Moby is great starter sling Monkey go for it!

Massage sounds lovely. Our local beautitions do a mum to be package like that. Especially at this moment I feel in a grump with dh for taking his annoyance with his mother out on me.

I am getting lots of are you still with us type comments. Yes well obviously and i've still got a another month to go so stop asking.

As for being a proper mum of you give birth vaginally, as far as i'm concerned your a proper mum the minute you conceive. How it makes its arrival into this world is irrelevant. X

littlemonkeybix · 16/01/2012 13:59

here here hear hare here to queen on the real mother thing. Grin

TBH regardless of how pip gets here, I still worry about bonding. I'm confident it'll happen, but I'm convinced it'll take ages. I'm so unnatural at being with babies... but everyone expects me to be total earth mother, as I have an ease with toddlers and up. (mainly because I act like a dick most of the time!)

I have to admit I chuckled at the cum facial ... not for me thanks Wink But I am having a facial on Sunday with 2 pals... for one of their 40ths Grin... no cum involved afaik Grin

Went to a christening yesterday, DP's neice's DS (DGN) and didnt Pip decide that yesterday was the day to disappear intomy back and make my bump all small(er than usual) So all of my "i'm HUGE" comments of late were seemingly exaggeration!! However several people were still saying how huge I am.... so does that mean in RL I am MEGA heehee

Potol · 16/01/2012 14:15

FINE! 'A massage PLUS facial! You people have dirty dirty minds. Grin What did I expect though with a bunch of hormonal almost full term pregnant women eih? Wink

littlemonkeybix · 16/01/2012 14:21

heehee - Hope you have a lovely day though potol regardless of our tiny one tracked minds Grin [halo emoticon]

phlossie · 16/01/2012 17:48

Potol - are you going to be able to have your facial without giggling?!

hermionejgranger · 16/01/2012 18:30

phlossie good point - potol I bet you won't be able to avoid just a small snigger ;) I have a preggy lady pamper day to use which my DH bought me for my birthday so I'm going to book that for next week, I think.

I wonder if a cum facial is a good way of getting prostaglandins into the system to hurry labour along?

Getting very tired by the end of the day now - going to have a nice bath tonight and an early night I think.

Oh - and had a physio appointment today to look at my separated tummy muscles. Almost a total nightmare even before I got into the physio department - had to scrape loads of ice off the car so left later than I had intended, and then couldn't find a parking space apart from in the A&E car park which is a bit of a walk away - no problem usually but with the bump-waddle it was further than I wanted to walk really. So I rang the dept to say "terribly sorry, I'm going to be late" and then all of a sudden I was full of tears! Grrr bloody hormones! Managed to prevent the weeping, fortunately, and have some exercises to do and the world's biggest tubigrip to wear. It's a good job I'm already preggo because there is no way anyone would be going near me now!!

So it's nearly two weeks since DD was exposed to Chicken Pox and still no spots but a fussy couple of days. Am I going to stay lucky.....?!?!? Just another week and we're out of the incubation zone and I can stop crossing my legs.

At least if I can get tomorrow out of the way that would be good. DD is supposed to be at nursery whilst I enjoy a grown up day at the O2 seeing the gymnastics. DH got me tickets for my b'day as we missed out on the Olympic ballot for gymnastics. This will prob be my last solo grown up outing until DS stops BF.

woowa · 16/01/2012 20:07

oh DD, please please please go to sleep. Is this a phase? WIll it finish by the time DC2 arrives? SO much crying at bedtime, she just wants me to sit and hold her hand. Any advice? She's 23 months.

SOrry to hear about the cholestasis xav - how many weeks are you now? Amazing how many of us are waiting to be induced (possibly) for medical reasons.

Baby is back to unbelievably uncomfortable kicking, hope this doesn't mean it's shifting round, i would LOVE it to stay back to front, to make labour a bit more straightforward than last time.

DH and I FINALLY chose baby names last night :) We both said the same girl's name at the same time (first and middle), and decided it was clearly the name. Now he's convinced it must be a girl, and he'd really love a boy to do rugby stuff with. Ah well. We will find out soon. I'm just glad we have some names picked at last!

Potol · 16/01/2012 20:15

I will be sniggering through it all. Shall give you a proper update on Friday Grin.
In other news, went in for our appointment today and got told that we need to be there at 9 am on Thursday to sign all the consent forms and get our final date and if they have a slot they will do some pre-op bloods etc. I was told that they really really would rather that I didn't go into labour, so there is a very good chance this one is going to be a January baby. I shall stay on this thread and the post-natal one with determined loyalty. Hah.

QueenFee · 17/01/2012 00:09

Woowa, ds2 went through a phase like this just before he turned two. He was feeding through the night like a newborn but it stopped as suddenly as it started. Has she mastered a new skill? Mine all go clingy when they reach new milestones.

Whats your girls name?

We are still undecided on a boys name, have agreed on a couple then chose one but now i'm having 2nd thoughts.

On a more positive note had mw app today. All good lovely hb. Baby started to engage, which suprised me as none of the others did till I was in labour really. Had a lovely chat to mw who is pregnant with her 2nd and was amused that she was asking me questions!

Ships hope you have avoided the pox. Mine avoided it for years despite being amongst it loads till last summer and they all went down with it 1 after another, 2 weeks apart. My oldest 2 wete fine with it but ds2 was really ill :(

Still lol at cum facial :D in their dreams eh?

littlemonkeybix · 17/01/2012 11:40

today I shall mostly be...

Eating it seems!! cereal bar... yoghurt and muesli.... cereal bar... mini baby bel!! just started sushi box for lunch!!

STARVING!

woowa · 17/01/2012 13:37

Oh, sorry, no name sharing til after the birth :-) But there is one person on facebook, as far as I can tell, with the girl's name, and ZERO with the boy's name :-) DD's name is VERY unusual, there are a few on facebook in the states, but this new baby is going to be even more bonkers:-) All bible names, so they are actual names, but we like unusual!!

woowa · 17/01/2012 13:39

oops, didn't mean to press return. ANway, DD slept through the night on calpol but DH and I woke up at her usual time (4am) and couldn't get back to sleep, so I feel wrecked now. Early to bed again today, then scan 12 tomorrow! and again, i face the prospect of being induced this week. Exciting. Still praying for spontaneous labour, though time is running out on me I think. I did just have a bit of a funny tummy - with DD diarhoea was one of my first signs of labour, so you never know!

back later

38 weeks today!

deardear · 17/01/2012 14:33

I have excelled myself in domesticity this morning. Three loads of washing, 2 cakes baked and been shopping. Downside? Erm there were some choux buns - 2 packs of 2 for £2. They just jumped into my trolley. Damn! I have eaten one but I really do feel the need to eat another one. Kat my eldest DD keeps telling me that eating for two is does not have any factual benefits and is not needed. I beg to differ. It has cream in it and I need to up my dairy intake ready for becoming the milking cow in a few weeks. Chocolate on top can go towards one of my five a day as cocoa nuts are a fruit.

Saw the MW this morning. Not surprised to find out my wee sample the hospital took when they insisted I had a raging UTI at the end of December was actually clear (as per doctors get 30 mins earlier!) and I did not have a UTI.

Growth scan tomorrow. Be strange seeing a big baby in there as not had a scan this late before. Pretty sure he is head down now as getting fair bit of pressure in my bum and fanoire. Forgot to ask if he is starting to engage though this morning so must go check my notes.

Good luck tomorrow woowa again.

runaroundstartsnow · 17/01/2012 15:23

Hi all, not been on for a while..i had my baby on Saturday and even though she was over 2wks early she still weighed 8lb1oz!.We are home now, c-section went well and she is lovely, even though she she doesn't do sleeping Grin

littlemonkeybix · 17/01/2012 15:26

Congrats runaround!! :D Thanks

ZhenThereWereTwo · 17/01/2012 16:00

Ooh congratulations runaroundstartsnow, hope you are not too sore after CS. Lack of sleep seems worth it when you look and their squidgy little face :)

Any signs yet Xav?, hope it all happens for you soon.

Woowa 38 weeks wow! Great to get that far

There have been lots of threads with positive induction experiences recently on here so hope if they do induce either of you that it goes well.

deardear do not feel guilty, clearly the baby needs cream and chocolate and who are you to deny a foetus in need Grin Must be lovely to have a growth scan so late, I really enjoyed seeing DD2 at my 32 week scan, you can make out their features so clearly.

Has been chaos here today, they have started work in the kitchen and bathroom. Massive diamond drill a metre long boring through my kitchen wall at 8am this morning, shook the whole flat! Boiler getting ripped out tomorrow followed by ripping out and replacing kitchen and bathroom next week/week after! I was so organised, now I am surrounded by boxes yet again Confused. Lets hope they finish it in time for DD2's arrival.

littlemonkeybix · 17/01/2012 16:06
