Meant to say congrats to Misslaughalot - and good luck too!

Kveta · 06/06/2012 07:22

Cheese, mine is predicted to be over 9 lbs, but I am feeling so much bigger than last time, am worried she will be huge.

So I am now overdue anyway, and not sure why I expected otherwise. Seeing midwife at lunchtime, so hoping for sweep to kick things off.

Hope we end the day at least one june baby up :) preferably 2, but I suspect we will have to be content with 1!

Morning All - I'm 38wks today and last night was having Braxton Hicks almost all night. Plus I was suffering period-like lower back pain. This is my first but I'm starting to wonder if these symptoms are suggesting he's more likely to be early than late? Am I the only person who's at this point and desperately praying he won't be early (because I'm completely disorganised and really not ready!)

Incidentally, Kveta who/how are you getting your weight predictions? I daren't think what my bump might be in those terms!

McKayz · 06/06/2012 07:56

Morning.

I feel terrible this morning. Really sick again and (sorry tmi) keep going to the toilet. I give up hoping its the start of something.

DH is due home the day I'm 42 weeks so people keep saying she's waiting for Daddy. We'll she can stop that rubbish and make her appearance now!!

Hope you're all well and not too fed up.

surfmama · 06/06/2012 08:04

ball bags just lost my post.

miss laugh lovely of you to pop in and see how we all are - wishing you a wonderful pregnancy - keep us posted
kveta good luck for sweeping!
blondie how are you? we had some twat crash into a car a while back, parked outside our house. it was old and sadly not worth repairing so we bodged it and used it but it felt horrid. hope you get her sorted.

I am having cramps, have had all night... could just need a poo.... but not sure. today wld be good as midwife is on at hosi all day.. come on babies

StarlightMaJesty · 06/06/2012 08:04

Morning all!

Cathfin I don't think the baby actually does too much growing the final days.

Kveta mine feels bigger too this time. I've just started noticing fluid in ankles which can isapparently be a sign of increased amniotic fluid, so perhaps that is it!?

surfmama · 06/06/2012 08:05

yes coops can we be early?

sorry your feeling shit mcK fingers crossed for you?

justwantcheese · 06/06/2012 08:11

Starlight, I'm with you on the sweep I'm not going to have one either.

Kveta · 06/06/2012 08:55

in all honesty, if someone said today they could knock me out and get baby out NOW, I would be lying down and baring my bump at them... I am so so fed up, and ready for baby to be here!! So a sweep seems a fairly unintrusive intervention at the moment :o

coops I had a growth scan at 36 weeks, due to previous big baby/family history of diabetes. They predicted 6lb 10oz at 36 weeks, which would make her 8lb 10oz at 40 weeks, but the sonographer said probably bigger, as baby was wriggling so much during the scan. I def. feel a lot bigger now thank I did with DS, but not sure if that's memory playing tricks on me! babies are supposed to gain around 1/2lb a week in the final weeks, and certainly with DS my growth scan predicted exactly what he was at 40+6 when he was born!! (we calculated he'd be 9lb at 41 weeks - he was born at 11.30pm at 40+6 and was 8lb 15.5oz :o)

weather looks atrocious here again today, dense black clouds, after a couple of days of torrential rain. sigh. could do with a bit warmer weather...

oh and happy birthday Dairy!

McKayz · 06/06/2012 09:05

Happy Birthday Dairy and happy due date!! What a cool birthday present a new baby would be!!

I was ttc with Mamma and post on another thread with her and there's been nothing so far today!! Might be wishful thinking but maybe she's in labour.

Coops79 · 06/06/2012 09:05

I think Kveta that for me, ignorance might well be bliss!

Re: the membrane sweep; I feel like every midwife in the South West (and a few sonographers) have had their fingers up my lady bits in the past few weeks and I am heartily sick of it. DH has been armed with a big stick with which to defend my honour in the hospital (he's much more afraid of me than silly assault charges).

MammaInTheMaking · 06/06/2012 09:26

Ah no, nought going on here McK. Absolutely NOTHING! EDD tomorrow but doubt anything will happen. Body just doesn't feel even the slightest bit different to every other day....

We stuck the woodland theme decal up in the nursery yesterday and it's looking amazing. We're so so ready for baby is crazy. DP has gone back to work after the long weekend and was really bummed about it. When he finished last week he had it in his head that baby would be coming.

Just sat surrounded by cloth nappies at the moment. Am putting all the boosters/liners in them in preparation. As I said, we're soooooooooooo ready!

justwantcheese · 06/06/2012 09:36

Kveta, good luck at the midwife today .
Hope the sweep sets you off.
Mckayz and surf sorry you're feeling so crap, hopefully all the toilet trips are a good sign that babies are coming :)

Come on babies , the suspense is killing me!

ffnorm · 06/06/2012 09:48

Morning - in shock,DS woke at 6,got into bed with us and fell asleep only waking at 9,managing to sleep through DH getting up and going to work... the Jubilee weekend must have taken it out of him...

Happy Birthday diary Thanks

Kveta good luck today - hope they can hurry this lo up Smile hopefully as it's a girl, she'll be more timeous than her brother.

Cathfin sorry to hear about the bile - burns your throat for ages after.

McK hope you feel a little better!

Coops why have you had so many VE's???

ffnorm · 06/06/2012 09:57

Mamma - hope this helps... the day my water broke with DS,I didn't feel any different to the past weeks and even after that (besides feeling messy) still didn't feel different but went into labour that late afternoon once in labour felt very different

MammaInTheMaking · 06/06/2012 10:40

Hehe ffnorm really hope for some of the same. Ok, off to bounce on the ball Smile

StarlightMaJesty · 06/06/2012 11:10

Midwife told me to write my birth plan in my notes to hand to her on Friday.

Too scared to. I mean, I know it and my DH does and my doula does but I don't want a row with a senior mw who is very unlikely to be present.

It's bad enough I have to refuse a sweep!

DairyNips · 06/06/2012 11:38

Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyoneSmile

I thought I'd posted here this morning but maybe I got distracted and didn't finish?Hmm

McKayz Sorry you're feeling crappy today, hope baby stops waiting for daddy and gets a wriggle on!

Kveta hope the sweep sets you off!

I can't decide whether to get a sweep or not.. I really don't fancy the uncomfortable sensation but I do fancy getting this baby out. I remember wanting one last time but the midwife was one of those who was agains too much intervention so she basically refused to do itConfused, I did get one at about a week over but it was done by a student and I don't think she was rough enough, it certainly was the least uncomfortable one I've had..

Kveta · 06/06/2012 12:02

Well mw couldn't do sweep as am not ready, and couldn't find heartbeat so am off to hospital for monitoring shortly. And not at all howling at nothing!

OP posts:
DairyNips · 06/06/2012 12:03

Oh Kveta Sorry she couldn't do one. Hope all is just fine when you get to hosp x

ceeej · 06/06/2012 12:06

Morning all and happy birthday Dairy

Really hoping another June baby arrives soon, can't cope with the suspense much longer!

I'm currently not inclined to have a sweep but am still 10 days from due date, may change my mind as it gets closer! Hope yours gets things going kveta.

Great to hear your happy news miss.

We ended up having a fairly hectic weekend, lots of shopping and cupboard rearrangement. Also decided to go to the Jubilee flotilla at the last minute, watched the fireworks on Monday from a spot just behind the palace and went out for dinner out last night. Fingers crossed all the activity and walking around will have spurred baby into action.

ceeej · 06/06/2012 12:08

x-post, hope all is OK at the hospital kveta

McKayz · 06/06/2012 12:13

Kveta hope all is well at the hospital. Thinking of you!

blondiedollface · 06/06/2012 12:23

Kveta Hope all ok, do let us know you and LO are alright. Xx

ffnorm · 06/06/2012 12:24

Kveta thinking of you, hope all goes ok at the hospital!!

Starlight do you think if you include in your birthplan your understanding of the potential risks of non intervention/going past 42 weeks etc, they will be more receptive to your plan?? feel free to tell me to shut up if I have the wrong end of the stick
