PearlyFish · 11/06/2012 12:43

Thinking of you Late, hope you enjoyed the wedding and don't have much longer to wait!

Beeble that mural wall looks amazing! Hope you got a chance to relax afterwards and feel less achey now.

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 12/06/2012 08:45

Still waiting....Sad I do so want to meet my little baby Smile (mind you, with the weather as it is, why would it want to come out?!) one of my NCT group has already had hers Envy and he's so tiny and soft and lovely! Hey ho, I'll be going for a brisk walk if there's a break in the rain!

pixiestix · 12/06/2012 10:25

Aww, poor you! I know its no consolation right now but he or she is definitely coming! Grin There is no way that you will still be pregnant in two weeks time and that nothing in the grand scheme of things! Doesn't make any difference when you are sitting waiting though. Its terrible isn't it? The 2WW is nothing in comparison!

pixiestix · 12/06/2012 10:30

And where the hell is our Florin? She is only two weeks behind you and I saw her on a thread yesterday so I know she is around. She should be sympathizing with you Late - its not the same hearing it from people who are looking at it with rose-tinted specs on!

highheelsandequations · 12/06/2012 18:11

Poor you late, I know it's easy for me to say but just try to enjoy being pregnant as it'll soon be over and do lots of fun things and sleep and rest lots whilst you still can!!!! :o

bunnygirl80 · 12/06/2012 21:50

late have you tried forcing your DH to do his part in inducing labour Wink Just remember you won't stay pg forever, you are really only a week or so maximum from meeting your LO

Flickstar · 13/06/2012 12:20

Hello Lovelies,

late hope you are keeping well and that your wee one decided to make an appearance soon. So glad you got moved in and sorted and settled before he/she arrived. Can't wait to hear if it's a boy or girl! I vote boy.

Lovely mural beeble!

Congratulations on your little girl pearly! It is so exciting and I agree that I felt much more excited once I knew we were having a boy.

Glad 16 week appt went well MCT Did you manage to get hold of your mum?! Let us know how it went.

Lovely to hear your scan went well dessie and that your EDD was moved forwards- what a bonus!

All well here, am 36 weeks now so baby just needs to hang in there one more week and then he will be fully cooked. Am not finishing work until I;'m 38+1 so I hope he is on time and not early as I would actually like a little bit of a rest!

Hope all well- waves to everyone xx

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 13/06/2012 13:15

Thanks for your messages everyone, still nothing to report - not so much as a twinge - although it is getting more uncomfortable 'down there' so hopefully that's a sign of baby getting itself ready...

I did pounce on DH the other night and he gamely rose to the challenge (GrinGrinGrin) but it wasn't great for either of us so I don't think it'll be happening again - there's the whole 'patting the baby's head' issue to get over! Grin

Due for a sweep on Friday at my next midwife appointment so that may kick things off... otherwise I can see this running on to next week Sad baby is still pretty active though, so that's a good thing - I've heard you really miss feeling the movements once the baby's out

PearlyFish · 13/06/2012 22:08

Ah Late hoping you are finding ways to pass the time. Sounds like the ladies above have given you some very good advice - as much sleep as poss sounds like a good idea to me! Lol @ 'patting the baby's head'! I don't often watch it but there was a bloke on OBEM getting a bit mortified over that the other day.

Flick - yay for only having 2 weeks at work left. Hope it goes quickly for you!

Things are good with me. I'll be 22 weeks on Friday, feeling movement more frequently and more strongly. A couple of times in the last few days I have felt the baby move from the outside too, and Mr Pearly managed to do the same for the first time at the weekend, which was lovely. I've been a bit slow feeling it, I think because I have an anterior placenta. It helps that I can use the doppler to confirm which sensations are the baby, because it makes funny noises whenever she moves.

Hope everyone is well!

pixiestix · 15/06/2012 10:28

Hope the sweep goes well today Late. How uncomfortable it is should give you a pretty good idea of how ready LO is to make an entrance - so wishing you a painless, easy time of it! Smile

Beeblebear · 15/06/2012 13:53

Late, hope everything goes well today! Us first timers typicallyy go late from what I hear. That.s why when anyone has beed asking my due date my reasponse has been "late october" the date is the 20th, but I.m expecting closer to halloween

Pearly, how have you been feeling? I have started getting a bit uncomfortable. Not sure if it.s just that I.m a lot bit connstipated, or if baby ia just getting big, steatching and poking things. Lots ok kicks now sometimes to the bladder, punches maybe? The nesting comes and goes. Trying to avoid the shops.

Wel I better go geet ready for work.. Ciao

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 15/06/2012 17:39

Hello Ladies! Well, I had my sweep this afternoon - gas & air made it better than it would have been without, but it still wasn't a pleasant experience! Unfortunately my cervix is staying resolutely closed which was disappointing, even though the baby's head is lying quite low... Anyhoo, the upshot of it is another sweep on Monday (great, I'll look forward to THAT!), a meeting with my consultant and and induction on Tuesday. So there goes my water-birth Sad unless baby starts taking the hints (sweep, raspberry leaf, curry, a bit of how's-your-father Wink) and gets a wriggle on!

Flick, I'm so impressed with you working up to 38 weeks, you'll have really earned yourself a couple of weeks with your feet up!

Pearly, the first time your OH can feel those kicks is amazing, I think it makes such a difference to how they feel about it - the baby becomes something even more real to them. My DH has the 'hand of calm', the baby settles down when he has his hand on it, it's a bit odd but hope it has the same effect once the baby is out!

Beeble, good idea to be ambiguous about the exact due date - I tried saying 'early June', but now we are in mid-June everyone keeps asking me anyway!

CaveMum · 15/06/2012 18:21

Good luck Late, don't forget to try a long walk and some pineapple Grin

Flickstar · 15/06/2012 19:26

Fingers crossed the sweep has done the trick late and that things kick off over the weekend for you xxx

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 16/06/2012 14:53

Well, seems the sweep has done something - been having period-cramp-like pains since 3am. Not regular in length or frequency, but considering this is the first inkling of anything happening at all I'm quite impressed with it! Grin
Have also had a bit of show - wonder how long it's all going to take...!

CaveMum · 16/06/2012 15:00

Oooo! Sneeze-like birth wishes for you late!

Beeblebear · 16/06/2012 18:45

Like like like!

pixiestix · 16/06/2012 19:41

Ooooooooooh Late!! Grin We need an update!!!! Being in the middle of labour is no excuse, we need news!!! Grin
Good luck my dear. You'll be holding your little one in you arms so soon - eeeeeeek! Smile

highheelsandequations · 16/06/2012 21:41

Ooooooh, exciting, go baby late!! :o

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 16/06/2012 22:55

It's all kind of tailed off, a cramp coming every hour or so now. Not too worried yet, will pounce on DH in the morning and see if we can get things going again Grin. Midwife seems happy with where things have got to so happy to be led by her.

Thanks for your good wishes everyone!

Rachel130690 · 16/06/2012 23:15

Is this thread for first time pg? I couldn't really tell.. Bit late and head not working right lol

Xx

MCT76 · 17/06/2012 18:17

LankyLegs · 17/06/2012 19:38

Hope you are all curled up with your snuffly newborn Late. Can't wait to hear all the gory details and to find out which flavour you got! Smile

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 19/06/2012 09:36

GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin
Delighted to announce the arrival of our little girl yesterday morning (03.50!), named Harriet, weighing in at 3.2kg.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin
She's a little poppet with the most lovely face and has DH wrapped around her finger already!
The birth was not nice - I will spare you the gory details, preggers ladies don't need to hear them - but we've all made it through to the other side, safe and sound, labour and all that seems a long way away - nature is marvellous Wink
We're still in hospital, hope to go home today, care at QCH has been fantastic. Will post a piccy when we get home.
Other pluses: carpel tunnel - GONE; heartburn - GONE; huge heavy lump at the front - GONE! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin
