Can't help with the spotting Cakes as I haven't had any but there are others who I'm sure will be along who have.

NinjaChipmunk · 08/04/2012 09:26

cakes not sure re brown bleeding, maybe phone the ooh gp if worried? Brown blood is better than red though isn't it? That means its old? I know a few people on here have had more experience of this than me but hopefully its nothing. Have you done anything strenuous recently?

Excuse me but I need to have a teensy little rant and I'm really tired. DP went out last night, got pissed and came home very late after telling me he was going to be much earlier. But thats not whats bothering me. DS was in with me and dp sleeps in ds's room when he goes out so we all get some sleep. DS woek up about 1.45, I realised dp wasn't home, I couldn't get back to sleep (pregnancy insomnia you are a bastard) so texted him at about 2.15. No answer so when i was still awake at 3am I called him just to make sure he was safe. He was safe but sounded rather pissed and since all the trains were on a bus replacement thingy he was trying to work out how to get home (he was at Liverpool st stn and we live sw london/ surrey suburbs. I told him to get a cab. Nearly 2 hours later there was a knock on the front door (yes I was still awake!) so I let him in and as he wobbled over the threshold he told me that just after he was on the phone to me, he was queuing up to get cash for a cab and he got mugged for his phone Sad by some bunch of horrible youths. I'm so glad that was all they took but it had all his pics and videos of ds and other family, and as its an iphone, all his emails etc on it too. I know when he gets up in a bit he'll phone to get it all locked or whatever they do and that he has insurance, but it must have so many of our personal details on there. I'm so angry that people think they can do this and no-one bats an eyelid. But also I feel bad as if i wasn't calling him to make sure he was safe, he probably wouldn't have have his phone out and been seen with it. And after all that I didn't get back to sleep until 6ish then ds woke up at 7.20. So now I'm tired and grumpy. And dp will be tired hung over and super grumpy when he wakes up. Right rant over. I just needed to get it out.

Biscuitsandtea · 08/04/2012 09:41

Ninja that's awful AngryShock

Thank goodness your DH is ok, but still, it just beggars belief that things like this happen. And if he reports it to the police they'll probably just give him an incident number so he can claim on the insurance but not do anything about it.

I had my handbag stolen once and the oiks that stole it used my cash card (pre pin-no days) at a cigarette kiosk in a supermarket, which must had CCTV, then they used my phone to call their friends to meet in a pub where they used my card again. So the police had CCTV footage of them and all their friends' phone nos and still did bugger all. Just makes me cross because although I understand that the police are massively over stretched, if those little yobs get away with it once they'll just do it to someone else the following week. Or maybe next time they won't steal it from under a chair in a pub, they'll take it from someone walking along and it can easily escalate from there. Sad

But I can completely understand Ninja how in the days of iPhones it's a whole lot worse to have it stolen because of the amount of info on them - hope he can get it all locked etc this morning. And Sad about the photos etc on it.

Sending you some hugs because it sounds as if they are well needed in the Ninja household xx

cakes82 · 08/04/2012 09:43

I don't think i've done anything strenuous, I worked Friday and spent day on steam railway yesterday.

I wanted to respond to your rant Ninja but brain isn't working properly so all I could get was thats awful and hope your dh gets phone blocked today and hope you get chance for a nap.

scarletfingernail · 08/04/2012 09:44

Utter bastards Ninja I know so many people that's happened to, it makes me so angry. Don't feel bad about calling him, that is what his phone is for after all. The muggers are the only ones to blame. Best get it reported ASAP, I think you're only covered from when it's reported so may be liable for any costs run up on it until then. I could be wrong.

Not sure about the brown blood cakes, hopefully musical will stop by and advise, I think she suffered a bit with it. I think it's when it's red it's time to be concerned so hopefully it's nothing.

Biscuits put it so much better than me.

NinjaChipmunk · 08/04/2012 09:47

thanks biscuits I was getting a bit hormonal and emotional because i am knackered as well! I just told ds what happened and he burst into tears - why? - 'because I liked all the games on it and now they're gone!' bless him. At least I can explain he can have the games back when dp gets a replacement phone. But it does piss me off, dp is not a small bloke either, he's 6'2. He should have just got a bloody cab in the first place instead of dicking about on his own at 3am in central london.

jaggythistle · 08/04/2012 10:17

sorry to hear that ninja, thieving wee shites! i think I'll just never understand how you can just not give a crap and take people's stuff. Angry hope it gets locked quickly enough to not cause too much bother.
I'd like some random brooking today for me not to be the fat grumpy pg lady in the corner. visiting DH's DB today, so along with SIL and PIL there will be SIL's family too. i so cba but haven't seen my wee DN for ages, she loves DS so much and follows him about looking after him. Grin i think i feel a bit pathetic at the thought of socialising and hearing how huge i look and all the questions that big pg ladies get! i am going to try and haul my head out of my arse, totally dreading it for now though!

jaggythistle · 08/04/2012 10:26

sorry Blush had a total paragraph fail there on my phone, as well as telling you how pathetic i am. Grin

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 08/04/2012 10:53

Sorry to hear about the awful night for the Ninja household! People like that just make me sick. We all work so hard for everything we have, and others think they can just steal whatever they want. I once had my credit card cloned somehow, and the person with my details used it to buy a flight to Portugal. Surely it would have been easy for the police to get the person's ID details from the airline?! Still they did nothing. So frustrating. Sending lots of hugs to Ninja and family, and No Brooking that there's no hassle getting the phone locked and a replacement sorted.

Jaggy I hope you have a lovely day today in the end. If it makes you feel any better I think you're doing great to even be going! I may have used my DH's final day of triathlon prep as an excuse to get out of going to my family's dinner today Blush I'm just so uncomfortable at the moment, and tired of all the questions. I'd rather stay home with my eggs Blush However I know from past experience that if I had dragged myself out to the dinner my family would take my mind off everything, and I'd have a great time. You've definitely made the right choice and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself!

Cakes I can't help with the brown spotting unfortunately, but always remember you're a No Brooker and whatever it is it's no match for serious No Brooking!

Happy Easter everyone! Especially to all the mini No Brookers experiencing their very first Easter! Grin

Wants3 · 08/04/2012 21:18

Is every one enjoying their Easter Sunday? I have never seen the thread this quiet!
I have been having loads of braxton hicks again today and have been really uncomfortable when the baby moves. I keep telling him he has to stay put until Daddy gets home!

Biscuitsandtea · 08/04/2012 21:34

Too. Much. Sugar.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 08/04/2012 21:48

Soooooooooooooooo bored! I should have gone to the family dinner after all!

I'm now feeling totally pessimistic and convinced I won't have this baby before my scheduled date :( My hips hurt so much!!!!! Plus all the other crappy symptoms that just won't quit!

However, to be more positive, I'm so glad not to panic every time I have a period pain - it's still such a relief to have the cs authorised. Also, much as I wish the cs could be earlier, at least I have an end date and I know I won't go overdue. Finally, DH did buy me TWO yummy eggs, delicious! Grin

I hope everyone else has had a good Easter Sunday! Missing you all!

jaggythistle · 08/04/2012 23:27

hello. :) it is v quiet!

not quite so many BHs here today.

i survived the afternoon, i forgot that SIL's family are, well, a bit superficial and self absorbed so they kind of like talking about themselves a lot and forget about us. so i was mostly off the hook with ridiculous pg chat and could chill out. DS enjoyed himself and was spoiled with lots of chocolate. i may have to assist him though as we still have lots of his Christmas stuff to get through! it was nice to see wee DN too, DS was a bit Hmm at her following him everywhere but he liked her toys...

not long scream!

scarletfingernail · 09/04/2012 00:32

I think I might be nesting here...

I'm wide awake and I'm still cleaning. I've had the busiest day and I can't seem to stop. I've had my baby car seat, pram, moses basket all down out of the loft. All of the covers have been washed as well as all sheets and blankets plus any gender neutral baby clothes DS had. I've Dettoled the cot, wardrobe and changing unit in the nursery and filled the changing unit with nappies, toiletries, towels, muslins, vests and babygrows etc.

I've also been sorting out DS's toys and bagging up rubbish, toys for the loft and clothes and made a lovely roast lamb dinner. The bottom half of my body is killing! These aches and pains are getting worse every day, but my brain just will not switch off and keeps telling me what needs doing next. Ouch, but then I just went to move and couldn't. I think that may be the end of my nesting for today after all.

Weirdly (but good), DH is also in the same mood and is currently scubbing the bathroom. Do men nest as well?

Sounds like you had a nice relaxing afternoon jaggy

Scream sorry you've had such a boring afternoon.

Ninja I hope your DH managed to get his phone blocked without any issues?

I wonder how Fishcake and Dream are spending their first weekend with their newborns and if they've both been inundated with visitors.

jaggythistle · 09/04/2012 08:12

I'm going to stop MNing so much during the night, i couldn't really get back to sleep but had a sort of dozing dream i was still on here.

my brain invented posts i was making and reading and it was v realistic! there was also a sub plot about my work where i found a thread printed out by our total slacker colleague in a drawer which caused much scandal. i was v confused when i woke up. Grin

i did actually want to get up and do ironing scarlet, but i usually do it in our bedroom and i thought DH might object. Blush

McPopcornMouseNFries · 09/04/2012 08:45

Baby does not like chocolate Confused

cakes I hope the spotting has disappeared. I don't think it's something to worry about unless it's heavy, but a doctor or your oncall midwife might set your mind at ease?

stacks I gained 5lbs in the first fortnight - water retention I think - and I'm in a size larger clothes but haven't grown any larger since. I bet that's what the November ladies have too, so I wouldn't worry at all. I'd be astonished if it's baby already Wink

ninja that's really pants. i hope DH apologises for worrying you too :o

scarletfingernail · 09/04/2012 09:03

That does sound a weird dream jaggy. Remind me when you're due?

Boo to LO not liking chocolate popcorn. Unfortunately I've not got that problem, but I wasn't given any eggs so will have to make do with any DS can't manage. Have you any strong suspicion whether your LO is a girl or boy?

OP posts:
jaggythistle · 09/04/2012 09:59

the date the MWs are going with is the 25th scarlet, would be 28th by LMP though. also ff thought 1 may because i ovulated quite late. can you tell i am a bit sceptical of the 25th? :)

i also don't have the not liking chocolate problem popcorn, this is lucky as DS has enough to keep me him going for a while after yesterday.

brooking that any spotting has disappeared cakes

NinjaChipmunk · 09/04/2012 10:54

scarlet you are sooo nesting! You sound like you are really getting into it, as does mr.scarlet. Remind me, you're having ecv when and what happens after that? What is your due date? jaggy are you working up to some nesting too?
Poor pop with baby not liking chocolate! Maybe in a few weeks when the boakiness has worn off a bit?
Poor dp is absolutely gutted still. He's managed to get a block on outgoing calls/ texts on the phone but since its a business phone it was done through an agency so they can't be contacted till Tuesday so all his emails etc and apps like ebay etc are on there. He's worked his way through resetting his passwords where he can but he's lost all his pictures and videos and stuff and a huge amount of contacts that were only on his phone. He looked so upset about it yesterday. I have to say that since this happening and my phone breaking completely at Christmas, I have realised the importance of backing stuff up! We have also agreed that if one of us (ie him) is going out and will probably get drunk, that posh phones are not taken, just a spare phone with a few peoples numbers and about a tenner of credit. Anyway, enough about that. I need a hot cross bun and more chocolate.
The weather looks rather crap today which is a shame, would be nice to get out and go somewhere.

scarletfingernail · 09/04/2012 12:12

Ninja I hope this phone business hasn't spoiled your weekend. I can't help feel a bit sorry for your DH, he must feel terrible. Good idea re the cheap phone next time though.

My due date is the 20th. ECV is booked for this Weds. If it works I'll be left alone with possibly another scan at some point just to make sure the baby hasn't
moved back again. If the ECV doesn't work they'll get me in for a section pretty soon after because of the risks associated with going into labour with a transverse baby. Cord prolapse mainly. It's all getting scarily close now, but excitement is kicking in especially now the end is in sight with the house.

Baby race is on with me Scream and Jaggy by the sounds of things. Very exciting!

OP posts:
McPopcornMouseNFries · 09/04/2012 12:24

That's an excellent idea about the cheap phone ninja

No clue scarlet - Dh thinks it will be a boy but I think that might be a teensy bit of wishful thinking partly because his 2 sisters have girls and are hideously competitive with them :o not long til we find out!

jenfraggle · 09/04/2012 12:39

Has anyone here been offered antenatal classes through the NHS? I assumed that they did them but am now 34 weeks and nothing has been mentioned. I have no idea how to look after a baby, nappy changing, feeding, bathing etc and have looked into NCT ones but the ones near us got cancelled. Surely they wouldn't kick me out of hospital after the birth with no idea how I'm even supposed to hold it?

McPopcornMouseNFries · 09/04/2012 13:02

Could you ring your midwife Jen? Maybe she could arrange some for you?

jaggythistle · 09/04/2012 13:21

grr did a big post and lost it there. stupid phone!

MW offered me classes last time and this time Jen so i agree with maybe chasing yours up for info. my workmate is about a week or 2 behind you and only just starting hers so hopefully you'll get in for them.
