I have always been a side sleeper but I keep waking up on my back, I asked my MW and she said basically the same, sleep however you can I am currently in the process of tryin not to be outbid for a dreamgenii on ebay which will hopefully help!!

babydust27 · 09/10/2011 08:35

Ive just been out with my boyfriends mum and ordered our pushchair :)

stuffthenonsense · 09/10/2011 10:16

Wow babydust that is exciting. I have bought a blanket, thats all. I have set christmas as my deadline for getting everything though as i know from experience by christmas i will be so huge i wont want to go into busy shops etc as elbows in stretched bellies is blo0dy painful and my SPD will mean i wont walk far. Still, i dont need to get too much, a new cot mattress, a toddler seat and carrycot liner for the pram, a carseat and some clothes maybe.
Oh and a new car, my fabia is just big enough for me+4 (we take 2 cars on rare occasions its everyone) but with an extra baby and bigger pram there is no chance, we are looking at the 7 seater seat alhambra.

ILoveMyDragon · 09/10/2011 12:12

Totally jealous baby!!! I have my eye on one but struggling to find any reviews for it :-s I want the Hauck shopper 11 trio - the only reviews I have found have been on sites where its been bought from and they are generally written about the site or the day the item arrives not 6 months down the line when it breaks! There aren't any on here for it either :-s anyone know anyhting? I did do a search but not much came up for that model only other models which seem to either brilliant or rubbish!! UGH! Am going to a baby show 13th november tho to try and test run some goodies so hopefully will be able to decide then!

This weekend was my weekend of sortin the nursery so I can actually put some stuff in it! But my back has decided it has better plans for me! PIL coming round soon tho so gotta do some kind of housework :-s

KittyRogue · 09/10/2011 18:37

I hope you find a review soon ILMD, I have gone for a Bugaboo cameleon which I bought off a friend! It's third hand but looks amazing!! So happy with it! We brought it home this weekend as they live 3 hours away and we had to sleep in their living room on the floor so thought it best to get it before I'm too big!

16 week check up went well, listened to heartbeat and had a nice natter to the midwife. No definite kicks yet, lots of stuff going on in my tummy but nothing that I'm certain is baby!!

babydust27 · 09/10/2011 19:30

Dragon have you posted on the mumsnet pram discussion board? Thats where i found some information and reviews out about our one.

We have gone for the Mothercare MYchoice 4 as it compacts really well for the car, fits maxi cosi car seats and comes with everything you need.

Mothercare have a price match policy in their stores now and they will match any online price for products they sell, all you need to do is show them on a smart phone the website with the offers on and they will sell it at that price. We used it for the carseat as its £90 on amazon but £125 in mothercare. Worth looking at if you have some branded things to buy

20 week scan in 8 days time!!

stuffthenonsense · 09/10/2011 20:31

babydust what date is that? i am having mine on the 18th

babydust27 · 09/10/2011 20:46

Mine is on the 17th at 830, does anyone know if we need a full bladder for this one?

babydust27 · 09/10/2011 20:47

ZhenXiang · 09/10/2011 22:20

I didn't need a full bladder for mine, in fact got told to empty it as it was too full and baby wouldn't turn for them to see the spine.

NotFromConcentrate · 10/10/2011 10:17

Morning everyone!

Oh, so exciting reading about all the shopping for baby things! I just ordered a new bumper bar for the seat attachment which goes on my First Wheels. Won't need the seat for a while, but figured I'd order it while I could still get it! Feel like I've got loads to buy! We have our pram, crib, car seat, bouncy chair and baby beanbag (best thing ever!), but I need to replace bedding, mattresses and blankets, and also buy clothes, bibs, cosy toes and all that malarky I ventured into the attic looking for baby clothes yesterday - won't be doing that again before baby comes - and couldn't believe how much of it was blue as opposed to neutral! All I've bought so far is a bath support and a beautiful little all-in-one from M&P.

Shagging work sounds a nightmare. Hope the letter goes down well and forces some answers out of them.

If I press on my bump, I can feel baby's little kicks from outside Grin DH hasn't had any luck yet though, baby is still so tiny the movements are difficult to predict!

Have a great Monday (is that an oxymoron?!) everyone x

17+6

ShaggingProducesResults · 10/10/2011 11:32

Hi NFC - DH is drafting my letter as we speak so hopefully they either give me back my job or pay me out to go quietly. I'd prefer the latter Wink but TBH either will do now!!

I can't wait to start buying big stuff for LO. So far I've bought 2 romper suits and that is it! We've decided on our pram and I have put in an order at John Lewis for the limited edition colour pack we want but other than that we've not really done anything.

Think after the 20 week scan we can start doing a bit more shopping/preparation etc.

ShaggingProducesResults · 10/10/2011 11:33

Forgot to add my info

18+2 today
I may start pressing my bump too to see if he/she pushes back!

NotFromConcentrate · 10/10/2011 12:40

Fingers crossed then Shagging. I'm seeing my solocitor tomorrow inthe hope we too can convince them to just pay me to go!

Limited edition colour pack sounds interesting... Do tell!

I'm not sure if pressing my tummy causes the kicks, or if he was kicking anyway IYSWIM. It's nice to feel it from the outside though, makes it feel a bit more real :)

Norfolkbumpkin · 10/10/2011 12:51

I know what you mean about the comfort of feeling movements from the outside, I have been able to feel them very slightly for the past 3 or 4 days (I am 18+3), but am looking forward to the 20 week scan next week to confirm that all is well and that I can really relax and enjoy being pg.

This week is going to be a nervy one for me, I have worked for my employer for 7 months and have been putting off making an announcement until now. I can't hide my growing bump any longer, so feel that this week will be when i spill the beans. I intend to tell my manager on Thursday this week when she returns from holiday. I am so nervous as I haven't been here long and it is a very small company with just 4 of us in the office including the manager. I have the next two days off so will try not to panic and practice my spiel.......

ShaggingProducesResults · 10/10/2011 13:17

Try not to worry Norfolkbumpkin. Just smile lots and they will find it hard to be negative to your face!!

NFC fingers crossed for both of us on the payout front. Wouldn't that be lovely?!?!

This is the limited edition Missoni Bugaboo, which I loved as DH and I could not agree on a colour and this solves that issue!!!!

It also comes with a lovely stripey blanket which may or may not be used for DC......

FlipFantasia · 10/10/2011 13:57

Shagging what a totally gorgeous print! Love the multi colours. Hope the letter produces the desired result.

NFC also hope the meeting with your solicitor gives you the ammo you need.

I have a meeting with my manager and the director tomorrow and neither will tell me what it's about (asked in person and via email and just got [shifty] responses). Makes me feel nervous...

So it's lovely to hear of people buying baby things Smile as a work distraction. We'll mainly just be buying new mattress/linens as we've got loads of stuff from DS (though bet I'll also be surprised at how much of it is boy specific despite me trying to stick to neutral stuff!). This time I don't think I'll bother with our massive mountain buggy pram my sister gave us last time and just use the sling for the baby (and then the maclaren when he/she is old enough as hopefully DS will be happy to mostly walk then). I honestly felt like I was off to invade a small country whenever I was out and about with it last time, so tank-like is it! Though will perhaps use it as a moses basket...

I also really want to get a tummy tub this time - happily used a bath support and baby bath last time but just love the idea of the tummy tub!

I'd love to knit a chunky cardigan to take the baby home in - anyone a knitter (knitterati I'm looking at you!) and if so anyone got any recommendations?

NotFromConcentrate · 10/10/2011 14:19

Oh Shagging I love that pram! Damn my current one to hell for still being in great condition!

Flip I found our chunky knit White cardis yesterday... They're only from Next not hand-knitted though!

ShaggingProducesResults · 10/10/2011 16:02

I've never seen a tummy tub before but they look fab! Might have to look into one of those :)

Just been called into yet another meeting about my job (the 5th in 3 weeks!!) and just told them that I'd escaleted things to the MD and that I want to take it up with him rather than have pointless meetings with no conclusions.

Will ahve to wait and see how quickly I get a response to my letter!!!

Flip hope that your meeting goes well too. It's strange how many of us are having work/HR issues in pregnancy isn't it? Actually quite worrying that there is such a bad attitude to pregnant women in our workplaces!

knitterati · 10/10/2011 19:43

Ooh! Thanks for sharing all these good links to lovely things! I must admit, I haven't bought anything for the baby yet. I thought once I start maternity leave in mid December, I'll then go on a spending spree! (might even wait for the January sales). My mum in the other hand has been busy buying all sorts! ... Starting to feel guilty and very underprepared right now! Eeek!

flip: I'll get my thinking hat on for a pattern for you - ravellry might be a good place to start - it's like a Facebook for knitters/patterns. I haven't knitted anything for the LO yet either worried face. I'm not a quick knitter and I'm determined to finish off a beautiful cable knit cushion by millamia by Xmas - it will have taken me a year by then!!
Btw: millamia have some beautiful patterns, but be warned that unless you're a quick knitter, it may take some time on 3.25m needles!

Hope all the bumps are progressing nicely Smile

FlipFantasia · 10/10/2011 20:55

Knitterati oh my, millamia has just gorgeous patterns! Thank you for mentioning them - I foresee me purchasing at least one of their pattern books (probably bright young things) and then DH fainting when I tell him how much I've spent on wool Grin. Shall have a browse around ravelry just now...and no need to feel guilty and underprepared btw! You have heaps of time to get ready for baby's arrival - especially with such a long maternity leave. Plenty of time for lovely shopping and nesting Grin

NFC I also have a white chunky knit cardy from Next - twas one of the first things I bought when pregnant with DS [fond memories emoticon] goes all gooey at prospect of dressing a newborn again

Strange question but has anybody else been having any unusually naughty dreams?!?!

I had one on Saturday morning where Jenson Button and I were having an affair and lots of insanely hot sex.............. Blush Was slightly gutted when I woke up!! Wink is pregnancy turning me into a perve? Or is it just because I'm really not in the mood at the moment and my dream self is having a bit of fun to make up for it?!?!

Please tell me I'm not the only one!!!

ILoveMyDragon · 10/10/2011 22:21

Hmph just wrote a small essay and it didn't post!!

I was dreaming a lot which is unusual for me but I seem to not be so much now....but I have read quite a bit about naughty dreams so doesn't surprise me!

Can't remember what was in my original essay sure it was highly informative and exciting tho we shall never know!!

I've fallen in love with this but to me it seems a bit pricey. I am notoriously tight so maybe I need to be a bit more realistic?

18+3 .....waiting for that movement......

knitterati · 11/10/2011 08:23

ILMD: that bouncer looks cute! Maybe you could ask for it as an Xmas present?

Shagging: Now that is my kinda dream! I love JB. I've been having a few naughty dreams, but don't normally remember any of the detail! Wouldn't mind a JB based dream though! Wink

knitterati · 11/10/2011 08:27

Oh and flip yes... The yarn is beautiful. I have a draw full of the stuff at home Blush. I'm turning into a yarn hoarder!
