Fanbelt - think its impossible to keep anything tidy or clean with kids at home!
Also really need to clean our bathrooms but somehow it always ends up at the bottom of the list of things to do!

Tea - hope tonight is uneventful!

Kveta · 12/04/2012 21:45

hope tonight is quiet for you Tea and you get some sleep.

Just gotta say Haagen Dazs Pralines & cream - half price in Tescos at the mo' - yum! Grin

(Also watching Long Lost Families on ITV1 and can't stop crying - but in a good way.)

DairyNips · 12/04/2012 23:33

Spoke to the midwife tonight. She said if the midwife who did my check up had plotted the measurements on the chart in my notes and it was in the grey area then it was fine. I looked and told her it hadn't been plotted on the chart, just the measurement written in my notes. She said I could probably plot it myself on the chart easily enough to check and call them if there was any problem.
So, I plotted the last 3 measurements in pencil and they go diagonally down in a line, the last measurement is outside of the grey area. I called back and told her this and she said to go back in at 10.30 tomorrow morn and they'll double check it and see if I require a scan. Only bummer is, if I do need a scan I'll have to drive to the Wansbeck hosp which is 67 miles away! They do haste a scan clinic here but only one day a week I think..Hmm

smallwonder · 13/04/2012 05:45

dairy good for u, at least someone knows what they're doing Hmm hope u do get the scan for your own reassurance but shame about the drive -- let us know how you fare this morning.

tea how are u doing?

cathfin it's impossible! I did manage a well organised and decluttered kitchen, spare room and my bedroom which are heavily monitored :) everywhere else is play area space according to the laws of little children. My eldest is like me and gets frustrated with mess so is good to have around, others just don't understand and cut my work out. Kids are going on small break next week so will hopefully do the rest before I really can't!

Hope you're well Warlin and all others.

I've been up since 4:30 Hmm bed is so uncomfy when the kicking and backache starts. Kids will be up and I'll be cream crackered....

Thanks for listening :)

TeaandHobnobs · 13/04/2012 06:33

Morning smallwonder! just had another bleed I'm afraid so I'm back on the labour ward AGAIN so they can monitor us. BabyTea is happy as Larry as usual. As last night, I'm getting tightenings every 6 mins or so, but they are not too uncomfortable - they think my uterus is just grumpy Grin
This is getting tiresome Hmm

Dairy good work challenging them! Hope they get to the bottom of it today, but poo if you have to do that long drive Sad

I'm enjoying this morning's view over the Thames Grin - one of the many reasons I love this hospital! (Tommies)

Hope you all have good days today Smile

McKayz · 13/04/2012 06:51

Tea have they told you what happens next? Are you likely to be in hospital for the long haul now? I'm pleased that BabyTea is fine though.

Dairy hope all goes well today. It's silly you have to drive so far for your scan.

I had a rubbish sleep last night. Couldn't get comfy, needed several loo trips and DH was snoring. We're going back to in laws today to help them with a show so should be able to sleep in the car.

Boysrstupid · 13/04/2012 07:54

Mornin Ladies,

My first thought when I woke was to wonder if Tea had managed a leak free night. I'm really sorry you haven't, it's reassuring to know BabyTea is not showing signs of distress. What on earth is wrong with you woman?!

Dairy I'm sorry your concerned, These bump measurements are frequently inaccurate. They told me DS1 was HUGE and I wouldn't carry to term yada yada - He arrived on time at a very respectable 7lb. Extra scan would be a lovely treat for you - huge drive not so much! Can somebody else do the driving for you?! Keep us posted please.

Kveta · 13/04/2012 08:04

Oh tea, what a crappy week you're having! Wonder why they can't find a cause for the bleeding, but thank god baby is looking ok still. Fingers crossed they can find a reason and a remedy soon. Enjoy your view in the mean time!

OP posts:
DairyNips · 13/04/2012 08:28

Thanks for the messages ladies. Usually my dh would take flexi time to take me if I need a scan but today one of his 4 man team is on holiday and the other is at an all day meeting so there's no way he can get any time off. Mil is going to watch the boys whilst I go to the unit for my check up which is nice. There's a chance fil might drive me down but depends how much work he has on today (he's a self employed Plummer)

tea Sorry you had another bleed but glad baby is just fine. How frustrating for you that it keeps happening and they can't tell you whyConfused Fingers and toes crossed all is smooth sailing from now on.

rrrayray · 13/04/2012 08:32

Hi all. Sorry for my quietness. All just been a little mad over here.

House move delayed again as bathrooms not finished. Going to be moving at gone 34 weeks pregnant. Glory! Urgh!

Tea - sorry to hear you are in hospitial and having these unexplained bleeds. At least your in a wonderful hospitial with all the medical help on hand if necessary. Got everything crossed for you.

Dairy (I think it was you. Baby brain) sorry you are concerned about bump
Measurements. I think Mws often measure quickly and not that accurately. Unfortunately those growth scans are equally unreliable for weight wise. Scan a few days before i delivered DD said she was only just over 5lb. She was 6lb6!

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 13/04/2012 08:37

Morning all!

Tea - so sorry you're having such a tricky time of it. Hope the medics can give you some reassurance and a bit of an idea of what the plan is.

Dairy - hope all goes well this morning.

Welcome to new folks!

I've been mad busy at work and home so haven't been on much.

Just need a bit of a rant to get this off my chest....

Spent all four days of Bank Holiday weekend plus evenings this week getting our bedroom painted and ready for the carpet fitting this morning. Then last night, DH managed to kick over a jug full of white spirit that was soaking a paint brush. Although we had a plastic dust sheet down, there were holes in it after being down for a week and the white spirit has soaked in to the floor boards over quite a large area Angry. No idea if we can have a carpet fitted over it or not - probably not. To say I'm a tad miffed with DH would be an understatement. I've been very relaxed through this pregnancy so far but by the time I went to bed last night I was so angry / upset I was shaking. I just want the bloody bedroom finished - three weeks of sleeping on a mattress on the lounge floor is enough. I dread waking up for a pee in the night and having to haul myself off the floor and go upstairs to the loo (hips / pelvis rather sore in the night / don't work especially well until I've been up for a while!). Need the carpet layed so we can build the new bed and move back upstairs. Waiting to speak to carpet fitters to see what they recommend. Arrrrggghhhhhh.

Hope you all have a good Friday and may your floors be white spirit free Grin

lostlenore · 13/04/2012 09:06

Thanks for the welcomes! No, dairy, the sex is a mystery!

Tea I'm so sorry your body is still playing tricks on you, but Tommies is an amazing hospital with world class Drs and they have an awful lot of expertise with premature births, so I would say you are in the best place if BabyTea does make a dramatic entrance. My 2yo DD was born at 32 weeks and although she did need 9 days in SCBU and we were in hospital for another week after that she is fine now, just refusing to talk.

Hope everyone else ok!

Warlin · 13/04/2012 10:41

Morning all

Oh tea so sorry you are still bleeding. Will you be in until the birth now? Such a relief that LO happy though...I'm sure you just want them to get to the bottom of the cause..thinking of you xxx

SSC oh know..your DH must be so annoyed with himself though...how frustrating though. Try not to stress though...not good for LO!

rray sympathies about the house. We moved last week and it has taken so much out of me. Just make sure when it does happen you delegate everything!! I must say DH has been great doing all the donkey work and getting organised. It is stressful though! Fingers crossed you get moved and settled before LO arrives.

Dairy hope your FIL takes you for the scan...good on you for taking control....can't rely on NHS!

Wow McKayz that sounds big...they all do develop at different rates though so hopefully yours is having an early growth spurt and will average out.

small I'm with you on the lack of sleep front.

I'm working from home today...so nice on a Friday! With our office move I'm blaming the fumes and dust and upheaval so need to work from home more :) DH on half day so going to look for cots this aft. I've seen one I love on John Lewis website but want to look around a bit more first. Mum bought me some really cute baby stuff from America...

Is anyone else struggling not to put foot in it to friends as regards sex...?? I let slip yesterday after mentioning the boys school we would consider for LO!!!! Oops!

Kveta · 13/04/2012 10:55

I'm working from home too Warlin, 3 days in the office (well, commuting each way) has wiped me out! and had long conf call last night, so late to bed, yawn! I'm not sure why, but now I'm getting closer to term, work seems to just be piling up like mad, and everyone I speak to suggests a paper we can write together - in 5 weeks or so?! So I am drafting manuscripts right left and centre, and trying not to plagiarise too much in the process :p

just washed the baby carrier sis gave back to me, and shock horror, after a single 40 degree wash, it's pristine again. I am still so bloody angry at her! have got all the wee white clothes soaking in vanish too.

Dairy hope all is well, and you don't end up driving all day!

McKayz will you have more growth scans? I have one at 36 weeks to look forward to (less than 4 weeks away, yikes). With DS in attendance, which will be fun. He keeps asking ridiculous questions, like 'does baby sister have arms?' and 'is baby sister crying now mummy?'. She kicks him a lot whilst he's nursing, which would be sweet if he didn't try to kick back Hmm I feel like a punch bag!

He was v. sweet this morning though - came into our room and asked for milk, so DH said 'what kind of milk?' and DS said 'real milk' so we were going 'um, cow's milk?'. 'No. Mummy milk. Yummy milk. NOT cow's milk'. So that was nice, and made me feel less like strangling him when he started biting mid-feed.

I am so bloody tired right now. Sleep is too elusive. monday night I was up all night despite taking an antihistamine, and tuesday night wasn't much better. I've found that having a snack immediately before bed helps though, as I have started getting very very sick in the morning again because I'm so hungry. Baby will be huge at the rate I'm putting food away, but I have been almost gnawing on the pillow a few nights recently. Don't remember this from last pg, but then we used to have dinner at 8ish, and now have it at 5 with DS!

right, better get back to my manuscripts, yay. 5 or 6 weeks left at work now, eep!

DairyNips · 13/04/2012 13:25

Just a quick update as I'm off for a napSmile

Different midwifes remeasured me and got me as 33cm (I'm 32) bit of a difference from the 27cm measurement of yesterdayHmm. The midwife who measured me yesterday was there and was a bit arsey and defensive tbh. She said 'I think if I'd have measured as 27 weeks when you're 32 I would have done something about it' 'I probably just wrote the wrong number down as we were chatting away'. She was trying to make lite of it and I got the impression she was covering her back a bit. It made me feel awkward as I clearly remember her saying to me, as she was measuring me 'you're measuring 27cm and you're 32wks so that's fine'. Either she is really dizzy or she needs retraining in how to measure people.

I don't think it was unreasonable of me to question such a measurement in my notes but she made me feel like I was telling her her job. Well I'm sorry but if you're not going to do your job accurately then things like this will happen. I'm sure any normal person would be concerned when looking at their notes to see they were measuring 5 weeks smallConfused I could hardly not question it!

The midwife who remeasured me was arsey too, kept saying the other midwife must have just had the wrong number in her head and would have sent me for a scan if she thought it was necessary. She showed me the tape measure once she measured me as if I wouldn't believe her measurements and seemed to want me in and out as quick as poss.

I'm left feeling a bit annoyed by the whole experience tbh. I was just concerned for my baby and it was them who made an error so they had no need to make me feel bad for questioning that errorAngry

TeaandHobnobs · 13/04/2012 13:51

Oh DairyNips that's crap, they both deserve a slap! Angry

(didn't mean for that to rhyme Blush)

Kveta · 13/04/2012 13:55

very crap indeed Dairy, what a pair of bitches. Angry on your behalf.

Tea how are things with you on this fine friday the 13th?!

OP posts:
TeaandHobnobs · 13/04/2012 14:42

Doing ok thanks Kveta Smile

They moved me back to the antenatal ward about 10am, and the bleeding has settled again to very minimal. However, I am just sort of waiting for the next occurence Hmm Sad

I think the plan is to see how things go over the weekend and take it from there...

Hope you manage to get some good rest this weekend!

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 13/04/2012 15:32

Dairy - sorry you had to deal with such a pair of arses. Enjoy your nap and hope you feel less Angry when you wake up!

Tea - glad things seem okay for the time being. Hoping for a quiet weekend for you.

Well, carpet is laid here and boiler has been serviced. Freshly painted skirting boards were a bit scuffed during the carpet fitting but in all fairness I forgot to tell them that they'd only been painted a few days ago so not their fault - and to be honest, I'm too bloody glad to see that carpet to care!

Just need DH to come home and help me fit the curtain rail, door knobs and build the bed and we'll be one night's kip away from being back in a proper bedroom! Thank god. Grin

DairyNips · 13/04/2012 16:25

Grintea your rhyme has cheered me up! Feel a bit better after my nap. If they wanna be bitchy they can be, all I care about is that baby is okSmile

Sorry you keep getting moved around and that the bleeds keep happening. Good it's stopped for now, hopefully it won't keep on happening but you're in the best place x

ssc hooray for the carpet! Soon you'll be back upstairs near the loo where you belongSmile

gwenniebee · 13/04/2012 23:18

Tea - hope things have stayed calm so far....
Dairy - sounds like they felt a bit caught out... and so they jolly well should have done!
Seriously - hurrah for carpet! And you have my admiration for not being annoyed about the skirting boards..!

We have taken on and defeated the wallpapering in the nursery today... and, despite having some moments, are still talking to each other. The wallpaper looks really good and goes very well with emulsion we put on the other walls yesterday. (We chose phenomenally expensive wallpaper, so in the end we papered a "feature wall" which in all honesty is more of a "feature recess"!! Looks better than it sounds...) We started doing the gloss paint too but I think neither of us is entirely convinced by the colour. Hopefully by the time we have hung the curtains etc it will all blend together nicely!

SmallBee has come around from his/her lazy time so my insides have been returned to trampoline status. I'd rather that than the mild panic of yesterday morning, though. Feel very much like I've been on my feet all day so off to bed now :)

Sleep well, all.

CathFin · 14/04/2012 07:12

Dairy - what muppets. Why can't people just apologise these days and admit they did it wrong??

Tea - hope its all quiet for you.

Hope everyone has a good weekend - we had thunder just around 6am this morning - one huge crack of it, but my two are up and very busy already (I need a yawn smiley).
Off for a haircut at 9am though and hopefully daddy will take over for the rest of the morning.

Need to rearrange our furniture so the cot is in our main bedroom and a chest of drawers will have to go in the 'spare' bedroom. Havn't quite decided whether the baby will end up with a rather big room to itself or go in with one of the DC's.

smallwonder · 14/04/2012 07:22

Morning all,
Tea How are you this morning? Hope you're well and comfortable!
dairy don't know why they couldn't just admit the obvious mistake and apologise for making you worry, how annoying Hmm
SSC oh no to white spirit disaster but yay to almost having bedroom in order!
gwennie sounds like the decorating is going well
kveta I feel so lazy and a bit of a cop out when I read you're in work another 5 weeks!! Don't know how u all do it. Glad the borrowed items came up pristine -- that's something.
Hi to Lostlenore and Warlin. Hopefully haven't missed anyone who posted yesterday.

Iron tabs are making me sick as usual so postponing blood test until I'm confident that I'm keeping some iron down. Do not want those infusions again, hated them last time. Now that relative has left I have moved into spare room far from DHs snoring and comfier bed, DH has suddenly become a snorer and it drives me barking -- he is in denial! Cocodamols are awful for constipation wish I could stop them but no way right now and finding that if I'm busy in the day really suffer at night to the point of tears. That's my wee moan for the weekend :)
Have a good day all

smallwonder · 14/04/2012 07:23

Hi Cathfin :)
