Hello everyone :)

Stuck at home feeling crap today, some mystery virus has knocked me out. DH has been a star, came home last night, cooked dinner and took DD out to playgroup this morning so I could sleep. Hopefully it will go soon :(

EsmeWeatherwax · 05/12/2011 16:12

Hi all, horrible day today. Was really sick this morning for a kick off, thenn late for nursery. Then my lovely car broke down when I went to collect dd2 from playgroup, just completely died! Fortunately I was at my mum's at the time, and within walking distance of playgroup, but had to sit and listen to my dad moaning at me the whole afternoon while we waited for the RAC to arrive. And boy, did he moan, Victor Meldrew could take lessons! Missed my online grocery delivery too, so no dinner for dh and I tonight!

Bah! But on the up side, car is easy to fix, was just a blown fuse, so local garage has ordered the part. And I have a 32 week scan tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing bubs again! Think its a growth scan, but it might just be to check where my placenta is as I'm down for an elcs.

Sorry about the self indulgent moany post! Some days really are just a waste of makeup! Xmas Grin

I contemplated colouring in a nasty placed spot in with brown eyeliner today to look like a beauty spot.

Seriously how can you go to bed with clear skin and wake up with such a horrendous spot ?

Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Sugar80 · 05/12/2011 17:43

Successful MW appointment! Nice MW who I really like, as the slightly dour one who's been assigned to me is on holiday. This one actually volunteers information, fills in the book properly, and has a chat and a laugh.

I am measuring 26cms at 28 weeks, so in the normal range! Apparently I do look smaller than this, likely because I was fairly small and reasonably toned to start with. deardear I bet they'll say the same to you - these horses keep us in shape!

Apparently I'm leaving it quite late to keep working (until 38 weeks), especially as I have a long commute. Been advised to see how it goes...

PamBeesly · 05/12/2011 18:10

Hi lovelies, I see I'm not the only one suffering from no sleep. I am just so sore and uncomfortable and need the loo at least every ten minutes before I fall asleep. My ribs and spine are also aching, the ribs were so sore and tender I took a paracetamol, it didn't do the trick though.
I've such a busy week ahead, my parents in law are visiting from Holland tomorrow for a week and I'm going to London on Saturday until Tuesday, I can't wait but a part of me is thinking that I wish DH had booked it a few weeks earlier because I'm just so tired and achy. My GP said I'm fine to fly though, I'll be 29+1 when I fly. I'll just have to have loads of stops for hot chocolate and people watching. Anybody here from London? I've no plans for what I'm going to do there, I just want to go to the Tower and the rest will be based on how tired I am/kindly recommendations from you :)

Pam - I am in London. There are loads of great museums and places to rest with a hot chocolate and people watch.

Art: Tate Modern, Tate Britain, National Gallery, National Potrait Gallery, Royal Academy of Art are all central.

Museums: Museum of London, British Museum, Natural History Museum, Science Museum, V&A (last three in South Kensington, others more central).

Shopping: Try Westfield in Shepherds Bush for everything in house shopping, it is much nicer, has better facilities (great toilets), great food and is less hectic than Oxford Street.

Music/People Watching: Southbank Centre, they have a Christmas Fayre on Queens Walk and a chocolate festival in Southbank Centre Square. Starting on Monday 12th there is a winter garden grotto on the roof of the Queen Elizabeth Hall. All are free. Royal Festival Hall also has free music quite often in the foyer. Plus London Eye whilst expensive passes a nice hour above the skyline of London. London Aquarium is also nearby.

There is also Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.

Xavielli · 05/12/2011 19:14

Aww, I want a day out in London. Can feel my hips aching just thinking about I though!

pinkhollie · 05/12/2011 19:21

littlemonkeybix I'm with you on the vivid dreams of exes. Mine is even worse as he is my "we were never single at the same time but may have messed around together" from when I was 17! I am 33 in 2 weeks time and love my husband to pieces but think this one person will always be in my subconscious as a "what might have been". Blush

deardear · 05/12/2011 20:26

thanks everyone - very reassuring :)

i do think he has moved from transverse as well at last. giving my fanjo a really good going over atm - its not seen this much action since i first got preggers!

went out saturday night and said i really wasnt enjoying this pregnancy and wished it was over. there were a few shocked faces! pregnancy is lovely because you hopefully get a happy healthy new life at the end of it but boy you cant describe some of the utter crap you have to go through to get there. cant wait to go into labour as i know it will all be over soon.

ps yes i am happy now i am preggers lol

babycarmen · 05/12/2011 21:08

Getting really bad dizzy spells today, even when sitting down it feels like im going to pass out - horrible feeling. I dont understand it, ive been eating better then usual and taking my iron. Still seeing those spots in my eyes and my heads a bit iffy like ive got a cold coming on so its probably my blood pressure is low :/ Why cant i just feel perfectly well and healthy for ONE DAY???? Im actually starting to feel quite down because i just feel ill all the time this last week or so. Harumph. And now i feel bad because all i do is bloody moan!

As of today i have 9 weeks til my due date! It seems to be flying by, i hope the next few weeks slow down, im far too busy to push out a baby just now!

I am so glad to be nearing 30 weeks and the countdown!
I am having a crap time. 3dcs all seriously hyped by xmas and a grumpy mummy does not make for happy relations an there has been lots of shouting and tears mostly from me. To top it think I might have broken my finger so may have to go get it seen to and really can't be bothered.

Seeing as quite a lot of us are in the north, does anyone fancy a meet up in January in Manchester or such like (imagine the moaning lol)

Popped back on here and had sooooooo much to catch up on, It's all been jumbled up in my washing machine head and can't remember, who said what, sorry! But hope everyones ok(ish) or as well as you can be in whale proportians.
Had to take the day off work to look after ds with upset tum. But enjoying a snuggle on sofa with Xmas films. Have got my fourth in a row UTI, and lot of antibiotics, not sure why I keep getting them, been doing everything I can not to, to no avail.
Bubba still transverse and hyper active! Wondering if it will have adhd after birth, I never get any peace! Really hard kicks too, I'm getting quite vocal at times when it kicks now with lots of 'oooofs and owwws' waiting for my next scan on 29th Dec to see if my placenta has moved, if not it'll be caesarean. Spd, had kept at bay till about a week ago and I naively thought I'd got away with it, no such luck, have been in agony, bed time being the worst of it. 31 weeks today, and apart from pushchair, infant carrier have got nothing else prepared at all. Still have all of ds baby things, but they all need sorting out, washing, ironing. I haven't got the time or energy, at the mo. And my hospital bag is just a little thought bubble dancing through my head. Oh the joys!

deardear · 06/12/2011 13:31

well just come back from MW - she stuck needles in me!! took a couple of attempts lol.

Good news is that LO has moved and is now lying normally for now and he has grown. He gave her a mahoosive kick as well.

currently sat with a nice big fat juicy burger king. starving!

deardear · 06/12/2011 16:31

oh dear - I went on the December baby thread and discovered Epi-No's! So wrong. I feel like i have a bucket one anyway so why on earth would i want to stretch it until its ready anyhow lol

hippysair · 06/12/2011 18:36

Oops, just scrolling through on my phone and accidently clicked report on a post! What do I do? Eeek! Panic!
As for epi-no's, have just googled them to see what it was, and erm, no thanks, they ain't cheap either for a beaver balloon

QueenFee · 06/12/2011 23:19

Dh had previously asked me what I thought when he was doing some research to help me. I think he still thinks its a good idea! Bless at least he cared enough to find it!

Spd pain kicking in today and no chance of rest as busy week. Sling meet and christmas concert tomorrow.

I really want to buy something for the baby but am trying to resist as a, I dont need anything b, i am broke c, its just to pass the time. Oh well.

30 weeks tomorrow (baby brain got all excited thinking it was today :( )

hermionejgranger · 07/12/2011 06:56

QueenFee bless your DH! Mine went pale when I mentioned perineal massage and said he thought he was probably busy that day!

at Hippysair - love "washing machine head" - absolutely captures exactly what mine feels like! Hope DC has a better tum now and that you are benefitting from the antibiotics.

Babycarmen sorry you're still feeling ropey.

Sorry if I've missed anyone...just off to rush getting ready as I have to leave the house in 20 mins - bugger, didn't keep an eye on the time...

littlemonkeybix · 07/12/2011 07:23

Hahaha I told DP he WOULD be doing perineal massage... not a choice!! He did chuckle and said ok... but I presume he'll "forget" he said that when I bring it up again.

Last night, I dreamt of rats... every time i woke up and went back to sleep, I would have a new dream... but with rats again Sad

CoffeeOne · 07/12/2011 10:29

Hello all. Got a few pages to read up on so excuse the lack of personals for now please.

I'm feeling really floopy. Back to feeling 1st trimester tired. Results back from bloods and my iron levels are low which probably isn't helping. All I have the energy for is work (barely). Then I come home, usually cry and poor DP has to do all the house stuff. I'm falling asleep by 9 and it's back to work again in the morning. Very fed up and wishing the time away now.

Re perineal massage, what oil is good? I'll probably be doing my own as DP will probably turn it into something else!

Little boy is curled up in a ball under my right rib. Not so comfy! I feel bad for complaining about this pregnancy because I'm so so happy that it's happening. I'm just so tiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrreeeeeeed.

hurry up Christmas Xmas Sad

littlemonkeybix · 07/12/2011 11:03

I heard (read) that almond oil was good... I have told DP to buy me some ASAP Grin

littlemonkeybix · 07/12/2011 11:04

Sorry you're feeling so plop coffee Hopefully some iron rich foods/tablets will perk you up?!

Is there iron in Chocolate??!! Wink

phlossie · 07/12/2011 13:20

Yeah - almond oil is supposed to be good! Those beaver balloons are just weird!

I bought a couple of cream babygrows and vests today having realised that ds and dd between them have left puke/poo stains on a lot of the stuff I have! This poor child is going to be in hand-me-downs forever, so I thought I'd treat it to a couple of new things. I am, however, too chicken to buy newborn nappies!

The lady on the checkout in Sainsbury's said that I didn't look like I only had 10 weeks to go. I could have kissed her!

Don't feel bad for complaining, coffee - pregnancy is hard! I'm actually feeling really good atm. The same happened with DD - I had a blip at around 27-29 weeks where I felt achy and awful, and then I felt pretty good for the rest of the time. Hopefully it'll be the same for all you lot who are suffering.

Back on the subject of piles... Is anyone else doing gigantic poos? I totally blocked the loo in Costa, and had to leave quickly Xmas Blush!

littlemonkeybix · 07/12/2011 14:16

OK best quote of the day right there!! ^

HAHAHA! Xmas Wink

TMI

Currently mine are awkward and only "most of it" goes... so I end up being a bit blokey and having a read in there!! Xmas Blush I have even bought myself some moist tissue to combat the "whole roll for 1 visit" situation! I decided not to struggle as I don't want to get piles... they sound awful!

On a more rubbish note... I have found 2 or 3 stretch marks developing!! BOOOOOO! I know they are part and parcel, and I haven't been as vigilant in moisturising as I could have been.... but as a fatty, I was hoping I already had my compliment about my belly... but NOOOOO... damn you!!

So the oil will be applied at bathtime, followed by mounds of moisturiser... EVERY HOUR!

babycarmen · 07/12/2011 14:53

My poos have been fine, i thought id be all blocked up etc when i went on the iron tablets but so far, luckily, i have been fine. Only difference is they are a darker colour.. laaaavly! Oh what a lovely thing to talk about Xmas Grin

monkey - ive got a stretchmark too. One on my stomach.. -cries- ive got quite a few on my hips but i dont care about those, i never wanted to get any on my tummy though and now i have one more will probably come :( I dont know why im so vain about my stomach but still.. just another thing to add to the list of "Great things about this pregnancy" Xmas Hmm Oh i also have a cannabis leaf shape mark where my belly piercing stretched with DD haha!

I really need to start eating and sleeping better. Im going to make some fruit scones now.

Well, bizarrely, I've been having problems with piles in the last 2 months or so (though thankfully only very rarely painful) and still am, but I'm pooing better than usual. _ Not giants or anything but more regular than usual!

One thing that I think has helped with my piles has been sitting in a hot bath for about 15mn or so - really calms things down....
