babycarmen other sources of potassium: yoghurt, potatoes (especially sweet), dates, raisins, orange juice.

Also am I the only person...(probably) who was so awstruck by what appeared to be the first stretch marks...I was gleeful ran out to show my husband??? also do not mind the weight gain and general lumpiness look (have gained 2stone so far)

I haven't weighed myself yet! Don't want to know :)

coffee, two people said "are you sure it's not twins? You know they can miss them on the scan" today. HA HA. I replied that i've had 7 scans, and it really really is only one. Funny friends!!

Right, I've put lavender all over the place (too much) and I WILL sleep properly tonight!

Ug. I wish my body wouldn't keep deciding it doesn't like more and more drugs - I've started throwing up if I take codiene in doses that actually work. And there's no other painkiller the GP can prescribe. He also didn't want to re-prescribe other drugs I'm on without talking to another consultant, though looked abashed when I pointed out I had a stash for the next few months and would be taking them anyway... though the research into effects in the final trimester isn't the most reassuring but does say in case of clinical need to take them.

So ended up being off sick this week after only one week sort of working in the last 3 months. I could do an hour or two a day but not 8 hours.

Been eating loads of porridge and biscuits and crumpets and other bland slightly sweet stuff. Don't think I've put much weight on but my bump has got to that annoying stage of bumping into things and I keep forgetting to leave space for it. It's also higher up than last time so I look apple rather than pear-shaped. Last time it was a steep slope which looked fine until I caught sight of the underhang in a mirror just before birth... remember raspberry ripple icecream? Yeah. Sort of silvery lines now.

Baby is much more violent than ds was, though less constant. Want to tell her that just because I was born at 27+5 doesn't mean she's allowed to come out on Friday! Or in fact any time until February, thank you (may change my mind after Christmas...) Hoping my mum doesn't panic as much as last time when she phoned near-daily from 28 weeks to check I hadn't given birth yet!

Think I need calf massage to relax them enough to stop my ankles being strained with cramp. Gah. At least ds was lovely yesterday and slept like a log until just now (he tried pyjama bottoms for nearly the first time since giving up nighttime nappies, so came in just now complaining they were wet - luckily his bed wasn't and he's gone back to sleep). Maybe this is the end of a few weeks of him playing silly buggers in the night [touch wood!]

Sugar80 · 24/11/2011 06:58

Hope all who've been feeling poorly have a better day today.

How much weight are we meant to have put on, or does it vary a lot from person to person? My midwife hasn't weighed me since my first appointment, and I've put on around a stone overall so far.

Yesterday my delightful "friends" is work were suggesting what I could wear to the Christmas party. A tent, or I could dress up as a Christmas pudding... nice!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 24/11/2011 07:29

babycarmen, you'll be leased to know that another source of potassium is chocolate! GrinOh, and rhubarb.

Having a really bad week pukiness wise. V bored of this now.

I have been actively seeking a pudding top since finding out I was PG, and working out how far I'd be by then Grin

I will be the one to make jokes about me thanks! I have mentioned it to a few people already.... all said "oh no".... yeah, but behind my back??!!

Today I have consumed so far:
1 large mug black decaf coffee
yoghurt and muesli [virtuous face]
1st twirl of the day [guilty face]

OH and someone at Aquanatal last night said a glass of tonic water a day to stave off leg cramps!

Dont know how true?!!

Kayano · 24/11/2011 11:25

I have just woken up
Have therefore missed all the drs appointments.

I have a killer headache and my limbs ache! I am exhausted and weepy.

Diagnose me please so I don't have to go to walk in centre

louby86 · 24/11/2011 11:37

Hope you're feeling better soon Kayano

Have you been overdoing it? I get like that when I've done too much

Kayano · 24/11/2011 11:41

Not consciously :(
I was going all hot and cold and had my coat on and off constantly. And I feel to exhausted to go get any breakfast.

Jesus look at the time Sad

louby86 · 24/11/2011 12:35

Sounds a bit like a flu type virus Sad

Get well soon

Kayano · 24/11/2011 12:40

babycarmen · 24/11/2011 14:24

Hope you feel better soon Kayano - nothing worse!

Taking DD to see Santa and his reindeer on Saturday in town. She wrote him a list today which includes a skateboard, princess wallpaper, a hose for her paddling pool and a pink princess t-shirt. Hmm. Santa will have his work cut out today!

Determined to decide on a middle name for baby Halle today!

I've just bought a breast pump!! Breastfeeding starter set currently £100 in Amazons's Black Friday deals - includes the pump (£70 on it's own), steriliser, all the bottles you'll ever need, storage containers, breast shields (?) and some moisturiser stuff. Sorted!

lilyrose123 · 24/11/2011 17:26

Esme Grin we are allowed to eat milton now?? LOL
i had a steak on tuesday night at nanna's 80th ordered it medium, but it came a bit rarer than that, hubby went to suggest i ask for it to go back and be cooked longer, but i think he took my snarl to mean back off!!! LOL

sugar 80
i had an email from boots today their week by week guide tell you ideas of how much weight you can gain, but i wouldnt take any of it too seriously

www.webmd.boots.com/pregnancy/guide/pregnancy-week-by-week-seventh-month?page=2

says week 29 should have gained 19-25lb
.........but i know someone at work that put 5 stone on and has lost 4.5 of it in 5 months, and I am 28 weeks and only put 4lb on cos i have been so bloody ill with it all, last pregancy i gained 3 stone, so who knows!

sorry for all those people feeling ill, including myself....cue violins, lots of us not sleeping well at the moment, although last night was ok for me, i normally scroll onto the facebook group on i phone knowing that someone will be up miserbale same as me Wink

GGT next week, and scan in 2 weeks...hope to find out which team!

28 weeks now!

EsmeWeatherwax · 24/11/2011 17:40

I got 6 Tommee Tippee bottles on Black Friday yesterday, although am pretty much expecting to bf this one, I am definitely getting him used to the occasional bottle early on! DD2 never took a bottle until she was 18mo, I was knackered by then! She didn't sleep well, to say the least. In fact she has only really stopped bf now, I'm right off the idea of starting it up again too...just hope I come back round before February!

Littlemonkeybix my dad used to get terrible leg cramps at night, and he swore by tonic water to ease them, apparently it's the quinine in it that works.

Kayano hope you feel better soon love, tis a nightmare when you can't just dose yourself up with all the painkillers under the sun.

Wicketkeeper it does get very, very tedious when you are still being sick at this stage. I hated every minute of my previous two pregnancies, just dragged on and on, feeling sick constantly. If anybody else had mentioned ginger to me think I would have shoved some up their bum! Still can't stand ginger biscuits.

I was over at my best mates today, and she's basically emptied her garage into my car! Got a cot top changer, a gorgeous wee white crib, and a full on Mamas and Papas travel system, dh is going to kill me...I think we currently have about 5 prams kicking about the place! Am going to freecycle at least one of them today though! Maybe even two!

woowa · 24/11/2011 19:37

Are we allowed to put Gin in the tonic to make it taste better?

Rare steak should be fine, we have rare everything (well, lamb and beef, not chikcen and pork!!) and never had a problem. It's only if there's listeria in it, which is unlikely.

I slept a lot of last night kind of half sitting propped on pillows, finally a way to be comfortable for a while. Side sleeping is getting worse, and any number and type of pillows don't make it any better.

Does anyone else's baby kick more when you lie on one side than the other? I know I can't be hurting it, but why does it kick so ferociously when I lie on my left, and not right??

Totally peopled out today, i think i need space from noise and people to get through life!!

Kayano · 24/11/2011 20:08

I am feeling a bit better Smile
Been drinking a lot more after reading advice and asking on pregnancy boards and bump is wriggly wriggly which is good

BillComptonstrousers · 24/11/2011 21:07

Cast your minds back if you will ladies, to June, and the first feb baby thread that was started.

How we all had that horrible agonising wait till the magic 12 week mark, and it just seem to drag on and on...

Now does anyone feel like time is speeding up and the weeks are flying by, and at some point fairly soon, we have to push a baby out of a tiny hole and as you can tell I AM FUCKING BRICKING IT.

I have done this twice, why am I so bloody scared???? For some reason it's all I can think about at the minute Sad

And to top it off I'm exhausted. I'm sure with the other two I had loads of energy around this time, and was out and about all the time. I think it's because I'm gettin older.

Now I just feel like an old bag of shit. Maybe it's all the rubbish I'm eating, all I want is is carbs and chocolate and it's making me so sluggish and crap.

What a self indulgent whiny-arse post.

Kayano · 24/11/2011 21:20

It's alright bill

I am bricking it to the point I have to go back to the psychologist and have the hypnotherapist on speed dial Sad

I don't even like the pain of plucking my eyebrows ffs lol

BillComptonstrousers · 24/11/2011 21:24

You don't like your eyebrows plucked? Oh kayano you are fucked Grin hypnotherapist sounds amazing! Have you been to see them already?

OP posts:
Kayano · 24/11/2011 21:32

Yes and had lots of therapy just to get me to have my anti-D injections lol.

They are on Tuesday Confused

But then I am to ring her ASAP to discuss getting ready for the birth lol. She is actually a doctor in the hospital who does it so hopefully she might be there lol. I have downloaded some hypnosis relaxation things from iTunes but she is much much better Smile

I actually need to spend some time with my eyebrows tomorrow if my arms are strong enough to lift the tweezers! Ha

BillComptonstrousers · 24/11/2011 21:42

So no epidural then?

OP posts:
babycarmen · 24/11/2011 22:01

Me too Bill, exhausted doesnt cover it, neither does bricking it. I actually need time to slow down, i know when christmas is out the way il barely have time to think and il be pushing a baby out. I just know im going to go early (if i dont get induced early again anyway) and i have this huge fear of going into labour and being like OH CRAP i still havent bought this and this!!!!

But at the same time i am SO looking forward to not being pregnant. Hurry up 6th Feb or whenever she decides to come!
