Kayzr Had my 28 week appt today and am measuring 29cm, all of a sudden as well I've sprung about 4 stretch marks! Very unhappy with that, but don't feel much bigger, and was measuring 27cm at 25 weeks...

All just adds to me being convinced my due date is 7-10 days after it should be- but maybe the professionals do know better?

CathFin · 29/03/2012 21:52

bemy - fingers crossed your LO stays put for ages yet, hopefully having time to consider your choices will make it easier to come to a decision.

Horsey - hope everything continues ok for you too.

I'm 28cm at 28 weeks - my bump is now public property - everyone has something to say about it! Its going to be a loooonnnnggg 12 weeks......

surfmama · 29/03/2012 22:10

can i just have a moan? i know it is so beautiful at the moment and I am very lucky to be pregnant and am happy, but ffs, my dp has really pissed me off tonight. I was supposed to go to tai chi, last class of the season, but felt so tired that just cooked myself some nice food and curled up on sofa for evening of tele, mw called today to say iron levels low so am feeling tired and grumpy but happy all the same. DP came in and started repairing surfboard with epoxy resin in the spare room. it has stunk the house out. he can't smell the bloody stuff, but I have called him every name under the sun as now i can't sit in the room and am in bedroom with windows open and doors shut. selfish wanker. why he couldn't do that outside in the fresh air tomorrow or at the weekend, i just want to cry as am so furious. then he had audacity to tell me i was imagining it and told me i was a stupid fing cow or something, god I am so so angry. to top it all i banged my leg on the side of the bath and it is all swollen, and am moving house this weekend.....aaarrrgghhh fuck it. thank you.

PinkPanther27 · 29/03/2012 23:19

Hi Kveta, I've been lurking on this thread for a little while (not in a stalker way :) and I'm due on 6th June 2012. I've asked if I can be added to your Facebook group, hope this is ok

surfmama · 29/03/2012 23:35

oh my i have lurked and then launched into a rage - sorry. ice on leg and a good self pity cry feeling a bit better.

CathFin · 30/03/2012 08:18

Hi surfmama - hope you feel better today! That would have really annoyed me too btw!

Had my preggo yoga class last night - really enjoying it. Got home and couldn't get to sleep but prob just as well as then DS woke up about 11pm so I sorted him out and then DD trotted in at some point too but I think that's because we moved her into a proper big girl bed yesterday, the frame is mothercare but it seems SO high up after her diddy little cot bed.

DS makes the big swap tonight from cot to cotbed and we are leaving the rails off so he will be freerange as of tonight. Oh well, had to happen sometime!

AmethystMoon · 30/03/2012 08:36

Morning all
Kayzr That is fantastic news about your DP's grandmother :) she sounds like a tough one!
Surfmama oh you poor thing, I can't stand the smell of epoxy resin, makes me heave and go all wheezy. He should have done it outside...men! I hope your leg is much better today x
Cathfin and Blondie my MW hasn't measured me yet! when is this supposed to start? I have no idea whether I'm too big...too small? Should we be measuring the same no. of cm as our weeks? Can I measure myself...or is it clever midwifey magic?

CathFin · 30/03/2012 10:38

Amethyst - they do it from the 28 week check onwards here. They measure you lying down and its from the top of the pubic bone (if you can find it!) to the top of the bump I think??

I'm just popping in incase anyone travels to work on South West Trains - apparently pregnant mums can upgrade travel cards to allow them to sit in first class if the train is full once they are 20 weeks pregnant?

^Mums To Be First Class Upgrade
Making journeys to work a little easier for expectant mothers. Expectant mothers who hold a weekly, monthly or longer season ticket can apply for a First Class Upgrade which allows you to sit in First Class when there are no Standard Class seats available.^

To apply, you will need your MATB1 form which is given to you by your doctor or midwife no more than 20 weeks before your due date. To be eligible for the Mums-to-be upgrade pass, please complete our Mums-to-be application form and enclose a copy of your MATB1 and current season ticket.

Warlin · 30/03/2012 11:20

Morning all

surf good to get the rant off your chest but try not to get stressed as it's not good for LO....men can be selfish and just don't think. Angry better to try and stay calm though....you have so much to be happy about.

I'm trying not to get too stressed with house move. DH off work today sorting it so I plan on watching as much as possible. My job tomorrow will be to entertain the dog and keep her out of the way and then clean the house we are leaving Grin. Chateau blondie and surf good luck with your moves too...

bemy sorry to hear about your need for a CS....I know you just want whats best for baby and as long as it gets here ok, the how will soon be forgotten.

kvetayour DS makes me laugh!

Kazyr not long now...this time next week you'll be a married woman!

So, had our 4D scan on Wed night....was amazing, though very strange. Thankfully the baby has moved up a little so they can at least see his face. You could see the nose and lips really clearly and he kept opening and closing his eyes..! So cute! And the big joint I can feel poking out beside my belly button is a knee Grin. makes it all very real that there is a proper little person in there now!

TeaandHobnobs · 30/03/2012 11:29

Good point CathFin! My mum and I were just talking about this this morning. I noticed this week that First Capital Connect do a 'Priority Card' for the priority seats - not as good as a first class upgrade! But useful for getting a seat.

However I just wear my TfL 'Baby on Board' badge wherever I go - people are very kind at giving up their seats Blush. Anyone who wants one, just email [email protected] and request one, giving them the address to post it to. They sent me two, but unfortunately I lost one the first day I wore it Sad I take extra special care of the second one now!

Off to 28 week appointment later - more bloods, urgh - followed by first antenatal class! I assume it's not weird to take notes? Hmm (don't want to look like a swot Grin)

DH is currently hurtling down the slopes in the alps Envy... well, I say hurtling - he's probably on the nursery slopes with the 4-year olds again Grin

What's everyone else up to today? Is it last day of school?

blondiedollface · 30/03/2012 15:36

Warlin I'm probably completely ignorant to this but how do you go about getting a 4D scan? Do you have to go private, I'm completely oblivious, but quite interested to find out how to go about getting another scan!

Cathfin and Tea Those priority seats and upgrades for trains sound a lot better than any treatment you get on buses! I get tutted at for sitting down by old people even though my bump is massive (well it feels huge anyway)!

Surf Men, men, men! They are the best and worst and IMO need to be more observant and thoughtful - but we can't help but love them!!

CathFin · 30/03/2012 15:52

Yes, last day of school - naturally last day of sunshine too!

StarlightDicKenzie · 30/03/2012 15:57

Hi all. Here you are then Grin

Kayzr · 30/03/2012 16:00

Yes the boys have got 2 weeks and the weather is going pants. Forecasting snow for goodness sake. 6 days til the wedding and everyone keeps talking about snow!! Sad

bemybebe · 30/03/2012 16:13

Thank you so much to everyone for the kind words of encouragement. I tried to stay positive all day yesterday and it seems I am more accepting of whatever happens as long as the baby is safe!

horsey I am tested regularly for gbs and guess what, not a single time was i actually identified as positive this time round. I also read that NHS is using different (and cheaper) form of solution to grow the culture and it can account for false negatives, but I was tested 5-6 times now and it seems like I am genuinely not carrying it 'up there' at the moment (alhtough just remembered that i also was tested once after the course of AB for a sinusitis, which would have cleared gbs at the same time. not sure why they went ahead regardless, but hey ho). still I will be given AB during the delivery whichever way it turns and so, probably, will you. fingers crossed, we will all deliver our healthy gorgeous babies on time, calmly and with as little interventions/pain/damage as possible!!

special the thing is that it is my private consultant who is talking elcs. he seemed to be so measured all throughout the pg so far, i really came to like him. the nasty consultant you are talking about was mine from the time when i lost the lo. this time i am on the books in rsch (and hence hers) at the advice of the private guy because they are in london (40 mins driving in clear traffic) and should something go wrong and i were blue lighted in to my nearest facility, they would have known my history, etc. incidentally Wink i also was at her clinic yesterday, but most of it was with one of her team (call me "Dr Ross"), who seemed to be in his 20s. I just seen you were there also!! I wonder if we have seen each other yesterday without realizing we are buddies here.

cathfin and tea I am also with SWT, although I am not commuting by train since a long time ago. it was my first time on the train yesterday (catching it at 9.30 to go to Canary Wharf). What a "joy"! Actually people were very friendly (the ticket office lady smiled and asked when the baby is due... I was never asked when the baby is due by strangers outside the hospital environment, it is so sweet!) But the train was packed and a nasty guy in his 40-50s even pushed himself between me and the doors as the train was pulling in to have a better choice of the seats! Shock i did get one, but it is definitely worth upping season ticket to the 1st class if you can, because i can see how you would not want to ask people every time for your seat!!

bemybebe · 30/03/2012 16:16

Oh Kayzr this is really pants! Sad I very much hope for yours and ours sake that meteo office has screwed up big time again (forecasting last year "hottest summer" and "snowiest winter" on record). We have a dog and as much as I do love walking her, I absolutely detest doing in shitty weather also because there is normally nobody around to play with!

bemybebe · 30/03/2012 16:25

surf what a "bad person" your dp indeed, what was he thinking about?? I hope you get your leg sorted one way or another... I was moving house on my own once. dh (then bf) managed to fall down the stair and fracture his hip (and was in agony for several days because the hospital for some reason reason being because they are idiots could not get him adequate pain relief), so I had to pack last minute absolutely everything on my own and move the boxes from the 2nd floor flat also alone. funny enough, as i was carrying the last box about 2am i misjudged the step and fell on the top of the said box and sprang the ankle, then drove myself in pain to the new place, so by the time i managed to rest it the ankle was as wide as my thigh and I was in agony. So sympathies and hope you can get all sorting in time!!

smallwonder · 30/03/2012 16:47

Hi ladies,
Are you serious about snow?! Surely not, well DH has just nodded and said 'Yup, It's probable early days yet...' No! No! No snow or cold weather, please!

I want to join the FB group but don't want everyone on my FB page seeing that i've joined (if that makes sense) as there are people that I don't really want knowing that I'm PG at all, until the birth announcement is made -- will they be able to see that? Sorry for silly question but I've had major 'troll' problems online before and I'm a tad paranoid!

Please congratulate me....I received first bundle of sleepsuits and vests today. Wanted to wait until 30weeks'ish' and I did and here they are!! Now it's full steam ahead :) Even DH was awwwwwing as were the children at the size of the tiny suits...

Sainsburys were doing 1/3 OFF lots of baby stuff yesterday, Lansinoh cream, Infacare bath stuff, breast pads, Infacol etc... I stocked up on a few bits for the hossie bag.

I have m/w appt next week, I'll be 30 weeks I think. Can't remember if there are more bloods to be taken! Anyone?

I've fallen too behind to catch up but hoping everyone is doing well. Congratulations for upcoming wedding, really exciting and has anyone had a date for a c-sec yet.....Easter Weekend and I'll have less than 8 weeks to go I think :)

Hoping to find someone online at 2, 3, 4 and 5 am these days :)
Just don't sleep anymore.
SW aka Ecstatica x

Kayzr · 30/03/2012 16:52

Small I am pretty sure it doesn't show up. I'll log into DPs account and see if he can see I'm in the group or not.

Kayzr · 30/03/2012 16:57

Small DP can't see that I am in the group at all. But when i searched for the group by name it showed the members. So they would have to know what it is called before they could find out you were a member. If that makes sense.

10000fireflies · 30/03/2012 18:03

Hello everyone! Am not doing a good job keeping up with you all these days. Blush Waves to all. Have had a busy few weeks, all good though. Will be back soon. Xx

AmethystMoon · 30/03/2012 18:08

SNOW!!!!!??????? Shock

Smallwonder & Kveta Just to say the FB does show up - I've had messages galore from people I hadn't told' cos I wanted to wait until LO was safely here! apparentley it says something like 'Name has joined jubilent jubilee babies' (or whatever we're called0 - so be warned!

Cathfin - thanks for the measuring info..think I'll wait for my appointment, I'm bound to mess it up if I try myself!

Warlin your 4D scan sounds fab :)

smallwonder · 30/03/2012 18:16

Ahhh lovely, sorry I missed Warlin's 4D Scan news -- will login again more regularly now that I'm settled.

AmethystMoon - Thanks for the insider info :) I had a hunch that might be the case so although I wish I could join I won't for the sake of my privacy and avoidance of distant relatives old friends prying-- asking questions.
I'd be happy for anyone to add me to their own FB Page though!

Hello fireflies, hope you're well. Look fwd to seeing you soon.

rrrayray · 30/03/2012 18:58

I phone deleted app so appologies for lack of posting

Was sent to hosp last week as baby really quiet for monitoring. All Is well, but does anyone else have a quiet baby? My DD was a real wriggler, strong kicks, hiccups etc, this one far far far less so. Movements when I feel them are ever so gentle, it seems super chilled & laid back. I know ALOT of you have real wrigglers so wondered if anyone else could sympathise with my experience. It's a little disconcerting after a very active first child.

Midwife at hospital suggested that often boys are quieter / more chilled.

DH away until late tomorrow night so having a Girly weekend with DD.

Kveta · 30/03/2012 19:01

Sorry about fb page, I will set it to secret. Just wanted to let people join it first.
