Congrats bakeroo lucky you on your due date, gorgeous name. And I bet your loving the cuddles. Hope your recovering well.

I've my fingers crossed mine will come tomorrow on due date fat chance I'm sure but here's hoping..

winky still getting movements so I'm not too worried at the min.. Just thought I'd ask others. Though right now he's going nuts and moving loads.

I wish I could take/do all the things people suggest but there's no chance of me and the Oh getting it on, way too sore down there and as for raspberry leaf tea I can't drink. It's horrible tasting. Though I do keep trying now I've managed to find some..

WinterMymble · 03/09/2012 06:51

Congrats Bakeroo on prompt little Evie! Beautiful name :)

WinterMymble · 03/09/2012 06:53

Rachel I had the itching feet thing - to a really fierce extent, drove me mad with scratching - and the midwife said I had to tell her urgently ince there is a TINY chance it might be obstetric choleostasis. it probably isn't anything (mine was fine) but it is worth telling them anyway since they seem to like to check it out. :)

I coped by putting my feet in a bucket of very cold water... painful but did sometimes reduce the itching to as manageable level. Hard to explain to someone else quite how maddening the itch can be when it is severe!

leelteloo · 03/09/2012 07:13

Congratulations Bakeroo, is yours the first water birth on the thread, I think so and the 1st to arrive right on time. Welcome baby Evie. Grin

ballroomblitz · 03/09/2012 07:25

Congratulations Bakeroo and well done Evie for arriving right slap, bang on her due date.

TinkerMaloo · 03/09/2012 08:44

Congrats to Ju1es and Bakeroo! :)

I'm thinking today looks like a lovely day to have a baby...

Last night was the first night in I think the whole pregnancy that I didnt wake up for a wee! Im sure my movements have reduced a bit too, and I feel more energetic than I have in months and months so I have everything crossed except my legs! God the last few weeks are hard lol, I'm sooo impatient!

Have a lovely day everyone :)

Congratulations bakeroo lovely news! Good luck tinker hope today is your day, I have been shattered the last few days so dont think much is happening here, tried straddling DH last night - nothing!! Come on baby......Hmm

funchum8am · 03/09/2012 10:00

Congratulations bakeroo that is a lovely lovely name and well done her for arriving bang on time!

Managed a half decent night's sleep last night once I dropped off at around 12.45am but the night before had my first real problems with heartburn/acide reflux so now off to buy some Gaviscon just in case, plus more raspberry leaf tea....getting really keen to get moving even though I'm only 37+4!

twizzlestix · 03/09/2012 10:09

She's gorgeous ju1es lovely pictures.

Congrats baker! Can't believe she was so punctual! Beautiful name btw.

Am starting to feel a little Envy at all these snuggly babies being born when mine seems content to over stay! We're 40+2 now with no signs of anything happening at all...

Loup23 · 03/09/2012 10:43

I'm with you twizzle 40 + 2 and ready! Hope it happens for us soon Envy x

Rachel130690 · 03/09/2012 10:54

I'm 40 weeks today :) don't no why Im so happy cause I doubt anything will happen but I'm ready/nervous about it all.. Eeek it's so exciting.

twizzle and loup when are you next in with Mw?

MakeTeaNotWar · 03/09/2012 11:49

Congrats on the new arrivals ladies - happy happy news!

I'm 37 weeks on Wed eeek so yesterday we transformed the lounge into a delivery suite complete with inflated birthing pool and hamper of towels. Plan is that it will all happen quickly and quietly overnight and DD will sleep through waking in the morning to a blissful scene of Mum, new arrival and scrambled eggs in bed. Tempting fate, much??

Loup23 · 03/09/2012 15:03

Good luck rachel hope your baby comes on time!!

maketea your plan sounds ideal, hope it happens like that!

I saw the MW today and baby is still 4/5 free so I don't think I'll be anytime soon, feel quite gutted about it all. Plan is to have a sweep next Monday and book in for induction at 12-14 days post due date. Anyone have positive stories of induction?! Hmm

funchum8am · 03/09/2012 16:07

loup I have heard some positive induction stories, generally shared when I mentioned my fear of induction (after NCT class put the wind up me). Several friends said they had straightforward labours brought on within a few hours (generally 4-8 hours though one friend took more like 12) of the initial pessary and some just had gas and air, said they didn't think it was any more painful than most labours (though to be honest you can't tell what other people's are like can you?) In fact I generally feel a bit of a wally when I say I'm scared of induction now because so many have people have said a) it's fine, doesn't take forever in most cases and isn't necessarily more painful and b) you're so sick of being pregnant by the time you get to 40+12 that ANYTHING is better than carrying on!

Having said all that I heartily hope that your labour starts asap for you!

twizzlestix · 03/09/2012 17:51

loup try not to worry about the head in relation to pelvis thing. Apparently it isn't unusual for some babies to stay high until it all kicks off. I had about 4 wks at 2/5 and nothing. On Friday, midwife said she couldn't feel any head out of pelvis at all and still nada. Am booked for first sweep on Friday but am hoping it'll be unnecessary!
Been drinking raspberry leaf tea (up to 4 cups now!) for last 3 weeks, danced the dance, lots of bouncing on birth ball. Am trying a longish walk tonight but have been out in town with no effect. Am not trying anything that may upset tummy though! Can't bear thought of labouring with diahorrea. I know some pooing may occur but a dodgy tum would make it soo much worse in my mind.

Ju1es22 · 04/09/2012 07:18

Congratulation Bakeroo beautiful name, so far we've got and Evie and Eva wonder if we'll have an Eve?!

Thanks for kind Congrats, Eva's been as good as gold so far we're getting 5 hours sleep at night with a feed in between!

Good luck girls try my list if only for a bit of fun:-)

cjbk1 · 04/09/2012 07:56

Good morning! anyone got a LO starting reception today? dd is, and ds cannot wait to get to school.im personally dreading all the "havnt you had it yet" s , but only 4 school days and then I will have it lol

moogs1000 · 04/09/2012 08:13

Congratulations on all of the new arrivals! Very exciting!
I'm 38+2 and have no feelings that this baby is comin soon! Not in any rush yet tho as dd starts nursery this week so would like to get her settled (and me not cry! )
Have about 6 good days then an exhausted day where I could cry at anything...is this normal?
Annoyed tens machine I ordered last week is out of stock, so not sure whether to bother now?!
Good luck to the next few lucky mummies!

ballroomblitz · 04/09/2012 08:31

My ds started on Friday cjbk (over in NI it's called P1) . Felt a bit tearful yesterday leaving him off as it was the first proper day at leaving at the school gates and he didn't want one of the P7's to walk him in, he wanted to go himself. Got half-way to the school front door before remembering me and shouting 'bye mum'. Awww my wee baby's all growing up. Great to have a few hours to get sorted though. My house is already looking much cleaner every day.

Rachel130690 · 04/09/2012 10:02

ballroom not sure where in Ni your from but around me reception and P1 are two different classes.

twizzle my little sister got shouted at by Mw for bouncing on her ball, says it adds extra strain to your pelvis which is bad and showed her some exercises to do instead, which are more rolling than bouncing. I thought it very strange.. As I seen woman in hospital bouncing on balls :s can't keep up with all info they say..

So no sign of baby yet.. So now I'm officially overdue.. :( really wanted it to happen on time.. Had very little movements yesterday compared to normal and everyone keeps saying that a baby sleeps 24 hours before you labour.. I've never heard this before. Is this true? Anyone heard this or have this happen?

Although I'm hoping that as I've been told I can't have him today as my Oh and his dad are tiling our kitchen and bathroom floor that it brings him on and more determined to come.. :)

Oh and finally finished packing my hospital bag last night with a LOT of help from my sister, so bags packed to brim and sitting by door..

ballroomblitz · 04/09/2012 10:16

Here we have nursery (pre-school) at age three then p1 at age 4. No reception so I assumed reception was like a first year in school kinda thing?? I could be wrong though :)

Definately sounds like you're tempting fate so today could be the day fingers crossed.

Rachel130690 · 04/09/2012 10:30

Ah right. In some schools round me, theres reception for those too young to start P1 but a bit to old for nursery. So like 4year olds that aren't starting to their 5. Think it's pretty much same thing. Just different areas different rules..

I am away to have some ripe pineapple, fingers crossed something happens today :)

meXem · 04/09/2012 13:07

Been off the thread for a little while, but have caught up now!

Congratulations to all the new mummys!

Finished work yesterday, so now officially on Mat Leave and bored all ready! I should really start working out what I still need to buy and sort out my hospital bag but seem to have no motivation whatsoever Blush

I have just got back from the MW and she says baby is no longer back to back but sort of sideways, which explains the uncomfortableness of the past week and the feeling of bruised ribs! Also have a growth scan on Thursday as bump is still measuring on the small side (no one believes I've only got 3 weeks left!) so fingers crossed all will be well.

xx

meXem · 04/09/2012 13:09

P.S MW also said baby's head is no longer "free" but now "4/5"....what does this mean?? xx

Ju1es22 · 04/09/2012 13:14

Moogs if you like I've got a barely used Elle tens machine (i used in very early labour and it did soothe the aches) you could borrow you'd just need new pads! I could post it later if you p/m your address?

Won't be offended if you say no of course! But if you did lend it I would want it back:-)
