Hi! Ladies.

I have posted on here once, but then ran. I've had two 2nd trimester miscarriages and am scared of everything and anything. Even though I haven't been posting I have been reading all your posts daily.

Anyhow I just wanted to say hello and to let you know that I am finally having a dating scan later today at 4pm. I am currently around 13+1. This will be DC4 for me (if all goes to plan) and I shall be 41. If everything goes well today, then I shall add myself to the list.

Tennerlady I believe has had a miscarriage, she was posting over on the Age 40+ in pregnancy thread and I read it there.

Well I'm all scanned, baby was reasonably mischievous but did manage to settle enough for the sonographer to do her thing and we got a lovely pic Grin but feel really sad that DH didn't get to see it :( I've told him he has to be back for the next one. I don't like to think of him going without, esp as he may not get to see a copy of this scan 'til the 25th.

My edd has moved too tho - by a week!!! I'm apparently 13+3 today!!! So despite early estimates we are no longer date buddies loopy but glad you have tartymcfarty.

I'm a little worried about jinxing things but... I've had no MS today or yesterday so am cautiously optimistic I've moved from that to the sleepless/heartburn/joint pain phase of tri 2...

MakeTeaNotWar · 18/04/2012 15:16

Here's a selfish question - I've just seen tix for a gig I would really really love to go to on Nov 24th. Bubs will be 6-8 weeks old at that stage, I'll probably still be bleeding and if this one is anything like DD, will be breastfeeding insanely frequently and an hour or two away from the baby will be excruciating - can I go do you think or am I mad to get tix?

LoopyLa · 18/04/2012 15:33

Brilliant Pheebs that's excellent! I'll add you to the list!

What's your actual EDD now?

Pheebs24 · 18/04/2012 15:41

Loopy I'm now due on 21st Oct - can't quite believe it, but hey, got the pics to prove it!

Maketea I say go for it! Nothing selfish about it - and you know best how you'll feel, and if you change your mind nearer the time you can often offload tix to others so as not to be out of pocket...

Hello! Sorry for not posting sooner! I've been busy today and was so tired by the time I got home last night. Was stuck at the hospital for 2 hours. I was examined twice so was really sore last night lol and had bloods taken too so they said once they get the results theyll let me know if I have to go back. The woman I saw said she doesn't think I have an infection. It's not a UTI for definite. She tried to hear baby's heartbeat which we heard in a scan but she couldn't find it. She kept saying that it was unlikely we'd be able to hear anything but still worried me a little but as it was a different piece of equipment she was using, I took her word for it.

So now just waiting to hear back on the results. Fingers crossed! My GP had given me a sick note but I've got Friday and Monday booked off anyway lol. Suppose to be going to a wedding on Friday and really not feeling up to it at the moment, but I have to be there whether I'm well or not. Oh well, just gonna take it easy tonight and tomorrow and rest as much as I can.

babybrain3 · 18/04/2012 18:19

Hi all, I'm sorry, Ive not posted for ages either, but have been keeping up daily... I just don't ever really have anything interesting to update you all on (what a boring life I lead) Confused

However, I have my 2nd midwife appt tomorrow, where I am really hoping I get to hear bumps heartbeat!

Hope everything all turns out ok for you bear and they work out what's going on!! Smile

RunningOutOfIdeas · 18/04/2012 18:54

Evening All. So good to hear everyone's good scan news. Hope Tennerlady is OK.

My ms stopped bang on 14 weeks. I was almost on a high all day Saturday, the difference from feeling crap all day was so great.

DH is away working again, but just for a week this time. DD has her 4th birthday party in a couple of weeks so I am going to have to get myself organised and sort out her cake and the party bags.

Good luck and best wishes bear, I really don't envy you the wedding either - hope you have a wingman person to move on other guests who get frustrating!

Oh no Running a childrens party with children's party food!!! If it were me I'd be buying twice as much in because I'd eat so much of it myself Blush

I rediscovered those party ring biscuits at my sisters a month or so back when the MS was making me feel really unwell and they helped for a bit, as did salt and vinegar crisps, and jelly, ooh teeny sausages too! And chocolate fingers, marshmallows, those rectangular chewy lolly things on sticks...

Pheebs24 · 18/04/2012 19:08

p.s. thanks for adding me Loopy!

RunningOutOfIdeas · 18/04/2012 19:17

It's the 18 three and four year olds that I'm not looking forward to. We are having the party at a soft play centre so I don't have to do much. I agree with you about the food though. I love party rings and hula hoops and chocolate fingers.

newtonupontheheath · 18/04/2012 19:20

Hi all, like babybrain3 life here is plodding on so I have been reading just nothing exciting enough to update!

Bear Hope they work out what is going on soon. Look after yourself and get people to bring you stuff Grin (cake and the like)

So 16 week appointment today...we heard the heartbeat and ds has been making train sounds all afternoon, so cute! It was lovely and so reassuring. I mentioned that in some places they won't even try until 20/24 weeks and mw just seemed to think it was about having the time to find it "these days" We have a new mw in our area who has been working in postnatal care for years and years do she was really excited to hear I want another home birth and asked if she could be invited! I said of course...might have to start selling tickets!! Apart from my scan at 20 weeks (14 may) my next appointment won't be until 28 weeks now as I'm low risk with second baby. This seems like forever to wait!!!!!!

Nothing else to report here, was sad to hear about tennerlady sending lots of love to her and her family.

Guccigirl79 · 18/04/2012 20:39

Aaaaggggghhhhhh!!!!! Just eaten the last lemonade lolly & I want another!!!!! Will defo be buying more tomorrow!!

Glad to hear eveything was ok Bear & sincere condolences to Tennerlady so sad to hear the tragic news.

Nothing else to report today not left the house & had a kip this afternoon & now DP had fallen asleep watching the football so I'm catching up on eastenders :)

TartyMcFarty · 18/04/2012 21:02

maketea, I bought tickets for a gig while PG. DD would have been 6mths, but it was an overnighter and I couldn't bring myself to go. It was as much knackeredness (I was back at work by then) as anything.

Bear1984 · 18/04/2012 23:15

Thanks all. I hope they can figure it out soon, or if my body could just fix itself and feel better, that's be great Grin

Pheebs I've got DP coming with me to look after me and carry my bag lol! DD is at a friend's that evening so we need to leave about 6ish anyway so least I don't have to be there all night :)

I was going to ask if anyone knew how many weeks pregnant you are from conception to birth? As obviously 40 weeks is from last period but we know the conception date (Blush) and was wondering if it would make our due date different to what we have been told it is. Just curious and wondering if we would meet baby a little bit earlier than we expected lol :)

pinpan · 19/04/2012 11:13

Good luck with the wedding on Friday, Bear! Eat lots of cake?

Not much news here - looking forward to the weekend and getting DH back from America Grin, and hoping that my mildly aching spine and hips are not harbingers of future joint-related doom. Hmm

Oh, and trying not to eat the entire packet of peanut M&Ms in one go.

Guccigirl79 · 19/04/2012 12:29

Tarty conception date is generally around a fortnight after your last period (mine is) so the fetal age is two wks give or take behind how many weeks pregnant you are.I dont really know why they work it this way as it works out you're two pregnant before you actually are! That's how I have worked it out anyway. There is an app you can download to your phone that gives you how many wks you are & how many wks the fetus is.It's called 'happy pregnancy'. Hope that's a help :)

Beeblebear · 19/04/2012 13:53

Pinpan - I hear you on the hips hurting. My tailbone and where my left hip connects at the back have been sore for two weeks.

Had my dh doing handstands on my lower back last night to try and help. Only 13+5 today. Isn't it too early for these aches and pains?

MissPenteuth · 19/04/2012 14:41

Checking in while DD naps as I've been so rubbish at posting on this thread that it's fallen off my Threads I'm On Blush

Not much to report; had 16w appt on Tuesday and heard the baby's heartbeat. I had to ask though, and she said it was quite early but she'd try. Took a while to find it as the baby is still way down low. Got 20w scan in 5 weeks, then 25w appt after that. In the meantime I've got a long weekend in New York, a holiday with ILs in Montenegro and Croatia and a trip to see my parents in Edinburgh. All in May!

Bear the '40w from last period' relies on you having a 28-day cycle, which isn't always the case. So starting from conception-minus-two-weeks might be more accurate. But there's also the fact that sperm can survive up to 7 (I think) days, so conception date isn't necessarily the day you, ahem, do the deed, it could be a good few days later. I went by the EDD I was given at the scan as my periods had been very irregular since coming off the pill (both in my last pregnancy and this one).

LoopyLa · 19/04/2012 15:41

Bear my conception date was 2 days after my DTD date...you may not have wanted to know this but I have shared it anyway Grin

Bear1984 · 19/04/2012 16:44

Thanks MissPenteuth and lol Loopy! I was just curious but lets face it baby can come anytime when ready lol. DD was born at 36 weeks so I'm wondering if this baby will be similar.

babybrain3 · 19/04/2012 20:05

I just missed out on an icandy on eBay that didn't sell as no one bid on it. DP said it was too far to pick up Sad would have taken an hour and a half roughly... Is quite a long way, but missed out on a bargain SadSadSadSadSadSadSad hope another one comes up..... Hopeful emoticon..

babybrain3 · 19/04/2012 20:11

In other news my mw appt was even less inspiring than my booking appt. Just wizzed through my blood results took blood for my nuchal test, took blood pressure and weighed me and that was it. Don't think I will see them again until 28 wks now apart from when I get the results from the nuchal test Sad I shall be demanding to hear the heartbeat then... Wink
