Have updated stats (sort of)

Hope weather nice with you, lovely here!

Stacks · 17/09/2012 11:45

Munx sounds like a nice positive birth story. I'm a bit scared of inductions as they always seem to be hard work on TV. So it's really nice to hear of one going well. Also, well done on the BF - how long do you get support from the MW for, and did you have to ask for that specially? I'd like to know it'd be there as an option for me too.

I've not really changed bras since getting pg, though my brest size has noticably increased. I got measured, twice, a couple of months apart, and they just said I was the same size as pre-pg. I know I'm not - you can see it and feel it, and DH definately likes it. I've not been measured in the last few weeks though, so maybe I'll go along again and see.

Little It's lovely when you start getting lots of definate movement, I used to just sit and smile feeling it, content not to do anything else. I still do sometimes, wondering what he's doing in there that requires quite so much bouncing. LO has less space now at 28w (I think) so his movements have felt more like twists and turns than kicks. I still get the occasional wallop though :)

Froot good luck with your scan, it's wonderful getting to see them for the first time. I was amazed at how human our bean seemed - he did a big stretch and turn over after the sonographer woke him up.

Tock I've got my 28w appointment on Thurs, I'll ask about the bloods then. I'm also wondering if they'll offer me a GTT test, I've been having lots of sugar in this pg, and am thirsty all the time. As the only thing I drink is watered down fruit juice, this has meant I can't really cut down on the sugar intake.

Fluff do you have much left to do in the nursery now? You should definately be enjoying your time off, you worked really hard and deserve a rest before the baby! No guilt allowed, ok? :)

Ninja I hope DD is doing well.

I'm doing ok, got my hair cut at the weekend, it's a big change but I like it. Have a backache and sore neck today in work, so looking forward to home time already. This morning is passing so slowly :(

TheLittleFriend · 17/09/2012 12:08

frootz good luck and enjoy your scan. I'm 17+4 now and have felt movement for about a week and a half. Was a bit later with dd though Smile

fluff enjoy the nursery prep. When we finished dds I used to just go in to look at it quite regularly Blush

stacks hope your back improves soon

Good to see you ninja

tock glad you'll get the ring you want Smile

I've got dd at home instead of preschool today as her temp was over 39 most of yesterday and still was when she woke crying at 5 this morning.Sad she is cooler and happier now though Smile

clickingtock · 17/09/2012 12:13

Will write to all soon - still got til early Oct to qualify for tri3 Fluff, so at least another 3 weeks, but thanks for your lovely thoughts - yes, it was a crap year but my determination fixed up DP and here we are. Have a lovely coffee and cake, save some for the rest of us. Grin Envy

clickingtock · 17/09/2012 12:14

Oh and btw at least 3 people to whom I have recommended acupuncture (2 RLers and 1 MNer) are now pg and pretty much out of tri1!!! The power of brooking no argument wins again.....
