Congratulations Yorky, how exciting! Hope you and your little one are doing well. Looking forward to hearing all about it, and DD's name...(as I'm fixated on thinking about girls names at the moment).

cupcakefairy · 25/04/2012 07:37

Wow yorky u snuck that one in quietly!! Come back & tell us about the birth etc when you can :) and v pleased for you I know you wanted a dd for practical reasons!!
Am also very jealous.. as I remember us both hanging on til June in the May 2010 thread.. I hope I won't be doing the same this time!!

Ooh lucky want to share any names you're considering? What sort of names do your dds have, traditional or wacky? Grin u don't have to say what they are..
I still keep having wobbles about our chosen names but think we will stick to them!

Wrigglebum · 25/04/2012 07:53

Congratulation Yorky and well done. Early but not too early!

Bodeccia · 25/04/2012 08:41

Congratulations Yorky, look forward to hearing your wee girl's name :)
Thanks Thanks

LadyMaybe · 25/04/2012 08:44

Hi ladies,
well, i'm going to have to change my name back to LadyBee, as it's no longer a maybe-baby, and neither was it a May bean. Rosalind Eliza was born on at 6:08 AM Sunday 22 April, 38+3, 7lb 8oz, successful VBAC with ventouse at the end as she was getting a little distressed, 28 minutes pushing and just over an hour of 'proper' labour after my waters were ruptured. She's lovely, no problems with her blood sugars after, and I've stopped all insulin etc. She's feeding well but I'm having a few issues with comfort - she had a tongue tie that was clipped but we're still learning to latch properly. Will be back on with a few more details when I get time. Absolutely thrilled and completely surprised that we got a little girl!

Bodeccia · 25/04/2012 08:46

Aww, more fab news. Congratulations Lady, delighted your wee girl is here. Beautiful name :)

Thanks Thanks

dreamingofanallotment · 25/04/2012 08:52

Congrats Lady! Thanks sounds like quite a speedy labour. Hope the feeding issues get sorted soon so you can both be more comfy. Enjoy your gorgeous little one!

oltob · 25/04/2012 09:05

congratulations goodname, yorky & lady. hope you're enjoying getting to know your little ones.
I hope to join the ranks soon, at my 38 wk check yesterday was told I'll be induced at 39+3 (or 1 by their dates). BP playing up, quelle surprise after waiting an hour and a quarter for my appt., and less inclined to fight induction this time as over 40 so would be encouraged to go at 40wks anyway. So one week left to get organised, Boots visit on the cards today.

Newtothisstuff · 25/04/2012 09:20

Congratulations lady !! X Grin

purestcocoa · 25/04/2012 10:02

It's all starting now! Congratulations Yorky and Lady. How exciting!

This is making if feel more real. I still can't imagine what it must feel like going through labour and then holding your precious LO.

Not long for you oltob. I hope it all goes well and at least you can get really organised. How does induction work exactly? I have been booked for my 40+10 induction. I am only 38+3 though. I am hoping to labour naturally so I can use the birth centre, but my mum and and close friend both had emergency c-sections so I am prepared for quick changes- well I think I am.

Also, my mum was overdue with my db when she was 40+( this was 11 years ago). She had no complications throughout her pregnancy, but she didn't realise that her waters had broken, which has made me paranoid about my waters breaking. I've been to the triage twice for mistaking watery discharge for my amniotic fluid. Blush

LimeFlower · 25/04/2012 11:06

Congratulations Lady !

Looks like we've got April surge of May babies :)

Congrats to LadyBee and Yorky!!
i am delighted for you!!
cant wait to hear more birth stories!

went to gap today and bought some newborn socks and an outfit too :)

Harecare · 25/04/2012 13:09

Congratulations Yorky, Lady, goodname.
Very jealous. No movement here (except DP into the loft...)

Catsycat · 25/04/2012 13:43

Well done Lady. Glad you got your VBAC, and that you and Rosalind Eliza are doing well. :)

cupcakefairy · 25/04/2012 14:10

Oh wow they really are coming in a rush now! Congratulations lady and what a gorgeous name! Fab that you got your vbac too. Hope the feeding improves, I really struggled with ds for a couple of weeks, persevere! (but don't feel pressured or guilt tripped either!)

Oh I just can't imagine waiting (potentially) another 5 weeks! Officially full term today and hospital bags got zipped up last night :)
For whomever was asking about snacks.. I have trebor mints in labour bag (along with energy drinks).. and bag of dried apricots in my after-bag to help my bowels!! The first thing I ate after having ds was actually a mars bar, at about 5am & it tasted soooo good so might have to add some chocolate :)

tostaky · 25/04/2012 15:57

Clearly nesting now!!! Thinking about the births we had gave me a well needed kick!!
Baby clothes are now in the wash. I have made some space for them in the cheat of drawers too.
Put some stuff for sale on gumtree, and pondering about whether to buy a new sling or a double pushchair....

GrinGrinGrinGrin baby!!!

Mikocat · 25/04/2012 17:50

Hello ladies, congratulations Goodname, Yorky and Lady!

After all day spent in the hospital having checks for pre-eclampsia they finally decided to take no chances and are inducing me tonight. It could take a while though as baby showing no signs of being close naturally (39+2).

LittleSarah · 25/04/2012 18:06

Good luck Mikocat! Wow it is all happening on this thread now. I'm still hoping this one waits at least a couple of weeks but after that GAME ON!

Bodeccia · 25/04/2012 18:24

Best of luck miko, hope it goes well :)
