Has the sickness abated?
Are our locks shiny and luscious?
Are our nails long and strong?
Are we back on form in the 'ahem' bedroom?

No? Well we soon will be ladies it's The second Trimester*

Ooooo thanks sugar80 you've made my day! Deep fried brie/camembert with cranberry sauce and salad here I come!

Not that I've been dreaming about it since I found out I was pregnant or anything Grin

Xavielli · 26/08/2011 08:17

I took my GCSE's 10 years ago now.. This isn't helping me get over my 'closer to 30' blues!

Bill - We looooove the Cotswold wildlife park! Have been there atleast once a year on bank holidays since I was a toddler and we take the kids. They've made some really great new exhibits recently too like the giraffe house and Madagascar walk through.

Innocent - post orgasm contraction sounds pretty normal to me! I find I can ignore it pretty well Grin. By the way that is very much what early braxton hicks feel like.

pinkhollie · 26/08/2011 08:34

Trying not to have a small heart attack that I could have taught innocent for her entire time at secondary school as I hate judging people on ages. I have friends that range from early twenties to well in their fifties and my maternal grandparents who are in their eighties are younger at heart than some people less than half their age. My grandad has an iPod and orders a skinny cinnamon latte when we meet for coffee. Grin

I found out about the cooked cheese situation just before we went to France my baked goats cheese salad was a highlight of the holiday!

phlossie · 26/08/2011 08:43

Post-orgasm 'braxton hicks' freaked me out a little bit too, innocent.

woowa I got woken up last night by my ds shouting 'boo!' at the top of his voice! I went to check on him, but he was fast asleep and had no memory of it this morning. Funny little chap.

I'm feeling loads better this morning, but a bit paranoid that my hardcore puking session was actually food poisoning and hurt the baby. I'd like to feel some reassuring kicks now please! I don't think pregnancy gets any less worrisome as the trimesters go on or as you have more babies!

I was wondering, if we all make a pact not to make negative remarks (ie, there was a bitch at school called X, or I hate that name!), have you got any names lined up? And what are they? We're all pretty anonymous, and we live all across the UK, so it wouldn't hurt to share, would it?!

15+5

Xavielli · 26/08/2011 08:55

I don't mind sharing names; we have absolutely no idea on boys names, Finn (DS2) was the only name we agreed on last time and no new inspiration has struck. So far we have Aoife or Niamh for a girl, both of which my bestfriend thinks are tantamount to child abuse LOL! Ah well, couldn't care less really! I love the name Seren for a girl and Malachy for a boy but the surname will be Docherty so both a complete no go!!

phlossie · 26/08/2011 09:13

Thanks Xavelli! Lovely names. We have Rufus and Betty (Beatrice), and like you we're totally stuck on boys names. Funnily enough, I like Finian, Fin for short! Also we both like Tabitha for a girl.

I just found a very funny childbirth predictor test here

My result was: The day you deliver, outside will be hazy. Your baby will arrive in the late afternoon. After a labor lasting approximately 8 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 11 pounds, 10 ounces, and will be 21 inches long. This child will have light green eyes and a lot of red hair.

11lbs 10oz? 21 inches long? Bloody hope not!

InnocentRedhead · 26/08/2011 10:27

The day you deliver, outside will be foggy. Your baby will arrive in the late evening. After a labor lasting approximately 25 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and will be 22 inches long. This child will have light green eyes and some blonde hair.

Well I can imagine it could be foggy - being February and all. 25 hours I definitely cannot take!!!!! A girl, I think it is a girl anyway... really am convinced, but we are waiting to find out, and not finding out at the scan. 7lb 7oz - good weight. 22inches!! - Me and DP rarely touch 22 inches ourselves!!! However I have a tall family! Yes it could have green eyes; i do, but if there is ANY blonde then there will be paternity questions :o haha, no-one in either mine or DPs family has any light tones in our hair!!

Re-assuring about the after orgasm contraction, it really worried me. I spoke to my cousin last night and she got then all the way through from 19 weeks so I don't think it at all unusual!

Name-wise we like Bella for a girl, all names that derive to it too. However I do not want to call my baby a name that is easily shortened and nicknamed, my view is we may well have put their nickname on the BC IYSWIM. We had loads of names for boys and i have suddenly taken a dislike to them :/ I love Betty by the way whoever suggested that one but DP hates it :( Malachy for a boy is lovely - but obviously not with Docherty. Tabitha is lovely but i wouldn't call them that because my name sounds so similar.

Xavielli · 26/08/2011 10:36

Haha!

The day you deliver, outside will be shiny. Your baby will arrive in the late night. After a labor lasting approximately 12 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and will be 19,19-1/2 inches long. This child will have light amber eyes and a lot of red hair.

My previous 3 labours combined don't reach 12 hours so I'm really hoping that's not true! And if the child has amber eyes I'd be worried as me and DP both have very light blue eyes.

Fun though!

InnocentRedhead · 26/08/2011 10:57

If you press back on your browser and submit it again the answers change, but spookily, i am always having a girl.... And all the other predictors say I am having a girl... To say i don't want to find out, i am doing all the predictors under the sun to see if there is any indication. Ohhh i dunno if i wanna find out now :/

InnocentRedhead · 26/08/2011 10:58

pressed too soon... This si one that I got so i bloody hope not

Your baby will weigh about 15 pounds, 4 ounces, and will be 17 inches long

I suppose one of the answers has to be right out of the 17 different predictions i have had on this site ha!

EsmeWeatherwax · 26/08/2011 12:17

Oh dear, apparently I am having an 11 lb 21 inch girl after a 10 hour labour. I could believe the size, mind, dh and I aren't exactly tiny, but I'm in for an elective section, so thankfully will not be taking part in the 10 hour labour experience!

louby86 · 26/08/2011 13:52

Oh dear! Apparently I will have a 9lb 10 little girl after a 44 hour labour wtf!!! A funny predictor though, I shall be directing my pregnant friends there!

On the subject of names, I keep arguing with DH. Not really found anything we love for a girl yet but for a boy I love Alfie, Noah and Jackson

littlemonkeybix · 26/08/2011 15:46

" The day you deliver, outside will be hot. Your baby will arrive in the evening. After a labor lasting approximately 18 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 10 pounds, 14 ounces, and will be 22-1/2 inches long. This child will have dark green eyes and curly red hair. "

Hot weather... I don't think so!! hahaha, and if I get a green eyed red head I will be surprised as there is none in either side of the family!

On another note, I had my consultant appointment today.... what a palaver. I "should never have been put" with him apparently. I had one, that was changed by grumpy MW at my booknig in appointment to this guy. He was nice and everything, but he's for people with a BMI of 40 plus. Mine does NOT reach that trigger! Still got a lecture about my weight though.

I waited for well over an hour to see this guy to be told he'll not see me again, one of the team will, because I shouldn't be with him. Then I asked for my baby pack.... we don't do those any more Sad I'm to find it online on their website.

So 1st PG going great!! I shouldn't have been so pleased I didn't get morning sickness... this is clearly my punishment! I am a panicker as it is... but now I am just feeling crap! Oh... and back at work this PM with a bottle of piss in my bag cos even though I was told I needed wee everytime I visit except for scans, he didn't want it!?

I give in!

QueenFee · 26/08/2011 15:47

Louby Alfie is my youngests name - I still love it. Talking of nicknames I put Alfie of the birth cert for this reason and now we often cqlk him Alfred or Alfredo in jest. My daughter is Cerys and son is Finlay. I hate when Cerys gets shortened to cer grrr! I don't mind Fin however!
I struggle with boys names. I like Gordon but lets just say it would be cruel with out surname staeting with b! We have talked about Micah or Alexander but struggling to agree. Still love the girls name we had for Alfie - Isla Kate partly named after our late grandmothers Isabella and Catherine.
Dh helpfully keeps coming up with girls names that we don't need but no boys names! We won't be finding out.

Had my consultant appointment today and he was really helpfull He explained why they monitor me closely because of hypothyroidism, its my 4th preg and no one has explained before. I have to see him again after anomoly scan and I may get extra growth scans (crosses fingers...)

Hospital is 25 mins away so takes a lot of time to go to a simple appointment.

Re hard bump after orgasm I get that, I also get it after excersize.

I read through the national statistics 100 for inspiration for names. I love welsh names but only pronounced in a welsh accent which as both dh and I are english discounts that! Had a good laugh when reading the welsh baby names book some very obscure unpronouncable names! However food for thought too.
Sorry to go on!

rnbsmum · 26/08/2011 17:20

QueenFee - we are also keen on Isla for a girl but I think are settled now on Iris Elizabeth - must be an "I" thing going on!

We're really struggling for boys, though we both like Adam. Quick question. Do you think that Adam is a name that should be for a first born/first son what with Adam being the first human and all that (allegedly! Wink)? If this is a boy he would be neither Grin. Mum and DH think I am seriously overthinking it!! We have a Rosalyn (Rosie) and a William (Billy).

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 26/08/2011 17:39

We are really going to struggle for names this time. We could only agree on a girls name last time, so it was lucky DD was a girl... We both love her name (Naomi), and because I love it so much I don't want to have a name this time that I think is just ok. But cannot find ANY that we both love! I've been really trying to bring my husband round to Brodie if it's a boy (we're Scottish, so not too weird here) but he's not having it. Sad we were also really keen on Adam, but a good friend has just had a wee boy called Adam, so not sure.

I'm really worried this baby is going tonend up nameless!

diedandgonetodevon · 26/08/2011 17:40

Oh, this is a good one... 13 pound baby anyone?! Lucky it will in all likelihood be an elective section.

The day you deliver, outside will be light. Your baby will arrive in the middle of the afternoon. After a labor lasting approximately 13 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 13 pounds, 14 ounces, and will be 18 inches long. This child will have light blue eyes and curly auburn hair.

PDog · 26/08/2011 18:58

Madame Zaritska, using her mystical powers, has the following prediction:

The day you deliver, outside will be stormy. Your baby will arrive in the early morning. After a labor lasting approximately 48 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 4 pounds, 1 ounces, and will be 21 inches long. This child will have medium violet eyes and curly blonde hair.

Sad really hope not, 4lb baby suggests prem. Not keen on the 48 hour labour either was only 30 with dd and that was counting from first contraction - only 6 from established labour. And what is with all these freakishly long babies? Hmm

Names - love Reuben for a boy but will be adding Rufus to the short list now, thanks phlossie. Really struggling for a girl this time. We both love dd's name (Abby) and there are special reasons we picked it. Have lots of names we like but nothing we love so know what you mean wicket.

EsmeWeatherwax · 26/08/2011 19:16

I'm having a major dilemma with girls names this time. I had my heart set on Willow, but the poor wee soul's initials would be w.c. so no. Am at a loss now!

Boys name will be Alexander or Thomas I think.

Sugar80 · 26/08/2011 19:18

I'm having a 48 hour labour apparently....!!!

Names... think a boy will be Thomas George after both our grandfathers, aka Tommy. Struggling a bit for a girl... probably Seren (it's okay, I have a lovely Newport accent to say it in!! lol!) but don't know what middle name. I like Seren Mae, but DP thinks May/ Mae/ Mai is a granny name :( Same for Seren Rose... otherwise she might be Xanthie. I was going to be Xanthie May, but parents changes their minds at the last minute!

Crazybit · 26/08/2011 19:32

Mines a 14lber apparantly, considering my biggest other child was 7,3 I very much doubt this!

Names, already have Leonie and Shannon, OH likes Ashton-I quite like it but not sure....I really like Hermoine for a girl but OH isn't sure.. x

phlossie · 26/08/2011 19:46

I love Hermione crazybit - it was nearly my name! But I think it might be too Harry Potter. It will go on our shortlist though.

pdog Reuben was on our list too, but I'm so chuffed with Rufus - it really suits our boy. I'm not sure I can think of a name as good for this one!

Good luck with the freakishly long babies, everyone!

babycarmen · 26/08/2011 20:07

Were waiting til the sexing scan to figure out names, When i was pregnant with DD we had Harley for a boy and no girl name, then Carmen Elise popped into my head after i gave birth and it stuck. DP likes Halle for a girl but im not sure, trying to put it off as long as possible tbh, i know il only change my mind. And DEFINITELY not telling anyone in rl our name when we decide as theres always one (my mother) who will moan.

Im feeling better in every way except by 7pm im ready for bed im so tired. Just glad im not being sick! I have my 16 week mw apt on wednesday (although il be 17) so that will be good, she said we could try for the heartbeat :) Getting loads of kicks, especially when im resting! Looking forward to this weekend - day of baking with DD tomorrow :)

babycarmen · 26/08/2011 20:08

Oh 16+4!

notcitrus · 26/08/2011 20:30

innocent - my dad and uncle actually were 14 and 15lb! I've seen the news clippings about biggest baby in the county...
Luckily ds was spot on the national average of 7.8 lb. :)

We have a girl's name that we had even before ds was conceived, but took us until I was 8 months to agree on Adam (MrNC made the mistake of trying to suggest we swap the first and middle names, shortly after I gave birth. I was very hormonal at him before reminding him we couldn't land the wee thing with the initials FAF, given MrNC is infamous for faffing...) So hoping for a girl so don't have to debate again - if it's a boy I'm tempted to call him after FIL and my dad but MrNC says that's a boring first name and a wierd second one.

My pelvis is feeling better, and some of my other joints too. Though I'm supposed to be doing two hours of physio a day to keep that way. Yeah right...
Touch wood, less tired than I have been. Just as well, I need to get into the office twice next week.
