Sorry for the new thread and crap name but i needed to start one oi how are you doing good luck xxx

I have fallen off the face of MN for a week or so and have loadsss to catch up on! I have been busy doing coursework and seriously nesting!!

PGP is awful, to the point of making me cry, finally got a pyshio app, but not for another 2 weeks :( doesnt seem much point. OH continues not to even attempt a massage if i ask and rolls his eyes.

Been having really bad shooting pains that take my breath away, but seems as though baby is head down (and very low) im guessing its a nerve he is on.

Very strange and TMI... but earlier (when i went to the toilet) i could feel what felt like the head bulging on the outside, through my lady garden lol... freaked me out!!

Good luck oi !! Fingers crossed

tye glad you took the sick advice!!

Tyel Good that your brother has come around to the idea and your dad is okay about it, Also great that you have a supportive MIL Smile I'm sure your mum will be fine in the end.

LittleMissFlustered · 10/11/2011 17:29

Sorry, forgot we were supposed to be partying! Wink :o

OiMissus · 10/11/2011 17:45

Congrats on the test tyel! And your MIL sounds like a very wise woman. :) Can't wait for this party! But I'll skip the shots and the appley souz-wotsits darcies, and stick to wine or martini, thanks. :)
Tonight I shall be mostly drinking vodka and cranberry juice.
Tee hee! pregnancy has a lot to answer for, went to Tesco and thought I'd pick up Lady GaGa's Cd - they didn't have it in stock... bought Matt Cardle instead. DH will disown me. You may disown me. I apologise. Blush

DarciesmumandBump2 · 10/11/2011 17:58

Msbuggy 10ml really doesn't look a lot at all! unless I'm looking at the measurements wrong lol

DarciesmumandBump2 · 10/11/2011 18:01

Oi So red, white or rose wine?

I like a white wine spritzer Smile

looking forward to this party Grin LMF loving your Pom poms

mopsytop · 10/11/2011 18:17

Nice one on the test Tyel! Your MIL sounds lovely! And sensible advice too. Oooh party! Can we have pink prosecco please?

OiMissus · 10/11/2011 18:19

For a party, it would have to be dry and White - and then I'll get very messy and start dancing on tables.
If we were behaving and having dinner, then I'll enjoy a glass if something deep and red. Grin

DarciesmumandBump2 · 10/11/2011 18:31

Oi Dinner first, messy fun after lol Grin

OiMissus · 10/11/2011 18:34

That sounds like a plan!
(am also loving the pom poms!)

aethelfleda · 10/11/2011 19:10

Can we have a nice Gin and Tonic assortment please? DH is a bit of a gin-head, so we have about six different sorts the way sane people have several different wines in the rack. Juniper green Organic Gin is nice and fruity. Tanqueray is pretty good too. Ooh, and Hendrick's is interesting...got a bottle of Greenalls to try just as the morning sickness started and haven't opened it yet as my desire for alcohol is still there but my abilitu to enjoy/tolerate it goes through the floor when I'm pg! Managed 100ml of hoegaarden the other day then had to abandon it :(

Xiaoxiong · 10/11/2011 19:16

I'm all about the wine too. Preferably in a box with a spigot Grin

OiMissus · 10/11/2011 19:17

I dream of martini rossos, but can't handle more than a few sips. I just can't do it! I'm hoping this will change as soon as the parasite is ejected.
The Christmas Markets open soon too - which means mulled wine. Oh how I love mulled wine! Grin

mopsytop · 10/11/2011 19:25

aethel I LOVE hendricks mmm with cucumber. Sipsmith's is really yummy too. LOVE gin and tonic and am partial to a gin martini as well!

mopsytop · 10/11/2011 19:26

(that makes me sound like an alcoholic, which I am not! But I do like a nice gin cocktail now and again :) )

plupervert · 10/11/2011 19:42

You do all know that there are Friday night "drunk threads" on MN, don't you? People pack the kids off to bed and crack open whatever beverage they can lay their hands on! This sort of ab use is how I became such a heavy "user" of MN! After the credit crunch hit, DH's contract was terminated, and later he got a job working 3-4 days a week in Amsterdam. I had nowhere to go and nothing to do but socialise drink online with random subversives! At least it was better than television!

Such an online party could also help us solve our geographical differences. I would feel really quite sad to think of anyone (including me) being left out of such a party! Although if we organised competing parties, we could always link up through skype...

Tyelperion, your father and MIL sound like stars. They also sound quite emotionally intelligent, so surely they'll come up with a way to get your mother to reconcile with you without anything's being your fault.

Darcies, you are being a real alchemist, with your tea tree oil and colostrum. Grin

Finally managed to reconcile with DS by packing the day with a playdate and soft play in the evening - basically, exhausting him. My plan for the "waiting period" (during which we're not organising any playdates or trips anywhere) is a daily/weekly combo of:

  • park
  • swimming
  • soft play
  • CBeebies
  • sorting laundry
  • baking

Is that too "ambitious"?

plupervert · 10/11/2011 19:47

OiMissus, you could always mull apple juice (the dark, cloudy stuff) with the same spices. That's what we do for "non-alcoholics" at our winter parties, and we generally have to make more of that than of the mulled wine itself, as everyone is quaffing it more than happily! I had my first mulled apple of the season recently, in Greenwich market, and it was great. They add Rochester ginger to the mix, so it had something of the kick that I really miss from alcohol. mopsytop, your enthusiasm for the gin made me wonder whether you were suffering this as well - craving for a sharp taste which doesn't come from anything else?

KateM77 · 10/11/2011 19:51

I'll have a Scotch please. Something nice and peaty like a Laphroaig. And at this time of year I'm more than a bit partial to port and lulled wine too. A pint of real ale is always good. And wine. Aaagh, what have you all done to me? I've been coping quite well so far Blush

plu that sounds like the sorts of things I've been doing with DD. It's been working well at keeping her occupied and wearing her out, but has been exhausting me too!

Tyel congrats on the theory test. Good to hear your Dad and MIL are talking some sense too.

KateM77 · 10/11/2011 19:53

lulled wine? Meant to type mulled obviously. Trying to think what lulled wine might be like?

mopsytop · 10/11/2011 20:11

plu I have been downing tonic and lime and ice like nobody's business in order to fool myself into thinking I am getting some gin :S

LittleMissFlustered · 10/11/2011 20:23

Lime and soda is the mutts nuts!:o

sevensevenseven · 10/11/2011 20:51

Can I have a vodka and tonic?

I planned to have half a glass of red last night, I managed a quarter then had to let DH have the rest as it went straight to my head. I figured half a glass in pregnancy is acceptable, half-cut is not!

Congrats on the theory test tyel.

msbuggywinkle · 10/11/2011 20:52

I have a sloe gin habit. It is DP's fault for introducing me to it and nothing to do with me at all. Online drinking and partying I can do! Although I do tend to go on and on about sex when I'm drunk...

plu sounds sensible to me. My plan is to invite lots of our friends round here, the children entertain themselves, I just bung soup in the slow cooker for lunch and all of our friends are the kind of people to do the tidying up afterwards so it is minimal work for me!

msbuggywinkle · 10/11/2011 20:54

My house is now full of food, everything arrived for the mammoth cooking and freezing weekend this weekend! DP is eyeing up the sausages, but has been told to leave them the hell alone Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 10/11/2011 21:31

It would be an unwise man who would mess with sausages when told to back off:o

I have finally rid the house of lice. I'm going to squirt the cats with frontline while I'm at it, just to be on the thorough side.

Am making a list of what else needs to be bought for the festives. Not much, but I feel the need for a list. I'm buying the crib and carseat next week too. I sense an epic online spending session coming on.

Right, am away to my pit with a bottle of squash ( I am so fucking rock, to quote the Minch) and a notebook. Night all!

plupervert · 10/11/2011 21:34

What have we started?

Tell you what, shall we try demanding alcohol as our pain relief in labour?! I can't see that it will be much harder for the system to process than pethidine and epidurals, and people do talk about being off their faces if they have pethidine... I'm quite happy to drink lots of water alongside my Sancerre, to stay hydrated, but really think a nip at the bottle is a much more civilised idea than anything generally on offer in hospital.
