Hello everybody......

New person here (I am migrating from an inferior website.. which I shall not name but with which I am a little jaded.....) I am due on the 29th June with first baby, gender as yet undisclosed! So can I sneak in at the end of your club, please?

How is your pregnancy going?

I think my pregnancy is going well..... baby seems to be doing what it ought to and is measuring exactly right for its dates. Which gave me the most bizarre sensation of being proud of it for being so well organised at my last midwife's appointment! Uh-oh, proud mummy syndrome starting so early...

I have never really experienced the glowing 2nd trimester I was promised though! I feel cheated out of that bit... grrr.... Now I am fully underway in the joys of 3rd trimester heartburn/ sleepless nights/ can't do up shoelaces etc etc. However, we have just started NCT classes and met some lovely people and it is beginning to feel scarily and wonderfully real now! Decorating the nursery this week too. Much excitement all round.

So exciting being of for the first time, I remember it so well, a little bit scary too I think my 1st pregnancy was the best of the lot.

I seem to be the last to bed and first up in the wonder house.
I hate bedtime with a vengeance, I just do not sleep :(
7 weeks and some days to go ....... anyone would think it was next week!!!!

Oh dear Tea, hope they can find out why it is happening, how many weeks are you now?
Good that it doesn't seem to be affecting the baby but horrible to have that happening.

We were going through bits and bobs from my grans house and I found some photo's my Dad took when we brought DD home from hospital (so she is only 2 days old), it was a lovely reminder how diddy and sleepy they are when they are new.

Hi Gwennie! Glad everything is going well for you. I'm not enjoying the sleepless 3rd trimester either, over the weekend it was my ribs being stretched, they were so painful I kept waking up.

Thanks guys it is nice to have someone to talk to.

I'm 29+5 today. Baby is doing really well and showing no sign of wanting to come out (although they gave us steroids last week just in case). Cervix is still closed and long. Wasn't allowed to go for my scan at 8, but they said now I've been admitted, I should still get one today. They still don't know what is causing it though. Have had another canulla put in They've also asked me not to eat or drink anything for now, just in case - but I was starving when I woke up at 3am!

I'm still on the labour ward for now (I know I shouldn't laugh, but I am hearing the odd comedy scream from down the corridor), but hopefully I can get moved to the antenatal ward later today - and see some familiar faces!

DH has gone to find himself breakfast and head into work. Boredom awaits!

hope you're ok tea, how worrying. hope they find a nice innocuous cause for it. and for you!

re: maggots/sister, there's not much I can do - sister is a total bitch hard work, and if I say ANYTHING that could be taken as criticism, my mum will be the one who suffers. and annoying though my parents can be, it's not fair for them to have to suffer my sister being a pain. Other sister and I are plotting housework based christmas presents for maggoty sis though - a tub of vanish maybe?! :o DH is just repulsed. And we're thinking maybe sis should keep the travel cot, because god only knows what horrors will lie within it!

Tea - you are lucky if you are only hearing the odd comedy scream , for my last labour someone treated me to the kind of screaming and swearing that still turn my blood cold!
Err and I wasn't even on a ward, It sounded like she was stood outside my room in the corridor!

Kveta - probably best to get a shiny new travel cot and not risk seeing what the one your sister has looks like!

Sorry it's happening again tea. Good that's it sounds like baby is happy in there though. Hope they can find out what is causing it to put your mind at rest. I remember the screams well, not what you want to hear when you're in the process of being induced..

Tea, glad things seem to have settled down and hope you get your scan.
I rolled over in the night to be greeted by pain and several clicking sounds in my hips (I have SPD) and now I have the sorest bump, feels like its really bruised at the bottom but I havent done anything!

On the plus side I have managed to wangle an extra scan at 37 weeks - hospital were asking for volunteers for Dr's in training!

pinkpanther sorry about your sore bump today, poor you Super jealous of your extra scan! Was just thinking I would like another cause 8-10 weeks seems quite a while till we'll see baby.

Whilst messing with stats & making it much prettier - PLEASE somebody change me to 29/6 I'm in the right place just dateless (Story of my life) Also whilst your being generous and helpful to a simpleton with a dodgy phone and no laptop, can I proudly announce that I'm cooking a GIRL. The boys and I are already completely smitten.

Tea what are you playing at? We are all supposed to have happy, healthy, fearless pregnancies. I am sending you my very best wishes and crossing everything (that I can still manage to cross) that this is just your body needing a little NHS mini break. It's comforting to hear babè seems rather unaffected so far.

My access as I said is restricted to a poor performing phone so I haven't managed to read all updates hope this finds the rest of you well.

The weather here is rubbish and DS1(10yo) is mithering me to help build the cot. Yes it's too early I know but we are bored and actually the undercot drawer will provide extra space to accomodate my pink shopping addiction.

Hi All

Sorry haven't posted in a while, just been up to my eyes with house move. All sorted now thankfully but think I overdid it a bit and am now suffering with (yet another) bad cold and sore chest :( And back to work with 6 weeks and counting.

On the plus side we can start decorating the nursery....finally . Bought moses basket yesterday and am looking at cots. Just can't decide how much is worth spending. It's easy to get carried away, yet I want something nice for my first little boy!

Welcome gwennie and congrats. Mumsnet is a great forum so hopefully you will enjoy.

tea hope you're ok... Do they have any idea what it is. At least LO is still happy and will hopefully stay in for a while longer...though TBH I'd be happy if mine was at least a few weeks early :)

Well ladies, Easter is gone...another milestone hit...the countdown is well and truly on!!!

Reckon the next couple of months will be long though with the heartburn, lack of sleep and generally feeling like a whale..not to mention the trials of trying to maintain a respectable shaving routine....seriously considering letting myself go but need to maintain some dignity in these last weeks if possible
