Thanks for all your nappy input - Flip you are a nappygenius. I think I'll def go down the 'real' road and I've found a real nappy project here that lets you try before you buy so I'll get in touch with them :o

NFC jealous that you can exercise I still have the sick/tired/sore boob malarky going on so as long as you stick to gentle stuff it should only be good.

I'm looking forward to buggy testing but wanted more of a bump so they don't think I'm some weird woman who just likes prams.

Chulita · 14/10/2011 13:56

Just to say that while I love Bumgenius, neither of my two ever had solid enough poos for the Flip, I had 4 of them but they leaked. They had great resale value though so I didn't lose out. I also have Itti Bitti in medium cos they're sooooo soft, a couple of fuzzi bunz and fluffles/ella's house for night time with motherease wraps - I find BG don't last the night too well. A few others sneaked into the stash too simply because the patterns were too cute to ignore Blush

I also am jealous of anyone who can exercise, I find a 1/2 mile walk makes me throw up and need bed immediately. I wonder if I might be anaemic.

Buggy shopping is a right maze, hard to know what you need til you've bought the wrong one!

NotFromConcentrate · 14/10/2011 15:24

Afternoon all! Grin

Thanks for all the gym advice! It's a circuit with various machines, so will see how I feel by Monday and try to find the time to go along and try a few of the more gentle options. There are some pieces of equipment that are automatically out of bounds now I'm pregnant... soon the changing room will be the only safe place!!!!

I agree with Chulita re: prams being mostly trial and error, hence the reason DS1 had 4! Blush

Today I am mostly celebrating finally finding a pair of maternity jeans long enough for me to get back into my heels. It's the little things...

NotFromConcentrate · 14/10/2011 15:25

(Oh, and I was a massive Tots Bots fan but I am utterly useless not particularly organised so defaulted back to disposables. )

Chulita · 14/10/2011 15:41

Envy of nfc's long legs, I've yet to find a pair of maternity trousers short enough for me. DH would love me to wear heels but I've not got the wardrobe for them!

NotFromConcentrate · 14/10/2011 18:29

Chulita, I'm only 5'8" but my legs are completely out of proportion with my little short body! Blush I normally wear long length, but Next's matrnity jean appear shorter then their standard range, so I got my hands on some extra long ones today! I love my heels, and ive felt really odd without them lately!

knitterati · 14/10/2011 18:43

I normally struggle to find nice fitting jeans, but when I tried on the first dotty P's maternity jeans, it was love at first elasticated waist! Grin. Maybe they do different lengths?

On the big pram debate... I have found a friend that is selling their 4yr old bugaboo chameleon! What luck! They've offered us a better price than eBay and will know where it's been (tho haven't seen it yet). Between that and the rave reviews it has got on MN, I think it will be a much easier choice than first anticipated! All the parents I've spoke to have said to go 2nd hand on as much as possible (with the exception of car seats & mattresses), so it looks like we may well be lucky! Just need to convict DH that 2nd hand will do just fine for our PFB.

On another note DH has been really annoying me lately. Angry He's saying it's me being grumpy with the pregnancy hormones. AngryAngry. That just makes me feel patronised and more Angry
Anybody else's DH really peeing them off? Could it be hormones or just DH being a plonker?!

Now on count down to maternity leave. Can't wait to get away from plonker boss.

Thank goodness it's the weekend ladies!

ILoveMyDragon · 14/10/2011 22:32

NFC Totally feeling your length pain!!! I bought 2 pairs of trousers the other day and they are both actually too short but I'm used to it by now so just pull them down a bit - ahhh the beauty of the elasticated waist!!!!!

DH has been flitting between being annoying and lovely - altho he almost doesn't want to admit I'm pregnant but its very difficult for him (long story, not important) so he gets away with it! Although just had my birthday and he did spoil me royally so he has a big let off!!!

ARGH!!! Hope its none of you lot continually outbidding me for a DreamGenii on Ebay grrrrr.

Showed my Mum the bouncer I want earlier and she said she didn't think that £40 was actually too expensive so maybe I will get what I want in the end :o:o

So I started a thread about the buggy i am looking at and have had one response which quite frankly is crap and useless so I'm still at square one, maybe I will have to change my mind but baby show in a month should shed at least some light on possibilities!

Hope all are well - feeling a bit bumpier and the over bump waist band on my jeans is certainly gettin a lil tighter! Still no movement tho :(

ILoveMyDragon · 14/10/2011 22:45

Seriously?!?! Are all pregnancy pillows designed for single people? Or do they actually expect you to kick DP out of bed for 9 months?!?!

Sorry rant over

stuffthenonsense · 15/10/2011 06:33

Knitterati i am finding DH really annoying too....but then he does something lovely and its hard to stay too cross....eg, he snores and So he has spent the last 2 months sleeping on the sofa.....i have a pregnancy pillow one side and a full length body pillow (occasionally exchanged for a toddler), the other.
As for jeans, i am 5'3 and had to hem Next jeans by 10cm
I feel like my bump has nearly doubled this week....i wonder if its coincidental that this happens when DD4 has not woken in the night until after 4.30 THREE times this week....she is spoiling me.SANTA and CHEESE how are you both doing? Hoping all is well.

SantaLucia · 15/10/2011 11:07

Ah the joy of maternity jeans. I have mamas papas ones and they do seem shorter than normal jeans but that is fine because I lost my ability to walk in heels a few years ago - keep wearing those heels ladies, once you lose the knack its really hard to go back!!! So I mostly tuck my jeans into boots or wear with ballet flats.

ILoveMyDragon - I too have been outbid for at least 4 Dreamgeniis on Ebay now. Its sooooo annoying. Think I may just bite the bullet and get myself a nice new one with a pretty cover. At least I know I can sell it on Ebay once I'm finished with it. I'm holding off buying anything just now until we have the scan result though.

Still waiting to see how the baby is doing. This feels like the longest week ever. The normal pregnancy paranoia has increased tenfold and I'm constantly obsessing over whether I can feel movement, whether the fact that the bump is bigger is a good sign or is not a sign of anything. Its horrible. I even resorted to using DH's stethoscope last night to see if I could hear it kicking and moving about. I've never been a worrier before so all this is new to me.

I guess whether we have this baby or not life will be lovely and I am thankful for that. Having DC1 to amuse me really helps. Also - trying really hard to see positive side of not having baby - my due date was at a really tricky time for my husband's job and we may need to move city around that time depending on where his job takes him so it wasn't ideal timing (but when is it?!!)

Still keeping everything crossed!

CheeseandGherkins · 15/10/2011 21:36

santa thinking of you, when is your appointment? I have my anomaly scan in 2 weeks (just under now) and I'm very anxious about it. I'm the same about movements too, I notice a lot when I feel nothing but then the kicking starts up again. Feeling quite a lot now. Really hoping that your baby will be ok. I bought one of those pillows last time and I'm using it again now, definitely recommended. I got it from John Lewis in the end as i couldn't wait. (far too impatient) x

I'm 5ft 3 too and I don't really have a length problem, I'm wearing next ones that I bought previously and I think some from New look, had to try lots of shops though to find ones I liked. I'm not keen on over the bump ones but I have one pair that fit well. I love the elasticated waist bands too!

flip I'm definitely going to get a newborn insert too (assuming all goes well, can't help saying that), I have a camel coloured ergo.

CheeseandGherkins · 15/10/2011 21:36

18 weeks today :)

knitterati · 16/10/2011 15:14

Hey, for the ebayers, there are free snipe websites that you can use to set your limit & it will put the bids in for you up to your limit right before the auction closes. A colleague recommended it to me and it worked a treat the first (and only time I used it). I know some people don't see it in the spirit of eBay, but it sounds like that's how you're getting outbid.

Pleased I'm not the only one with DH being annoying! He seems to have got it out of his system now & being a delight!

Was sick this morning Sad I thought I had said goodbye to all that a few wks ago!!

On the bright side, SIL had a little girl this morning, so can't wait to visit & get broody!

ILoveMyDragon · 16/10/2011 18:34

Congrats to your SIL Knitterati !!!!

I've found a new pillow, a theraline plushy moon which is half the price of the Dream Genii and looks more like what I want!

Saw someone I know out today and she was gushing at how my bump was coming along nicely (not seen her since I went public) and felt what I'm pretty sure is movement today!! Feeling a lot more positive!!

Flip - well remembered - its my DD's 4th birthday on Tuesday and we are having a party on Saturday (its half term this week in Scotland). Looking forward to it all and, to be honest, its a good distraction. Will be cake baking with her on Tuesday morning (although she will probably just decorate it in an "inspired by Versace" extravagant way - glitter and pink icing flowers everywhere!)

Cheese - my scan is on Wednesday afternoon. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for yours in a few weeks. The movement sounds promising but it must be impossible to relax and enjoy this without thinking "if all goes well". My friend lost her first daughter at 39 weeks and I remember how difficult she found her second pregnancy (which was successful).

Have now planned a trip to Paris in the spring with DH as a consolation if the scan brings bad news. Not quite the same as a baby but definitely something that you can't do with a newborn...Trying to have a positive focus for the bad news.

Don't think I mentioned the pram choice thing last time. I started off with a Bebe Confort Loola which was fab because I lived up 3 flights of stairs and had no car, hence it was useful to have a removable carrycot for taking the baby upstairs. It was tricky to steer with one hand though - not great for coffee drinking/mobile phone using while walking in the park. So, when DD was 1 we got the bugaboo bee (without carry cot). I loved it as I love parent facing buggies. Plus it is so narrow that I could fit into everywhere a Maclaren fit into. Basket was good too. Once DD had become only an occasional buggy user, around aged 2.5, (and I had a car) I got an old maclaren from a neighbour and just used that. It was ideal for keeping in the car, taking on hols etc.

Friends with Bugaboo Chameleons absolutely rave about them. I think they are a great choice if you want to splash out! I certainly wouldn't turn one down!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

NotFromConcentrate · 17/10/2011 11:35

Morning all!

I am back in bed working from home today thanks to DS1 getting up for the day at 4.40am, and the baby doing the Party Rock Shuffle until my alarm went off at 7!!

Santa I'm in Scotland too, whereabouts are you? (if you don't mind me asking!)

Can't believe I'm 19 weeks tomorrow! Soon I'll be starting to wish time would stop flying by so I can enjoy my Definitely Last Pregnancy!!! Anomaly scan next Wednesday, a bit nervous but also excited at (hopefully) being proven correct that it's a boy finding out what we're having Grin

Fivesoontobesix · 17/10/2011 11:47

Morning, still suffering here, although the little ones are much better thankfully.
On the subject of pillows, I had a dream genii last time, and i've just got a theraline original which, although i've not tried yet, feels great!
Hope everyone with scans coming up have a lovely experience.
I know how it feels to have a problem, high risk pregnancy and how stressful it can be, and I found it quite hard to be able to relate to all those around me at a similar stage who were excited about all those things that you do naturally get excited about when your pregnant, when all I could think about was that there was possibly something wrong with my baby.Sad
So heres wishing everyone relaxing happy vibes for the coming weeks.[hsmile]

Norfolkbumpkin · 17/10/2011 13:17

Morning all, hope everyone is feeling well.
I announced my good news to my boss last Friday, the news went down as well as can be expected considering I have only been working there for 7 months. I do feel better now that it is out in the open at work as I have been finding it really hard to disguise my expanding tummy, especially as it seems to grow in the afternoons! I have my anomaly scan tomorrow morning, am slightly nervous and hoping that everything is o.k. Having had 2 mc previous to this pg I am really chuffed to get this far. We don't want to know the sex of the baby, so I am hoping that the 'important bits' will be hidden from view. Good luck to any others with scans coming up, it's an exciting/nervewracking time..........

Norfolkbumpkin · 17/10/2011 13:18

Oh, forgot to add I'm 19+3 today. Wohoo!

ShaggingProducesResults · 17/10/2011 13:48

WooooHooooo Norfolkbumpkin! It must feel fantastic to get this far and fingers crossed for a lovely, problem free scan tomorrow morning.

Mine is on Friday morning and I'm already getting excited about it. Not really nervous at the moment but guess I will be the day before.

Alo can't believe that I am almost half way! It seems to take forever to get to 12 weeks but the last 7 have absolutely flown by.

ILoveMyDragon · 17/10/2011 17:18

Can't wait for my pillow to arrive had bed to myself last night and both hips were giving me trouble all night!

Fingers crossed for all scans everywhere [hgrin]
