This had better be the last antenatal thread for us all, so come on girls, get pushing!

Hello!

I bought some biscuits the other day, for the midwives - but have eaten half a packet of Fox's Crunch Creams - in the last 20 mins!

Any news your end Jas?
What happens next for you? (I may have forgotten,..)

Frizbetheexpansionset · 23/02/2006 22:02

Hello I'm back tooo

Thell · 23/02/2006 22:11

Hello Friz!!
No news from Flame for a while. Her mw should be with her by now - perhaps she's hopped in the pool.

I ate a whole pineapple this afternoon. Don't know how effective it will be, but it was yummy
One of my NCT ladies happened to recommend it today by email (I had already bought it anyway) - she said a friend of hers went into labour after eating one. I'm beginning to think all these things are down to coincidence. Maybe I should just choose my own method - eating jaffa cakes, perhaps??

Jasnem · 23/02/2006 22:13

I have to try really hard to have a baby in the next week, or it's induction on 2nd March. Consultant is not optomistic about induction, as due to previous cs they only give small doses of whatever it is. If induction fails, then cs

Planning to try castor oil tomorrow night(yuk). haven't got any yet, or probably would be drinking it now.

OP posts:
Frizbetheexpansionset · 23/02/2006 22:15

Yuk, rather you than me Jas, however if I go a week overdue I shall probably trying that too!

Thell I like the sound of Jaffa Cakes, although still feeling sicky, so better not try them just yet, why am I feeling sick???

Jasnem · 23/02/2006 22:17

I'm pretty sure it's all coincidence, too. By this stage almost all of us will go into labour eventually, and if you try everything that's suggested you can always claim that something started you off.

I like the jaffa cake idea.
We could all do it and start a new myth.

Rite, g'night all, bed's a calling, see ya'll in the morning (4am to give birth right ladies?!)

Jasnem · 23/02/2006 22:20

Really am going to go to bed now.
Night Frizbe, hope the sickness is better in the am
Night Thell.

OP posts:
Thell · 23/02/2006 22:21

Could it be your labour hormones getting ready Frizbe?
Mind you, I'm interpreting everything as my body preparing for labour - sleeping lots, not sleeping lots, eating lots of biscuits, etc
The old natural method last night gave me a grumbly uterus, so thought it had worked, but sadly it was not to be. Baby has been pretty wriggly this afternoon though, so perhaps the pineapple has been encouraging her to carry on moving south.
Hope you're feeling better / labouring soon.
Although of course Jasnem gets the majority of the labour vibes (and a hug)

Frizbetheexpansionset · 23/02/2006 23:12

argh, can't get to sleep, lie down, feel even sicker, try and prop self up on pillows etc, releives sickness a bit, but get dead legs.....my ball is the only place of comfort at the mo.....will I have to go to sleep on it? argh....looks like I may be keeping flame company for a while longer.....so tired tho, maybe I can sleep face down on the desk....

Tabs · 23/02/2006 23:32

Posted this on post-natal as well..

Another little update from Ixel. She's still in hospital at the moment, as they are running some tests on Bram for breathing a bit fast. She'll be back on line as soon as she can be.

Jasnem · 24/02/2006 07:51

Still here

Hoping that Flame's thread is so quiet because she's had baby...

Ixel - big hugs to you and Bram -

I slept all night but woke up feeling sick, and really upset after dreaming that I had the baby (a teenage girl, with two sets of teeth![shock), and the midwife had tried to push her back in, as she was "too early".
Still quite disturbed by this one....

Yikes what a dream Jas imagine trying to get a teenager back in! lol, she's not going to be that overdue, your subconcious is in overdrive

Flames had a little boy 7.46 if this works its a link to the birth announcement
flamessparkarrives

Ixel hope all is ok with you and Bram {{{Hugs}}}

Helen, Thell how are you today?

Jas I woke up feeling sick still too, but at least managed to get some sleep by about 12:30 last night, spent an hour hanging over the birth ball until I got comfy enough to try and lie down, then must have passed out! dh woke me at 6am to show me lots of snow and say he wasn't going to work, as supposed to be bricklaying! which is impossible in snow, so he got up with dd at 7, phew, so hour and half lie in for me still feel a bit sicky, but not as bad as last night

Thell · 24/02/2006 13:08

Yoinks guys, I hope the sickness turns out to be something productive for you both {hug}
After a very patchy night's sleep the night before, I slept well last night and kipped through most of the morning today. I refuse to feel guilty - I'm going to need all this rest soon!

I had some great news last night - a friend of mine made a quiet announcement that she is pregnant She's had her 12 wk scan I think, and will have them frequently, as she had a miscarriage recently and one before her first baby.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 24/02/2006 13:43

Aww Thell that's good news for your friend fingers x'd all goes ok for her

Glad your feeling ok today, any signs??

I've developed another zit and a mouth ulcer now! so a) I'm run down and b) my hormones must be changing right!

Off to do some pasta painting with dd now, trying to stay awake and upbeat for her sake, but really not feeling like it.....

Jasnem · 24/02/2006 14:00

Just got up again - I feel like I need the slepp too, but have volunteered to do this pms school run, or I will not move all day.

Hope you all feel better than I do today...one bad dream has really upset me!

Hi there, not many of us left now, hospital this morning, managed to get dr to do a sweep, which hurt and made me bleed a little and had left me feeling a bit odd but no sign of a baby yet, was there for ages as bp was up so had to sit and rest then have it taken again, went down so they let me out Got to go back in a week to talk about induction so need to get it out soon.

How are you all? have sort of read thread but got distracted by flames baby all that sank in was something to do with hobnobs, chocilate ones which i could eat a whole packet of if you let me near them

Anybody else snuck off in labour??????

Thell · 24/02/2006 15:37

Helen - can't believe you haven't gone into labour yet after you were so dilated!
I keep hearing good things about how effective sweeps can be, so fingers crossed for you. And Jasnem too - you must be providing too nice a home for your little one - much nicer than the big bad world!

Frizbe, I can relate when it comes to bodies being run down. There is a history of food intolerances in my family - I was milk and wheat free as a kid, but as a result can generally cope well now. It's beginning to look like the itchy spots are a new way of my body not coping with something, probably cows' milk . They're spreading every day - now on my wrists, hands, elbows, knees, and today some appeared on my upper arms, ankles and a little patch on one buttock! I stopped the milk completely after my UHT with cereal yesterday, but maybe the Fox's Crunch Creams are responsible for my continuing misery!!
At this rate I won't be able to have a water birth because the warm water will make me itch all over!!
Aaargh!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 24/02/2006 16:40

Oh no Thell, that's not good, fingers x'd its not a sign of allergies to come, I have to say after dd, I've become allergic to certain nuts again, have always been allergic to walnuts, but hazelnuts are back on the list now too (was allergic when a kid, and grew out of it), which is a huge pain as can't eat chocolate spread in things or on things, argh!

Helen I love chocolate hobnobs, but haven't had any in ages! talking of which I hope they haven't got hazelnuts in the or I won't be having any again ever!
Glad the sweap seemed to go ok, your just going to drop no3 out in one or two hours I reckon, so won't have much build up to it, your just going to wake up like my friend the other week and go, argh! help! pop.....one baby

Jas, I'm really hoping this weekend is your weekend hon, try not to worry about your dream, it was only a dream and we do get some really weird ones when we're preggers {{{Hugs}}}

So whose for a mass labour tonight then?

Jasnem · 24/02/2006 16:49

Hobnobs "may contain traces of nuts", so depends jsut how much risk you want to take

I'm feeling a bit better now, it's good to get out for a bit, and stop wallowing. I don't really dream, even when pg, and guess I'm just oversensitive atm. It wasn't even that bad, really!

I think Helen will be up next for birth - a nice quick one, too!

I've decided just to plan on next Thurs, and then if I start earlier, it will be a bonus. Getting my hopes up at every twinge is just sending me loopy!

OP posts:
Frizbetheexpansionset · 24/02/2006 16:50

Oh I ignore the nut trace thing and see if it makes me ill or not, probably not the best way to deal with a nut allergy, but I'd go loopey otherwise!

Apparently we have another march girl in labour TIL......pants eh!

Jasnem · 24/02/2006 16:53

not fair

Did no one tell them there is a queue?????
