I'm going to be an outrageous bump rubber in due course - I'm trying not to at the moment because we still haven't told anyone (beyond a few close friends/family), but I can't help it in private! Grin

Gizzy, I share your pain at not liking the wine! The scent of a good pinot noir or a riesling is so tempting but I can't quite bring myself to drink any. DH is still swilling it down as usual, huh. I don't really begrudge him the pleasure, but I'm still jealous!

CaptainHetty · 17/03/2012 11:36

Happy Saturday! Hope you're all well, just about to read through and catch up with you all.

Had a nice evening with OH but still can't shift this cold. Booking appointment this afternoon so frantically trying to keep the kids from making too much mess, just know as soon as she's left I'm going to give up, have a bath and put my PJs on, then mooch around and eat crap :o

To add to the banned film list: toy story 3!

CaptainHetty · 17/03/2012 16:13

Thunder yes, here the midwives come to you for the initial appointment. I think it varies depending on where you are. The NCT sale sounds fab, might have to see if there's any round here :o I'm considering using re-usable nappies this time around, never used them before though so need to do some research on them

She was here for an hour or so, everything is as it should be (she wouldn't listen for a heartbeat though, even though I asked very nicely :o ) and I see her again at 16 weeks. Thankfully she doesn't foresee an issue with me using a Midwife Led Unit for birth even though I had a post-partum haemorrhage last time, which I'm pleased about because I wanted to avoid the labour ward, really.

Now I'm off for my bath and PJs :o

Guccigirl79 · 17/03/2012 16:39

Thunder loving the sound of the NCT sale,I'm sure one of my friends goes to those so may ask if I can accompany her next time she goes :)

Went into town with dp earlier with the task of buying some maternity jeans, got as far as Next to be told I have to go online for maternity range or drive to B'ham or Bristol so not really impressed with that!! So we gave up after that & went to lunch!!

Hope you're all enjoying the weekend so far :) I'm dreading tomorrow as my own mum is no longer with us & my step mum is at best tricky to deal with let alone buy for, alas I havent done that either yet (I will burn in hell for being lazy about it!) as I never know what to get for fear of it not being good enough!!!

LoopyLa · 17/03/2012 17:18

Guccigirl my sympathies for tomorrow. My own (wonderful) Mum also finds tomorrow difficult since we lost my Nana (her Mum) 8 years ago. We all still miss her Sad I'm hoping to cheer her up with the fact she's going to be a Granny for the 5th time!

And I also have a stepmother who is probably the most crazy evil bitch on the planet...she'll be getting f.a. from me and I haven't seen her in years.

Sorry for the downer, not sure where THAT came from Confused

But think, next year, you'll be a Mummy and hopefully enjoy the day for a slightly different reason Smile

Re: jeans, could you not order online at all? Most return/refund services are quite good from online stores in my experience.

Bubblebell1 · 17/03/2012 17:47

Hello everyone,

Had a lovely day, popped to my mums and my grandparents so I could spend tomorrow with my lot Grin

Now laying on the sofa waiting til it's dark so i can go to bed. Blush

Hope you feel better soon captain.
Glad you didn't get swamped by the mobs at the nct sale thunder
Hope tomorrow isn't too sad for you gucci. Like loopy said next year you will have a lovely bundle of joy Smile

The Bigger h & m, newlook and dotty p stores have maternity ranges instore. Hope you find something x

Winnie81 · 17/03/2012 22:34

Hi everyone,

I have found a few maternity jeans and trousers in new look, they have a fair selection actually! I bought trousers for work as mine are getting tight and uncomfortable! Wink

Gucci, my sympathies are with you also as I lost my mum 16 years ago, gosh I hadn't realised it was that long ago Sad. It's a hard time of year as I really miss her. At least she is looking after my little Toby (ds1). Smile

Wishing everyone a lovely day tomorrow x

HeyMicky · 18/03/2012 07:33

Happy Mothering Sunday, everyone. Hope that those us with DCs are spoilt rotten - those of us who don't yet, this will be us next year!

My mother is in Oz, so I'm spending the day shopping for maternity clothes Grin

RnB · 18/03/2012 07:41

My sympathies Gucci, must be such a tough day for you Sad

Apparently I'm getting breakfast in bed today Smile, and a delicious dinner this evening. Have had roses too, and we're going to look around my favourite vintage shop later Grin

Anyone else starting to get uncomfortable lying on their back in bed? I'm 13 weeks now. This started pretty early last time too - feel like my womb is really heavy...much more comfortable on my side...

pinpan · 18/03/2012 09:19

Happy Mothers' Day everyone! Got my mum in NZ at the moment so we had a lovely day together, but she's flying home tomorrow though, howl. :( At least she has to come back in six or seven months to visit again!

RnB, I'm beginning to feel like I can feel something when I lie on my back, but it's still fairly comfortable so I'm making the most of it while I can - though I do think I'm getting more pins and needles in my legs when I do (I might just be making that up though!). I used to sleep on my front as a preference so now I'm mostly propping myself up with a pillow so I can pretend I'm face down without really putting any pressure where it shouldn't be.

MissPollysTrolleyed · 18/03/2012 16:15

Should we not be sleeping on our front? It's my failsafe way of getting to sleep so I go back to that position every time I wake up in the night for a pee.

HeyMicky · 18/03/2012 17:14

Superb baby brain effort today. Drove to Westfield, parked, shopped, got to checkout...no purse. DH had to schlep over on public transport to get me and the car out of the pay car park Blush

pinpan · 19/03/2012 06:26

MissPolly, I think if you're still comfy on your tummy it's probably fine - I've just found it a little restrictive up top the last few weeks. Enjoy it while you can! :)

In other news, got my blood tests back today and the odds of various nasties are something like 1 in 17000 and 1 in 100000, so I'm going round with a big Grin and working out how to start breaking the good news to everyone tomorrow!

LoopyLa · 19/03/2012 08:00

Happy Monday ladies Hmm

Told my Mum and my 2 sisters yesterday via Skype, it was awesome! My Mum squealed (at 64!! lol!) Grin and said it was the best mothers day prezzie ever. My sisters were dead pleased for me and one of them was hugely sympathetic to our TTC for almost 2 years, it was really sweet. Feels really good to get the news out there to the people closest to me, like I can really start looking forward to it now Smile

Bear1984 · 19/03/2012 10:20

LoopyLa that's lovely!

pinpan good to hear your tests came back good.

I had a terrible day yesterday. I didn't feel very well, and had to drive into London so DP could see his mother who's in care at the moment (long story). I ended up pulling over and having a complete breakdown because I was so stressed out and ill. Even DP's dad rang last night saying he was worried about me. I'm at work despite feeling like crap and wondering why I do this to myself lol.

Guccigirl79 · 19/03/2012 11:31

Thank you for all the kind words ladies they made me watery eyed!! :)
Yesterday wasn't too bad in the end, mother's day isn't really different to any other really as I miss my mum so much everyday more now if it's possible!! Anyhoo the step mother was very good much to my dismay & even called me 'darling'!!!! Shock The rest of the day was made up of my lovely brother & sil coming over & fussing over me lol

Will look for jeans online I think it is easier perhaps I just dont like going home empty handed lol

Have the rest of the day off with dp so will make the most of it while the sun is shining & I feel quite human!!

Hope you all have a lovely monday Thanks all round!!!

Bubblebell1 · 19/03/2012 12:51

Hey all. Glad everyone is ok.
Still feeling tired and sick in the evenings. 11 + 2 now and counting the days til my 12 week scan.

babybrain3 · 19/03/2012 13:02

bear go home!!! Snuggle up on the sofa and watch some telly. You need to look after yourself! Biscuit

Psammead · 19/03/2012 13:07

Hello everyone!

Hope you're all fine. Not much news here.

mrswoz · 19/03/2012 13:54

Hi all Grin Have been lurking for a few days, marking my place ready to join you officially tomorrow. Can't quite bring myself to add my name to the list til after my scan! Hopefully I will return with good news this time tomorrow - Sarah, 11 + 6

PS: gatecrashing the maternity jeans convo - I have had maternity jeans from eBay in the past, but they can sometimes end up costing as much as buying say a New Look pair, without knowing if they really fit! Confused all being well, I am going to get some on Thursday, both my local New Look shops stock maternity range so I am going there first.

LoopyLa · 19/03/2012 14:36

Welcome in advance mrswoz! Smile

bear - what babybrain said!!

MsInterpret · 19/03/2012 18:57

Monday's over now! How many days til the weekend...?

bear hope you went home and are now sound asleep or at least resting. Listen to your body. And MN!

Hi mrswoz

Not much to report here either except had a lovely Mother's Day here with DH, DD and DD's godmother, her DP and DS (my godson). So a LOT of mummy action in one house for the day Grin

pinpan · 19/03/2012 19:10

Hi mrswoz! Thanks, bear. I told one of my best buddies yesterday - she has a six month old - the first thing she said (after "squeee" and "congrat" etc.) was "Pamper yourself. Lots. Seriously." So, go forth and pamper!

Technically there are four days to survive until the weekend, but happily for me, Friday will mostly be taken up by jamborees for high ups leaving my company, so I only have to pretend to work for three. Smile
