Warlin · 11/04/2012 12:05

Oh and had another classic baby brain moment just before the bank holiday weekend.....received a new mastercard and cut up my working switch card instead of the old mastercard by mistake....oops! Had to call into bank with tail between my legs yesterday!! I couldn't understand why my card wasn't working with the right pin until DH saw the obvious mistake Grin

This seems normal behaviour for me now...is anyone else getting baby brain moments......??!

MammaInTheMaking · 11/04/2012 12:13

Yep, Warlin. I tried telling my DP that right and left were the other way round. I was so sure of it too. Quite scary really now i think about it!

McKayz · 11/04/2012 12:34

Very quick post to let Tea know I'm thinking of you. Hope all is ok.

ChateauMargot · 11/04/2012 13:45

Kveta, that is awful! Ick, ick, ick...

Hello to all newbies, and Tea, hope you're hanging in there ok. Big waves to everyone else!

Those of you hoping for a water birth - what do you intend to wear, if anything? Am hoping we'll manage to get a pool at the MLU and though I've heard lots of women go starkers I think I'd probably want at least something to preserve my modesty in the early stages before things get funky... Have been keeping an eye out for tankini tops, but they're all either exceedingly tropical-holiday looking or else the wrong shape/size to accomodate the bump!

MammaInTheMaking · 11/04/2012 14:49

If i get to use a pool then i'll be going in starkers!! I'm 1/2 Scandinavian so it'd be rude not to :o

CathFin · 11/04/2012 15:02

Chateau - I was nekkid - to be honest it didn't really cross my mind to wear anything in the pool!

DairyNips · 11/04/2012 15:10

Um hasn't really thought of what to wear.. Maybe a cheap vest/bikini top or possibly nothing depending on how comfy I feel.

Kveta · 11/04/2012 15:29

no pool plans for me, but when I had DS I was in a hospital gown - or so I thought, but looking back at photos, I wasn't really in the gown, more in the vicinity of it :o by the time he arrived I didn't give a toss who saw what!

suspect it will be a hospital gown again this time tbh. lets them deal with the incinerating cleaning. which reminds me, must start identifying unwearable pants for post-birth - took some old ones along last time and just binned them each time I changed them :o

OP posts:
gwenniebee · 11/04/2012 15:39

Hehe kveta the idea of you being "in the vicinity of the gown" has made me chuckle....

I'm hoping to be in the water and have sort of assumed I'd wear my brand spanking new mothercare tankini. Bought it in the sale in January and it still has its labels on... (In fairness to me, I fully intended to go to aqua natal classes in it, but then I discovered the only ones in my area are miles away at 10.30 on a Monday morning... when I'm in the middle of doing a spelling test with a class of 8 year olds.....) Given current form, it will still be brand spanking new when SmallBee arrives.

ChateauMargot · 11/04/2012 15:50

Ooh, lots of votes for going au naturel, then. gwenniebee, I shall check out the mothercare tankini...

emblosion · 11/04/2012 16:14

Quick post from me too, am stuck with mobile internet as we managed to cut through our BT/wireless cable whilst doing DIY (SO stupid) goodness knows when that will be fixed!

tea am thinking of you, glad LO is still happy and wriggling away, but you must have been so scared/worried. Keeping fingers crossed that all is ok.

kveta so annoyed on your behalf! I would KILL my sister if she did that (well, at least give her a stern talking to!) I wouldn't dream of rreturning something is borrowed in that state, grrr!

warlin glad the move went well, you must be excited to get the nursery sorted!.

chateau I got a maternity tankini from figleaves in the sale, they have a few different ones so it might be worth checking out? I had a look on the high street but my newly generously-sized boobs didn't seem to look right in any of them!

gwennie welcome & congrats!

Have got my final wedding dress fitting today! Hope I haven't expanded too much more!

smallwonder · 11/04/2012 16:25

Great to read all the water birth plans :) I really, really did dream of one with my first child but a failed induction at 42 weeks happened instead. Watched one on OBEM not so long ago and it really does look amazing. Am so looking fwd to all the birth announcement -- is very exciting :)
Will catch up properly later section is planned during the first 7 days of the month. Will announce exact date next month :)
If anyone can do a hash sign for me would be much appreciated (no.4 child) as i cannot find it on this Mac!!

Boysrstupid · 11/04/2012 17:13

Huge Thanks Blondie have a Brew

Cot, drawer & cot top changer all sucessfully built. I am a self assembly genius and quite proud of my efforts as mahoosive bump is a bit of an obstruction (as is ever so 'helpfull' 10YO son).

Shattered now so should sleep tonight (including between 3:30am & 6am if you don't mind Mr Sandman).

Off to eat everything in sight now.

Still thinking of you Tea

TeaandHobnobs · 11/04/2012 17:21

Update! Just had a scan and the good news (I think? Confused) is there is no obvious reason for the bleeding - placenta is well out of the way (as per 20wk scan) and everything looks fine.
So they are keeping me in until tomorrow when hopefully it will have been 24hrs of no more bleeding, then I can go home again. Part of me wonders if this will keep happening though Hmm

LO is breech at the moment, which could explain why they have been having so much trouble tracking his hb today! Will have to get on my hands and knees and try and persuade him to flip... Plenty of time though, I hope!

Thank you all for your well-wishes / thoughts - definitely helped keep my chin up today Smile

Boyz good to see you! I was wondering this morning how you were, as you'd been quiet for a while.

McKayz · 11/04/2012 18:05

I have a tankini so I was planning on seeing how I felt at the time. I guess as DH won't be here and my mum or friend will be with me I might cover up a bit.

Tea glad there is no obvious sign for the bleeding. Hope you're ok.

lostlenore · 11/04/2012 18:33

Hi everyone,

I'm due on June 16th with DC2, can I join in the fun?

I hope you're ok Tea, I had a bleed at 17 weeks with no obvious cause - a friend who is a mw suggested it could have been a cervical ectropion, which is just a weak and leaky blood vessel with no sinister undertones, so maybe that is what is happening with you?

smallwonder · 11/04/2012 18:35

Ah grand news Tea, I'd just popped back on to see how you were doing.

Also forgot to say welcome to all newbies!! Hello and Congrats :)

Kveta · 11/04/2012 19:33

brilliant news Tea, hope you have a restful night and baby behaves himself! my DS was breech until 36 weeks, so hopefully you have nothing to worry about there yet :)

DairyNips · 11/04/2012 20:24

Welcome and congrats lostlenoreGrin

DairyNips · 11/04/2012 20:25

By the way lostlenore, have you found out what you're having?Smile

SpecialJK · 11/04/2012 21:17

hello to all the newbies!

Really glad tea that everything seems to be settling down. I really hope it continues like that. We're not quite ready for the LO's to make appearances yet.

I hope everyone gets a good nights sleep. I'm spreading some sleep fairy dust around, and in particular to you boyz. I'm hoping some lands on me between 4.30am and 6 which seems to be my waking hours at the moment.

blondiedollface · 11/04/2012 22:06

Tea Glad all seems to be settling and normalising (if that's even a word) for you!

To all our fellow sleep-deprived mums-to-be sleep fairy dust being spread by me too SpecialJK that is exactly when I seem to be waking, although I must admit I've grown accustomed to seeing the sunrise now!

Have been having a look at some other threads tonight for the first time properly and I would like to thank you all ladies for being so lovely!!! It really does seem as though there are some MNers who are out to give a bloody good rollicking to others who don't quite see things as they do!

So cheers for being such a lovely, understanding and seemingly non-judgmental bunch, let alone the unending sympathy and support you all show! Make's me glad I'm due in June :D

Fanbelt · 11/04/2012 22:25

Hello, welcome and congratulations to the newbies. Smile

Tea hope everything carries on okay and they let you out tomorrow. Must be very worrying for you but I guess as long as you're feeling lots of wiggling from the LO that's definitley a good sign.

Warlin Re letting yourself go in the shaving department I've even been getting comments from my 6yo DS2 - but am planning on booking myself in for a waxing session next week - hoping it'll last for at least the next 7 wks by which time, hopefully, Baby will have arrived and I'll actually be able to reach my legs!

Kveta can't believe your sister! Maggots is so revolting!! Definitely think you should just get a new cot - can you get one second-hand from anywhere and just get a new mattress?

Boyz well done on putting together your cot. I've got to get ours in from the garage (DH has finished painting the spare room/nursery), clean it and put it together at some point in the next week or so. I've been debating whether or not to buy a new mattress for it. The mattress we've got we used for both my DSs and before that DH's neice (my SIL gave us the cotbed and mattress when we had DS1) so it's nearly 12 years old and has been through 3 children - actually, putting it like that I think we will get a new one, I think I've just talked myself into it... Grin

Blondie I absolutely agree - this is a lovely group of mums and mums-to-be - lucky old June babies Smile

ffnorm · 11/04/2012 22:31

Wrote a long post earlier but it disappeared Confused

Welcome Gwennie and Lost, each time anyone posts the stats I wonder what happened to some of the posters... and then there you are Boys one of the people I was wondering about Grin

I have also peeked in on some of the "due" threads,so exciting to see the delivery news etc. Will be interesting to see who goes 1st/last,will we get the deliveries we want... obviously too much wondering today

Great news Tea that it's nothing ominous but does leave you feeling as if you don't know if it will happen again.

Would love to water birth but from what I've heard of my hospital is that they don't use there pools often,so it's in my head but haven't got my heart set on it after last time when nothing went as I planned,I'm a little guarded in letting myself plan but if I was to water birth would prob wear some cheap stretchy vest type top. I ended up in hospital gown last time, due to an excorcist like vomiting incident Grin
