Morning all,
Well afternoon all even, guess I'm luckier than most of you by the sounds of it, could sleep and sleep til bedtime again if I didn't have to get up to inject and take so many pills.
Am so excited for Mak & Maman, can't wait to see some birth announcements! Counting the minutes til 7pm Tuesday when I get induced. Really hoping it happens quickly, can't bear the thought of it taking days and days.
We've got no exciting plans for this weekend. I'm too sore with the SPD to do anything. I thought it had improved last week as I was walking about with no need for the crutches for several days, but I think it was just tricking me, and all that walking about has brought it back even worse than before.
DH is back at work on monday after his xmas leave (great timing!) and my mum & step-dad are flying down from Glasgow MOnday night so I guess the bulk of this weekend will be spent getting the house tidy before they arrive (unfortunately I'll just have to sit and direct DH while he does it! I thought I'd really enjoy doing that but I find I get so wound up coz he isn't doing things the way I would have).
A thought occurred to me last night....Dya think it means you must be one of those really difficult patients when the specialist registrar on the delivery suite knows you by name? I didn't think anything of it at the time, but when I was there for my CTG yesterday I made my way from the day assessment unit to the loos in the CDS and when the doc walked past she said "hi Lisa, how you doing?". It wasn't til last night when I was reading some stats about Frimley and saw they deliver on average 77 babies a week that it made me wonder. I'm now having paranoid thoughts about them all sitting having a coffee discussing us problem patients (I know we used to have a moan about difficult clients at work all the time). Then again maybe its just my size that makes me stick in their mind. I'm sure I must be one of the biggest mums-to-be they've ever seen

lyra41 · 07/01/2006 14:14

well Tickle a show, you lucky thing. will be thinking of you, hope it goes well, will say a prayer or 2. can't wait to hear your good news.

just got back from ante natal yoga, where i was the most pg woman there. the teacher always makes a fuss when you get towards 40wks and beyond and says, i've got my phone switched on!! as if the baby's just going to suddenly pop out (I wish!). had the most delicious hazlenut flapjack generously covered in warm chocolate and a blueberry, honey, oats, yoghurt and cranberry smoothie afterwards. YUMMO! Don't think i'll be needing any lunch now.

i'm gonna pop over to see my mum in a bit, just for something to do. we'll have a cuppa and a yak and it'll pass a few more hours until baby boy decides to get moving.

Tickle · 07/01/2006 14:34

Well, not much happening here! Just wandering about the house, with pants weather too - would love to go out for a walk but it's about -15 with the windchill - brrrr

Lisa - speaking as a vet's wife (I know it's not quite the same!!) we wouldn't greet the 'problem' owners that cheerfully - just the ones we liked who were in a lot Sounds like you have been unlucky enough to be in so much they can all get to know you Roll on Tuesday hey!

Better get back to waiting for something to happen {{fingers drumming emoticon}}
xx

Tickle · 07/01/2006 14:36

Thanks Lyra Will try to post if anything happens!

sweetkitty · 07/01/2006 15:09

Lisa - I'm a little of you being induced on Tuesday was just saying to DP it would be nice to know the day and get DD1 all sorted. I'm sure they don't think your a problem patient probably an interesting one as they must see so many routine births that anything out the ordinary must be a welcome change.

Tickle - still sending you some contraction vibes, maybe you'll be Trickle soon (sorry couldn't help it)!

Lyra - yoga sounds fab as does your flapjack I had to make do with some of DD's choccie buttons/

Loads of shooting pains here this baby really does tease me. Having curry tonight though!

Afternoon all

How exciting to come on & see some action i only wish i was having some over here Well nothing going on here at all apart from baby being very very quiet & still, maybe the calm before the storm as they say

Mak - Goodluck sounds like things are well on the way for you, will be waiting for the announcement

Tickle - You are sounding very promising too my labour with my ds started with period type pains then a show about 5 ins later, you must keep us updated with any action & goodluck

Iris - sorry to hear about your DD it defo sounds like nerves i am sure she will fine & hope she has a great trip away.

Lisa - They sound really nice at your hospital i only wish my own midwife could even remember my name lol i bet you cant wait for your baby to arrive on tuesday/wed i you!

Sweetkitty - I had my money on you having action first but your still here, you sound fed up? i suppose its the pain & the SPD its sounds really bad i hope your baby comes soon.

Rach - You said you would still be here & late you obvioulsy knkow your body & babys well now all you need to do is predict a date & maybe it will happen on that date?

Georgie - Welcome back things seem to be happening since you have come back can you send me some vibes this way pleasse??

Anyway ds has been to his party & is now flat out asleep on the sofa, dp is working on call today, i have just done all house work form top to bottom & changed all the beds, put washing on etc, glad thats done!

Now i am just going to make a cuppa have a chat on here & surf ebay i think, i need a double pushchair but want a tandem one, it is literally for when ds is of nursery & if we go to town as ds is a bit of a runaway child so has to still be straped in when we are i town. I was looking at the kidz kargo one as its cheap & looks spacious for ds to sit at the front? Anyone know anything about them?

Catch up with you all again in a bit xx

GeorginaP · 07/01/2006 18:12

Hi there

Anyone else having horrible BH?

Am hurting like you wouldn't believe. Been going on and off since about 1pm. Made going round Sainsburys v interesting. Don't think they are contractions although they seem to start at my back work their way round to front and then tummy goes tight and they certainly hurt like a bugger.

Am getting mighty fed up with being so uncomfortable. Just wish something would happen one way or t'other. Can't stand another week of this (potentially 3 weeks if I go over due).

Am not a wimp. Can take the pain {just!). Wish my body would make up its mind. In or out. It's not a hard decision . Just make your damn mind up!

Sorry to be such a wet blanket.

Moan over.

G xx

iris66 · 07/01/2006 19:08

Georgie - you moan away hon! I am of your BH (never thought I'd say that!!) Mine have stopped completely!! I was half hoping I'd go into labour as soon as we'd dropped DD off but nothing. Nada. Zilch Had a v energy filled morning so thought something might happen but then had a 2 hour kip and am back to just being lethargic and whale like. But then I am due lots later than the rest of you so shouldn't really be moaning at all yet

Lisa - I feel exactly the way you do about the MWs at the Day Assessment Unit where I've been having to go to for my GD (wish they were community MWs then I would defo push for a home birth or "accidentally" leave it too late to go to hosp!!) They all seem to know my name too & are so lovely but I think they make a point of remembering names to make you feel more comfortable - especially if you're having to go there a lot.

Lyra - I'm amazed you haven't given birth already with all your AN activities (you are so good & i bet your stamina is great now!) Love the sound of the flapjack mmmmmm - have just had to leave DH on his own a bit as he's munching his way through a pack of choc covered dates. I could murder a sugar hit at the mo!

New Series of Sea of Souls starts tonight on BBC1! - anyone else planning on watching it? (The last series was really good)

iris66 · 07/01/2006 19:14

Georgie - I posted the reflex points this morning - you tried them yet?

hunkermunker · 07/01/2006 19:19

No sign here. Almost liking the smell of clary sage now though

BBWBabeLisa · 07/01/2006 22:19

Evenin all
I've posted a piccie of me taken tonight (37 + 1) on the yahoo groups \link {http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/mumsnetpix\here}

Please ignore the seriously frizzy hair day I'm having, the dark circles under my eyes and the bingo wings!

BBWBabeLisa · 07/01/2006 22:20

Doh well my link didn't work! Lets try that again shall we?

here

If this doesn't work I give up!

Tickle · 07/01/2006 22:43

Still here! Phoned the mw on duty tonight to tell her about the show... she said, well it could be 1 or 2 days, and then calmly rescheduled my Tuesday weekly appointment because they are busy! boo hoo

Lovely pic Lis - you look so sparkly considering the pain you must have standing with the SPD! Good luck on Tues...
hope I'm not here posting in the morning
xx

lyra41 · 08/01/2006 09:05

hello

still here, still pg! i was convinced something would start last nite with the natural prostoglandin treatment followed by a moon cup to keep everything in place. no such luck!

Tickle
1-2 days doesn't sound too long to wait, at least you know your body is preparing itself. get your rest now to conserve energy for labour. and eat some energy rich foods, as if you were going to run a marathon, like pasta and...i can't think of anything else, but there are specific foods that are specially good aren't there?

going for my first cuppa of the day, more later.

iris66 · 08/01/2006 09:13

what frizzy hair etc Lisa?! You look great! - You must be so excited now to have an actual date - 2 days to go !!!

Tickle - hope everything kicks off properly for you soon (have become obsessed with show hunting already

Mum2O - did you find a double pushchair in the end?

BHs have started up again but strangely pain free. Starting now to concentrate on the date the hypnotherapist "implanted" as my due date (wed) now as it doesn't look like anything is going to happen before then. DH has taken to saying "still pregnant then?" at every opportunity which is driving me nuts! Suggested going to see Narnia this afternoon & he said it would be a waste of money 'cos we'd probably have to leave 1/2 way through as I'd go into labour - suspect he doesn't want to go so I may go on my own anyway

iris66 · 08/01/2006 09:17

Morning Lyra - have come to the conclusion that these DS's are just too comfy where they are . How did you get on finding an acupuncturist?

sweetkitty · 08/01/2006 09:19

Morning all nothing happening here either, Lyra you have just made me pmsl (not literally) with the mooncup story. DP and I tried the natural prostaglandin method too last night (it's not easy is it?) and at 3am I got up and felt the erm how can I say this proceeds run down my leg of course got a bit excited but alas nothing. The things you tell people on the internet eh?

Was awake on and off from 3am till DD got me up at 6.30am this morning so am knackered today. Think she is stretching me to the limits, my ribs are in agony one way and my pelvis the other. Am having period like pains almost constantly, am a bit down with it all. Think part of the reason is that I was so lucky with DD, only complication I had was mild SPD no twinges nothing, waters went no warning, baby born. Sorry for the whinge. Clary sage and sex tonight I think.

Tickle - hope things start for you soon.

No news from Maman2006 or Mak so I think they must be cuddling their new babies by now and

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 08/01/2006 09:22

Oh I have decided against the Phil and Teds now, think it would be great until DD2 was able to sit up then she would be touching the wheels etc, am going to order a M&P Twin Aria now and buy loads more baby things with the money saved!

OP posts:
Tickle · 08/01/2006 09:47

like you lyra, still here, still pg! My SIL phoned this morning (they live across the road) to see if we had disappeared in the night, and said she had checked the internet & a show could be up to a week before labour!! Hurrrumph. I don't think I would have told me that if I were her (IYSWIM)...

At least it's sunny here today - first in a long while.
Later!
T xx

Mumfun · 08/01/2006 09:58

Very exciting. Wishing you all all the best. Im a bit later in date but thinking now I might go by Thursday next week maybe. Reflexologist came Friday but although I reacted, probably not enough. Shes coming again Tuesday and have big hopes. Also sorted my sinus problems out big time so Im quite comfy now and baby too judging by non appearance.

Will be looking on announcemnts twice a day!

Mum2OneAndBump · 08/01/2006 11:10

Morning all,

Nothing happening here not even BH anymore everything seems to have gone totally quiet including baby.

Dp keeps saying please just get the baby out, he needs the time off work cause he is shattered, hes been working hard!

I am also obsessed with checking for things when i go to the loo,

SK - How did you manage the sex? Blimey i could not think of anything worse but i will be trying if i go overdue, infact i will be doing everything and anything once i am a day overdue

I am going to have a quiet day today, need to get some bits from the shops but thats about it, my life seems to be ruled by waiting for this baby, i am a bit scared of leaving the house in case my waters break in public ( i would die) lol

Ds is back to nursery on Monday he is now going 5 mornings 9-12 he used to do 3 mornings before christmas, so looking forward to the break it is much needed at this time, ds loves his nursery & he seems to learn so so much he also has a best friend there who he has not stopped talking about since they broke up before xmas, bless him !

Dp still in bed (lucky sod) i am feeling ok no doubt need asleep this afternoon.

I am going to try & buy the double pushchair of ebay as it really will not get used that much & they are 200 brand new and about 100 on ebay, i will have to wait though as not the one i want on there yet so will keep checking
SK- i did not like the p&t double pushchair i saw it for the first time about 4 weeks ago the price is rather hefty too

Have a good day all, relax & put your feet up!

Rachey, Hunker & horseshoe have been quiet?? oh & eshay? any of you had your bubbas yet?

Rach69 · 08/01/2006 11:20

Week 40 + day 4 in the Big Brother house and baby boy quite comfy...

Yep, fat n fed up!

Looking for those birth announcements - Mak and Maman! SK - I reckon you will still beat me! Thank god my edd was Jan 4th or I'd be falling into Feb!

Go Tickle! It won't be long now (couple of days for Chuffed?) could be anytime - at least your cervix is moving!

Still here - no show, no waters gone, no contractions but plenty of painful BH (can only be a good thing Georgie). My belly button is so sore and itchy with all the stretching.

Lyra - I could not summon the enthusiasm for the 'natural method' last night - dp under instruction to persuade me tonight! Had a curry for lunch yesterday, walked up to the pub and back (feeling like a freak!). Dp took me on long, fast and bumpy car ride round the Gower all to no avail.

Mum21 - yeah a date, I reckon induction on the Jan 16th!

BY the way - anyone expecting/had a girlie - I have bought some size 1 (8-18lb) tots bots from Jessicaandrebeccasmummy on the 'for sale' board - but obviously passed on the pink ones - she has two (one used once, one unused) left for £5 each (worth £8) if you are interested.

Rach69 · 08/01/2006 11:31

Oh and I have my 41 week appointment at the hospital tomorrow - apparently it is now policy to examine you - and if favourable to do a sweep, not very keen but better than induction (think will ask for mw to do it - they have smaller fingers! ). If it's not favourable (quite likely) - think I will be really down! Have asked dp to come with me for moral support.

GeorginaP · 08/01/2006 11:39

Morning

Seems as if everyone is in the same frame of mind as me .

Last vesitges of sense of humour left me at 3am this morning when I was projectile vomiting. Own fault though as I shouldn't have eaten crispy shredded chili beef!!! Couldn't get back to sleep. Ended up on the sofa in weirtd propped up position and am now aching like a bugger.

And all my damn clothes smell of sodding clary sage. GGGGRRRRRRR.

Feel like I need a damn good grizzle and some TLC.

DH being a star and looking after me.

Iris - ta for the info. Will get DH to rub feet tonight.

SweetKit - PMSL at your post. . Too funny for words.

At risk of offending people.... what's best position to do 'it' in? Think I would need block and tackle to get on top

Tickle - hang in there girl. Something will happen.

Still getting BH on and off. Not as painful as yesterday, but def tightening in tummy region. Doesn't last for long. Had mad thought last night that OBGYN had superglued cervix shut when he put stitch in. Am REALLY losing the plot aren't I??!?!?

Am going to try and get onto yahoo again so I can see pics.

Sending baby thoughts to everyone..... maybe we should just all chant, 'out out out out'?

G xx

GeorginaP · 08/01/2006 11:45

Hey Rachey. Was wondering if anything happened. Obviously not.

What's the policy over here if you go overdue? Do they sweep at 41 weeks? Or leave you to go to 42 and then do something? Or is it diff for each hospital/region.

Have got quacks appt tomorrow so should really ask him, but he seems a little useless to say the least .

Am seriously considering a small bounce on DD's trampoline!!!

Hope something happens soon Rachey. Bet when you do go it'll be all over in a couple of hours.

G xx
