Yeah got some great pics. I've had a GTT and it was all normal.

TroubleAndFyfe · 07/04/2012 17:19

Oooh, please post pictures! [busmile]

TroubleAndFyfe · 07/04/2012 17:33

I love you bun [bugrin] I now have a sleeping baby as swaddled him within an inch of his life, I thought he'd grown out of it. Stupid Internet info! [buhmm]

MammaInTheMaking · 07/04/2012 18:11

Quick question ladies... How many swaddle blankets and cellular blankets will we need to the early days? We'll be doing sleeping bags later on but how many of these blankets do we need for the start? Also any tips on places to get them? Had a peek in mothercare today and they seemed quite expensive.

Thank you!! x

TroubleAndFyfe · 07/04/2012 19:01

I have 3 swaddle wraps but only need 2 as do washing quite often. Mine are both from eBay, I have a gro wrap, a lalita wrap and another that I've not used but will be trying out now we're swaddling again as the gro one, although perfect for the early days, is made of t shirt material and is too easy to escape from! [busmile]
I have tons of blankets but prob have needed 2. He's been in sleeping bags at night for 2 weeks now but we co sleep so I can control the arms! [bugrin]

TroubleAndFyfe · 07/04/2012 19:04

Oh, blankets are from charity shop. Don't know what a cellular blanket is and even google has not enlightened me..I just have blanket blankets [bublush]

ghosteditor · 07/04/2012 20:20

Argh! MN ate my long post do here's the gist:

Swaddle blankets = awesome, we had two

Cellular blankets - with holes in so breathable - we bought a few but rarely use them as peoria bought/made us loads of lovely blankets as gifts

We now love the sleeping bags as they're wiggle proof Grin

And sorry for my rubbish drawing skills...

MammaInTheMaking · 07/04/2012 20:56

Thanks trouble and ghost. Do you both use those wrap up swaddles or the zippy ones?

Thanks for the blanket tip! We have 1 and I'm crocheting 2 blankets at the mo (1 boy, 1 girl) so I'll just carry on with the making rather than buying Smile

Today DP and I went to Boots an got all the free voucher stuff. I also pre washed all our cloth nappies 5 times!

TroubleAndFyfe · 07/04/2012 21:41

Mine are wraps but zips look great too! Tonight I've put him in the thin cotton swaddle wrap inside the sleeping bag (looks like he has no arms [bugrin] ) so hope he sleeps better than last night!

Kayzr · 07/04/2012 21:44

I've put a wedding pic and a scan pic on my profile now!

Thinking of changing my name too as my surname doesn't start with R anymore so I'm not Kayz r Grin

elliebug · 07/04/2012 23:40

Humm might invest in a swaddle thingy, I got blankets from Tesco!! Kayzr, I wish you'd explained your name earlier, I always struggle to spell it [bublush] have just been out with some people from work, it was really nice and I'm ?glad to say the people who walk round selling shots didn't discriminate against me with my HUGE bump!! Better get drawing now Smile

MammaInTheMaking · 07/04/2012 23:43

Defo think a name change now Kayzr. I'll have a look at your photos when I go to work on tues Smile Pleased you had such a special day.

Am sat up in bed because baby is doing some really uncomfortable moving. It just stretches out and sticks and arm or leg out my belly and just leaves it there. It's actually making me cringe. The kicking and wiggling are great but this is another level and feels too weird.... Kept me up all of last night doing it I don't know what to do to get it to go to sleep. Yikes.

elliebug · 07/04/2012 23:50

Have you tried pushing said limb back inside? I do this, sometimes he pushes it out again but others he gets the idea that I'm in charge!![bugrin]

TroubleAndFyfe · 08/04/2012 06:05

ghost, didn't realise you were drawing too, have added you! [busmile]
fools and I are on a run of 47 bun, you asked earlier..hoping to make it to 50! [bugrin]

elliebug · 08/04/2012 07:13

Ugh, woken up with awful heartburn, reflux, nausea and I'm wide awake, have eaten some ice cream and was watching the news to send me back to sleep when I saw my dad! On the national news![bugrin] Now I'm excited and no one else is awake to share my excitement!! Still feel sick though, might do some washing[buconfused]

foolserrand · 08/04/2012 08:28

Oooh! That's exciting, ellie! Why's he in the news? Good reason I hope!

Happy chocolate day everyone!

Thinking of investing in some swaddle blankets this time round, didn't bother putting ds down much so he didn't need them!

Spent yesterday walking round our local large shopping centre. Still feel very tired and achy but can't rest as dh put his back out Friday so its all on me! Suffice to say, not much is getting done!

elliebug · 08/04/2012 08:49

He was doing some excellent walking in a crowd at a conference!! Hope your OH's back is better soon, take it easy don't want to go into labour or anything GrinGrin

MammaInTheMaking · 08/04/2012 09:30

Do you feel a bit better now ellie? That's funny he he just appeared on the news!

I do push the pokey arm or leg back in but this baby doesn't care and just shoves it out again. Only thing that seems to settle it is DP's hand on bump doing it. Had a reasonable sleep but baby back to it's star jump tricks this morning. Grin

Anyone got any particular brand of swaddle they recommend or are they all much the same and do a good job?

foolserrand · 08/04/2012 09:40

Fab! Does he know he got filmed? :o

Just carried him a huge stack of pancakes upstairs as the poor man is stuck in bed. Got to walk the dogs in a bit. That should be fun. Think I'll need to take some ham to keep my girl to heel. Gah, must remember not to type everything I think!

Still, I get some lovely mummy son time with ds first. He has decided we can sit on the sofa, watching fireman Sam and eating Easter eggs! Heaven!

ghosteditor · 08/04/2012 09:45

Happy Easter everyone!

We bought the Gro swaddles (at TK Maxx so a good price) which are just wrap swaddles as they worked well, but the zip ones look good. I'd say we only used them for 4-6 weeks do don't spend too much, but they were v useful at the time!

foolserrand · 08/04/2012 10:09

While I remember, if anyone gets a picture of a large breasted, red headed stick woman with a speech bubble saying "I

Just so you all know - I've seen some fab character drawings but I never know who anyone is, especially cartoon characters!

foolserrand · 08/04/2012 11:34

Is that why you didn't get my autobot? I was so proud of that!

Bun, sorry about the tent. My childish side couldn't resist.[bublush]

OP posts:
ghosteditor · 08/04/2012 11:45

Hi fools, yes, sorry! It was awesome but I'm rubbish with stuff like that (and pop stars) - have failed on some sort of Pokemon, plus autobots, everything! Sorry...

elliebug · 08/04/2012 12:45

Mmmm pancakes, he knew they were filming fools but not that the exact bit with him on would be shown! I've sky +'d it so he can watch when they come up at the end of the month [bugrin]
I have to admit my OH has helped me guess some pics, and with the spelling, whoever drew laser I got it but I thought it had a z in it and was getting annoyed cos there was no z!![bublush] better get ready for lunch/tea at the pil, alas still no lamb snuggles [busad]
