Sorry for the new thread and crap name but i needed to start one oi how are you doing good luck xxx

I have fallen off the face of MN for a week or so and have loadsss to catch up on! I have been busy doing coursework and seriously nesting!!

PGP is awful, to the point of making me cry, finally got a pyshio app, but not for another 2 weeks :( doesnt seem much point. OH continues not to even attempt a massage if i ask and rolls his eyes.

Been having really bad shooting pains that take my breath away, but seems as though baby is head down (and very low) im guessing its a nerve he is on.

Very strange and TMI... but earlier (when i went to the toilet) i could feel what felt like the head bulging on the outside, through my lady garden lol... freaked me out!!

Good luck oi !! Fingers crossed

tye glad you took the sick advice!!

Lol @ you lot!

OMG pressure down there is emmense def feel baby is moving down there, although don't feel any BHs.

PullyWoolOver · 06/11/2011 21:01

Er, tyel are you not doing all those things then? I definitely plan on giving birth while doing sit ups ya know...! Wink Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 06/11/2011 21:11

I feel like I am going to give birth every time I try to sit up, but I'm not sure that auntie means thatWink

As for vodka, good strong and Russian. Though wouldn't object to a man type of similar description it has to be said:o

I thought about getting the pram out of the box for a poke this evening, then decided I was too lazy. I am driving a friend insane with my laid back attitude towards it all. She wants to go on a buying frenzy, but knows I am so minimal in my day to day that she would be throwing money away. It's amusing to watch her getting in a tizz:) I fully expect her to throw a tantrum before new year:o

aethelfleda · 06/11/2011 21:38

Evening! I'm zonked today- did some housework and then felt totally wiped out. I'm just starting to feel slowed down in that really end-of-Pregnancy way, I'm still not looking that enormous as only 32.5 weeks but man do I feel unwieldy! Grumped at poor DH and then he had to cook dinner...

Does anyone have a good cure for being grumpy??

figgygal · 06/11/2011 21:52

At 35 weeks now I seem to have ballooned the last week or so do bumps get much bigger in last few weeks while they fattening up? Going to weigh myself in morning Sad

Started on the raspberry leaf tea today not horribly offended by it so will persevere.

Tomorrow commences my last 5 day week at work as have leave to condense the last 2 weeks happy days!!

LittleMissFlustered · 06/11/2011 21:52

Sleep, and lashings of it. Speaking of which, I ought to be asleep.

Hope you get an energy rush tomorrow:)

sevensevenseven · 06/11/2011 22:13

LMF I recommend Vladimir Putin Blush

I've just finished wrapping the Christmas presents! Very uncomfy now after 2 hours on the floor but so worth it!

kri5ty · 06/11/2011 23:05

darcies i was having reallyyyy bad pressure last week, i couldn't sit down and could even feel (what felt like) A HEAD bulging on the outside!! Loads of pains the mw said was him burrowing his head further, but this week i haven't had any... just a load of pressure!

Re raspberry leaf... when is it you up the dosage from 1 cup??

aethelfleda o
no cure sorry!!

Sorelip · 06/11/2011 23:33

Hi all. At nearly 36 weeks my body feels no closer to being ready for birth. I have a feeling that the little monster is going to be quite late, or may even require induction, which is the one thing I want to avoid.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend :)

AwomancalledHorse · 07/11/2011 00:22

Love all the names you've picked! And no-one has picked anything we're considering using, hurrah..I had a horrible feeling we'd all choose Bazza & Shakira and have a massive thread civil war over who stole a name from whom!
Has anyone ever been accused of 'name stealing'? One of my (slightly weird, very single) friends has mentioned everytime I've seen her how much she's looking forward to calling her (potential, future) daughter Grace. I would never use it, but as she's being so overprotective of it.... Wink

aethelfleda, no idea, if you find a cure for grumpy...let me know!

Tyel, your auntie sounds amazing!

seven! Having everything bought and wrapped?! You make the rest of us look really bad!

msbuggywinkle · 07/11/2011 08:08

tyel that had me in stitches! I've had a few mad requests from my Dad but nothing quite like that.

aethel sleep gives me a few hours of non-grumpiness, but I'm a cow when I'm pregnant, so much less patient with the DDs and much less tolerant with DP. When not pregnant I'm very laid back.

I'm feeling lots less stressy than yesterday, it is bloody freezing here, frosty. Have sent DP to work with extra layers, he was being silly about how cold it is going to be on his way home. The chickens haven't come out of their run yet, they are not impressed, it is the first time they have seen frost! No plans yet for the day, it feels really wintry though, might go and find something relevant to do with the DDs.

Mmmmcheese · 07/11/2011 08:26

I had another bad night and still getting a few painful BH, and feel really sick. Am hoping its all just going to go away, i want tonhang on until at least 34 weeks which is on friday. Not got much sleep either :(

mopsytop · 07/11/2011 08:31

You lot have made me laugh!

I think the name stealing thing is nonsense. No harm if your friends child and yours have the same name for starters and also, if you get pregnant first, you have dibs on the names. I am not telling anyone our name ideas, that way nobody can give their opinion ('oh no, not that name, I knew someone by that name, she was horrible' ermmm yeah well I didn't so I care?!). Not asking advice either. Just going to do what we want!!

Right, library is calling. Cold here too and misty and meh.

BeeMyBaby · 07/11/2011 08:44

I had some light cramping for a couple of hours on Tuesday, then had over four hours of it yesterday - I'm hoping baby will come by the end of the week (and I will be term by then) but just read a thread on the pregnancy board about people who were early for their first and went overdue on their second. So I guess it will just take as long as it does, but shall be trying longer walks etc from this point.

mopsy I made the mistake of telling people our names and got really horrible responses (Ethnic/Islamic names), on the bright side, my family have now come to terms with the names so they won't whinge once baby is here and my father even thought up the cutest nn if its a boy.

sevensevenseven · 07/11/2011 08:56

Sorry to hear about all the cramps, BH and lack of sleep.

No frost here but it's windy and drizzly. My plan for the day is to clean the bathroom floor. DS has hardly eaten anything for days so is somewhat lacking in energy :(

AWCH I know a previous prem baby doesn't guarantee the second will be but if she comes when DS does I have another 1.5 weeks. I said from the beginning I wanted Christmas sorted by the middle of November just in case!

fusam · 07/11/2011 09:05

Just catching up on everyone's news. Had the most bizarre dementia filled weekend. I put the remote in my bag thinking it was my mobile and the mobile was found in the fridge. I seem to forget what I am doing from one minute to the next Confused. I have a consultant's appointment today to decide between a ELCS and VBAC but I am still no closer to knowing what I want. I have lists of pros and cons, NICE guidelines and random internet guff, is any of it really helpful? no....bah

Sorry for those of you with aches and pains remember we are nearly there. I can't wait to e-coo over the lovely newborns over the next few weeks.

OiMissus · 07/11/2011 10:32

Morning all, am very jealous of those of you who have been to firework parties, I love fireworks, but certainly this weekend had to be about relaxing.
I'm still getting the contractions - should I call them BH? - they wake me up with lower back pain that builds up and up, sometimes I can breathe through it and imagine breathing in the golden light and feeling sand between my toes etc, and sometimes I have to get up and walk around and sway a bit, and breathe a bit more, and.. and.. Since being home from hosp the pressure has been bearable. Am going to spend this week really getting into the natal hypnotherapy thing, to see if I can master the pressure. I probably get about 15 sets of contractions every day, at varying levels of pressure.
So catch up time... darcies Eva Rose is a lovely name. msb I very much like Miranda Marjorie Erica too. Figgy my no. 1 name is Alistair Jude, but I'm having trouble convincing DH, he's stuck on Noah. My favourites are Alistair Jude, Samuel Jude, Edgar Alistair, possibly Maxwell... DH likes Noah and Archie. The only name we agreed on in hospital was Hong Kong Phooey...

Mmmm how's the split stomach? My dark line, goes all the way up to the top of the bump, but it's only very faint, and I don't feel particularly weakened. However, as tyel and a few others were saying, I feel like I could start labour off by sitting up, never mind doing sit ups! Do you hold your bump protectively when you're about to sneeze - for fear it'll all kick off? And what about going to the toilet and pushing - I have been VERY nervous about that the last week - especially as painkillers do tend to cause a bit of constipation!
Tyel good luck with the plan to tell your mum. You are absolutely right in your approach, and it's your body - no matter what her reaction is, she has to respect that, and that this birth experience will be personally YOURS for the rest of your life. You have to call the shots.
Huge post - sorry!
Am off sick this week but the doc at the hosp didn't actually give me a sick note, I'll have to call the hospital and ask about it.
Have a good monday all.

LittleMissFlustered · 07/11/2011 11:00

Morning!

I have decided that I am not having a baby, I am having a sodding octopus! There are limbs everywhere by the feel of it.

Right. Off to buy something to make stoo with. It is stoo weather and stoo it will be. Tomorrow anyway, when I have filled the slow cooker with meaty-veggie goodness and set it off:o

Mmmmcheese · 07/11/2011 11:18

I had a sleep and feel a little bit better. oi, you can always get a note from your gp if thats easier. It is hard coping with pain on and off all day isnt it? If only i can last a bit longer then i would worry much less.
Stomach split getting worse, get a kind of tearing pain every now and then which is horrible. Seems like nothing i can do about it until after the birth anyway. I didnt get the linea negra in either pregnancy but my bump is now getting quite veiny!

OiMissus · 07/11/2011 11:19

You and me both lmf, re the octopus!
Oh did I mention that the baby is still measuring big? In hospital I was measuring 38cm (I'm now 36 weeks +3). I had another growth scan. and it's definitely big.
But, they also said it would not be possible to have a pool birth before 38 weeks, because they would want to keep monitors on the baby as it would be pre-term... But then the MW said, well, that's what we would advise, but it is your choice. So if I do go in early I am going to argue for a pool birth and be open to discuss monitoring at intervals. I am going to refuse to be lying down whilst monitored for long periods of time - I can't manage the pain lying on my back, believe me! I was monitored lots whilst in hosp, and when there are only "tightenings" and not full contractions, then it's fine. But when contractions kick in, I need to move. and I WANT A POOL! (Which is why we gave them all flowers and choccies!)

OiMissus · 07/11/2011 11:22

re: your tummy tearing - I read a thread about what other cultures do to help re-flatten/ strengthen tummies after birth. In Malaysia and similar cultures, they bandage up the stomach, and this seems to help. I'm keeping my Tubigrip, and plan to use it after the birth. Hopefully then the skin will be less itchy and I can bear to wear it for more than a few hours - but It sounds like what you need right now mmmm.

HoneyLovesCake · 07/11/2011 11:24

Morning all...just checking in. Have finally caught up on all your posts.

Sooo wish I could spend the day in bed but I have lots to do still. Talk of blankets etc has made me realise how little I have sorted...got sleeping bags & gowns but still need bedding & a thousand other bits & bobs. Is everyone else constantly tired? Wondering if it's just being heavily pregnant or the anaemia?

We have boys & girls names but we're not sharing...I tend towards the more unusual but DP reins me in Wink. Went for a walk on the beach yesterday & then brunch at a beachside cafe with DP's dad & partner. They asked about names but I would only tell them ones DP had vetoed as I don't want their opinions on our choices...took us months to finalise the list. Right choice for us as when I told them Calypso was one that didn't make the list FIL's partner said "I had a horse named Calypso" ; of course she wouldn't have mentioned it if we introduced LO with that name but that's kind of the point. I find the whole name stealing thing odd...I couldn't care less if my BF used the same name, that being said we did veto one name because DP's stepbrother used it for his DS.

Wishing you loads of luck with your mum Tyel I hope you can make her realise that your mind is made up & all she can give you at this point is her support. Crossing my fingers she gets over her concerns quickly.

HoneyLovesCake · 07/11/2011 11:33

OMG told DP yesterday that we were having an octopus with elbows great minds think alike Wink

AwomancalledHorse · 07/11/2011 11:59

Oi, I hope you get your pool!!
Mmmm (and I guess everyone else?) sorry you had such a rubbish night.

Look forward to seeing pictures of all of your Octopi babies! I'm having the sort of baby Sir.Mix-a-lot would love, its giant arse has been sticking out for most of the weekend!

Two more stupid first timer questions;

  1. Can you feel the baby move around/kick once its engaged & labour has begun?
  2. Is it worth buying a tub of formula feed, just incase? (LO due on 22nd, so could potentially come when shops are shut).

Hope everyone has a good day, littlemiss, I want a stoo now! Hope yours is amazing, one of the best things about winter is all the stodgey goodness!
