liz does violet nap during the day? Or does she save all her sleep till night time? And how many weeks is she now?

Joshua had his feed at 8:20pm but fell asleep for 15 mins then had a bit more. He slept till 5:15 but stupid me woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep till after his feed!! Then he got up at 8:40.

How is poppy melly?

How did Euan do last night klou?

Hope you enjoy swimming madkatz

Do you think it's a bad idea to take Joshua swimming with his cough and cold?

lizandlulu · 28/12/2011 14:35

iwish if its a normal day, i am usually out most of the morning and she will prob nap for an hour or so, then not sleep till bout 2-3 when she will have another hour. if we are home all day tho she is awake all morning, usally wanting a sleep about 11.30 and might sleep for 2 hours, she did this on christmas day. but i try not to let her sleep after 4 whatever we are doing.
so she doesnt have very much sleep in the day

do you know what, i dont knoiw how many weeks she is Xmas Blush i think shes 23! but i started not letting her sleep after 4 when she was about12-14 weeks old, my mother in law said i was cruel cause i kept knocking the bouncy chair when she kept dropping off, but if thats what it took to get her to sleep then i will do

how bad is his cold? i would take him if hes not too bad, just wrap him up when you come out and if it was me i wouldnt stay outside, like, go swimming then go straight home, i wouldnt stay out

Iwish · 28/12/2011 16:39

Omg if I don't let Joshua sleep after he cries and screams until bedtime!! Can you remember what violet was like before she started sleeping so early and how many weeks she was when se started sleeping so early?

Hmmm he is v snotty. His cough isn't on his chest or anything but (sorry if tmi) the snot must be going down the back of his throat and he sicks it up or it makes him cough.

Ok now I really wish I could put Joshua in his bed awake and he would fall asleep. I can't do it tho because I can't stand the screaming!

lizandlulu · 28/12/2011 17:20

do you mean early bedtime? she was 17-18 week when i started putting her to bed early, but it was all her, not me, the holiday in october was the turning point, as soon as we got back, the clocks changed the same day and she ended up in bed at 6.30, before we went, she wasnt going to bed till 9.30 and she had to be ready to sleep otherwise she wouldj ust cry. so i carried on trying to get her ready for bed at 6.30 and not letting her sleep late afternoon. we have only had the scring in the cot one or twice, chris wasnt happy about me letting her cry, cause she did cry for a long time. but i kept going back to her and reassuring her and we havent had a any tears since.

she has her tea at 4.30, then bath at 5, and at about 6 i take her into her bedroon with dimmed light and give her her bottle in there, nice and quiet. but i try not to let her go to sleep on it, i talk to her or tickle her feet so she is sleepy but awake and she goes off no problems, no lights on, no toys or anything like that. my plan is to swap the quiet time bottle for quiet time book when shes older

Iwish · 28/12/2011 17:48

Yeh going to bed so early. Joshua still goes about half 9 ish but I have to feed to sleep. He's 14 weeks now so hopefully he will start going to bed early soon. I'd be happy with 7pm till 8am even with his 5:15 feed.
Usually I feed him and he drops off and I just leave him for 10 mins before I take him to his room. Maybe I should take him strait away and if he wakes up then just try settling him in his cot...

DP is making a corned beef hash and it smells soooo good!! I'm starving.

KLou111 · 28/12/2011 17:53

Wow Liz fab night :)
Euan was fab again last night iwish slept 6.45-5.50, fast asleep after 2 mins chattering til 7.45!!! He then has a nap 9.30-10 and goes straight off as he's sleepy, do I grab a shower. He has a nap 12-2, then that's it til bed time, so 2.5hrs in the day.
His typical day is
8 full bottle,
9 porridge with fruit puree,
Nap 9.30-10
11.15 veg puree, fruit puree, 1/2 petit filous, 60ml pear juice,
Nap 12-2
2.15 full bottle
5.15 full
6.30 rice and fruit puree, bed

Have been gradually increasing food and he's dropped 1 bottle at lunch time bit still having around 28-30oz.

Started putting him to bed at 7pm at 8 weeks I think it was, maybe sooner. I remember he was young. Never really moaned about bed, only a handful of times when he had wind or something. Then he'd wake for food or nappy.
Always do it quiet with minimum fuss lol.
He always fell asleep downstairs around 7 so thought may aswell put him to bed so just went from there.

KLou111 · 28/12/2011 17:55

Didn't mean he was chattering til 7.45, he slept just after 5.50 after chattering couple mins lol!

OP posts:
KLou111 · 28/12/2011 18:15

Iwish · 28/12/2011 20:04

Wow 8 weeks. I remember it bring early but didn't realise it was that early.
Shock but I went upstairs with Joshua at 7:30. Put him in his cot and he cried a little bit so I put his dummy in. And kept putting it in for a while as he drops it then cries and he was asleep by 7:45 and I didn't have to pick him up!! Xmas Grin Just hope he wakes now for a feed between 8:30 and 9:30 then sleeps till his usual 5:15. He slept through his 8:30-9:30 feed the other day so was up at 1:15 and 5:15 then 8:30.
Do you bath every night klou?

KLou111 · 28/12/2011 20:31

Yup every night since he was born. Loves it!! We put johnsons bed time bath in the water, wash his hair with the chamomile shampoo they have, dry him, then oil him up. Same since he was born :) Only night haven't is the night we got back from hol.

simons dad is a fucking piece of shit. We had them all round for tea earlier, fil mil and 2 bils. Someone either fil or bil1 said something and they ended up fighting. I was yelling at them to stop in my house infront of poppy (!!) and they calmed down and left 30 mins later. This was about 6pm ish. Me and simon just watching a film and he's had a phonecall off bil2 saying fil is beating up mil! Simons been drinking so wont drive and has ran all the way to mils. What a fucking WANKER! She should have got rid when she had the chance. I'm fuming and I can't even go see if she's ok because I have no-one to watch poppy.

lizandlulu · 28/12/2011 21:07

i like to give vi a bath every night, even tho you dont need to, i just like it as part of her routine. tea, bath, bed and i hate being out of that, like tonight we have been out for tea, so she hasnt had bath and been put to bed later, so it will put her all out tomorrow and usually she doesnt sleep as well either. but if i dont go out i get called a boring old fartXmas Grin

but not got to out at any time in particular tomorrow morning so not got to wake her for anything, only got supermarket in the morning.

Iwish · 29/12/2011 12:28

Omg melly that's awful. Is she ok?

Did Violet sleep ok then liz?

Mmm hope you enjoyed your profiteroles klou

Well Joshua went down at 7:45 but was up at 8:20 for his feed. He woke at 10:15 ish for a cry so I shoved his dummy in and he woke at 3:45 and 6:00 for a feed then was up for the day at about 8:45. Not bad a suppose but I know he can go strait through till 5:15 and don't know why he is randomly waking up crying.

MadKatz · 29/12/2011 17:44

Melly hope mil is ok.

Just on way back to mids. Been good journey so far, prob an hour to go x

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 30/12/2011 15:50

glad you are having a good journey, its crap weather to be doing anything in. we have just been to a party at a fun farm, not as busy as i imagined it would be.

our pound shop is ace, they sometimes have a few bits of proper stuff in there. they often have simple, as in the make simple, babt bath and wash in there and always afew johnsons bits.

MadKatz · 30/12/2011 20:12

Well... Sophie slept from midnight to 5am again last night!

So now we're thinking the colic is on it's way out and we really should try and get into a bit more of a routine at night. So tonight it was bath at 7, feed and in bed by 7.45. Here's hoping for another good night.

Weather's been crap here too.
