he wolfed a big bowl of porridge for lunch with no complaints so fingers crossed! i was trying to think of soft things he might have. :)

i have a shopping list too but no days off till Monday...

MeconiumHappens · 04/02/2012 13:48

Just a little hello from me! Hope everyone is 'blooming' marvelous and enjoying the lovely bits and brooking no argument with the less lovely aspects.
Im now 27 and a bit weeks and everything going lovely. Had a rather scrummy 4d scan of baby last week, which was amazing. We also found out the sex despite declining at 20 week scan!! DH had a change of heart and felt it would really help him to get excited about the baby planning so we went for it and are team blue! :) Am now shopping like a woman possessed! I think we have everything we could need now and much much more.
incidentally, we found out that placenta is low lying at 3d scan which wasnt picked up on 20 week scan, so pleased i went, and rescan booked in march to check it has moved out of the way. I am, of course, brooking no argument on this.
7 more weeks at work til mat leave starts, cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!

pommedenoel · 04/02/2012 13:51

Jaggy - good news on the porridge!
Biscuits - your car rant made me giggle too, what are you going to do?

Meconium! Hello! Glad to hear all is well and huge congrats on your blue bum (tm purple!). Knowing does make all the shopping much more in general I find! So much fun.

pommedenoel · 04/02/2012 13:51

Bum = bun! What an error!

MeconiumHappens · 04/02/2012 13:54

ps raspberry leaf tea should actually be started early, around 32 weeks with a small amount and very gradually built up. The advice floating around is very out of date.

MeconiumHappens · 04/02/2012 13:56

haha enough about my bum...!

Biscuitsandtea · 04/02/2012 14:20

Hello Meconium - glad to hear it's all going ok :)

Car wise we're stuck with it until ours is fixed. DH will just have to put up with it and mind his head if he goes over a speed hump! However I have said he should think about having a word with the insurance co if it turns out ours is going to be a while.

scarletfingernail · 04/02/2012 14:43

Grin Biscuits oh dear about the car. A bit of a difference from what you're used to going out in! I love those Fiat 500s, they look like sweets on wheels.

Meconium hello! Good to hear from you and congratulations on your blue bump.

musical how exciting! I hope the second viewing goes well for you this afternoon.

dream I hope your poor DD is feeling better. Sounds like your DS is on the mend now Jaggy Mine's been snotty for well over a month now.

Has everyone else got snow yet? It's just starting to settle here, DS is already going on about his sledge. He's been waiting for snow for the last 3 months since we bought it Grin. I shall stay nice and warm in the house and let DH go out with him. I can't possibly pull the sledge around in my condition.

OP posts:
DreamingOfPeace · 04/02/2012 14:55

Gah. it's raining here and I want to sledge!!!!

jenfraggle · 04/02/2012 14:59

No snow down here in Cornwall, just rain.

Musical fingers crossed for good second viewing.

Biscuits hopefully you won't have that car for very long

Meconium another blue. Not sure what the stats are on here but have a feeling that the boys are winning. I haven't found out but think I've got one and I'm sure I remember someone else saying the same thing

Pomme I hope you aren't spending all your time thinking about Meconium's bum :o

Biscuitsandtea · 04/02/2012 15:08

Yep - just started snowing here too Scarlet - DS is banging on about his sledge! He already asked if I have a sledge and I said no, so he said I'll have to stay inside SmileHmm

I should be clear that I have nothing against the Fiat 500 per se - I'm sure it's a lovely little car and actually they do look quite cute. But cute isn't really what scores points with a v tall husband, a v wide (currently!) wife and a child in a car seat!

We're lucky that our other car is big enough to do us for family things, just about. At least all 3 (4?) of us fit in it at the same time!

Just about to order some RLT I think. Just working out how much I'll need. If I'm getting up to 4 cups a day, a box won't last all that long I guess! Someone on amazon rated it 2/5 because it didn't send them into labour Hmm

Biscuitsandtea · 04/02/2012 15:08

And good luck this afternoon musical - hope it goes well xx

DreamingOfPeace · 04/02/2012 15:10

and biscuits, i never had a changing table until the one i've bought for the twins arrived, but the floor became impossible because she can get up fast as lightening and leg it.... I even had to resort to pull ups to get her into a nappy more easily standing up...

My 'waist' is now 41.5 inches (yesterday at 29 +2) - eeek!!!! I'm so huge. My tunic tops are all getting far too short, I've grown out of several tops, how bloody huge am I going to be?!

DD much perkier, she's had some food, only loose motions, not the full on squits, so fingers crossed was a passing bug.

scarlet, I find evenings a good time for random weepiness... scarily regularly about DD, coping with twins, making sure DD doesn't feel ousted by 2 demanding babies, how sore my ribs are, how scared I am of either method of birth... Will I be able to push properly with these hideous varicose veins in my fanjo? Would VB and then another straight away actually be ok? Should I push for ELCS even if I go into spontaneous labour? (definitely booking ELCS for 38 weeks, I'm not being induced again, no way am I as brave as pomme!). Honestly DH is sick of hearing it, I think you sound much more sane than me Wink

Happy house viewing muscial, sounds exciting

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 04/02/2012 15:21

I made milk! Grin Just a teeny bit, but am ever so pleased with myself. I was reading a thread about BF and just playing with my nipple, as you do Grin, and a little bubble of milk suddenly appeared. Yay!

Oooh, Dream, have you read that diary of a quad pregnancy? Here There are pics of her bump growing week by week, and she's now 25 weeks and enormous. I'm not planning to measure my bump just yet, or weigh myself - I am going to weigh myself the day before my ELCS and then see how much I lose in the first week or so post-birth.

Meconium, congrats on a little boy!

No snow here either. What is the point of living in bloody Scotland if it doesn't snow? It's just very wet and a bit sleety.

Have not managed to get organised and go to Boots after all. It looks too miserable out there, so am staying in here where it's warm and dry. Maybe tomorrow.

DreamingOfPeace · 04/02/2012 17:09

Yes too, keep reading her quad diary, feel lucky I'm not fighting prem labour on a daily basis and imagine naturally conceiving quads Shock

Not left the house with dd either but think we've both got cabin fever, I can't remember the last time we were in all day... Dh went to town and got baby vests and maternity pads for me so may put some things like that ready in a bag next week- gulp... Once our tumble dryer is fixed and I wash the baby clothes anyway but 30 weeks sounds so early to do it. especially when i know I'll get to 38

scarletfingernail · 04/02/2012 19:00

Aaagh, another poorly DC here! He's been snotty for weeks, had a cough for weeks and saying his ear hurts since Monday. Today he has been a mixture of lethargic, whingey and naughty. Not like his usual self at all. When he got up from his nap earlier he was covered head to toe in a rash. I called OOH GP for advice who said to take him down there. So, he has a virus, but now he has had an allergic reaction to the virus. He's itching and complaining, but was very happy at another trip to the doctors and enjoying having his medicine (strange child). They've given him some antihistamine.

Glad we went now though, it's snowing heavy here now, so at least we don't have to do a mad panicked outing in the middle of the night.

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 04/02/2012 19:07

Oh Scarlet Sad. Poor DS Sad

At least he's good at taking the medicine - hope it will make him all better soon and the virus clears up too.

musicalmrs · 04/02/2012 20:30

Lovely to hear from you Meconium! How exciting to know you're team blue! I suspect we're team blue, but I don't know why (a UBB here). Knowing must make the shopping much easier - we've deliberately bought very little until LO's here because of it. Thanks for the raspberry leaf tea tip too - have marked it in my diary for 32 weeks.

Too, how exciting about the milk! So jealous that you got to sleep until 10am. Flagging now... very much looking forward to going to bed.

Biscuits, what a truly rubbish courtesy car! I agree with you about having a word with the insurance company if it ends up taking a while - bit ridiculous that they don't give you something that resembles your car space wise - what if you had had to fit four of you in it?!

Dream, so glad DD is getting better. You may feel huge, but you've got two beautiful boys growing inside you - it'll all be worth it! I daren't measure myself. The quad lady is absolutely massive - but what a stunning bump she has! :)

Thanks for all the good house hunting vibes! Second viewing went very well, and we've decided to put an offer in first thing on Monday. Very exciting! Of course there are so many things that could go wrong, but it's an exciting start.

jenfraggle · 04/02/2012 20:39

Boo to all these poorly DCs.

Anyone got any tips for achey bumps? All I've done is go and do the groceries but I started aching before we even got to the till. Not even a large shop taking a while so it's really pathetic to be playing up so quickly. I've only just started to develop a bump so how am I going to manage when I'm huge?

Biscuitsandtea · 04/02/2012 20:47

No tips other than sitting down to rest and taking it easy.

Lots of sympathy though - I've had this loads too. If it helps it isn't necessarily worse now I'm bigger, just not really any better. I would say I've had it from 24 weeks? Am 32 now.

DreamingOfPeace · 04/02/2012 21:05

oh no scarlet, really hope your DS feels better soon. Poor button. Thank goodness he takes medicine without a fuss.

oh my goodness, how exciting musical, thats very positive, I hope you get your first offer accepted Grin We didn't have hardly anything before DD was born, but stuff poured in after she arrived, fear not!

sympathy jen, mine also aches, not helped by having 10.2kg DD sat on it a lot. I've got a support band to wear but tbh I've barely used it so not sure if it helps...

Anyone else struggling woth appetite? I'm finding I'm hungry for breakfast and can eat cereal etc fine, but then don't fancy much lunch and never hungry for tea, particularly as my reflux/heartburn are worst by the evening. I am grazing on chocolate a fair bit, but hardly appropriate baby-growing calories... I must get some healthy snacks stocked up and resist the junk!!

NinjaChipmunk · 04/02/2012 22:44

evening all, just a quick one from me.

popcorn lovely to see you here and maybe 8cakes* will be along soon too? Make yourself comfy.

meconium lovely to see you too and congrats on a boy.

biscuits we also have a 5 series estate (an old one mind you) but I cannot imagine having to try and fit all of us and our crap in a fiat 500!

can't remember what else I was going to say but I may kill dp if he breathes his stinky garlic breath at me again. And we have snow, yay!!

DreamingOfPeace · 05/02/2012 19:58

biscuits, i wouldn't go a long way in a car with a squashed and (if it were mine anyway) grumpy dh. Thank goodness you're a two car family!!

I'm having a small period of mourning today as I have been asking on the twins group thread and no-one managed 'normal' stuff (as in pre-twins) with young toddlers and baby twin- and the majority had slightly older toddlers than my dd will be too. Even the mum I thought was superhuman, on questioning the practicalities of getting about with 3 LO's, has a live-in nanny, and says she's been out only a handful of times with all three by herself (her twins are 4 months now) . and various au pairs/ mother's helps and full days in nursery have emerged. So, I am lowering my ambitions and discussing with my dad the money he's giving us from my grandpa's Will to look at buying in some childcare,maybe....

Horribly strong and uncomfortable bh today. Good good, tone up uterus... Thinking I should maybe just man up and go for vb if i go into spontaneous labour despite my terror misgivings.

ninja, I want to kill dh several times a day now... Have you used a wrap sling before? I'm thinkin of a Moby? suitable for twins? I know you have you huggababy...

DreamingOfPeace · 05/02/2012 19:59

Oooh, what a selfish post.

Hope everyone's having lovely weekends and cooking those babies well Xx

Wants3 · 05/02/2012 20:39

Hi dream I have also been wondering where everyone is! Normally you go half a day and miss a few pages! Is everyone snowed out? Not a sausage here btw.
Baby cooking well here but finances not so good. When we planned this baby, we could afford it but now we are struggling to get through each month ATM and I haven't stopped work yet!:( DH is stressed and I feel guilty because I'm pregnant and can't change the situation!
Oops me me me post, must be the Sunday blues eh dream
