Sorry for the new thread and crap name but i needed to start one oi how are you doing good luck xxx

I have fallen off the face of MN for a week or so and have loadsss to catch up on! I have been busy doing coursework and seriously nesting!!

PGP is awful, to the point of making me cry, finally got a pyshio app, but not for another 2 weeks :( doesnt seem much point. OH continues not to even attempt a massage if i ask and rolls his eyes.

Been having really bad shooting pains that take my breath away, but seems as though baby is head down (and very low) im guessing its a nerve he is on.

Very strange and TMI... but earlier (when i went to the toilet) i could feel what felt like the head bulging on the outside, through my lady garden lol... freaked me out!!

Good luck oi !! Fingers crossed

tye glad you took the sick advice!!

Rainbows are the way to go when it comes to drinking - thats what I remember from my student days lol

LittleMissFlustered · 09/11/2011 19:06

Is it wrong that I just want to make a sponge mix up then eat it before baking? I'm not going to as raw egg is badness, but I've thought of nothing else for the last hour and a half >_

LittleMissFlustered · 09/11/2011 19:08
DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/11/2011 19:23

LMF I thought about that earlier and thought lol and refrained from making any.

plupervert · 09/11/2011 19:25

"Rainbows" - does that mean "technicolour yawn", Darcies?!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/11/2011 19:32

lol no means 10 shots one of every colour necked back, one straight after the other Grin can get messy hehe

sevensevenseven · 09/11/2011 19:34

First time I've been on today and there's 3 pages of posts to get through!

darcies glad you've taken the advice re bed rest, hopefully baby will stay put for a bit longer.

cheep hope it all goes ok tomorrow, and it works first time if they decide to induce you.

My MW visit went fine earlier. It turns out I was worrying over nothing, although I really appreciate all of your support yesterday. I've got the bowling ball feeling today, I feel like I'm always complaining about being uncomfortable. If she's engaged it hurts down below and if she's not she's hurting my ribs.

KateM77 · 09/11/2011 20:21

Good luck to Cheep, Darcies and Tyel...obviously all for very different reasons! Do try and get some sleep Cheep - I know it's easier said than done as I had the same thing the night before being induced with DD. Try a bath, some hot chocolate or warm milk before bed, get DP to give you a massage etc. etc.

Almost fell down the stairs after putting DD down for the night :( Managed to grab the bannister and save myself so avoided any bump-related damage, but have bruised all the underside of my foot.

Boobs suddenly feel very full this evening. Don't remember having that before DD's birth

fusam · 09/11/2011 20:22

cheep good luck tomorrow and hope you get some rest tonight.

LMF confession time: I made some apple cake last week and I might have kinda eaten a few spoonfuls of the mix Blush.....but but but I think the eggs are pasturised so erm..... will just go find the naughty step.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/11/2011 20:41

thanks Kate Hope your okay though? hopefully your resting now.

jigglebum · 09/11/2011 20:46

Wow - lots of activity on here now - and with the babies. Good luck for tomorrow cheep - look forward to hearing your news.

re cake mix - love it and always have. The only reason I used to bake was to eat the mx and must admit DS seems to have developed this too! We baked the other day and I just could not resist a little lick - I am sure it is ok at this late stage (well too late now!)

Like many of you I am feeling knackered now. Going to bed early helps somewhat but like many of you it is rather disturbed sleep, what with getting up for the loo, leg cramps and feeling a bit anxious about things and how we will cope with two.

Feeling fairly organised from a nursery point of view now but must pack that hospital bag. We have a tour of the hopsital on sat, which should help focus the mind a bit

Still up to our eyes in extension stuff - meant to be finished in four weeks time - just in time for due date in theory! Have 2 weeks left at work now. It is hard work but to be honest being at home all day with DS is harder! Not sure how he will cope with being one of two as he is used to a lot of attention, although he is looking forward to the idea in theory!!

msbuggywinkle · 09/11/2011 20:49

seven mine does that tooooo! I either can't bend over or can't sit down!

If we're confessing egg related sins...I eat runny eggs from my chooks, who aren't vaccinated against salmonella. They are bloody gorgeous. I haven't given into my pate craving (yet) though.

kate hope you're feeling better! I collapsed on my bum in John Lewis while carrying DD1 in the sling and being 34 weeks with DD2...I had an interestingly coloured arse for ages, but both DDs were fine!

plupervert · 09/11/2011 21:01

I've been having cheeky licks of brownie mix, too. After all, the eggs are organic, darlings... and after all, I do let my pfb have the rest: that's how confident I am in its wholesomeness!

Darcies, you see, my drinks tapas idea would get us right round that mess, as we would be sipping, for taste only. No necking (except of beautiful chilled wine). So civilised...... (Good Lord, this is going to be a hell of a Pinot Christmas!)

sevensevenseven, that up-and-down, in-and-out dynamic must be driving you distracted!

KateM, have you got any witch hazel handy? It's the best thing ever for bruises, and I imagine it will be good for swollen ankles, too...

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/11/2011 21:08

MsBuggy I love a runny egg - never stopped eating them. Pate I have laid off tho.

Plu I'd happily beck a glass of Zinfandel right now Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 09/11/2011 21:16

I didn't want a lick! I wanted to make a full 4oz/2 egg batter and neck the lot Blush

OiMissus · 09/11/2011 21:18

Every time DH bakes I get to lick spoons and scrape bowls. I don't care about egg content, the deliciousness is too good to resist. So there. Grin

OiMissus · 09/11/2011 21:19

Mmm yes, I could neck the whole lot.

Not sure how I'll go about sharing this when there are little ones about...

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/11/2011 21:27

Oi we can let our DHs have the children and we can make up for a yrs lost drinking!

OiMissus · 09/11/2011 21:50

I've already told DH that he's doing the next pregnancy.
Oh if only!
I've just turned 39, so really, if we want more than one, I shouldn't leave it too long before getting pg again. Just the thought makes me exhausted!!
(and he's 35, he's younger and fitter, he really should do the pg bit. Then I could drink martini whilst he drinks vimto! - as now!)

plupervert · 09/11/2011 21:51

Yes, all the expressing advice is going to be put to the test, for our night out! Wink
Tight, impossible-to-breastfeed-in tops (cheongsam dress, anyone?) will be the order of the evening, along with loose hair and dangly earrings (no-one will be tugging) and lots of face glitter!

I was just fantasising earlier, about a Saturday night when I had put a bottle of Pinot Grigio in the freezer until it got a little bit tinkly with ice, then sipped it while sitting next to the gas fire (proper hot flames and no spitting, you see) and reading. I think that was in 2002, and I still remember it.

aethelfleda · 09/11/2011 22:09

Mmm... Pate.... (looks at cupboard where there is a huge stash of French pate i bought in August....) Resist! Resist!!

And good luck for tomorrow cheep!! Probably nerve-wracking but hopefully exciting in a good way too xxx

AwomancalledHorse · 09/11/2011 22:54

Good luck for tomorrow cheep!!

Hope your foot feels better soon Kate!

I've been avoiding baking cakes just because I know I couldn't resist licking the bowl Grin

Going christmas booze shopping tomorrow! I'm not a massive drinker (had 3 glasses of bubbly this year prior to pregnancy), but dammit I want the stuff I'm not allowed!!

msbuggywinkle · 10/11/2011 08:10

Morning! squeeze

I've never felt deprived by not being able to drink in pregnancy before, but this time I just want the bottle of ale in the fridge, a big glass of white wine and a brandy. Craply though, I can't do nights out really, my hearing is so bad I need one of my supply of translators with me to repeat everything people say or I end up sitting there oblivious!

Midwife this morning, am going to try to get her to do my repeat iron bloods so I don't have to drag the DDs up to the hospital. Am going to turn myself upside down now to make sure baby is positioned sensibly!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 10/11/2011 08:37

Morning Ladies

Good Luck today Cheep

I slept on and off last night - woke up this morning with the bowling ball feeling - so much so I couldn't stand straight!

Today I'm going to give my steriliser a good wash and sterilise breast milk pots, bottles (obvs will do when time comes) pacifiers - just incase. Syringes - the little leaflet that comes with It says not to steam sterilise - surely it should be okay?

mopsytop · 10/11/2011 08:41

Good luck today cheep!

I made cookies last night and tasted the dough. Oops. Couldn't resist. Only a smidgen!

I have a (small) drink once or twice a week I must admit. I stay within the recommended guidelines (I actually measure it to make sure I am not going over!). Don't like the whole depriving myself thing, would just make me want it more!
