Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
pommedenoel · 03/02/2012 18:21

Yay scream on the tests! I didn't have ANY bh with dd1 at all the whole time so I wouldn't worry.

Popcorn - welcome, welcome, how exciting! It is a great due date, good for lo at school and good for you - no abstaining over Xmas

Biscuits - Love CD226 - I'd never thought of it like that before!

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 03/02/2012 18:31

Welcome Popcorn! When your ready take your pick of glittery buckets we have them in all colours. It definitely takes a while to get used to having a +ve test. How far along are you?

Dream I have ordered a Ju Ju Be prepared. I will hopefully have it by tomorrow so can tell you what I think. It is definitely the largest bag I could find. I ordered it off ebay and asked the seller if they would do it any cheaper and they knocked £10 off, really pleased by the service. I was watching videos on youtube of how much they could pack inside. Very impressive!
I hope your Dd is ok, maybe some vit c/vitamins would help boost her immune system?

Scream glad you got the all clear excellent work. Wink

My MW said 36 weeks for raspberry leaf tea, I will try and get some tomorrow, I had a 25 min pushing stage so I am hoping it helped with that. I was double bagging each cup by the end as I was sick of the taste of it by 40+! I also asked about labour and she said I need to call them when my contractions are 7-5 mins apart and lasting 40 secs, so fairly early but I am very worried about having the baby on the kitchen floor or hospital car park!

I have been having a lovely time with my Dad recently and tomorrow I have a hair appointment, I haven't had my hair cut since before I was pregnant! SO long overdue and I like to be tidy so has been annoying me for ages!

Envy of napping children, mine doesn't any more and I really could do with the rest! Although thankful to have a sleeping child, poor Dream!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 03/02/2012 19:11

Welcome Popcorn! 8 Oct is the day after my birthday, so naturally it's a great date.

Yay Scream, have another Creme Egg to celebrate! I didn't know I was having BH in my first pg until the MW told me she'd felt one while examining me at about 39 weeks. And I clearly still don't recognise them now, either! I am now confused and wondering what's BH and what's Bean, unless it's an actual kick. Maybe everything I have thought was a squirm is actually a tightening.

Jaggy, I'm fine but DH, after being really good, cheerful and supportive, yesterday, is now feeling the reaction and has spent all day glooming and miserable. I think he a) was petrified but doing an excellent job of hiding it and b) had a little part of him wishing that I really was in labour and that the suspense of this pregnancy would be over. Oooh, and then my boss phoned and suggested I should just start mat leave now. I said no because I want to save it for after Bean's birth, and he said perhaps I could get signed off sick instead. It's v tempting!

Envy of Purple's hair appt. I need one too - my hair is horribly split-ended and yet somehow we seem to have spent a ridiculous amount of money already this month and I'll have to wait.

DreamingOfPeace · 03/02/2012 19:54

Evening all!

Assuming a position near dd's door, inching out... The poor thing is indeed ill again. Won't eat anything, more squits, 3 full changes of clothes kind of squits...

Biscuitsandtea · 03/02/2012 20:01

Oh Dream. :( I don't even know what to say! I could offer you my complete sympathy but that's not a lot of help is it!

DreamingOfPeace · 03/02/2012 20:06

Oops, accidental pressing of 'post'

She's got a temp too so is calpoled up in her cot. she's even lying down already!!!! Prob change soon, but I feel sorry for her.

Anyway, Hooray, creme egg it up scream!! Will check out the Portland on laptop later but if its quite expensive and not huge, I need nappies, snacks, muslins, clothed etc for 3-eek! I've quite wanted one for a while though...

purple, I really, really like the juju bag that can be a rucksack too. They're so pricey though... I have a feeling the bag most practical for me will be the Babymel x2 so its basically 2 bags attached to each other so you can have one side for each baby with twins, or one side for baby (babies) and one for toddler. Then if I get a chance to send dd off to playground etc without me my mum or dad can just take her stuff. It is not half as pretty as a juju though...

My hair is also dire. Not sure if this is because I've made no effort with it or if its changed through the hormones of pg?! It used to be really curly, all I ever had to do was whack a bit of mousse in and scrunch every now and then. Now is just neither one nor the other, won't curl properly,I can't be bothered to dry and straighten, argh!!!

too, get yourself signed off my dear- one of your complaints should do it, how about the spd? If you go in and say my employer suggested I get signed off it works a treat- so say two of my friends, barely a question asked. They were genuine problems, like yours, but they were still worried about actually getting signed off!

My phone is playing up, hang on, will post and see if u missed anything vital...

DreamingOfPeace · 03/02/2012 20:08

I know biscuits, I can't believe it. I swear I'm bf these boys til high school, just in case that's what's made the difference... Funny coincidence, no more boob, every bug under the sun...

Wants3 · 03/02/2012 20:18

Sorry to hear DD poorly again dream
Talking about bringing baby home, we have a picture of ds2 in the car seat with ds1 crashed out on the sofa when we arrived home!
Hello popcorn I remember when you name changed on the TTC thread. I felt abit of a fraud when I 'graduated' so quickly!
I seem to be growing out of my bras again and am feeling uncomfortable by the evening. I can't really afford to buy more and then get feeding bras so not sure what to do.

Biscuitsandtea · 03/02/2012 20:35

Wants is it chest wise, or cup wise that you're growing out of them? You can get those bra strap expander things to increase the back size a bit?

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 03/02/2012 20:38

Dream I have the packabe already Blush and I am not sure if it would be large enough.. It was big enough for a long day out with dd and snacks.etc but it won't be big enough with two and probably not for your three. If I decide to sell my packabe I will let you know. Oh and the BFF is smaller than packabe.
Oh JJBs often go fairly cheap on ebay on auction so again you could keep your eyes peeled, I got my perfect packabe for about £45!

Oh you can always express milk for Dd or see if she wants to feed again once the boys are here, show us all up by feeding three at once. Wink

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the prices are cheaper now to get my hair done there! I had absconded for a year and a half trying other places, so even better! My hair is long so you can get away with not cutting for longer but I have been desperate to get it done for a loong time!

Too get signed off and put your feet up! Go on! And poor Dh, mine is quite traumatised by my labour with Dd and is quite worried about it this time, I think sometimes they can't deal with it in quite the same way. Also they try and be strong for us and then suffer later on :(

Wants Bravado bras, the sizing is usually across a couple of cups so your chest can expand and they are maternity/nursing bras. They are really supportive to, the best I have tried. :)

Biscuitsandtea · 03/02/2012 20:38

This sort of thing

jenfraggle · 03/02/2012 21:15

Just a quickie

Popcorn lovely to see you, please stay

Dream I don't suppose DD can sleep in the bath tonight? :O

jenfraggle · 03/02/2012 21:16

That was supposed to be a :o I got excited with my shift

DreamingOfPeace · 03/02/2012 21:30

lol jen little dd, went to sleep by 8:30, clearly too grotty to kick up her usual shit protest much. Bath could be a great option Grin (oh, poor little tike!)

rubbish purple now i have to go back on that lethal website n check out the bag you've got...

wants, i'v been in bra extenders for a looong time. no good if its actual boobage though thats expanded...

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 03/02/2012 21:46

Dream it is in perky perennials, quite loud but nice for when I am in a loud mood. My be prepared is in pretty tweet, which is a discontinued print so had to jump on it with £10 off although still painfully expensive! I do deduct the cost of the acclaimed JJB bag clips as I was going to buy some anyway so the fact they were free obviously means I got a good deal... Haha
This was the channel I spent a while looking at last night to help me decide if you have a spare few hours minutes!

jaggythistle · 03/02/2012 22:57

oops, woke DS up a bit when i got in and went in to touch see him tonight. Blush luckily he just muttered a bit and settled ok.

surprised he's slept so well as his cold from last week is lingering and he seems to be teething and not too keen on eating. he was already getting a bit fussy, it's getting worse now. i guess it sucks to have sore gums and not be able to breathe through your nose much. i have no doubt jinxed it now and sleep will go to pot too!

dream poor DD and you. :( I'm finding it uncomfortable doing nappies now so extra ones and clothes changes must be awful for you! hope it's short lived and you get some luck soon.

glad your blood is awesome scream. :)

DreamingOfPeace · 04/02/2012 08:31

Morning,
Well, we had a great night, only up once!!! She's still in her cot now at 8am too. Hopefully some good rest will help her recover.

I think I'm the only person ever to not bring my baby in the house in the carseat.... I have a picture of her in it in the hospital, but we had to belt it in every time, so left the seat in the car, always. I have a picture of me and her, cuddling on the sofa within 5 min of getting home, does that count?!

Vicious colds around jaggy, I can't shake mine off... Hope your ds keeps on sleeping and gets better soon.
Carrying dd a lot is getting hard, gives me back pain, bump ache, etc etc... But she's so little I can't not pick her up. Wild leg kicking during nappy changes where slow-moving enormous pg bellies get kicked is also doing my head in- trying ignoring plus distractions as saying stop kicking just encourages her!!!

Hi popcorn, lovely to see you! Make youself comfy for the duration :-)

musicalmrs · 04/02/2012 08:42

Hi all!

Sorry for the radio silence - a mad few days! Catching up from two days ago...

Pop, hello! Grin Pull up a glittery bucket and join the fun! I remember feeling very odd the first few times I posted on the antenatal thread, like I was somehow intruding... but everyone's very lovely.

Too, eek, that sounds very scary! At least there were upsides though - listening to bean I mean! Hope you're feeling ok on the antibiotics.

Scarlet, sorry you were feeling like an emotional wreck yesterday. I have days when I feel exactly the same. I hope a good cry got it out of your system...

Purple, so sorry you have a cold too! :( 35 weeks today though? Wow! :) It was you singing the praises of nappies, wasn't it? I'll be ordering the bargain trial pack (the one which costs £10 or something?) over the next week, with the hope it'll arrive during half term when I'm off work! I also need to go and get my hair cut -thinking it's something I'll treat myself to when I'm on ML.

Biscuits, I'm planning to do both the tea and the perineal massage. I'll probably do tea rather than capsules as I'm a big tea drinker. Although, saying that, are the capsules more potent? All this said, only being 26 weeks it'll still be a while off for me...

Wants, hurrah for a good MW appointment. DH came to my last one and really enjoyed hearing the heartbeat. He'll be at my next one too, mainly because it's the day we hop off on holiday, so he's already got it off of work!

Pomme, hope your DD is feeling better.

Scream, congrats for passing the GTT (celebratory chocolate time?) and for good 28w bloods. Hurrah for the car seat too! I've heard that story about families with their new LO and the car seat - sounds so lovely and romantic! Sadly we won't have that moment, as we went for a seat that fixes into the car and can't be carried - deliberately! - so we'll be missing out on that one!

Dream, so sorry DD is ill yet again :( Poor thing.

Enjoying all the talk of changing bags. I haven't got one yet - thinking I want one that can be a rucksack too (or instead?) to ensure even weight distribution for when I'm using the sling. It's one of the few things I have left to get... oh, and muslins! Any recommendations for good places to get them from?

Mammoth post, sorry! I'm struggling with sleeping even more - have been up since about 4.15am, not impressed. On the plus side, I have a nice quiet weekend planned, so I can hopefully catch a nap. LO has a new trick of attacking me on either side of my stomach at the same time, which is most odd.

We also saw a house yesterday that we think might be perfect. Having a second viewing later this afternoon, hopefully with my dad as a second opinion- but we're very tempted! It's also at the bottom of our price range (and in one of the best areas in town!) which means we could be more relaxed with regards to me going back to work. Exciting! The lady selling it knew we were pregnant, and kept telling me how various things in the house helped her out when she had her kids (like the big entrance way for the buggy, and the fact it could be pushed through the house straight to the garden if the baby was sleeping!). Price quickly for a quick sale though, so we'll have to move fast.

Seen as I'm up, I suppose I might as well do the chores..!

musicalmrs · 04/02/2012 08:45

Cross posts Dream! Glad DD had a good night - hope she's a lot better today.

I also won't be bringing the car seat into the house - it'll be staying in the car - so I'll have to have a similar cuddling on the sofa picture! :)

jaggythistle · 04/02/2012 09:16

haha dream i was right, he was up at quarter to 1 asking for 'a drink please' was impressed with asking nicely at that hour. he cuddled into me to drink his water and he felt so hot! got him some calpol and he settled ok though.

only ate about two spoonfuls of breakfast then asked for just a cup of milk. he was the same at lunch yesterday. not sure if it's the teeth or if he's coming down with something. Confused

jaggythistle · 04/02/2012 09:28

i get kicked a bit for nappies too, he is a bit wriggly and overenthusiastic sometimes.

good luck house hunting musical :)

i think I'll be off to Boots for a new free change bag. Blush not really a bag person!

Biscuitsandtea · 04/02/2012 09:39

Jaggy and Dream hope your littlies are all better soon. As long as he's drinking milk jaggy at least he's getting some fluid and calories in there.

I do feel for you with the kicky nappy changes - I can recall DS being like that. It was when we had started ttc so when he was prob a similar age to Dream's dd and I used to panic so much about it. It was when we stopped using the change table as he was just the right height to kick me in the tummy and DH in the delicates! And like you Dream saying no just seemed to encourage him and he'd think it was funny Confused. Doing it on the floor helped but obviously I wasn't actually pregnant so you have my full sympathy for trying to get through this with a bump Sad

Musical sorry you've been up for so long but hope you get a nap and a chilled out weekend now.

Biscuitsandtea · 04/02/2012 10:12

hmmm, courtesy car just arrived for our BMW 5 series estate - a 1 litre 2 door Fiat 500!!!

FFS

I don't think we'll be taking that on 4 hour each way trip to the rellies next week!

Biscuitsandtea · 04/02/2012 10:14

DH doesn't even bloody fit in it and there's no way I can have fi me and DS as we won't fit the car seat in.

Like for like my arse!!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 04/02/2012 12:30

I need to find out how much paid sick leave I have left before I can get signed off - I've used quite a lot this year between being signed off for 6 weeks last July, having a week off for the amnio, another week when I was feeling particularly stressed and the odd day here and there.

Musical, that house sounds lovely - hope it's as good on a second viewing! Bean woke me up by doing monster kicks, but not until 10am Blush.

Grin at Biscuits and the car rage.

Jaggy, hope your DS is better soon and it's just teething, not a bug.

Dream, you poor, poor thing with another illness to cope with! I don't know how you do it.

Think some hospital bag shopping is in order today if we can be bothered. I just need to get the toiletries, really - mini shampoo/conditioner, mini toothpaste, peppermint capsules for post-section digestive discomfort, Lansinoh, mat pads, breast pads, more nappies, paracetamol and a pair of shower flipflops. We'll have to go to the big Boots for all this stuff, which is about 10 miles away.
