Congratulations beeboles, great news, hope you are recovering well and enjoying these special first days with Tom.
Good luck weeangel, hope everything's moving along....

LimeFlower · 07/05/2012 20:52

luckynumber and LittleSarah thanks for the reassurance re hiccup-baby has at least 2-3 during the day.

SES you're very lucky with your partner cooking, mine is rubbish in the kitchen department but makes up for it elsewhere :o

BlueCranejoin the club, sometimes finding the position at night is a nightmare, laying the head down, just about to fall asleep and then the bastard heartburn comes.

Harecare good luck with curry and DP

myweenagel was it a trickle or a woooosh?hope you weren't caught anywhere inconvenient.Good luck, keeping my fx for speedy and safe pain free delivery

Beeboles congratulations on the birth of your son :)

I'm getting more excited as every day passes-trying not to think about the actual labour but the afterwards, just can't wait :)

HeidiHole · 07/05/2012 21:18

Congratulations beeboles! 38+6 hey? that's what I am today! having some periody type pains, but have been anyway on and off so I doubt anything will happen soon! No contractions (except the painless braxton hicks) and his head isn't even a tiny bit engaged. i'm going to go to 42 weeks aren't i!!

And myweeangel I hope everything goes well - best of luck and enjoy meeting your baby.

This is so exciting I pop onto the thread every day to see what news has arrived I love it!

tostaky · 07/05/2012 21:22

Congrats beeboles!!!! Very pleased for you Grin

Limeflower - I third what other said about colic and hiccups, ds1 never hiccuped but had bad colic, ds2 had hiccups but no colic

Harecare - glad about your DP also now the wedding is gone you can relax!

I have lost my mucus plug today as opposed to just brown discharge on Saturday. So I panicked completely about childcare!!! Now everything is sorted I'm hoping to use DP Wink to encourage baby to come out!!! Sex, pineapple and raspberry leaf tea GrinGrin

LimeFlower · 07/05/2012 21:30

Cheers tostaky :) enjoy your bonk tea *pineapple

Heidi,i'm the same, stamping my feet in anticipation!

A question-any of you living not so close to the hospital?Mine one is about 50 mins drive away might be 30 if DH panicks-

saggybaps · 07/05/2012 21:46

limeflower I'm 40 mins away from hosp. Not brilliant, there is a midwife led unit half way, just in case! Lots of pains to tonight. Baby wiggling loads & it really hurts/ freaks me out!

Any other 2nd timers shitting themselves?

LittleSarah · 07/05/2012 21:54

Woo hoo! Congrats beeboles!! Fantastic news!

Oooh saggy things seem to be happening for you. It's all be fine!

Good luck tostaky, hoping baby is on the way!

cupcakefairy · 07/05/2012 22:19

yes saggy 2nd timer here absolutely bricking it. I remember on my previous antenatal thread always thinking 'what are these 2nd timers getting so worked up about they've done it before they should be more relaxed!' ..I think being in blissful ignorance the first time round is far preferable!!
But repeat with me..we will be fine, we will be fine!
Just can't wait to be holding that baby & eating chocolate thinking 'thank god that's over'.

oltob · 08/05/2012 06:14

saggy, cupcake second timers - don't be surprised if it happens quickly, my cynicism was there right until his head was out, I remember thinking sure he's coming, they're humouring me etc etc. turned out full on pushing was 20mins, have been advised home birth if another Smile
lime I read that hiccups are a sign of well developed lungs. DD had them all the time & fed brilliantly from the word go.
Congratulations beeboles on Tom's arrival. Lovely name.
Must drink tea whilst still semi warm...

saggybaps · 08/05/2012 07:52

oltob thank-you, I'm pleased it will be quicker this time. cupcake I think 1st time you in such a lovely place mentally, second time all these totally irrational fears just sit there. Every night I have a mini-meltdown hoping it's not tonight! Again, I've woken up to lots of period pain & odd sensations. Today would be good!

Many congrats beeboles Tom is a lovely name.

LimeFlower · 08/05/2012 08:02

thanks oltob enjoy your wee bundle :)

any news overnight?saw on pg forum DialM had a baby boy last night.

Yorky · 08/05/2012 08:28

Oh good, the babies have finally started arriving now. :)
Congratulations Beeboles and Oltob - is May going to be a boy month, or are the girls just slower to get started?
Glad to see that DD2 is no longer the heaviest arrival - it was embarrassing having my 2nd daintiest baby being the least dainty on here! Blush
I agree that 2nd babies are faster
Good luck with all the twinges and niggles, hope the reflexology treatments, RLT and pineapple do what you need soon

LimeFlower · 08/05/2012 08:45

Yorky, out of 3 preggos in my village 1 has just had a boy,2nd one is expecting a boy and mine is a surprise :)

Maybe it's true with all this "waiting for women"?

I'm a bit surprised because i always considered April and May as "girly" months Confused

mythical · 08/05/2012 10:42

Still here, had 3hrs of contractions last night but they just stopped. had an unexpected loss in the extended family so MIL is now out of town (she's our transport) we have got back up but we would like her to be there so if the little one could stay put for one more day we would be very grateful!

Yorky i doubt my little on will be anything close to dainty! i feel like i'm carrying a mini elephant in here lol!

congrats on the lovely babies, i hope the new mums are enjoying these lovely few days, i can't wait :)

Catsycat · 08/05/2012 11:19

Well done Beeboles, lovely name too. Hope you are both doing well!

Hope all is well myweeangel!

mythical sounds like things are getting into gear for you! Sorry to hear there has been a loss in the family though.

Yorky DD2 weighed a good chunk heavier than your dainty little one! If scans are to be believed, this ones going to be a 10lb-er!!!

Went out to the RST last night to see The Tempest for my birthday. Turns out 37 weeks pg is not the time to sit in a theatre for nearly 3 hours!!! Had a nice time though (just v uncomfortable, lots of braxton hicks quite low down). I am starting to panic that I'll go into labour before the ELCS. The baby definitely feels low - lots of pressure and ominous twinges in my pelvis yesterday. I can now paint my toenails again, and bend over the bath to wash my hair - neither of which I could do last week! Keep telling myself I'm silly to worry with my previous history of going 18 and 15 days overdue, and never making it into full labour!

BlueCrane · 08/05/2012 13:08

Catsy don't say that about sitting in a theatre...DH has booked tickets to see Bill Bailey on thursday eve when I'll be 37+2!! Looking forward to it but hoping it's not tooo uncomfortable...he did say he booked the seats nearest the loo for me though which was quite a sweet thought and I'd better be on the end of a row otherwise I'll drive everyone nuts the amount of times I seem to need to go at the moment Smile

Is anyone else (first timer) starting to feel a slight sense of impending panic about their imminent arrival? The thought of labour isn't stressing me sooo much (what will be will just have to be eh?!?) but actually looking after a newborn is rather terrifying concerning me slightly at the moment Hmm I was washing some clothes for LO yesterday and suddenly looked at them thinking 'help...this little kicker inside me is going to be inside these little bodysuits in not that long' Shock it's all starting to get very real!!! Exciting, but terrifyingly real Grin

Congrats on the latest arrivals and hope all those where things have started moving have a good time of it!!

LimeFlower · 08/05/2012 14:01

saggy if you're 2nd timer you should know by now what it's all about sticks tongue out

mythical sorry about your MIL's loss.just cross your legs tightly :)

my belly still sitting high so no way of bending.

BlueCrane i try very hard to not to think about labour,it is somewhere at the back of my mind...hens spring to mind...bok,bok,bok,plop...here it is egg/baby :o

as for looking after-the thing I'm most afraid is when the baby starts crying and I won't have a clue why?feed, nappy, too warm/cold,in pain?the wee rompers look so tiny but after all the shannanigans(sp?)in my belly i know that the little one is not so fragile...

myweeangel · 08/05/2012 14:07

update! no contractions since waters broke yesterday and hoping to be induced this afternoon, just waiting for a bed, frustrated, excited, bored, nervous! hope to have news later, looking forward to reading all yours when i get a chance.

LimeFlower · 08/05/2012 14:37

good luck myweeangel ,hope they'll find a bed soon

Yorky · 08/05/2012 15:56

Myweeangel - good luck, I had that with DS1 - waters broke 6am Tues, a few twinges that day but nothing painful or regular, woke at 3am with mild contractions, woke DH at 6am Wed and baby arrived 1214!
Hope they find you a bed soon, must be frustrating feeling so near yet so far

Harecare · 08/05/2012 16:53

beepoles - Congratulations! I'd have liked Tom for a boy, but a friend got there first and I've had no boys!
myweeangel - good luck!!!!
2ndtimers - I was much more panicked 2nd time around. My 1st stage was just as long, but I think the pushing part was a bit quicker - and more terrifying! I know what worked better from the 1st time, so hopefully 3rd time lucky eh?
Sweep this morning, but the midwife couldn't get that far so was more of a poke than a sweep. Nothing!
I'm officially 10 days over. I was expecting to be early. AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!! How many times more will I hear "Are you still here then?"

mythical · 08/05/2012 16:57

fully sympathise harecare.. only 6 days over now but even my mum starts every chat message with
"sooo! anything yet??"
yes mum i've had the baby and didn't think to let you know!!!
(she lives in another country)
