Morning ladiesSmile

morning Sorry to hear your scan revealed a heart defect. Must be worrying for you but good it has been noticed and the consultant is confident all will be well. Good they have a plan of action and you know what will be happening. Sorry you're having to worry about this though, thinking of you x

justwantcheese · 22/03/2012 12:59

forgot a very important item off hospital bag- a jug for weeing after so it doesn't hurt!

Kayzr · 22/03/2012 13:16

Morning Sorry to hear about the heart defect, but its good that the consultants seem very positive about it. Must be extremely worrying for you.

I had my hair trial for the wedding this morning. I am awfully pleased with it. The hairdresser left it in so I could go and show my best friend and bridesmaid. Now I have to try and pull out all the grips holding it up. Only 2 weeks to go. This time in 2 weeks I will be saying my vows as wedding is at 1! Eeeeekkk!!!

27 weeks today, 13 to go. I feel like I need to start getting sorted now, MIL is ordering the pram for us on Sunday so that is a start I guess.

Hope you are all well.

CathFin · 22/03/2012 13:44

Exciting Kayzr! I had such a fab time organising our wedding and getting married!

Also 27 weeks this week, feeling rather tired and ribs hurt so have just gone and done some retail therapy, no doubt on things I don't really need. Just bought a newborn baby set of clothes from Mothercare and as it was buy one get on half price I bought it in 0-3months too. They also have a 3 for 2 offer on loads of stuff (nappies, maternity towels, mattress protectors) so have partially equipped my hospital bag!

morning - sorry to hear your news too, fingers crossed for you.

SamJ2012 · 22/03/2012 19:16

Hey, can I join this thread? I'm new here. Am 28 weeks with my first baby - due on 12 June. Great to know what others are experiencing at the mo as I feel like I have loads to learn!

Kveta · 22/03/2012 19:31

hi all

broken with exhaustion here - no sleep all week now, not sure how I'll manage work tomorrow.

GTT results came back normal, thank god. so now when people go 'ooh, big bump!' I can say it's just how I make them. SPD getting worse though, it's sore to walk now. yay.

this time next week I'm going to be on a plane with a toddler, off to stay with my parents and go to a conference, so DH will get a bit of a break.

I've had bad braxton hicks for the past few days, and an upset stomach, so am hoping that a few hours rest will reset me back to glowing. ha ha.

good luck with the wedding kayzr, don't know where you find the energy to organise it!

just twigged that the apprentice has started, it's a 12 week series, so some of us will have babies by the time of the final! eek!

morning, sorry to hear your news - do you read the sew liberated blog? her wee boy is 1 now, ut had hyperplastic left something syndrome and required operations at birth. he's gorgeous and healthy now :) the blog is marvelously idealistic too!

had a shitty day at work today, as have just finished 2 bits of a big project, and moved them to the live database - and a colleague said 'oh, they're not right, why did you do that', as apparently the person who handed me the data, saying it was finished and ready for me to work on, actually meant it wasn't really finished, but she didn't have time to finish it. so that's a month's work down the fecking drain. I am slowly losing the will to live with this work now. just want to sleep!

got a conf call with american collaborators shortly, then will be having a v. early night. possibly with an anti histamine.

YAWN :(

Evening all!

Morning - sorry to hear you've had a bit of a difficult time, but glad mini-Morning can be treated quickly and it sounds positive.

Kveta - glad your GTT results came back okay; sorry you're not getting much sleep.

Great start to today for me - house alarm on the funeral director's on the side road near us went off for 20 mins at 2.30am. Later, about to make breakfast, went to open the dishwasher and the cupboard door attached to it (it's one of those built in ones) came off and fell on my foot (very heavy door, very bruised foot). Then, got to work and looked at my payslip for this month and realised I've somehow miscalulcate what I'm going to get paid by a fair bit (the 'wrong' way, if you know what I mean). Then, expected to finish work at 4pm and finally left at 5.45pm. Again. Wonderful.

Hey ho, these days are sent to try us. At least baby's been quite active today which takes my mind off being tired and keeps me entertained through endless meetings Grin.

Hope everyone else if having a good day!

TeaandHobnobs · 22/03/2012 21:12

Sorry to hear about the severe lack of sleep Kveta Sad you really sound like you could do with a day off! When does ML start for you?

I went to the Ideal Home exhibition with my mum this eve - what a pile of poo it was. At least the tickets were free, or we would have been really peed off. Mum reckons the Internet has killed any hope of getting good deals on stuff. Mostly they seemed to be selling upmarket tat!

However I am paying the price for all that walking now - ouch Sad Off to run a nice warm (not too hot) bath and wait for DH to return.

ffnorm · 22/03/2012 21:54

Evening everyone!

Wecome SamJ

Hang in there morning! Are you able to stay at your original hospital or did you have to move?

SSC that would freak me out!!!(the money part that is) Sorry to hear about your foot, hope it doesn't bruise too badly

Kazyr the final stretch, hopefully not too stressful Smile

Cathfin thanks for the heads up about Mothercare3 for 2 really helps especially for the unexciting things like mat pads.Have to say 1st time around no one told me how many mat pads I would need... (not helped by undiagnosed retained placenta...)

Got an email from NCT today advertising birthing wear - maybe I'm a miser but don't understand spending £30 - £50 on something that is going to probably get ruined Hmm Did get 2 sumer tops in the Peacocks sale for £3 each,so maybe am a miser Grin

blondiedollface · 22/03/2012 22:44

Wow, such a lot of news in a week, only 4 more pages of thread :p we ladies love to chat!!

Move went well, and we're even back online already - everything went as smoothly as possible, unfortunately my grandmother passed away on Mothers Day, which although not a shock as she'd been unwell for a while, was as unpleasant as any death in the family is..

ML starts end of next week (well 2 weeks of AL tacked onto the beginning) and I absolutely cannot wait, work are still trying to get rid of me and discipline me for the smallest most irrelevant , I'd have thought they'd realise with a week to go there's no point!!

Nice to finally have a nursery space to do with what we will, Cot, Travel System and Bath all arriving in April, so getting very excited now...

Fan I was born in Southmead and still live in Bristol!! I've chosen to go to Bath RUH for my LO however as I'm that side of town and travel to Southmead in rush hour could be a nightmare for me.

Hope all is well with everyone and everything that's going on for everyone is sorting itself out and panning out for the best :)

Kveta · 23/03/2012 10:06

sorry I'm being such a grump at the moment. am hoping that a weekend of resting will help cheer me up.

DS woke at 4.45 this morning and talked at us until I dropped him off at the childminders - it's odd to think that only a year ago I was wondering if he would ever be able to talk Hmm now we are wondering if he has a reset or mute button anywhere, and if so, how do we switch it. Both DH and I lost our temper with him this morning, he was being so irritating. the anti histamine last night didn't work, so am even more wrecked today, and dopey with it. brilliant!

blondi so sorry to hear about your grandmother - what a crappy day to die too. hope the funeral is ok.

I have 9.5 weeks left in the office, yay! Can not WAIT. can't believe that on tuesday I'll be 30 weeks - that's 75% of the way through!

roll on June, and the jubilee!

HorseyGirl1 · 23/03/2012 11:47

Just saw the note about sale at MOthercare. There is also a sale at M+S. I got 4 maternity bras for the price of 2 so well-pleased. Shocked at size that fitted me however! But someone else might get a bargain too so thought I'd mention it. 30 weeks also next Thurs - so pleased to be so far. xx

Kveta · 23/03/2012 11:50

sainsburys has a baby event at the moment too I think - will be going there later to look for lansinoh I think. possibly even for use at the moment, my nipples are fecking killing me after feeding DS every morning.

Kayzr · 23/03/2012 11:56

Kiddicare have 10% off everything until the 9th April. You need code CPMMC10 if anyone was planning on getting anything from there soon.

AmethystMoon · 23/03/2012 12:43

Surfmama & fanbelt I love West Witterings :) I have plans to spend some of my ML there with the little one if we have a nice summer. We're selling our boat at the moment :( :( :( (am very traumatised) mainly because the mast came down in a force 12 gale at the beginning of the year and caused untold damage, and the insurance company are refusing to pay for some of it, plus we can't really afford the associated costs now LO is on her way. Oh well I consider myself lucky to have had a brilliant past few years sailing around the solent :) Maybe we will bump into each other there with our LOs! I'm praying for a lovely long hot sumer Grin

Morning I'm sorry to hear about your Los heart probs, fingers crossed they'll get it sorted quickly and you can have peace of mind x

Welcome SamJ

Kveta Good news on your GTT result, sorry to hear you're still having a crap time sleeping (or not). I thought of you when I was wide awake at 3am this morning...I'm just so uncomfortable!

ffnorm I also had a giggle at the NCT email, I think I saw a birthign gown for about £60!!! Shock...I'd love something as gorgeous to swan a round in during the ealry stages of labour, but as you say it'll get wrecked, so I've got a little Primarni number lined up Grin

Blondie I am really sorry to hear your sad news x

I am working remotely today and their remote system has just crashed! Oh well, I might wander off around the woods with my dog for a bit in the sunshine then see if it's working again when I get back. It is lunchtime I guess.

Have lovely sunny weekends everyone :)

SpecialJK · 23/03/2012 15:15

Hi all. Lovely day! Smile

I'm very excited, on our way to Harrogate for the weekend to see an old friend. Stopping over in a Premier Inn tonight halfway there, so it feels like a proper mini-break Smile

thanks who posted the kiddicare discount info. Mamas and papas have some good discounts at the moment, inc 3 for 2 on bedding. If you register too, you get a £5 voucher to either spend instore or online.

Got the gingerbread stuff delivered too, I'm particularly in love with the lightshade

Thanks for the bra info, think I'm expanding again! Need to go get some more Grin

DairyNips · 23/03/2012 18:55

Evening allSmile

special ooh Harrogate is lovely, I went to college there!

kveta hope sleep improves for you soon ((hugs))

I've just come on to moan reallySad had a terrible headache since yesterday morning. Mainly in my eye. Saw midwife this morning and blood pressure/ urine all ok. She said to see dr if no better by late aft so I did and turns out I've got sinusitis. Got antibiotics, nasal spray and codeine to take. Trying to cope without the codeine as it says can cause constipation, headachesHmm and abdominal painConfused. Hope it improves soon anyway, I'm miserable.

Kayzr · 23/03/2012 20:36

Hello.

Kveta hope you get some decent sleep tonight.

Special I have only been to Harrogate once when we went for a meal there. Despite not living all that far away.

DP is currently at about 35,000 feet somewhere between Kuala Lumpur and Amsterdam. I can't wait to have him at home. So I can stay in bed sometimes Grin

But his Gran is very very ill. Sad FIL says he'll be extremely surprised if she lasts another week. She's 94 though so has had a good innings. She left her abusive husband when she was pg with FIL and raised him alone. So she's a very strong woman.

DP is desperate for her to hold on until June to meet DD. Sad

Sorry to be so sad.

smallwonder · 23/03/2012 23:24

Hi ladies,
Sorry to hear about DP's Gran Kayzr :( Indeed she sounds a very strong woman, she must love hearing about your plans and happy for DP to be coming home.

I've missed loads again!! I'm home on Monday (the wee hours, will be a total of 10 hours travelling -- I am so not moving from my bed forever!!!!) and will try again to catch up, I hope I haven't missed anything too important. Everyone is well I hope?

As usual cannot sleep, am in upright position surrounded by pillows and hoping to nod off at some point. I also keep saying 'I'm tired' all the time I seem to have shrunk too I feel like a small elephant to say the least!

Hope to talk beginning of week, enjoy the sunshine you've been promised gals. x

Fanbelt · 24/03/2012 03:18

Evening all, well I'm just not sleeping tonight. DH woke me up when he got in an hour or two ago (he's a musician so gets in from gigs at all hours). He's been sleeping in the spare room recently so we don't disturb each other but I hate not having him with me (even though I get a better night's sleep!) so weekends we get together again. Except now I'm awake with chronic heartburn - it's making me feel sick - can't sleep, haven't got any bloody Gaviscon so just had a glass of milk and sitting in nursing rocking chair hoping I'll drop off at some point (unlikely when I'm catching up on MN, I guess!!).

Thanks for all the money off/discount tips ladies. I should have lots of stuff left over from last 2 pgs but can't seem to find any of it so may have to buy some new. Although I run 2nd clothes sales with a friend of mine so may be able to get some good 2nd hand stuff (Shameless plug: Jellybean Good as New )

Kveta I'm 30wks on Tuesday too. Have to admit I'm getting to the 'I'm really fed up' stage - well past the 'blooming' 2nd timester!! And still (hopefully, maybe...) 8-9 wks to go...

Kayzr sorry to hear about your DP's Gran.

Ffnorm I agree re. crazy prices for nighties and other maternity wear - I'm currently sitting in my Matalan £6 nightie (a couple of sizes bigger and with buttons down the front for BF ease-of-access) - road testing it before it goes in the hospital bag.

Dairynips Sinusitis sounds horrible. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Welcome to the rollercoaster SamJ Smile

Right, I'm now hungry so off to get a bowl of cereal...

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 24/03/2012 09:26

Morning all!

Busy weekend in prospect here at House Cheddar (using the phrase 'House Cheddar' has must made me realise that baby will, in that case, be a Mini Cheddar. Oh dear. Think I'm still quite tired Grin).

Men moving the pool table out to an outbuilding for us should be arriving very shortly so we had to clear all the space round it last night. Then off to the haidressers later, which was postponed from last Saturday as we were so busy last weekend! Finally, need to start clearing our bedroom so the plasterer can start work on Monday - must deconstruct the bed and both wardrobes at the very least! Sooo not looking forward to sleeping on a mattress on the dining room floor for the next few weeks, but hey, it'll be worth it in the end Hmm.

We've moved so much stuff out of the dining room into the kitchen as a temporary measure so they can get to the pool table that I can't get in the freezer for bread for breakfast! Breakfast today has been a large mug of tea and several dark chocolate digestives. Flaming good job I passed that GTT!

Hope everyone that's not feeling great manages to get some rest and recovers a bit, and that everyone has a good weekend.

Kayzr · 24/03/2012 16:36

DP is HOME!!!! GrinGrinGrin

DairyNips · 24/03/2012 19:14

That's brilliant kayzr!!!Grin

Fanbelt · 24/03/2012 21:13

Yay! so pleased for you Kayzr Smile

We had our first BBQ of the season today. Went for a long walk along and paddle in the stream near where I live with the kiddies and generally sat outside enjoying the sunshine. It just makes you feel so good. Smile Although I'm feeling the effects now - aching hips/pelvis, leg cramps etc. Just running myself warm bath before (hopefully) getting a better night's sleep than last night.

Going to garden centre tomorrow to pick up some bits and pieces to spruce up the garden. Hope everyone else is enjoying a lovely weekend.

emblosion · 25/03/2012 09:37

Hooray Kayzr! :)

Ooo fanbelt, I want a BBQ now!
