Where is everyone today? I'm feeling lonely!

Iris??? Mumtooneandbump?

Still waiting for Rach, Tickle and Lisa? Suppose they are too busy with their beautiful newborns

Oh Sweetkitty I'm so sorry things didn't happen last night good excuse to do something really nice for yourself today?

I think mine & DH's fall out stopped anything further happening for me. He sulked all day yesterday & started taking his bad mood out on DD so we had a huge row (sooo good for my BP!) Didn't get to sleep 'til after 3 in the end (with him in the spare room) so not doing anything today (puffy eyes are not really a look I fancy parading around) Sorry to be such a miserable whinger. Feel pants but I'm sure I'll perk up later.

Hope you all have nice days

iris66 · 13/01/2006 11:02

PS - Lyra texted me to say she'll be staying off line (and in bed) for a few days babymoon. Think she saw all out congratulations posts though. Hopefully we'll have more news on everyone else when she comes back

sweetkitty · 13/01/2006 11:49

Hi Iris

Sorry about you and DH's falling out, men eh? Let them walk about for a day with all this weight at the front, the aches and pains etc see how they would feel. Anyway hope you patch things up for the weekend. Please feel free to whinge on here, I feel like thats all I do right now.

I'm not up to anything much today either, must have got my nesting instince back as have cleaned the entire downstairs this morning. Been on hands and knees cleaning kitchen floor and units, thought that might kick something off. Thought I had a show this morning but reckon it was just a big blob of discharge (was orangey maybe pinky but think I was imagining it - sorry if TMI). Going to spend rest of the day playing with Abbie try and make the most of the last few days just the two of us.

Thats good news about Lyra

We are pleased to announce the timely arrival of the 04:52 Baby Battle express from Salisbury (as yet unnamed)!!!

She (for it is a girl) is a perfectly healthy 8 pounds 10 ounces, and I am knackered... although I did only have a five hour labour, so nothing to complain about really! Everything went to plan, and I delivered in the pool totally naturally (didn't even have to crack open the entinox). We still haven't quite got our heads round it yet - but are enjoying some chill-out time with her as she seems to have crashed out after all the excitement...

Will post again soon with all the details, and looking forward to seeing some more announcements over the weekend - esp. Sweetkitty and Hunkermunker, really really hope your little ones make an appearance soon.

Big mumsy love, Loomer xxx

sweetkitty · 13/01/2006 12:35

Aww Loomer well done you and no pain relief either.

congratulations on your beautiful girl, rest up and enjoy being a mum but come back and tell us her name xxx

congrats Loomer - hey, i dont live far from you. so pleased to hear about anyone having such a lovely birth experience (my own 2 so far were so lovely too)

dont worry SK and HM - youve done so well to get this far, it cant be long now. im sending happy contracting vibes from here too.

iris - for prolonged argument fallout. guess the stress is getting to you all. hope things improve soon, coz you could do with some TLC, im sure.

have decided i have no right at all to be impatient so have chilled a little on that front. at least i get more organising time !

and my growing hatred of the temp nanny is happily taking my mind off things too .i know i am v lucky to be able to have help like this, but really, she is such a nightmare... i need her out of my house! am researching a replacment. its only for a few more weeks anyway.

enough about me, hope you are all holding up ok, todays posts dont sound as hopeful/excited as yesterdays, so im sending out concerted HAPPY vibes to you all to cheer you up.

remember, this time next month we'll ALL be so sleep deprived, we wont even remember today!

GeorginaP · 13/01/2006 13:29

Yikes, I've been away from the thread for too long and I'm lost as to what's going on with everyone.

Maman - congrats on your new arrival. Wonderful name.
Lyra - congrats on your new arrival. Am bowing to you for being able to get out a 10lb 2oz baby.
Loomer- congrats on your new arrival. And you didn't even need gas and air? What a chilled out birth.

I really hope I haen't missed anyone off the list. Apologies if I have. Have got mush for brains at the moment.

Any news from Rach, Lisa or Tickle?

SweetKit - you ok? You sound v down.

Iris - everything ok with you? Just caught something near the top of the thread about falling out with DH?

Everything seems to be going well with DD2. I don't want to jinx anything but she's a super chilled baby. But as I know from bitter experience, it could all change tomorrow

I now look like a fatter version of Jordan. My milk has come in my boobies are sore as you like.

Right, have to vacate PC some DH can do some work stuff.

Loads of love to everyone, will try and catch up with thread tonight. In the meantime, hope everyone hanging in there isn't hanging in there for too much longer.... if you get my drift

G xx

Mum2OneAndBump · 13/01/2006 13:48

Hello Everyone

Firstly "BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO LOOMER" hope your enjoying your new arrival, & i take my hat of to you, a natural birth with no pain relief?? totally unheard of in my house hold lol

Sweetkitty please tell me what the hell your doing here? your pushing your luck now sure your baby seems very very comfortable & warm in your belly, maybe you should go & sit in the garden in your bra & knickers to give her a chill??

Well my baby seems well & truely happy is well, did wake in the middle of the night with some braxton hicks they were quite painful but not take your breath away stuff!

I have been having a disaster, i decided i needed my hair streaking, i usually go to the hairdressers but decided to do it with a home kit, anyway to cut a long story short it went totally "wrong" i ended up with bright orange streaks my hair was a mess & i was crying, dp said he did warn me & did tell me to go to the hairdressers but i would not listen! So this morning droped Ds of at nursery & decided to pop to hairdressers to beg them to sort it for me, its all sorted now i actually have the blonde streaks i wanted all along but my bank balance is now 60 pound worse off or actually should i say dp's is

Anyway having a quiet afternoon & really hoping baby will come this weekend, i feel better now my hair is sorted & also will relax more cause dp will be at home at the weekend, i am going to get a pineapple at some point & start eating the whole thing, probably tomorrow evening.

Anyway i hope everyone is ok especially Rachey & lisa as we have heard nothing from them?

Will be looking in on & off to see if anything is happening xx

iris66 · 13/01/2006 15:04

LOOMER - Congratulations - blimey that was quick! - and no pain relief!! I was starting to worry about the hypnotherapy but it clearly works in labour! yay - there's hope for me yet!!!!
A darling daughter - awwwww (remembering own DD's arrival with small a sniffle) hope she brings you as much love & happiness as mine has (hug)

Sweetkitty - are you ok honey? Everything sounds really promising for you today (scrubbing floors is not your norm is it?!! and that sounded very much like a show to me )
Make sure you rest too though eh and do carry on whinging (you know it makes sense!!)

Gerogie ! - welcome back! good to see(?!) you So pleased that Libby is such a darling for you - the feeding's obviously going well. I'm sure you look absolutely gorgeous and glowing(IMHO the real Jordan could use a couple of extra stone anyway )

Mum2One - PMSL over your hair (in a nervous "OMG that's the sort of thing that would happen to me" kinda way ) So pleased you got it sorted out ok.

Sorry was such a misery guts before and thanks for all your kind words - I'm feeling much better now (must go & get dressed though ).

sweetkitty · 13/01/2006 15:52

Afternoon everyone MW just been for a quick visit, she told me the baby will come when she's ready!!! If I had a £1 for everytime someone told me that I would have about £14 by now she thinks she is lower down now as well. I know it's only my due date tomorrow but the news of all these little newborns is making me so broody for my little one. Oh and I'm the worlds most impatient person ever.

M2OAB - I don't know what I'm still doing here had a thought I'm not actually pregnant but have made it all up and it's actually a combination of wind and chocolate! Loved your hairdresser story too.

Georgie - Good to hear Libby is being a star. Abbie was a star from the start and is as good as gold still (well she's currently making cushion mountains and wiping her snot on the sofa)! I think this one is going to be more trouble already. It's great when you have Jordan boobs it distracts from the wobbly 5 months pregnant jelly belly you get just after having a baby.

Iris - good to see you have perked up, now make DH feel mega guilty for being so horrid to heavily pregnant woman that he spends the whole weekend pampering you.

Clary sage bath and maybe some sex for me tonight if I cna face it.

Hi

Fab news

Maman - congratulations on your new arrival. Will he get shortened to Teo or not.
Lyra - congratulations on your new arrival. My size of baby territory so well done - theye hard when theyre big.
Loomer- you sound amazing. What a chilled out birth - wow!

Anyway getting a bit impatient here - really thought reflexology would work this week and didnt. WIll be up to all the tricks this weekend - what joy. But at least having lovely time with DS - being a star at present. Has told us though that wantsto sleep in babys cot in our room and climbs in there at every opportunity but hay ho -well deal with that along with all the rest.

Take care all

Mum2OneAndBump · 13/01/2006 16:30

Hello again just checking in,

Iris - Glad you feel a bit perkier now, i know how your feeling i had a row with dp beginning of the week & it does really get you down as its just so important i think to have support 24/7 now cause this stage is so long & boring, all you want is your baby,& everything is hard work & an efforst.

Sweetkitty - Things sound good for you, looks like your going to make your due date unless you have a real quick labour which is poss going by your first labour.

Ds has been asleep for about 2 1/2 hrs this afternoon so i am really going to pay for that tonight, at least its the weekend though & he wont have nursery tomorrow.

Having few stomach cramps whilst sitting here typing this but thats always as far as they go, god i wish it would happen, i am very impatient too, can you tell??

Anyways will be back later am gonna watch the BB eviction cause this is what my sad life has resorted to whilst waiting for my baby
xx

iris66 · 13/01/2006 16:53

It's a full moon tomorrow morning Maternity units are notoriously busy around a full moon so somebody on our thread has got to have a baby tonight (please?!) It's not going to be me though haven't even had any BHs for ages (just baby aerobics ouch!)

Sweetkitty - I sympathise with the "when she's ready comments" - my mum is still ringing every day to see if I'm in labour (complete with fresh stories of high BP, induction & horror )

Mum2One - DH is classic male. He is to emotional support as blotting paper is to water repellance!! Atmosphere is better though (thankfully!!) and he's cooking dinner tonight so at laeast he's trying.
I keep forgetting BB is on!!! - must insist we watch it tonight

Serene full moonlike birthing vibes to all this evening. Will pop in later.

Eshay · 13/01/2006 17:24

A huge congratulations to Maman! Well done! Too bad it didn't go quite as you had hoped but he's here now and soon you'll forget about that. I had some issues feeding Thomas at first and the main thing was to just keep trying and trying. The more sucking, the more milk will come. It can be quite hard and there are loads of threads on mumsnet to do with feeding and any other specific problems you may encounter. The main things is, get sleep while you can because everything goes a lot better when you're not completely exhausted.

And another congrats to Lyra and baby Alexander! What a whopping great one! I thought Thomas was big at birth (9lbs6) but this is amazing! Well done and I can't wait to see some pictures.

Notacow - good luck with your nanny. It must be hard to be annoyed by her but not really being able to send her on her way as you do need the help. Maybe you can encourage more trips to the park for her and the kiddies so you have to see less of her

I am typing this as I work my way up through the posts and it makes it all the more exciting. Now Loomer has had her baby girl too! Wow! Congratulations and full marks for the way it happened!

Ah... I've reached the top of today's posts and that's the end of the births... Then again, someone may be in labour as we speak!

This morning I had an appointment with the consultant and I have to say it was a bit disappointing. Firstly, we had to wait for almost an hour before we were seen and then she didn't really do much more than take my BP and listen to the heartbeat. Even less exciting than aMW check up. Anyway, we just confirmed I'm booked in for a C-section at 41 weeks and that was about it. I was hoping for some sort of scan... Higly disappointing but I suppose really it's just good news that there's no need for any sort of concern.

MIL was here all day today and we had a good time. She watched Thomas while we were at H and later she and I took Thomas to TumbleTots. She thought it was great to see him doing some of his regular things. In a way I was hoping to go into labour today since she was here already but that would have been a bit too convenient I suppose.

Good luck to everyone for the rest of the day and night.

GeorginaP · 13/01/2006 18:41

Hi lovely ladies

Just popping on quickly between feeding DD2 and reading story to DD1 to wish everyone loads of luck for tonight.....

Full moon x contractions = babies!

Missing being part of the gang, so piggin' hurry up and get these babies out so we can all get onto that post-natal thread

G xxxxxxxxxxxx

hunkermunker · 13/01/2006 19:16

Loomer, congratulations! Sounds like you had a fantastic birth - your DD was the exact same weight as my DS (he's a bit bigger now )!

SK, really hope that you're in labour as I type. Either that or a labour-inducing clary sage bath. Am going to have one later myself, then possibly some of nature's prostaglandin Not that clary sage does anything, but hey!

Would be good if we both had our babies on their due date!

Thanks for all the good wishes on this thread - just can't wait to be posting about my new baby!

Eshay · 13/01/2006 21:38

I just wanted to wish SweetKitty and Hunkermunker good luck for tonight. Maybe you've got punctual children and they will make an appearance as soon as the calendar says 14 Jan!

hunkermunker · 13/01/2006 21:39

Aw, thanks, Eshay - cor, wouldn't that be nice!

DS was 10 days late though, so not sure that my children "do" punctual! Fingers crossed though - childcare for DS is much easier tomorrow than during the week!

sweetkitty · 13/01/2006 22:13

hi all still nothing happening decided to bounce on my ball for a whole hour all that happened is my pelvis is sore now MW rang me after our meeting to say she wasn't happy with the morphine I had been given and the doc had written me a new prescription and could I go and get it just in case. It's freezing cold here and 5pm on a Friday is not a good time to be trying to get around town. Anyway I got it OK and picked DP up from train station then had huge row with him over my driving cos I wouldn't go through an amber light. Think I made it worse because I kept laughing at how petty he was being. Anyway we have made up now which is useful as I may need him later!

It's one of my best mates birthdays tomorrow so would be nice to have the baby tomorrow too.

HM - I thought this one was going to be as impatient as DD (who takes after me) but she's happy staying put, I think it's the weather. I'm still up for a joint birth tomorrow though childcare better for me too at weekends.

Eshay - sorry to hear consultants appt didn't go well, how are you feeling about having a date for your c-section?

Mumfun - good to hear from you too.

Hope everyone else is doing ok will keep upi all updated but chances are I'll still be here in a week!

Will update stats thread when Loomer names her new DD and hopefully we'll hear from Rach and Lisa soon too.

lyra41 · 14/01/2006 07:55

morning all

thanks so much for all your congratulations. we are very very happy here with our new arrival, as you can imagine. i'm still in pj land and will be for a few days yet, but couldn't resist popping back here to see how you all all.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO LOOMER AND FAMILY!
What a fantastic sounding birth.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS ALSO TO MAMAN AND FAMILY!
What a beautiful name you've chosen. Good luck and keep in touch with us.

Ours wasn't quite like that....but i'm not going to go into detail here as i don't want to put anyone off, i'll post my birth story elsewhere if you're interested, in childbirth or birth announcements.

we're all fine now anyway, no hosp involvement and very speedy birth at the end. no stitches and healthy baby and happy mum, who could ask for more really!

big sympathies for all you ladies in waiting, you'll soon be out the other side, holding your little babies and it'll all be worth it.

Georgie, i'm with you on the push (!) for the post natal thread, when shall we start it? do we wait till everyone's delivered d'you think?

bit of a hellish nite last nite, Alex couldn't settle at all and wanted to feed continually (sore nips ouch emoticon), we went to bed at about 11 and he finally went to sleep at aobut 2.30 /3 am, but is still sleeping now, so i shouldn't really complain. i'll be glad when the milk comes in, for his sake as he seems pretty hungry, but not looking forward to the expansion situation that is inevitable. my norks are swallowing him up already, so goodness knows how he'll manage when they pop into their Jordan phase.

Iris
Thanks so much for posting for me. Hope your day goes well for you today.

sweetkitty · 14/01/2006 08:03

Hi Lyra great to see you again congratulations you must be in that hormone induced blissful "I can't believe I did that" stage what a weight too, well done. Hope to see some pictures soon. Alexander is one of our family names and David is DP's name. If we were to have a boy he would have David as a middle name. Speaking of which I dreamt I had a boy last night, how strange. If one did pop out he would be dressed in pink for a good few days.

No action or nothing to report here, today is my official due date, never thought I would make it nevermind go past it. Feeling a bit rough this morning bad nights sleep again and always wake and think "not another day of this!" Think I'm getting a bit stir crazy in here as well but don't really want to venture too far and the weathers so miserable as well. OK whinge over I'm sure I'll perk up a bit later. Poor DD has a cough and a cold too.

Hunker - we've not got long to make our due date either.

OP posts:
iris66 · 14/01/2006 08:26

Hi there !! you sound so loved up Lyra. I'm so pleased you have your LO at last It was my pleasure to post your announcement so no thanks necessary!!

Sweetkitty - how's your pelvis this morning after all that bouncing? Your poor DD too. Know what you mean about the stir craziness The weather's pants here too but I'm determined to don my wellies & take Millie for a big walk later today.

Eshay - at your consultant. We always seem to have an age long wait too & all they do is waffle isn't it!! Did you know you were going to have to have a c/s? Will you have to have one if you're early? (you may have talked about this before - sorry am a bit confused)

iris66 · 14/01/2006 09:01

Awwww - just been on the yahoo site...baby Alex & Lyra awwwwwwww

sweetkitty · 14/01/2006 09:18

The pics are lovely Lyra, the first one of Alex at an hour old is brilliant all squishy and newborn but he looks older already in the other ones with his eyes open, what a cutie and you look great too considering what you had just been through.

Shouldn't have looked though making me want one of my own even more.
