Hello :)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
musicalmrs · 18/10/2011 09:17

Too, hope the midwife has turned up, and hope all is going ok. Brooking for you!

Biscuits, any good (cheapish) party shops near you? We have a great one here, that has outfits for all occasions. If not, I've seen a lot in Tesco recently. It's our first year living in an area where there are children (since moving away from home we've always been in professional-ish flats), so I'm really looking forward to having trick or treaters come round this year!

Feeling even more rubbish today, so took the day off. Feeling slightly guilty - especially as it's the last week before half term, but hopefully a day off today means I'll still be able to teach at the end of the week. It's the first day off I've taken from this teaching service in a year and a half though, so guess I shouldn't feel guilty.

Scream, hope you're able to find excuses for not drinking! I'm getting away with it quite easily as I don't really drink anyway (not a fan of the taste), although got some strange looks when I turned down champagne when ringing for a wedding a couple of weekends ago.

Does anyone have any good preggo-safe cold cures? I'm out of lemons, though will pop down town if I'm feeling better later (looking like a snowman, dressed in a zillion layers!). I've been on the herbal tea, and green tea and honey.. the aches and shivers are the worst thing (I always get colds quite bad), but hoping rest and sleep will sort those out.

musicalmrs · 18/10/2011 09:18

Oops, crossed posts! Glad she turned up Too, and that she's coming back later - hope she's on time ish for you.

Biscuitsandtea · 18/10/2011 09:21

Oh silly mw!!! At least she remembered - and she'll definitely remember her Doppler tomorrow! Smile I guess she would have had to go home for it anyway - surely she'd need it for her clinics?

Hope she turns up soon enough!

Hmm, can't think of any costume shops, and my sure I can cope with a trip into town for the pound shop things - am planning trips round toilets at the moment! (Day 4 in pants - for ds, I've been wearing pants a little longer Wink). Think we'll try Asda first and see how that goes.

On the potty training front though, how brave is this? DS wanted to wear pants to a party yesterday afternoon, so I let him, so we had DS, pants, first excursion, soft play, pregnant me not wanting to follow him round the soft play.... Talk about heart in mouth! But we did it and he successfully came and asked for the toilet twice so no accidents - I was quite proud of him Smile. Just need to work out these poo's now......

Biscuitsandtea · 18/10/2011 09:25

Sorry, meant not sure I could cope with town!

I am also looking forward to Halloween - and I've had a big tin of chocs staring at me for weeks waiting for trick or treaters Grin. I always buy something I like so I can finish up what isn't claimed by the kids SmileWink

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 18/10/2011 09:25

Musical, poor you! One day off in a year and a half is definitely allowed! I don't know any specific cold remedies, but you are allowed to take paracetamol in pregnancy. Would help with the aches and shivers.

dreamfeeder · 18/10/2011 10:31

just having a quick check, as puking well and DD restless and its raining. Leaving my dads today, boo!!! They've helped so much with looking after DD.

Glad all good so far too. Silly mw! still, she'll be back, just means you have to wait in for her, but I'm guessing a restful day at home was the plan anyway?

Asda is a good bet I reckon biscuits. Sounds like your ds is amazing with the potty training- my friend is having far less luck with her ds who's 3 in november...

Hope you feel better soon musical, I think paracetamol, plus lemon and honey in tea is your only option...

musicalmrs · 18/10/2011 11:33

I haven't yet bought my tin of chocolates Biscuits, but will do soon! I thought that having them around the house would prove too tempting :P

Thanks Too and dream. I'm on the paracetamol now... and my cotton wool-filled head is feeling a bit better as a result, so will head out and buy lemons soon.

So bored of being at home - struggling to sleep, and missing my kids at work. This is probably why I don't take days off sick very often :P

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 18/10/2011 13:20

Biscuits, that is brave with the no-pants soft play! Paid off, though - yay!

MW has just been - heartbeat all present and correct! She kept losing it because Bean was jumping, but she always found it again in a different place, so nothing to worry about. I am reassured by the fact that Bean was wriggling. It must be a good sign!

Biscuitsandtea · 18/10/2011 13:25

Yay Too - that's great! And you're feeling kicks already too Smile is the mw coming back tomorrow?

No kicks here yet Sad I think this is to do with my padding Sad

Imps7 · 18/10/2011 13:27

Arg, didn't realise there was a new thread! I thought you'd all been a bit quiet on the other one recently!

Just wanted to check out the new abode and make sure my glittery vom bucket and Segway are still reserved for me...

You're all looking fabulous with your bumps by the way!

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 18/10/2011 13:51

I can only feel the odd kick, and I'm never very positive that it was Bean and not me. I couldn't feel the wriggling - it was obvious because the heartbeat kept moving! Think it is also padding related

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 18/10/2011 16:25

The hospital just called and it's okay! It's not Down's! Or Edward's or Patau's. I am so so so excited and happy. I still have to wait for the rest of the results but I haven't any indicators for anything else so I'm not worried. Oooh, hurray! Grin Grin Grin Now must just stay lying down and not leap about with joy.

jenfraggle · 18/10/2011 16:30

Yay!!!

Biscuitsandtea · 18/10/2011 16:31

Oh yay!!!! That is awesome news too. And so glad they came back so quickly Grin

Now you keep resting! . Is the me coming back tomorrow again?

LoveInAColdGrave · 18/10/2011 16:35

Oh, Too, I could not be more pleased for you.

Wants3 · 18/10/2011 16:42

Baby news! Last night 1 hour 20 minsafter arriving at the hospital my sister gave birth to a lovely 8lb 5oz boy. They stayed on the ward overnight for observation due to meconium in the waters but all fine!

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 18/10/2011 16:44

Thank you all! Grin

The MW is calling me tomorrow to arrange the next appt - I called her to tell her the good news and she said she was in the shop welling up. I'm going to stay off work tomorrow and Mum's coming down to keep me company. She was dancing with joy too. She'll keep me pinned to the sofa! GrinGrinGrin

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 18/10/2011 16:45

Oh Wants, how lovely! Has he got a name yet?

Biscuitsandtea · 18/10/2011 16:52

Super news ^Wants* Smile.

And again super news Too - I'm so so pleased!

What great news! I am all smiley now!!

Wants3 · 18/10/2011 17:03

He is Oliver, a brother for her 2 girls.
Every midwife we saw over the last week said that 3rd baby's are notoriously akward when it comes to starting proper labour- at least I am now pre warned for when my time comes!
Lots of Grin for Too

scarletfingernail · 18/10/2011 17:51

BIG (((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) for dumbledore I am soooooooo happy for you. That is the best news I've heard in ages. Seriously. I know I don't know you, but I really have been thinking about you lots and was desperate for your happy outcome.

Congrats to Wants and your family on the safe arrival.

BartletForAmerica · 18/10/2011 18:12

musicalmrs · 18/10/2011 18:50

Too - Yay! So so happy for you :) I hope you're doing happy dances (while lying down and being as still as possible, naturally!). Glad your midwife is so lovely too.

Congratulations Wants to your sister - hope she's over the moon :) Glad all went swimmingly!

Imps, we look forward to yours and BabyImps' imminent arrival here :)

Feeling miles better after a day off, though still not completely back to normal. Bought lemons after lunch - honey and lemon is so wonderful! Spicy biryani for dinner to help kick it, yay!

pommedechocolat · 18/10/2011 18:54

Yay yay yay Too. Whoop whoop!!!
