Well said blondie, you're all lovely Smile

TeaandHobnobs · 12/04/2012 01:04

Ahhhhhhhhh another bleed!!! This time (serious TMI warning) accompanied by passing a clot that, no joke, was the size of a steak Shock Sorry, I know that is seriously disgusting, but it is still massively freaking me out!

Thing is, they don't know why. Cervix still closed, LO still happy. They chucked me over to the delivery ward to keep a closer eye on me to see if the bleeding settles down or not - if not, could be headed for a transfusion and/or delivery

Don't want to call DH yet as he was so knackered after last night's 3am hospital run... But I want a hug Sad

Kveta · 12/04/2012 06:50

Oh tea, poor you :( hope you are ok and your Dh is there with you too.

CathFin · 12/04/2012 07:27

Tea - sounds rather more worrying but odd that they can't see why it's happening. I really hope it stops soon and they get you sorted out.

I met up with friends yesterday and a friend of a friend has just had her LO at 32 weeks as her waters went at 30 weeks. They are doing fine but its odd to think some of us might get to meet our babies so much earlier than expected.

My baby is sitting very uncomfortably - wondered it if had managed to turn upside down and last night it seemed as if it must be doing something very odd as my ribs really hurt but the only movements I was feeling were v low down - today it seems to be back to the more normal routine of sticking bits out all over my tummy. Ouch anyway.

McKayz · 12/04/2012 07:37

Tea thinking of you. I hope everything works out ok. I hope your DH is there with you.

Boysrstupid · 12/04/2012 08:17

Tea I've got nothing productive to offer (except u made me cry & I'm not even out of bed yet)
I am sending LO strong stay where you bloody well are vibes.
I don't know if this will help, I've been where you are and very much doubt hearing a strangers bullshit would have made me feel better but, on the off chance:
Ds2 born at 29wks weighing 2lb2oz. 13long weeks in neo, home oxygen until 2yo.
He is now a happy, healthy, very intelligent, sociable 8yo & those days seem like a film I might have once watched.
It's truly scary and an awful thing to go through, I'm just trying to let you know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Am thinking about you & hope that they find a less sinister cause so LO can stay cosy and warm.

Had a whole lot of stuff to sort out in my head, been awol from RL too a bit. Back now in a good place & would entertain you all with tales of nesbit ex tell you all about it if I wasn't restricted by crappy phone.

I'll make the first Brew of the day Ladies, help yourselves.

emblosion · 12/04/2012 08:23

tea ((hug)) for you, hope you are ok and that everything works out. All v scary but it sounds like they are keeping a close eye on you and you are in the best place if you do need to deliver early- not much comfort I know. Hang in there tea and babytea!

ffnorm · 12/04/2012 08:34

Tea sending big hugs and good vibes ( I remember passing such a large clot when I had undiagnosed retained placenta after DS was born,it's a really weird sensation) really hope they can get to the bottom of it... Hopefully as cervix closed, water unaffected and baby good,it will all be ok. Thanks Hopefully your DH will be there soon!!

SpecialJK · 12/04/2012 09:05

tea sending all my best 'stay put' vibes too. Although from your previous posts, LO sounds like he/she is strong and healthy with good kicking, so that is positive.

cathfin my baby was doing exactly the same last night, the pain under my left ribcage was excruciating for about an hour.

DH came in from the pub and had to get relegated to the spare room as I couldn't stand the beer smell.

Off to pick up my gaviscon prescription from the doc's today, and not a moment too soon, was about to bankrupt myself buying the stuff

TeaandHobnobs · 12/04/2012 09:44

Thank you ladies, your lovely words mean a lot Smile

Felt a lot better this morning - DH has been in and gone to work now. Bleeding has eased off again, but they are concerned if it happens again, we might be looking at delivery.
Only there is a shortage of NICU cots in London at the moment, so although they have said they won't transfer me if I am bleeding, it could mean that baby gets transferred after delivery. But if it means he is well looked after, then that's all I care about. The whole idea is pretty overwhelming though, I guess it never crossed my mind that I might go early!

Thanks Boys and CathFin for your stories - they do help me to think positively Smile

Kveta · 12/04/2012 10:11

Tea will send non-bleeding vibes your way! how many weeks are you now? 29+6 today? let's hope baby stays put for a few more weeks, but even so, at 30 weeks he should be healthy and hearty! keeping my fingers crossed for you (which should explain any typos :o) Glad your DH was able to come in and see you too. Let us know if you're bored and need some internet based distractions too :o I have PLENTY of sites to share!! Thanks for you!

OP posts:
DairyNips · 12/04/2012 10:43

tea Hoping the bleeding stops and baby stays put for as long as poss. If delivery needs to be early I know it's not you expected but I'm sure you're in very good hands. ((hugs))

gwenniebee · 12/04/2012 10:44

Aww Tea I am thinking of you and seriously hoping your little tea stays put. Good that your DH was able to come in... that's the thing I dread most, not being able to keep him with me at all times and in all places! As others have said though, it is good that we are all far enough on now the our LOs have a fair chance of being happy and healthy now :)

I had a Positive Doctor Experience this morning... hurrah! When I moved house I got off to a rocky start with my drs, entirely because the receptionists were so unhelpful, so I always go fearing the worst. However, whenever I have seen the drs themselves they have been lovely. This morning I went for gaviscon and to have a mole on my back checked out... all fine, but SmallBee had been exceptionally still since about 3pm yesterday (the sort of still that wakes you in the night thinking "But I should be being kicked awake now...") and as the other things had been very quick to deal with, I asked the GP if she'd have a listen, which she did very happily and he/she is beating away merrily, just not kicking.... lazy baby. She did say the head's under my ribcage though, which it wasn't at my last mw appt so I jolly well hope it turns itself around again, or it'll have ME to answer to. Angry

Off to help DH sorting our the nursery pre-decorating! Yay! Have good days, one and all!

PinkPanther27 · 12/04/2012 11:04

Hi Tea, glad to hear they're looking after you, it must be so worrying for you. Strange about the clot - I immediately thought "oh that must have been the mucus plug" but obviously not. Maybe its just the baby doing a bit of spring cleaning down there Wink Seriously though, thinking of you and hoping baby stays put for a bit longer, you're in the safest place.

Group B Strep update - I have ordered the private testing kit which sounds v reliable despite the consultant telling me that none of them were any good and have a large bottle of acidophilus probiotics and some garlic cloves, let the battle commence! Got a Dr's appt this afternoon to see if I'm well enough to return to work before I go on maternity leave in 3 weeks. Bought some v pretty nighties this morning for my hospital bag from M&Co of all places - in the sale too!

Cathfin, sorry to hear that you are uncomfortable - rib pain is one of the worst. I rmember reading a post from someone saying that they got some relief by putting their arm behind their head. My bump seems very low and red this morning, gonna ask the Dr to examine me and tell me where my baby is lying.

10000fireflies · 12/04/2012 13:57

Tea sending you and your baby lots of positive vibes. xxx

McKayz · 12/04/2012 14:14

Tea hope your ok. Fingers crossed that baby can stay in and the bleeds stop.

My Internet is knackered Sad it's taking ages to load anything. I've been trying to post about MW visit for about an hour.

Just had MW appointment. I have to see a consultant and have another scan to compare the sizes on both.

I said I am happy to go to the MLU instead of a homebirth. MW said that they don't induce or do CS usually. They don't like the babies to get too big but if I am happy to try naturally then it should be fine. I am measuring 34cm today though and I am only 30 weeks.

It might all be pointless though as baby is breech. She's been breech since my 28 week appointment. I alway feel like I have a head in my ribs. So I need her to move!

DairyNips · 12/04/2012 14:32

McKayz looks like I'm the opposite to you. I am 32 weeks but today at my check up I'm sure the midwife said I am measuring 27 weeks (will have to double check notes but I'm sure that's what she said). I'm not surprised as the last two times I started measuring small around this point. Both ds's we're under 7lb so looks like I might be the same again. Was secretly hoping wondering if I'd get a growth scan but she said the measurement was fine..

Warlin · 12/04/2012 16:10

Hi All

wrote a long post earlier and then had to turn my work computer off....we are moving offices today (just our section)...well I say move, I am staying put as there is no point for 6 weeks and they haven't worked out an office for me yet....just feels my time to go. Now stuck in an office all alone and miles from my time..on the plus side will have plenty of time for MN and shopping!

tea keeping everything crossed for you..really hope you and LO are ok. At least if you did end up going ealier (worst case scenario) LO would be ok. Fingers crossed it stay put a while longer! In the meantime try and relax. Sorry that's all the advice I can give and know it's easier said than done!

McKayz and Dairy hope your babies are both measuring ok. As we are going privately I get given the weight rather than bump measurement so I'm not sure how mine compares. At my last apt when I was 29 weeks, Lo one 3lbs exactly (which they said was bang on average but I thought sounded quite big!). Bump has grown loads in last couple weeks so dreading going back in 2 weeks and being told he's 5/6 lbs already....having these nightmares of a 10lb baby with a massive head having to come out of there!!

Welcome back boys...I had been wondering where you had gone.

Baby brain moment...can't remember who said about the waxing...would waxing not be very sore at the minute? My skin seems so much more sensitive. DH has offered to do my shaving for me but don't know about that Blush. Might have no alternative as don't think I could cope with the natural look for 7 weeks.....!!!!

My parents are home from holiday today and I can't wait to see them. I've really missed having them to help me with house move etc..It's funny as although I have DH, I always miss my mum when she's not there. :)

CathFin · 12/04/2012 17:33

Actually thinking about it when I had DD back in 2008 one of the parents in our baptism class had their little girl at 30 weeks - she was super cute, especially next to DD who was (ahem) chunky.
Hope the bleeding has calmed down Tea and you have a peaceful night tonight.

DairyNips · 12/04/2012 17:40

Wow warlin how does that work? Do you get a scan everytime?

I checked my notes, seems my measurements are going down as time goes byHmm I was 29cm at 28 weeks, 28cm at 30 weeks and 27cm at 32 weeks. I remember the last few times I started to measure smaller than my dates towards the end but I can't remember if the measurements went up then down like now or just slowed down. Maybe will call the midwife later for reassure want this is ok. I know in my heart it probably is ok cause I just make little babies but it's nice to have my mind put at rest iyswim.

Boysrstupid · 12/04/2012 18:43

Warlin HELLO!!! I was waxed y'day. No more unpleasant than usual and I fully intend to continue right up until D/day. Also, I had scan last week at 27+6 (High risk so get my nhs freebies 4weekly woo hoo) Babé weighing in at 2.7 then so I think 3lb for 30wks is average.

Tea I'm hoping no news is good news, genuinely you are in my thoughts.

gwenniebee · 12/04/2012 18:57

I was waxed last week too.. usually do it myself but combo of can't reach and last time I did it (ahem... ages ago...) it being extremely painful put me off a bit. Anyway, went to frightfully nice place in my mum and dad's village last week and was neither painful nor horrific :) Neither was the lady Shock about my yucky hairiness. I shall go again before baby arrives.

Done first coats of nursery today :) This involved first of all putting up a gazillion shelves in our sitting room to house all the books that currently live in the soon-to-be-not-so-spare room. Seemed to take a lot of preparation, but walls now a tasteful shade of cream. Much like they were before, then.... Hmm

Shattered now though...........

Tea do hope everything continues ok........

TeaandHobnobs · 12/04/2012 19:17

Thanks ladies! Has been a brilliantly uneventful day - bleeding has settled down again / virtually stopped, so fingers crossed that continues through the night, and things will really be looking up Smile

On the subject of size, at the scan I had yesterday, BabyTea (love that name - thanks whoever coined that!) was measuring about a week ahead of his dates.

I'm sure it will all be ok Dairy and McKayz, I guess babies just come in all sorts of sizes for various or no reasons!

Just waiting for DH to arrive for his post-work visit, then will see who is on duty tonight and bed down for some kip in this sauna

I successfully knitted BabyTea a tiny bootie today! Grin

Fanbelt · 12/04/2012 19:17

Tea hope the bleeding has calmed down a bit today and LO hangs in there a bit longer. Thinking of you and sending hugs your way Thanks

Getting really fed up with our house being a total tip at the moment. A combination of having moved stuff out of the spare room to decorate it, having two children home on school holidays for two weeks and me not having the energy to get things tidied up. My mum has offered to pay for a cleaner to come in before LO is born to do a proper Spring Clean which would be fab (I think she was a bit horrified by the state of our loos last time she visited Blush ).

McKayz · 12/04/2012 20:08

Warlin I was told that baby should weigh 2lb 12oz at 29 weeks. But mine was 4lb 4oz.

I don't feel so worried now though. MW seemed happy enough to let me give birth naturally. I need to start looking at making a proper birth plan now I guess.

Tea hope you and BabyTea are ok.
