1,000 posts into the very popular September 2012 thread, here's a new one, for knicker checking, boob prodding, toilet rushing, oh and eating the entire contents of the fridge or McDonalds

Here's to our tiny beans and all the lovely ladies lost along the way.

Full steam ahead to booking in and positive scans aplenty.

I have my booking today, I've worked me out to be 9+2 today so here's hoping! I'm planning on begging for a scan, once again, I've woken with no nausea, terrible wind and boobs aren't sore at all.... Yet, if yesterday is anything to go by, I'm gonna be feeling sick as a dog by tonight, haave bad wind and my boobs are gonna be as sore as ever!! Oh the joys!!

Its my neices birthday party this weekend so I'm a little worried that everyone is gonna guess!! I don't drink anyways but its the amount I'm eating!! Ah well, here's hoping I can fob them off for a few weeks by telling people that because I had been ill I needed to eat more... :-s I dunno!!

Anyone got any ideas??

pamplem0usse · 01/02/2012 11:14

Loopy I have to day, with this LO I'm a bit more chilled out about maternity services. I had to demand a new midwife with my daughter because my first one was so utterly awful (v rude, didn't fill out right forms, etc...). Now I'm moving and my GP won't let me book in locally but I can't book an appointment to book in at my new house until I've moved... i.e. about a month...... when I'll be 11 weeks..... ARGH!
Also feeling shocking today....

holls2000 · 01/02/2012 11:32

sassie my boobs are ok in the morning and by the evening are horrendously sore. My symptoms are all still there so am keeping my fingers crossed for a strong bean on Friday morning. The wait has been horrendous but now it's nearly here I almost don't want to know!

pamplem0usse · 01/02/2012 11:36

Does not being able to go into the kitchen due to fishy smell from DH's tea last night constitute sufficient reason to order a dominos?

Hmmm......

LittleSpade · 01/02/2012 12:21

How does this work?! Slept awfully (woke up about 3am and didn't really get back to sleep) and felt really sick this morning, probably about the worst since the ms started about 2 weeks ago, but after breakfast and a shower i've felt better this morning than i have in ages. I'm blaming it on the sunshine cheering me up :)

FloydieDoydie · 01/02/2012 13:06

Well my tesco delivery yesterday was a success - they brought my raspberry sorbet! huzzah! I nearly kissed the woman who delivered it Grin

The less good news is that I feel sick all day everyday now. If I'm not shovelling food into my gob, I wanna puke. No actuall pukeage just yet (although a little bit in my mouth last night). I'm praying I won't progress to actual chucking up, as I'm a terrible vomiter, there's tears and weeing. It's not a good look Blush

On that note are we all pelvic floor exercising? I have a quick squeeze whenever I remember, but they are still feeling pretty pathetic (hence the wee/vom fear).

No sign of a booking in appointment here; although I'm only 6+4, I had begged the doctor to ask for an early scan to reassure me after the mc last time. He thought they might do it, but only at 8 weeks. DP is at the hospital on Friday so I might pop round and plead enquire.

Sending positive vibes to all those worrying right now. and flex those fanjos ladies!

MadMonkeys · 01/02/2012 13:22

Good advice Floydie - I keep forgetting those cursed pelvic floor exercises. Does anyone actually NOT hate them? Oh and I wish you hadn't mentioned raspberry sorbet, you've got me drooling...

holls2000 · 01/02/2012 13:22

I wouldn't know how to flex my pelvic floor. Oh god. Oh god.

My confinement has bored me to the stage of clearing up the house. This is unhealthy so I pottered round the village to be asked by no less than 6 people why I wasn't at work. Have come to a cafe for lunch and to hide and because I can't face another hour in my house at the moment with only myself for company!!!!

In other news I have started feeling q queasy; no vom yet (like you floydie I have wee and tears and a bit of snot when I puke so hoping it stays away).

Hoping you are all well and having a wonderful weds. I am constantly amazed at how differently hospitals organise the whole pregnancy thing.

york67 · 01/02/2012 14:14

So sorry crowette x
Well I think ms has kicked in. Today was especially bad. Was sorting out cupboards and forgot lunch which probably didn't help.
Carb cravings have really kicked in now too. Suddenly all the health salad I brought is really unappealing.
Hope ladies feeling poorly are feeling better soon.

Loopyhasanotherbean · 01/02/2012 14:55

phoned the hospital, got nowhere, they said the midwife triggers the scan date, and they don't usually send dates out until THE WEEK BEFORE THE SCAN DATE!!!!!

Loopyhasanotherbean · 01/02/2012 14:58

so crappy the system here. going to see if the midwife can arrange a scan date for us when i see her next week. i really need more notice than that, as i have work committments as does DP, plus they say not to take DC's with you, but we have no family nearby and no real close friends here either, so if the nursery can't take him then we will have to take DS with us to the scan, and the nursery aren't great at taking last minute bookings!!! i can so see how this is going to end up - it will fall on the day of my work monthly meeting, which will get me in trouble with them, and the nursery will be booked up, so then the hospital won't like us either :(

Tooodlepip · 01/02/2012 15:05

Hi everyone

I feel like I need to be violently ill but my guts are refusing to move. I must be the worst need to vomit person in the world, ok I'm being dramatic. its just constant all day, every day but getting worse, as I woke up at 7 this morning and had to try and make it downs stairs to make tea and toast. I hope I get my hospital letter soon, it will give me something to look forward too, can't believe I just said that.

I'm lucky our system is pretty good over here (Northern Ireland), so I should get my first app for early March time or end off, although I don't think we have that many options in our midwife care, my main worry is that I'll go into labour and not get a bed in the midwife led unit, thats all.

Hope everyone else doing well

holls2000 · 01/02/2012 15:12

I saw midwife last week - was 6 +2 then, I think. Only saw her early as have PCOS and dr was a tad worried. Nothing through about scan but suspect that they are going to use Friday's scan as the dating scan as well as checking out after bleed last week. The MW tells me one thing and the nurses at the EPU say another...all a tad confusing though they are all kind and try to be sympathetic which must be difficult as they must get the same queries every day....!

Have suddenly come over all cold so going to watch crappy tv under the duvet!!

Littlecherublegs · 01/02/2012 15:25

holls Im with you on the being freezing so hiding under the duvet watching rubbish daytime TV!

Feel so sick today, worst it has been so far. Still want to eat loads though??!! Confused

Really feel like I want to tell people too so then at least everyone will know why I'm not being my joyous, social self and can explain why I look and feel crap!! Am only 7+3 though and DH is adamant we're not telling anyone until after the 12 week scan!

Oh well, all is fine - and I think I'm off to indulge in a grab bag of Maltesers!! Smile

quitcomplaining · 01/02/2012 16:06

Antenatal care seems to vary so much between areas. My surgeries policy is that the midwife will not see you until you have missed 2 periods which in my case is 8 weeks so hopefully leaves plenty of time to get scan sorted but in the case of someone with v.long cycles I'm guessing they could be 11 weeks by this point maybe?

Anyway since my self indulgent post about the hypermesis I can tell you that I was giving a lovely jab of anti sickness medicine in my arse and sent off with some tablets after an afternoon on a drip. The tablets keep me from me from actually vommiting but I still feel like shite.

Dd has watched far too much peppa pig this week much to her delight!

I have to go back to epu for a scan booked in for tuesday when I'll be 7+5 to check for multiples as the sickness coupled with my very early bfp at only 9 dpo could suggest twins! I'm sure it's not though.

(or rather I can't entertain the idea of 3 under 3!)

OutMeAndDie · 01/02/2012 16:12

oh quitcomplaining Twins. [raises eyebrows]. looking forward to hearing after your scan. i just barely feel pg, i am so paranoid.
DS not slept well the last couple of nights and DH not being sympathetic to me being moody :(

sasslejaney84 · 01/02/2012 16:25

quitcompaining twins!!! Could be fun!! My SIL is pregnant with twins and she has a 'just-turned-1-today' year old!!!

She was a little shocked when she went for an emergency scan and they said there was two!!

Been to see the midwife today and I have my scan for the 28th of feb! They are doing it all in one, dating scan and NT testing, I can't wait!!

Here's hoping everything is ok!!

quitcomplaining · 01/02/2012 17:11

Sasseljaney84

Do you mind me asking why she needed an earlier scan? Was it similar circumstances?

My dd is 18 months at the moment so will be 2.2 by the time Im due.

This pregnancy is a whole different kettle of fish compared to before. I sailed through last time. No sickness or tiredness or anything. I felt great all the way from bfp until due date.

This time I have had spotting, I have hypermesis and I'm in bed by 8pm every night! And I'm only 6+6!!

lurkingmurking · 01/02/2012 17:40

Floydie love the sorbet cravings!! Argh I am dreadful at doing pelvic floors - you have inspired me!

I can't believe how much mw care varies between areas and even at the same hospital. I've had my doctors appointment so am waiting for the booking in now.

I had dinner with two friends who are both due around the same time as me which was so fab to talk pregnancy for hours! 11 sleeps until my private scan!

sasslejaney84 · 01/02/2012 18:05

quitcomplaining she has a few gynea problems and had been bleeding and was taken to hospital when she called the consultant who deals with her case.

Just had my tea and I think I may have eaten too much!! Feel a little sick so I'm gonna have to have a lay down!!

ballroomblitz · 01/02/2012 19:06

Toddles I'm in Northern Ireland too. What hospital are you going to?? Mine will be consultant led because of my previous. I have no option but to go for RVH Royal Jubliee in Belfast as they are the ones that have my notes and they have the NICU that ds was in before. Although the recent bug in their NICU is very scary.

Loopy do the maternity hospital not have a creche?

Wow quitcomplaining. Twins? I would crap myself Grin. Everyone has been keeping me going about twins as dp is one and it runs in my mum's side of the family. They just get the death glare every time it is mentioned.

Dorita75 · 01/02/2012 19:31

Loopy God that's nuts, hope something gets sorted for you soon Brew in absence of Wine

Ethel you're my scan twin! Mine's 5pm tomorrow, private one as I can't wait for nhs one...barely any symptoms still, and desperate to tell people! Hope your's reassures you about things Smile

Floydie I keep remembering the pelvic floors....do them when at bus stops and train stations, it's gotta be worth it??? Also loving the raspberry sorbet, almost out so need to stock up.

York67 how far are you? I'm 9+3 now but had massive carb cravings and 'have to eat to stop the sick feeling' for about 2 & half weeks, seems to have eased this last week tho...managed to eat vegetables for tea tonight (with load of pasta...) Am not too bad with smells Pamplem0use but if I go for a bath in the evening, coming back downstairs and smelling whatever we've cooked earlier knocks me sick.

Thanks Macaroons and ballroom for good luck msgs...fingers crossed

I won't lie - I had to make notes on a notepad of who'd said what in order to write this!

One Born Every Minute tonight, can't wait!!! Have a nice evening everyone xx

holls2000 · 01/02/2012 19:57

Oh goodness me, I'm watching Maternity Ward and this super excited dad has made me cry!

baileyslover · 01/02/2012 20:34

Hi can I join? I am 6 + 1 so due date I think is 26th Sept. No real MS yet, just a general queasiness and carb craving, especially peanut butter on toast :)
Last time I remember having sore boobs as one of the first signs, but there is nothing this time. My over whelming problem is tiredness. I just cannot get the energy together to do much with DS, so I feel like a pretty useless mum at the moment :(

rightontime · 01/02/2012 20:55

Just dropping in to remark my place. I am lurking a lot and keeping up to date ish but it is impossible to remember and reply to everyones posts so I do apologise for my lack of chat.

MW booking appointments at my surgery are not done until you are 10weeks and they only do them on a tuesday so I will be 10+3 by the time I get my appointment. I already have a 12week scan booked but that is with the specialist team who are an hours drive away and they wont do the NT test so have said I need to book another 12week scan at my local hospital for the nuchal. All seems a little odd and TBH I will probably just cancel the one with the specialist team. They can't see anything more at this stage than the team at my local hospital Confused

Welcome to the new ladies. Grin

For those of you that have had to leave the thread or who are having worrying times, my thoughts are with you. My time for worrying, as whatevertheweather said will be later on, mainly around the 20week scan and beyond, assuming I make it that far...

I too am getting bad skin and hair. Skin is worse around the hairline and my eyebrows, presumably because they are getting greasier.
