This had better be the last antenatal thread for us all, so come on girls, get pushing!

Flame, if a bath works, would a hot water bottle help?

DD2 was 5 days late, and I'm only 4 days over so far, so I still have a small hope of a natural (and swift) delivery.

Oh, and DD would be devastated if I have this baby before "scoooooooooooooooool" tomorrow, so I think I'll do the nice thing and hang on until 3.30 (clearly for her benefit and not just cos it won't come out )

Jasnem · 22/02/2006 19:11

I she looking forward to it by any chance, then?

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 22/02/2006 20:03

I go scoool now?

No, after another sleep when the lights are on outside again (she's not allowed out of her room until they turn the lights on outside her window )

10 mins later....

We go scoooooool pwease?

After a sleep

Whhhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?????? Pweeeeeeeeease????

We have sat and discussed that mummy will be going for a cup of coffee, and she's going to stay with the other boys and girls, and the ladies who take her photo (she has had a school photo done every year since she was born, in the playgroup). How much all of it will still be remembered when mummy actually does go for coffee is another matter!

4blue1pink · 22/02/2006 20:07

Sweeps did it for me! When i was in the hospital ( 40 mins from my home town) i met a doctor friend of mine - i had just had the sweep and told her and she told us that she did them herself for all three of hers ( she is the third friend to tell me this) she said 'give it five or six hours' and she was right....literally 5 hours later the labour started!

All they do is rummage about and apart from when i was contracting ( they gave me another sweeep later) it did not really hurt just uncomfortable..

get rummaging girls or get dh to!

Jasnem · 22/02/2006 21:00

I'd love to, and will admit to having a go, but my cervix is still so far back it's almost impossible to reach!

Fingers crossed for a good day at nursery for Flames DD
(Seeing as wishing labour vibes to everyone is having no effect at all)

Evening ladies... I predict there will be a baby by the end of the week....

(well just to give you all a bit of hope)
Sending big smiles and labour vibes again!

I know none of you want to but you must get your hubbies in the mood and have lots of SEX and I guarantee one of you will be waking up to contractions

Thell · 22/02/2006 21:24

Right - over the next 24 hrs I'm going to try everything - I put up a curtain pole today, so was up and down ladders and drilling holes in the wall, I jogged up Blackheath high street on my way for coffee, I've been to yoga and am sitting on my ball as I type, and I've had a glass of red wine. Tonight I'm going to molest my poor unsuspecting husband for sex, followed by a fresh pineapple tomorrow, lots of RLT and a curry for dinner.
Do you think that might do the trick??!!
My mother predicted I would give birth at the beginning of this week. She's usually right about these things too! Outrageous insolence on beanie's part
I have great sympathy for those suffering the 'haven't you popped yet?' from everyone. I only get it from my pregnancy yoga class, and it's already getting old.

Thell · 22/02/2006 21:27

Chloe - 'In the mood' ??!
Maybe that's where I've been going wrong!
He doesn't seem that keen after shaving my bloated legs with his electric razor and coating my itchy red rashes in calamine cream,...

Flamesparrow · 22/02/2006 21:29

Believe me I want to... he keeps saying no

Chloe55 · 22/02/2006 21:30

I must admit, DH wasn't in the mood either, after seeing my swollen 'porn star' flaps and having an irate wife literally shouting at him to get it up I'm surprised he ever managed it the poor bloke! Oh and to those wondering if things start to look normal again down below - yes they do, THANK GOD!!!!!!

Flamesparrow · 22/02/2006 21:34

A bit of an update here... backache still horrible, and I think Spark has trapped a nerve - I'm very breathless with it Going to bounce on my ball and play xbox to try and shift things a bit.

As much as I want this baby out, it really would devastate DD if she didn't get to do school....

Frizbetheexpansionset · 22/02/2006 22:29

{{{{Hugs}}}} Flame, I hope it shifts for you soon, try getting on all fours and waggling each leg in a circle in turn, then if anything is trapped in the hip/pelvic region it should shift...(my exercises from last time when I trapped everything going!)

On a brighter note, hope dd enjoys her 1st day at school!!

4b1p thanks for the tip don't know if I'm desperate to have a go yet tho, will probably have tried it by monday!

Chloe same again, although dh has more chance of getting sex now than in a few weeks eh!

Thell, I read that completely wrong, saw curtain pole and well I was thinking it was a bit severe to get baby out with one etc oopse! lets hope your MIL is right!

Flamesparrow · 23/02/2006 07:07

Possibly in labour, possibly weird bleeding going on Worried thread here

Trying to stay calm... and feeling very guilty about DD and scooooooooooooool!

Flamesparrow · 23/02/2006 07:55

Much less worried now... it was just one lot of blood, and has stopped - positive it was just a much gunkier show than with DD.

Not mentioning the "s" word to her and hoping she's forgotten .

Had to be today really didn't it - the one date I was adamant I didn't want because of the whole birthday clashes!!!

Jasnem · 23/02/2006 08:15

OOooooh Flame, hope you're not worried still. Sounds good to me!
Any thing else happening?

If you start slowly will you still take DD to schoooooooooool?(Or get someone to?)
She could come home to a new baby then!

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 23/02/2006 08:21

Nah, its a big thing, I don't want to miss either the start or the end by having a baby. We'll just have to wait until I am mobile again after Spark is born.

Contractions are about every 10 mins... dunno if this will be long and drawn out, or suddenly very fast. DD was fairly fast....

Off to do more tidying now - I knew I should have tidied last night when I had an energy spurt!

hotmama · 23/02/2006 08:27

Yay Flame - get going girl! I don't think we have had any births this week have we? Hope you sneeze and your lo pops out - with no pain!

Keep us updated.

Jasnem · 23/02/2006 08:40

Oh, well I guess the excitement of the baby will distract her, and she can start next week.

I'm a tiny bit but also very excited.Hope it's not too quick - you need time to fill your pool don't you?

Going to be very late for school now. Don't give birth 'til I get back

(Ixel had hers on Tues, so this will be our second this week)

OP posts:
hotmama · 23/02/2006 08:43
