Florin · 28/03/2012 13:45

Hello sorry I have been missing in action for a while. Life been so busy. How is everybody. I seem to be hitting the 3rd trimester like a brick wall suddenly feeling huge and achey. Roll on June! Joined Nct yoga and have my 2nd session tonight so hoping that may help. Plus only 39 working day left until maternity leave starts! Can't wait!
Our bugaboo donkey arrived at the weekend, it is so lovely can't wait to use it!
Good idea about the Facebook group hope it's ok I have requested to join my initials are cs

SpecialJK · 28/03/2012 14:23

hi - I've requested to join FB too - my initials are JK

and yes, I was a girly swot last night at NCT. DH told me off for talking too much about pre-eclampsia etc.

SpecialJK · 28/03/2012 14:36

p.s. how exciting the wedding is here so soon! Mines wasn't that long ago. I was sober and I still wish I could remember it all! Smile

Scan again tomorrow. and another meeting with the horrible consultant. I'm going to change after this one, been given the name of a really nice obstetrician and her PA details so I can make the 32 week appointment with her.

Fanbelt · 28/03/2012 14:38

Hi ladies,

love the idea of fb group - I've requested to join... I'm FM

Otherwise, madly busy working from home (sitting in garden in sunshine) trying to get everything done before I finish TOMORROW!!!! So no time to post properly now. Will check back in later. Smile

CathFin · 28/03/2012 14:54

Have requested to join too - won't be too difficult to guess who I am from my 'pseudonym'!
Just thinking it will be very odd if I actually know anyone in the group in real life!!

Florin · 28/03/2012 15:26

Thank you for adding me to facebook!

ffnorm · 28/03/2012 16:28

Kveta - exactly,I have chosen the day I talk about my bits,to show you my face Shock I have requested to be added,my initials are BL.

Handed my Mat B1 in yesterday,so now it's more real on the work front (had it in my bag for 2 weeks, baby brain is dire...) Still trying to decide when I go off, should really decide soon!! Have annual leave to play with...

ceeej · 28/03/2012 17:40

Hey ladies, I've been awol due to too many holidays! Can't complain at all, had a lovely time not skiing in Meribel, I joined in with all the eating, read lots of books and tried out snowshoeing. Then went up to my parents house in the Lake District with my best mates from uni and dragged them up a few mountains whilst DH stayed on for more skiing. Now in New York as DH had to go on a last minute business trip, very excited as I get to see some friends who I haven't seen since before getting pregnant and thought I wouldn't see for ages.

Just caught up with the most recent bits of the thread, Kazyr how exciting that your wedding is so soon. I hope you have the most beautiful day, sure it will be awesome. Kveta loving your procrastination, I will request to join, initials are CS. Dairy hope your sinuses clear up soon, I hate having sinus infections it's so hard to concentrate on anything through the pain. Best of luck for the move Warlin I find packing and unpacking for hols bad enough, doing the whole house must be so tiring but just think of the newly decorated nursery :). Hope everyone else is doing well, not too long now before we get to meet our little ones!

ChateauMargot · 28/03/2012 20:11

I love that we're all going 'hmm, vaginal secretions, sore nipples, constipation, let's be friends in real life!'

LOL!

I've asked to join the group now, too - initials TK :)

28-week appointment went well this morning - had a student midwife along for the ride, which meant I got a little extra attention, which was nice!

Warlin, sympathies - we're also moving house next week, and although both DH and I are looking forward to the new place the thought of spending the next few days in a dusty, messy mire of half-packed odds and ends is already getting me down. At least it means that we can spend Easter nesting, though - right??

blondiedollface · 28/03/2012 21:29

Joined the FB group :) After a strange few days things finally feel a bit more on track today!

Had to take my last week before Mat leave off sick as things were just getting too stressful and tbh they were treating me like . Moving has seemed to have worn us both out, but we now only have 2 rooms unfinished with a few boxes in each left to unpack! My grandmothers funeral went well and was lovely for it to be such a warm lovely day...

Got physio tomorrow morning for the SPD and I'm really looking forward to it - hoping they can work out some way to ease the discomfort and give me some exercises to prevent it getting worse. Looking forward to being able to swim a couple of times a week to keep active minus all the weight on my joints, as working and moving house have made it near impossible for my energy levels to be anywhere near where they should be to swim!!

Kayzr All the best for your wedding!

Dairy My sympathies, sinus problems can be so painful, but olbas steam and massaging all sound like the perfect remedies to me :)

Warlin Good luck with the move, before you know it you'll be in and settled, the last 10 days since we've moved are a complete blur but you get there :D

Has anyone else been having quite strong BH? My tummy seems to be going completely rock solid for about 2 minutes 2 or 3 times a day... Very weird sensation!!

Hope everyone's enjoying the sunshine and thoughts of ML and LO's are filling your days :)

TeaandHobnobs · 28/03/2012 21:41

Blondie good that you have physio tomorrow, hope it goes well.

Can I ask how you got referred? Am pretty sure that I am on the SPD train now, but don't know whether to wait for Friday's MW appointment to discuss with her, csll her before then or if I should see the GP as they'd be the one to refer me? Have been in absolute agony today Sad

blondiedollface · 28/03/2012 22:27

Tea My MW referred me and it was less than a week until I got a call with an appointment couldn't make the initial time she suggested as my work wouldn't give me time off, but at 8am tomorrow I'll be there with freaking bells on!! I'd wait and ask your MW, unless she's been particularly useless in which case I'd get your Dr to refer you :)

bemybebe · 29/03/2012 00:43

I am not on FB Sad, so will be missing you guys (really do not want to reopen the account though)
What a beautiful few days here in Surrey! Today in particular was so warm it felt like summer is just around the corner. Very weird to see trees without any leaves though, looks like they are out of sync with the rest of us. The dog went for a swim in the lake we walked around for 2 hour asking to keep throwing her toy in the water, she is such a water baby (my 1.9 yo choc lab)...
My consultant for the 2nd time mentioned elcs. The reasons - the baby is breach (but likely to move as i am only 28wks), i am gbs, so the risk of passing it to the baby is 10%, i have incompetent cervix which is likely to suffer further hance further difficulties to carry the pg to term... i am a bit disheartened, because i know what it does for my decison-making... i will agree to elcs because if ever anythign goes even a bit wrong i won't forgive myself as i never forgave myself stupid things that meant that i gave birth before at 24 weeks abroad with the tragic outcome.
Shit.

SpecialJK · 29/03/2012 09:55

bemybebe sorry to hear that. I know we all want the best for our LO's. I know we've had a chat about this before, but I've been given the name of a consultant at RSCH who has been brought in to reduce the elcs rates there. I've heard she's v nice, so PM me if you want name if you want a 2nd opinion. I have our favourite person to see today! Smile I want a damn good reason from her if she tries to push me down the elcs route, DH is coming with me too so I have backup this time Smile

Kveta · 29/03/2012 10:53

hi bemy sorry to hear that - hope you feel ok.

I am having such strong cravings for raspberries today. just went to the shops and got a punnet of them, and 2 pots of raspberry yoghurt too, and have eaten half the punnet and one pot of yog already. DH thinks it's hilarious for some reason.

I've been really crampy too - I assume they're just braxton hicks, but some are actually taking my breath away. ah, the many delights of pregnancy...

DS was utterly absurd yesterday - I picked him up from nursery, and we were walking across campus to the car, and spotted a hedgehog. So DS bellowed 'LOOK MUMMY! BEAR CUNT!' whilst I went Shock and then realised he meant bear hunt Confused he was going 'two big googly eyes' and I was trying to explain that hedgehogs are a little bit smaller, less ferocious, and more likely to be found in Cambridgeshire than bears. His command of the english language is getting funnier and more dangerous by the day :o

off up to Scotland this evening, because who doesn't need a flight with a toddler at 30 weeks pg? Hmm I've taken today off work, as doubt I could cope with day at work plus the flight. anyway, I'll be mainly offline for a week or so (waaah!) as my parents haven't quite got on board with wi-fi yet. and accessing MN from my phone is a faff.

emblosion · 29/03/2012 11:31

Hi ladies, I've requested to join fb page too, initials are ELT.

kayzr very exciting about wedding next thurs! Are you all prepared? Mine's on 21st April and I feel like there's still so much to do.

Those of you with PGP/SPD how did it start? My lower back has been agony for the past few days, its worse when I walk and when getting up from sitting, turning over in bed etc. Oh deary me.

On the plus side have felt baby move a lot more in the past few days, about time, ha ha. Must finally be big enough for me to feel through the placenta!

Hope everyone is ok, nursery nearly decorated now so hopefully will have more time to keep up with the thread! X

emblosion · 29/03/2012 11:38

kveta 'bear cunt' has given me a real good laugh, your DS sounds very cute!

bemy sorry to hear that, hope you are ok. I'm sure you'll make the decision that's right for you, it must be really stressful though.

TeaandHobnobs · 29/03/2012 12:31

emblosion for me, it started as a sort of ache/stabby pain in my pubic bone, which has got progressively worse over the last 2 weeks. It is most painful for me on getting up after sitting / lying down for a period of time (although after walking for a while it eases a bit, though I am walking in a flipping odd way Hmm) and turning over in bed last night was absolute AGONY! Hope yours doesn't get any worse, and you can see someone about it.

bemybaby sorry that I can't say anything helpful, being a first timer, but I hope you manage to come to a decision that you can deal with. I know your previous experience is weighing on your mind Sad we are all here to support you Smile

emblosion · 29/03/2012 12:52

tea yep achy/ stabby sounds familiar.... I keep hoping I've just over done it and it'll just get better on its own, but I guess I'd better see the gp or something.... Curses!

HorseyGirl1 · 29/03/2012 13:21

Bemybaby - much the same story here. We had a double loss at 20 weeks in Dec 2010. Heartbreaking - makes this journey so scary. Got stitch this time at 13 weeks and all going OK with a singleton pregnancy this time but still nervous. Also GBS carrier - but they don't seem to want to test for it this time. Relate to your thoughts on getting discouraged and feeling that you made mistakes as a result last time. But the one thing that gets me through is at 28 or 30 weeks we stand a good chance this time even if we do go early. They have mentioned ELCS to me also and really I don't mind what way Baby gets here as long as he gets here safely and we are both OK. You're not alone. xx

ellybett · 29/03/2012 13:48

Hi all. Have been internet free for a while so this morning has been about catching up and watching dd try to hula hoop! Sorry the blooming hasn't really kicked in for lots of us!

Massive sympathies to those on spd bus. I thought it was uncomfortable last time but this time its ridiculous, my bum cheeks are agony!! I have physio next week so I'm hoping for some relief. I unfortunately am already wadding much to the amusement of my mostly male colleagues who are far from sympathetic (bobbies). For big strapping blokes they're terrified I'll give birth at work!

kveta I've asked to join the group, initials are LH. Hope the travelling was ok. Am loving your ds' little gems. Its definitely not boring talking with a toddler!

warlin hope house move goes ok and u get your feet up every chance you get.

bemy I hope you get the birth you want, take care of yourself.

kayzr massive good luck for next week, its going to be fabulous!

Who's packed their bag yet? I haven't but am buying bits and bobs each week. Love the suggestion of a jug, after having stitches with dd I am definitely packing one of them!

Miniangel · 29/03/2012 15:12

Hi Ladies sorry haven't been posting for a bit, have been kinda busy lately.

Kveta I've asked to join the fb group, initials are MR. Hope you are having a good time in Scotland. 'Bear cunt' what a laugh. Your DS is sooo cute.

Kayzr Wow the wedding is next week. All the very best and hope it is the wedding of your dreams.

Warlin all the best for your house move. Hope you settle in quickly and start buying baby stuff. It is exciting.

bemy All the very best, hope all goes well for you.

ChateauMargot best of luck for your house move as well. Hope you settle in quickly.

I have been getting braxton hicks as well. My belly goes rock solid for minutes and is very uncomfortable. Pple have started telling me that my bump is too big. It is annoying at times. I will be 29 weeks tomorrow.

AmethystMoon · 29/03/2012 15:16

Hello everyone

Just spent half an hour catching up with our posts!

Kayzr I am sorry to hear about your DP's grandmother :( but pleased that your DP is home now. Goodluck for your wedding, you must be so excited! I hope your ankle is better too.

Kveta I've just requested FB, my initials are CM. Sorry to hear how tired you are it must be really rough for you.

Dairy I hope your sinuses are improving, I had that at the start, I used Olbas oil, steam and massaged the points just under the inner eyebrows, at the top of the nose. It hurt like hell but oddly gave some relief Confused

Annakin - welcome and I know what you mean about the leg cramps...a delight aren't they? Hmm

Fanbelt fingers crossed for your DH's interview tomorrow :)

Warlin, Blondie and everyone else...yes to the swollen bits and discharge too! A joy eh?

Chateau & Warlin good luck with your house moves

Bemy sorry to hear about your circumstances, I am sure you'll make the right decision.

I'm enjoying the last of the sunshine today, just been out for a walk with my dog :) I hear it's back to normal March weather from tomorrow. I'm working from home today, had to go to docs this morning after an interesting incident on Tuesday evening....my legs went blue...very blue...like a smurf Grin. I phoned my midwife who said get thee to the GP! He thinks it is the same problem that is causing me to black out if I sit down, i.e. another pesky side effect of my veins and arteries getting crushed in my pelvis.

Hey ho, I hope at least some of us are feeling well :)

Kayzr · 29/03/2012 17:58

Evening,

Kveta Have a good flight and a nice time away.

Bemy I am positive that you will pick the birth that makes you feel the most comfortable. As long as you and baby are both ok.

Amethyst I couldn't help but have a little laugh about your smurf legs. Sorry Grin

DP's Gran is a picture of health again. Well almost. From FIL being told this time last week to keep his phone on at all times and to get in touch with all the family to try and get to Bristol ASAP to say goodbye. Well now she is sitting up, chatting, eating and hoping to be at the wedding. Despite the fact she actually hasn't been in a car for over 5 years and the drive is a fairly long one.

It is a bit of a joke in DPs family about the amount of times she has been about to die. Drs told my MIL that DPs gran would never get to meet DP. Well he is almost 27 now!

I had my 28 week appointment this morning and I am measuring 30cm Shock I hope it all evens out by the 31 week appointment.

Hope you are all well!

thedogwalker · 29/03/2012 19:35

Hello
I've asked to join the FB group, my initials are PW and the piccie is of DS1 in his welsh rugby shirt.
Bemy, sorry to hear your news, of course you want to do the best for your LO, hope all turns out well.
Kveta your DS's comments had me chuckling Grin
I've been so busy at work, can't wait for 13th April, my last day at work Grin, it can't come quick enough.
Hope everyone is well, take care xx
