Oeisha · 09/09/2011 10:56

Thank you Fish that's more like it! Grin Have popped in an order, will just wait and see if I like the stuff that comes/whether it fits or not. Bloody HATE clothes shopping...

redhead Sorry to hear about your crappy times. If only I liked dogs... Still no scan date... Confused. I'd be going bat-shit mental by now if I were you. And I mean in a controlled way at first and then in a not-so stable long-sleeved-white-jacket way...

Giraffe (((hugs))) Sorry to hear about your Dad. Offload all you like. 'tis what we're here for...I certianly do my fair share...so go for it.
But well done on the ebay bid. I keep popping on, but see nothing that will fit round my baps.

Just out of interest, what do the BHs feel like? My sonographer mentioned I was having an isolated one on the right-side on my scan. Only the last few days I can feel the whole shabang tensing up for about 20mins and then relaxing. No frequency in pattern, only happened a few times over the last week. No pain, just tension... Walking about makes them feel less [hmmm]....or am I just going mental?

Oeisha · 09/09/2011 10:58

*2-10 mins, not usually more than 4-5mins. Damn touchpad...

shonnomanom · 09/09/2011 11:06

fish Really like the 1st and 3rd boots. The 3rd would be good in the white weather. Just remember how hard it can be to bend over to fastening them in a few months time.

redhead and giraffe so sorry to hear your news. Life can be hard enough at times without growing a baby at the same time.
Red is there a DogsTrust near you? If you cant find a suitable home for her dog then I would consider them. They carefully vet any possible owners to make sure they and their home life is suitable for each dog. Also, DT pay the medical fees for dogs with pre-existing health condition, which makes it easier to rehome the dogs.

giraffe excellant bargain shopping!

oiesha have you looked at Peacocks for tops? The winter that I was expecting Dd I lived in jumpers with tshirts under. Got them in a bigger size.

Fryn · 09/09/2011 11:35

Hi ladies,

redhead and giraffe - gosh, life throws some awful things at you sometimes, doesn't it? I'm so sorry to hear about it for both of you. I hope you're both ok.

red - not good on dogs I'm afraid. We currently have 5 stinky hamsters, so I think that's enough for the moment. Big Angry about your scan. Mine's on Monday - come along and refuse to move until they see you.

giraffe - good work! I'm currently living in hand me downs from SiL and a colleague. Unfortunately SiL is a size 8, so a few of her clothes are too tight already, despite the elastication!

fish - great boots (especially the last option, which obviously have the, er, wipe clean advantage!) I desperately need new shoes/boots, I just hate buying them as I know they'll always rub for days before they get comfy. Must face the fear.

oiesha a/m colleague gave me some really nice Benetton (of all places) maternity tops with 3/4 length sleeves. They might be a couple of years old though, so not sure what their current range has.

I had the loveliest most relaxing time at yoga last night - and then ruined it by stopping at the garage on the way home and buying an enormous bag of onion rings! Oops. Tasted good though.

Nanny01 · 09/09/2011 11:54

Fish and giraffe I am so sorry you are going through all this. Getting bad news is never good but when your pregnant it always seems worst. Just wanted to send you hugs. I know people say money doesn't matter but it does and like you acutely aware of it when pregnant.

Girraffe just spend a as much time as you can with him. I am constantly reminded of the fact dh's dad won't see his 5th Grandchild but know he would be happy. We took lots of photos of him and the kids when he was alive and we hold onto those happy memories now. Don't think about the future focus on the here and now with him.

Bon prix- I ordered several things from them I kept a pair of jeans, coat and 4 tops the only thing stopping me getting more is that after the returns they haven't given my money back yet ( interestingly they were able to take it quickly). I found I had to order a size larger for trousers as I didn't want them to tight. The tops were fine in the current size found 2 that were only £4.50.

As for me just trying to cope with the new routine of the new school run which means I have to be up at 6.30. Poor ds1 had a stress indussed headache and was sick so hoping to day isn't as bad.

redheadbedhead · 09/09/2011 16:45

Fryn your scan is on Monday??? your EDD is later than mine as well!!! I am so furious. We are driving down there right now and demanding to get it sorted.

redheadbedhead · 09/09/2011 16:45

I am officially now batshit mental.

mummyzoe2012 · 09/09/2011 17:35

hiya all, sorry to hear the bad news.

ive just spent all day washing, ironing and hanging up baby girls clothes. my wadrobe is bursting and ive still got a pile of clothes to be put in there.

If any one is after coat hangers wilko sells them for 1.14 for 12 and they are a good quaility too.

redheadbedhead · 09/09/2011 18:11

went to hospital. ante-natal closed. saw a big sign that said 'Tell us what you think of this hospital, it only takes a minute!' Told the hospital what I thought of them.

batshit.

Oeisha · 09/09/2011 18:37

redhead (((hugs))). Don't blame you though. I'd def. be going there tomorrow and camping in the CEO's office 'til I'd had my scan.

So, my manager's pg with twins, and about 14wks, so sweet as she thought they'd never conceive. Nothing showing...everyone's now thinking I'm massive...but as I tried pointing out my baby's probably the same height as her's stacked at the moment! Not sure why I'm objecting to the comments to much. I know I'm all 'out front' rather than round and round (as all my 14s don't fit any more/are falling off my hips, just need them for the bump), but still...grr! I think a load of frustrating days have added together to make me want to go BSM and start stabbing people...(I get to play with some loverly knives at work).

mummyzoe What a nice day! Even though it did envolve washing...

fishandlilacs · 09/09/2011 20:17

redhead thats so poor. Have you a directors of midwives in the area? have you considered putting up a chat thread for some advice on how you get this resolved? ((Hugs))

Oeisha-I'm huge too, and I have lots of comments about it, I find it a bit rude too.

Oeisha · 09/09/2011 21:14

Yeah, maybe that's it. It also grating on me as I'm still (just) fitting in my pre pg 14s, so did they all think I was obviously fat before? (I was over weight, yes, I admit that, but still had curves) But it's not ok to tell a non-pg woman they're 'massive' but it IS ok to tell a pg woman? [humm]

Had a very sore tum the last couple of hours. I'm sure it's just ligaments again, though the jabby pain's a bit different, but my back's aching too. Probably just tired.

Re: clothes. So far bonprix and asda are winning the awards for not-too-frilly, not-too-expensive, more-than-one top, in an 18+ (gargh, damn it!). Loving all the advice to "just buy your pre-pg size". Excellent, that varies from a 14-24 depending on the store, material and cut - any other suggestions Wingusface??

Right, me and my rage (really, my mood's not that bad...honest) are going to go to bed. Driving lesson at 9 followed by a JL visit so DH can push about the iCandy and stare at car seats.

ParsleyLion1 · 09/09/2011 21:26

Hugs to giraffe and red - what a horrible week.

Had our scan this morning - all looks ok and we are in all the average zones. Have to go back again on 30th though as baby wouldn't stay still enough to get the final base spine shot in.

We are TEAM PINK - subject to the usual caviats but she said she got a fairly clear look.

shonnomanom · 09/09/2011 21:47

Congrats on your Team Pink Baby Parsley! Did you get a chance to speak to anyone about your pain?

There must be something in the water today, iv been rather short tempered today also.

Red that is absolutely rediculous the way you are being treated. Is the department open at the weekend? Why would it be closed on a friday? Im shaking my head in disgust at the hospital right now.

Dd fell today and I jumped to grab her before she hit the floor. Unfortunately Iv undone all the good work of the physio. All my aches and pains are back full swing and with that retchid trapped nerve as well BOOHISS

OP posts:
Oeisha · 09/09/2011 21:55

parsley Congrats on joining team pink!

shonnomon Oh no! Take it easy.

Trying to go to bed. One of my furrbabies is AWOL. Not going to be able to sleep 'til he's in. :(

ParsleyLion1 · 09/09/2011 22:32

Thanks shonno. I found a physio close to work that specialises in maternity issues but they are not open til Monday Luckily it seems to have calmed down a bit today and the advice in your leaflet seems to help a lot.

oeisha I hope your puddy comes in soon. I hate it when mine isn't where he should be Sad

ParsleyLion1 · 09/09/2011 22:36

Ps. Pants re the return of the pain shonno. I noticed at the hospital today they had specific pgp clinics and classes.

redheadbedhead · 10/09/2011 08:18

Thanks for all your hugs and support ladies!! I'm fine, just a bit angry and trying to stay calm for the baby!! I had a rant at a sonographer yesterday and he couldn't believe it either - he said 'you should have had a scan date with your 12wk date' which is exactly what Fryn said (she's at the same hospital)...

It's not open at the weekend, suprise, so we'll be showing up on Monday and trying to force something to happen. Fryn will look out for you! What time you in?

congrats Parsley on your pink baby Smile

sorry for all you ladies with hurty bits Sad

fishandlilacs · 10/09/2011 10:52

Congrats on the pink flavour parsley Hows our ratio?

Were thinking of writing to the local papers with our NCT group, out of the 8 couples we have a perfect ratio of 8 boys and 8 girls. Everyone who had a boy last time has gone on to have a girl and vice versa. I reckon thats pretty unusual.

I had the most fabulous sexy dream last night about a milkman, his skin was so soft :) The whole dream was made up of exploring the milk depot and then just lying next to him doing nothing, but it was strangely erotic none the less.

My funny brain.

I am feeling properly happy again today, god knows why I went so low this week, I was seriously paranoid and worrying about everything, i'm like a different person after a few good sleeps.

Were off to soft play with dd this morning, she's a hectic loony with energy to burn.

redheadbedhead · 10/09/2011 11:31

this week gets better and better.

someone ran over a cat in our road, then picked it up and dumped it in our front garden, then got one of our recycling boxes and put it over the top.

so now, the council won't get it until we bag it up ourselves, because it's in our property. AMAZING. Angry

poor cat and poor OH who had to do the bagging. Sad

ParsleyLion1 · 10/09/2011 12:53

and poor the owners who will search for it :( not nice at all red

On the stats I make it 8 pink 8 blue and 6 yellow.

shonnomanom · 10/09/2011 17:12

Here is the story of my worst Pregnancy Brain moment.

My mobile contract became eligible for 'early upgrade' this weekend. So during the week I ordered my new phone to collect in store today. Not a problem you would think.
Well. It turns out that I didnt order the new phone as an upgrade, I ordered it as a new contract.
Because I have taken the sim card out the box and put in the phone, like the guy in the shop me to on the believe it was an upgrade(in hindsight he shouldv bloddy checked), I have breached the conditions for a refund. So now Im facing having to pay 3months of the old contract upfront to cancel it or pay for both phones for the next three fucking months. None of which I can afford to do.
Think im on the verge of tears. Sad Sad Sad

Sorry rant over

OP posts:
Oeisha · 10/09/2011 18:29

redhead poor furbaby! Sad If you haven't dealt with his/her body, might be worth taking it to a vets. They can scan it for a chip (not all LAs have this and often just don't bother), and if there is one, give the family the bad news. Poor OH too.

Thankfully the 'Gitwizzard' (what he gets called when he's been naughty) eventually came home about erm...2300...little bugger. He 'escaped' when DH was letting in his brother (didn't think to use the door between, just assumed Bo-bar would be intelligent enough to realise that door open means he can come inside). They're not really allowed out after dark as we're semi-rural (on the edge of town) and we have what's used as a fast road, despite it being 30mph. More kitties are killed by cars between 2-6am than any other time.

shonno I wouldn't be taking that off them. OK, you purchased the wrong thing, but that was a mistake they should have spotted from your conversation with them (or didn't they bother to read what they were giving you???) Threaten to go elsewhere and I bet they'd find you some compramise...

fish loving your erotic dream. Do you have a milk-fettish otherwise? OR a 'thing' for milkmen? Hehehehehe....

Bellakins · 10/09/2011 18:34

Oh Redhead you're having an awful time of it at the moment! Hope things get better soon.

Shonno that's so annoying! Are you sure they won't fix it for you as a gesture of goodwill? I would be seething!

Things with me are ticking along. Find that time is starting to speed up, although I'm still feeling nauseous so working is a bit of a drag. Can't wait till I'm in the 3rd trimester as the end will finally be in sight!

Oeisha I remember a while ago you said you did the nursery appointment with John Lewis. Would you recommend it? I'm finding myself at a bit of a loss and don't know where to start. But I also don't want to be 'conned' into buying stuff for the baby that just isn't necessary!

Moobee · 10/09/2011 19:39

giraffe I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, don't worry bout offloading here at all. Nanny is right, just take time where possible to be with him.

redhead hope your luck improves soon, that all sounds dreadful!

shon that seems quite cheeky of the shop, is there not a 14 day cooling off period? I thought there was with phones. It's worth checking.

I've spent the day in London and my back and bump ache so much now. Does anyone else have a feeling like a bruise at the top of their bump?

I set off wearing normal tights which rolled down my bump and formed a roll around my thighs. It felt like my legs were spring loaded. I took them off after buying ankle socks, but with my boring flats, they looked like something you'd wear to school. Such a bad look. I now have maternity tights which should be better!
