JB felt this baybee move this morning. :)

Truffkin · 12/12/2011 10:57

I had an email about the gap sale this morning and am going to have a look this afternoon. I'm a sucker for their baby clothes so am prepared for a bit of a spree. Still, we can say it's 'first Christmas' presents, right?!

I bought L a little wooden train with carved letters for carriages to spell out his name.
It's his first Christmas present from us and although I had thought we wouldn't get him much as he won't have a clue, I appear to find it impossible not to buy cute stuff when I see it. Oops.

AlpinePony · 12/12/2011 11:16

I'm not "allowed" to buy clothes as presents.

I know what you mean, for all my "he doesn't need everything and I won't spoil him" he has mountains of "tat". :( I will have to rein it (and jb) in because I don't want to be raising a brat.

Someone please knock some sense into me, and remind me that putting my name on a virtual not piece of paper, is NOT going to have a direct effect on the outcome of this 'situation' . Can't bring myself to say p word yet. I think the timing of this is really hel

Itwasonastarrymole · 12/12/2011 22:29

Shoot, really didn't mean to post then! Hadn't edited or owt. .... helping me as I think it will be pretty hard to get early scan over Christmas, so will just have to wait. Last time I was diffed I was rampant for scannage, spent every minute thinking about it, and got in early due to pain on side and previous ectopic. This time it's crossed my mind to just never go for a scan at all, in fact not to tell anyone in the medical profession, and I'll just act surprised if anything baby shard appears in nine months. I mean, do we really need doctors? Hmm

Itwasonastarrymole · 12/12/2011 22:31

Sorry for that memenemmeme verbal vomit. There'll be more where that came from though, I can tell you Wink

KatAndKit · 13/12/2011 08:29

oi moley you know you can't jinx it! Wherever you write your name on the interwebs won't change anything. This time round I joined the Rastas at precisely 4 weeks diffed. Seemed a bit rash but didn't do any harm.

And get your scan sorted out. You know it makes sense. I would have thought after previous ectopic it would be routine to have an early scan every time. I can understand scan avoidance though. I've come to have a love/hate relationship with ultrasound. At the beginning I was desperate for scannage but hated the two days of blind panic before hand and was almost sick with fear in the waiting room. But, it does make you feel soooo much better when you have seen that all is well.

Adding to KitKat's admonishment, I'm slapping Moley round the chops with a wet haddock. You know that nothing you do or don't do (alright, knocking the crack habit on the head won't do either of you any harm Wink) will have am impact on the outcome of this p word. As such and given that you can't get in for scannage yet, I'm going to implore you to try to enjoy being diffed over the festive season. As you will be missing out on the mulled wine / cider and Baileys drinkathon, you need something else to fill the gap Grin

Thanks for festive treats Bugs but as I'm not a fan of mince pies, can I proffer these mini yule logs instead?

KatAndKit · 13/12/2011 18:13

Right, about this baybee moving thing. I can feel that my uterus goes up an inch above my belly button. But what I am assuming is baybee moving flutter stuff is only happening very very low down, just above the muffline. Is this normal? Does the MiniKit not like the rest of his habitat??

Who is starting the new Fred then? I think we have all the information we were trying to gather, or most of it anyway.

Kat IIRC the first movements I felt were quite low down. I think you feel movements from their feet first as they are stronger and then hands come a bit later, when they are bigger and stronger. My baybee was lying sideways for ages and would do a whole body stretch so both sides of my bump would feel pushed out. Also later when they are head down, you should feel more at the top / side of your bump where the feet are.

I now know that my baybee is quite long, which may account for my feeling that he was trying to escape by pushing through my ribs in the last few weeks Grin

IveBeenExpectingYou · 14/12/2011 21:02

Thank you, Dee for spotting my mistake. Thankfully, I do not have a time-travelling baybee in there.

I spent most of today at th'ospital due to waters leaking from fanjo. All checked now and all is fine, but it did give me the willies (which is not really my thing anyway Xmas Wink). Apparently the baby's sac (jute bag in my case) will heal itself and hopefully it won't happen again...

Mole, it's all gonna be fine, doncha know? It ain't possible to jinx anything in here - there's a speshul anti-jinxing forcefield around the fred. I created it with my best crystals and did a speshul hippy chant to protect us all [useful].

Sorry it's been tough, old girl.

Itwasonastarrymole · 14/12/2011 23:09

bugs we have been in pm contact, (not sure I have been much help, but I tried) Xmas Smile

I have been to second zumba class since I found out- have I salsa-ed my baybeee out?

BTW- Due date august 14th,stapling fanjo shut til then

AlpinePony · 15/12/2011 04:50

Yay for truffs and the yule logs - thank fuck for that. I thought these mince pie eaters had it in for me!

Can we hold off the new fred for just another day or two? It would be great if we could add islegirl to the list.

starry I hope you weren't carrying a cake as you shimmied. :(

kat My baybee is now at the uncomfortable and painful stage of kicking, although thankfully not everyone seems to get this. But lucky me, I get actual pain and this little monster is currently transverse, which, as truffs says - means you get attacked from all sides. Hmm

OP posts:
KatAndKit · 15/12/2011 06:35

Morning all!
Differs insomnia has me up ridiculously early once again. Posting in between a bit of fantasy internet shopping. Me and the MrKat had been discussing what we need to buy for the baybee last night. Was a total OMG it's an actual real baybee moment which was actually rather nice. We then moved on to how he is going to be a total genius, speaking three languages and writing a novella shortly after birth, at which point the MiniKit protested vigorously by booting me in the cervical region.

So my task for today, seeing as I have no gainful employment, is to look up what we need and how much all this paraphernalia is going to cost us! Akshully I have been secretly doing this for two months anyway.....

Tonight I have a lovely trip to the hospital. 7 to bloody 9 pm. Is some sort of antenatal physiotherapy group session. No actual physio on my person will take place but apparently it will help me get through the next months without being unable to move. I am not sure how useful this will be. The man on the phone said to bring the Mr so I hope it doesn't end up being a wasted journey for him.

Am on tenterhooks waiting for the news about islegirls adoption and I don't even know her! But the whole story sounds so exciting and it is lovely to see someone at the end of a very long road to getting their baybee.

BarbiesBeaver · 15/12/2011 11:55

Just go with whatever makes you feel best I reckon. It is good to get into the system of NHS as it can take a while for scans/appointments etc. but if you need a little while to get your head around stuff then i don't think that's going to hurt.

I'm very cheered by Islegrins fantastic news too - I remember her from old school stalking of BESH threads.

I remember first movements feeling like flicks from inside and low down, only a couple each day, but that progressed over the weeks.

Had a massive pukeage today. I am so looking forward to eating and drinking normally again. Although I did manage to swim 22 lengths yesterday .

KatAndKit · 16/12/2011 08:46

Sorry about the pukeage barbie but well done with the swimming. Hope the pukeage has gone away today.

moley how are you doing? I'm sure the menkul is in full force! Thinking positive thoughts for you

so pleased that all has worked out for islegrin and she has her new baybee boy. I don't even "know" her as she is an ESH of before my time, but what a lovely story. So, pone with that in mind, would you like to celebrate by starting the new list, with hers as the most recent lovely baybee?

The antenatal physio session was interesting. I did like her solution to many of my problems. "it hurts when I...(insert tedious chore)" "well get him to do it then". Result! She did seem a bit obsessed with the doggy style position, and teaching the menfolk how to administer buttock massage was a bit weird.

rockingaroundtheXmasleaf · 16/12/2011 14:36

Hello. I hope all you differs are well?

I have just had a wee catch up and wanted to post this for starryeyedmole Sorry probably NOT helpful. Sorry I missed out on the nekkid jiggling to celebrate your win, my dear. Have a quick flash of the old buzzwams as compensation.

Can't believe how far up the not list I am. The last six months have been a blur of sleepless night, snuffling and sore nips. Ah, you have it all to look forward to, you lucky girls!

Itwasonastarrymole · 18/12/2011 22:02

Just tried to copy the not list but failed miserably- can you just add me when you do it and not make me do it myself Pleeeeeease? Also, may change tag to something like; has discovered her nausea can be managed by permanantly eating and is kind of regretting the recent scales purchase. Speaking of which, man, I feel sick. Grin Doesn't help that BBB has been painting this weekend, and the house stinks.

Have sort of made a decision not to go for scan before Christmas- going to concentrate on luffley day and though I know it would be million times better if all went ok, opposite also true, so going to swim in that there Nile til then. Only thing is, I really think I'm going to have to fess up to my sis who we're having the weekend with, as two nights including christmas day of not drinking would be so radically out of character that I don't think I can fob her off with I'm on antibiotics, or I'm saving the calories.

Had really horrid pain yesterday , but in my new more mature guise I consoled myself that it was the side with no tube, so unlikely to be ectopic. After an hour on sofa with hot water bottle and groaning, I got up and farted. Hey presto, pain gone. Blush gotta love the differ's breeze!

BarbiesBeaver · 19/12/2011 10:54

Well done moley on taming the mental - not easily done at your stage. I think that your plan is good to keep in De Nile over Christmas and just enjoy it. Oh and stay off those scales!

Still waiting here - have got my pineapple at the ready and have been eating curry and walking miles to try to get things moving. I'm terrified that I will have to be induced and will be strapped to horrible machines in a hospitally environment starting loads of interventions. Think I need slapping with a fish and to man up!

Medee · 19/12/2011 11:48

B- while induction was not my first choice, once I wrestled a semblance of control from the medical staff about when it happened, I felt a lot better and it really wasn't as bad as I thought. that said, stop worrying, it's far too early for that!

Truffkin · 19/12/2011 19:35

Am sending labour vibes your way Barbie but also hoping that if induction becomes necessary, it goes well and results in a nice easy sneeze for you!

I can't actually believe that it's Christmas Day on Sunday. I feel the least festive I ever have at this point in proceedings as have had so much other stuff going on. Still, we're getting settled in the new house now and I've put the tree up today. TGB is out tomorrow night, so am hoping to wrap some presents and get into the spirit of things.
