All good here, 37+4 today and finishing work on Friday when I'll be 38+1. Feeling a little tired but generally good. I have today off as a personal day and have been for a leg wax, brazillian and am now enjoying a deluxe pedicure. It's lovely! Went for a check up on Thurs and baby's estimated weight is already 8lbs10 so he is welcome to come anytime- don't fancy him getting any fatter!

I have uploaded a picture of Harriet to my profile for anyone who wants to have a look - for some reason MN has rotated it and I can't work out how to rotate it back!

Flick, getting so excited for you! Can't believe you're still at work, especially hauling around an 8lb10 baby on your front!

We're doing well, getting used to our lives revolving around Harriet and not being able to get anything done! I'm much better physically, and a bit better every day, although still finding sitting down without my special cushion a bit uncomfortable...! I hope to do that birth story thing on the postnatal thread in the next day or two... I should make an effort to write it down before I forget it anyway. DH goes back to work on Mon which is scary as I'll have sole responsibility for H and it's the start of how things are going to be until I go back to work - eek!

Just popping on to say that Late, your picture of Harriet is absolutely gorgeous - such a sweetie!

Hope everyone else is ok - wow to the big baby, Flick, though they are notorious for getting it wrong so don't worry too much.

Hello, Frolickers! Wow, I've missed so much! A huge congratulations to zippys! I am so pleased for you, it's really good to see you on this thread.
And Late...how cute is Harriet?! Congratulations (love her name by the way). Also a big congrats to Florin...wherever you are!
All is good with me (19 weeks today). We have our 20 weeks scan next weds. I am ridiculously excited, partly because we are turning it into a shopping trip and staying in a hotel that night...yey! The following day we're heading down South for our friends wedding. Will be so good to see everyone back home as I've not seen any of them since we found out I was upduffed. Then we have about 10 days til we move house so it's going to be a hectic month!
I hope everyone else is doing well. Do you have a due date MCT? Mine got changed at the last scan to 29 Nov....we'll see what they say next weds!
It is sunny in Scotland today so going to get out in the garden while I can!

Hi Dessie! Hope time goes quickly until your scan. Our EDDs are quite close: mine's 21/11 (I will copy the updated list onto a new message after I finish typing this).

I've just got back from the 20-week scan and it was great! I was so nervous before we went in and DH was so chilled out, trying to reassure me everything would be fine. I'm so pleased it went well and we are having a boy! We're thrilled! He was moving quite a bit and we could see his big, strong heart close up, beating incessantly. The sonographer confirmed that I have an anterior placenta, hence why I haven't really felt any movements yet so that was good to know.

The sun is out here too so I'd better catch a few rays while I can and top up my vitamin D reserves!

Hi ladies,

Just a quickie, I'm in hospital mid induction! Came in yesterday for a routine blood pressure consultants appointment and they found my BP to be high and protein in my urine so diagnosed pre eclampsia and kept me in for induction. Had a pessary inserted last night at 11pm and been contracting since 4.30 this morning-waiting to be examined at 11 tonight to see if the pessary has worked and if they can break my waters-send speedy vibes my way!

Sorry for radio silence- has been a whirlwind!

So, after being induced on Wednesday due to my high blood pressure, I finally had little Leonard by EMCS at 10.31pm on Friday 6th July. Lenny weighed in at 8lbs6oz which shows growth scans are rubbish as he was predicted to be 10lbs5oz! I am recovering really well from my EMCS- was up and out of bed 12hours later and in fact came home on Saturday,18 hours after having him! So far so good but still taking it very easy. Will write my birth story today...

Congratulations Flick, so glad to hear you & Leonard got through it all ok - at how wrong the predicted weight was!
Hope you're looking after yourself & letting everyone make a fuss of you - the problem with being allowed home from hospital so quickly is that you feel you ought to spring back to normal and be able to do everything, when actually being pregnant and then giving birth is a major trauma for the body & it needs time to get itself back to fighting fitness. There's a Spanish girl in my NCT group and they have a 40-day period where the mother is mollycoddled and pampered and not allowed to do anything so that she fully recovers. I have to say that, even nearly 4-weeks on, I'm still not 100% and still get tired easily. So have lots of rest, let MrFlick other people look after you and the baby, and enjoy the first weeks with Leonard
