Hi all! Thanks for the congrats! Over the moon to be joining you all on here! Smile I'll have to have a proper read through to catch up but in the meantime hope you are all well and bumps are growing nicely!

ghosteditor · 30/08/2011 21:42

welcome to the list peapop!

trope, we decided not to go to kiddicare yet - think I'll go when we've had a chance to save up to buy essentials and when I've had a proper think about what we'll need. I took DH to look at prams though as I'm driving myself nuts looking online at reviews and different brands. Current winner is the Bugaboo Bee because it's so light and maneuverable and folds so small, but it's so expensive and won't cope with any off-road stuff, which we're likely to want to do.

PiggyMad · 31/08/2011 10:30

Morning ladies!
Welcome and congratulations to peapop! You'll have to add yourself to the dd list when you're ready.

Hope everyone's well and that bun has managed to get her ring Grin Grin

I've won 3 ebay bundles so far Blush at least I won't need to buy anything at full price - although I'll probably not end up showing until the last month and then I'll just want to be in jogging bottoms! Nevermind, there's always the next one Wink

Davinaaddict · 31/08/2011 20:46

Bun - glad you've found a ring you love. The others are right - it doesn't matter where it comes from. It's a shame about not being able to show it off though.
I have to admit to being a bit Envy about you being able to fit in pre-pregnancy jeans! At 12 weeks I'm well and truly in my maternity wear now - no going back for me!!! Need to empty my wardrobes of all my skinny stuff so that a) I can find the stuff that actually fits and b) don't get too depressed because of all the things that don't fit! At least getting it down from the lift next year will be like having a whole new wardrobe again Grin

Trope - glad your DP is back safely. Hope you had a lovely time with your sister!

Piggy - yay for 3 bundles. You'll have to tell us what's in there when they turn up!

I'm doing ok but still getting over the virus I got last week so ended up in bed with a really bad headache at 3.30 yesterday Sad. But on the plus side I have my scan tomorrow so hopefully we'll get to see a little baby growing! I can't wait!

Hope you're all having a good week!

PiggyMad · 31/08/2011 21:32

Good luck for the scan davina - excited to hear about it! Are you having the NT test as well? I was in two minds about it, but decided to go for it anyway.
Hope you're feeling a bit better and the headache has eased.

Davinaaddict · 01/09/2011 07:44

Thanks Piggymad! Headache has now gone, to be replaced by completely irrational thoughts & worries of what we'll see in the scan Blush. I'm sure it will all be fine really & I'm just being a bit of a nutter, but part of me just wants to get it over with so I can stop worrying!

We decided against the NT scan as we don't believe it would change anything - and as it's not a guarantee, but an indicated risk, it may well cause us lots of unnecessary worry.

Will fill you in when I've been (my appointments at 1.45pm) Smile

trope · 01/09/2011 08:40

Oooh, good luck for the scan davina!

Davinaaddict · 01/09/2011 16:13

Well, we're FINALLY home - why do hospital apps always run so late?? Anyway, scan went well & I'm officially 12 weeks & 5 days! Time to stop the daft irrational thoughts now - WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!! We have a real jumpy bean in there - little tinker wouldn't keep still! Grin Completely the opposite to DS, so pretty convinced it's going to be a girl this time - but guess we'll find out in 6 months! I'll try post a photo of the blurry bean when I get on my laptop later Grin

PiggyMad · 01/09/2011 16:34

Fantastic davina!!!! Congratulations! You must be so excited!
Can't wait to see a pic! My scan is scheduled for 12wks 5 days so looking forward to seeing how much you can see.

Got two of my ebay maternity bundles through today - some lovely tops, a shirt, a fitted white cardi and some nice grey gap work-style trousers Grin Got another one due at the end of the week with another three tops and some black work trousers. Think I'm a bit over-prepared!

Am feeling a lot perkier today after a really groggy couple of days with a bad headache and nausea. Am wondering if it's too early to start wrapping xmas presents?!?! Have bought a few bits in the past couple of months and got my 'xmas bag' out today to see what I had and I'm really looking forward to wrapping presents and writing cards Blush Last baby-free Christmas - yay!!!!

Davinaaddict · 01/09/2011 21:36

Picture duly posted Grin

Glad you're feeling better Piggy. Lots of lovely clothes always helps I think - retail therapy can do wonders!

No it's not too early to start wrapping Xmas presents - I love Xmas but haven't had the time/energy to really enjoy it the last couple of years. Really hoping that changes, although I suspect not this year.... Enjoy!

Carlitawantsababy · 02/09/2011 08:16

Congratulations davina how exciting! I'm going for my scan this morning so FX!x

OP posts:
Davinaaddict · 02/09/2011 08:34

Good luck! Cant wait to see the pic! Grin Hope yours is less awkward than mine - little tinker would not stay still at all, so we kept having to have a break and try again Grin

PiggyMad · 02/09/2011 10:30

What a fab pic davina you can see the baby really clearly! How reassuring to have a wriggly one!

Good luck for your scan today carlita

Anyone using bio-oil - there's an offer on at Lloyds pharmacies - online too - it's half price. I've got some and am going to start using it today.

ghosteditor · 02/09/2011 11:07

[goes all smushy] - look at that wee bairn! congrats davina

I keep meaning to post a photo of the 20 week scan but the snapshots I took of the print out were rubbish - I need better light! Plus the sonographer apologised that she wasn't able to get good photographs as pamplemousse was in a really awkward position most of the time. I will get on it though!

piggy your posts re ebay prompted me to take a look at the ebay maternity bundles and they look pretty great! Have all the clothes been in good condition, then? [nosy]. I missed out on a good bundle of work clothes this morning as I'm not much of an ebayer and hadn't spotted that paypal was mandatory for the bid - I have an account, just hadn't linked it! Boo....

Carlitawantsababy · 02/09/2011 12:04

Hi All! All is well! Grin our little baby was wiggling around all over the place, lovely strong heartbeat! Smile I'm so happy, what an exciting, wonderful morning! DH welled up which was very cute, I didn't, I was just fascinated.
Davina I just had a look at your pic as on laptop, it's very clear! I can't work out how to post mine as don't know where my camera is, don't have a scanner etc., anyway, it's exactly the same as yours except that my uterus is banana shaped as my bladder is so full (sonographer sent me out to pee twice) and it's not quite as clear! Anyway, extra good news is that although I was very clear about being 11+0 today the sonographer said I need to be at least 11+2 for the NT scan and that the hospital keep booking people in too early, so, I get another scan on the 16th when I'll be 13+0! How good is that? I get to see my baby again! Grin Hooray I can start telling people now!

OP posts:
ghosteditor · 02/09/2011 12:07

That's exciting Carlita and great for you. Crazy that they keep booking people in too early when the maternity services in the NHS are overstretched, but most definitely not your problem!

PiggyMad · 03/09/2011 13:06

Hi ladies!

Had my early scan this morning - it was fab!! Grin All present and correct and hb 170bpm. She said I'm measuring 3 days ahead but I'm sticking to my calculations of spot on 8 weeks. Could see little head, body and feet! Will put up a pic later.

carlita congrats on your scan and lucky you getting an extra one too!

ghost I've had 3 maternity bundles from ebay and have spent, including postage and packaging, just under £40. I have to say that for that amount I've managed to get 2 pairs of work trousers - one grey pair and one black pair, one cardi, 3 shirts and about 9 different tops. I'm really impressed - everything has been in good condition, although one of the tops has loads of fluff on it so will need sellotaping. It is addictive though putting random bids on things Blush

Carlitawantsababy · 04/09/2011 08:32

Wow, congratulations piggy that is fantastic! So pleased for you, it's a pretty amazing experience isn't it?
How's everyone else getting along?

peapop · 04/09/2011 08:39

Hi Ladies!

So lovely to hear about all of your scans! Must be so exciting! Smile

I'm still a bit Shock that I'm actually pregnant as we had agreed not to really try for a while due to stress at work at the moment! It's definitely put things in perspective though! So happy!

We haven't really told anyone yet, finding that quite hard as I'm rubbish at keeping exciting secrets like this ha ha! Telling my folks this afternoon though! Really wanted to tell them yesterday but my sister is staying with them, she has a 3 week old (very cute and cuddly and I literally can't put him down!!) My sister is quite down at the moment so I didn't want to just waltz in there and announce my pregnancy when we're all supposed to be focusing on her.

Hmm I'm liking the idea of these ebay bundles, think a nice lazy sunday morning ebay session is in order!

Davinaaddict · 04/09/2011 20:54

Evening ladies! Thanks for your lovely words! Well am now in my 14th week and starting to feel loads better - yay! Spent yesterday giving our kitchen/dining room a complete clean, for the first time in faaaaar too long. I had to have a nap half way through but a couple of weeks ago, I'd have been lucky to have managed to fill the dishwasher without needing a lie down Grin

Piggy - thanks for the tip on the bio oil. I haven't used it as I find it too greasy but DH has some scars he's uses it on, so might have to send him for some! Fab news about your scan, HB etc - cant wait to see the picture! Am off to ebay later to see what's about before I go ransack the mothercare sale tomorrow Smile

Ghost - yay, more pictures to look forward to! Let us know when you've posted them Smile

Carlita - yes we were very lucky to get such a clear photo. I took a photo pf mine on my phone and then connected it up to my laptop and copied it over (or I was going to bluetooth it). Wow for having to go pee twice! I was really busting for a wee but I didn't get the option until afterwards. Good job my pelvic floor is still in fairly reasonable shape Wink. Great news about an extra scan as well!

Peapop - guess the cliche must be true about not stressing about trying to get pregnant Wink Even if it does make you want to hit anyone that says it to you! I was secretly really glad we got busted so early on as there is no way I'd have been able to wait til last week to tell! Sorry to hear about your sister - hope she is being well looked after.

Hope you've all had a fab weekend!

foolserrand · 05/09/2011 15:29

Hi everyone! Can I please come and join you all? Got my bfp this morning :o

[Offers bob-alcoholic Wine and home made pizza and bunny biscuits]

Davinaaddict · 05/09/2011 16:12

Yay, another graduate!!! Congratulations foolserrand! Welcome to the group - thanks for bringing pizza & wine! Grin. What's your due date?

peapop · 05/09/2011 16:28

Congratulations fools Yey! Grin

Thanks Davina we're quite worried about her to be honest, my mother doesn't think she has bonded with the baby which is why she's so down but at the moment she is refusing to talk about anything other than the labour. She was really unprepared for it so it's all been a tad traumatic for her.

We told my parents last night and had a lovely reaction from them, happy tears and everything then told my sisters and brothers and pretty much the same so it's been wonderful sharing the news! Can't stop smiling Grin

PiggyMad · 05/09/2011 17:50

Hi lovely ladies!
davina have you got any ebay bundles yet Wink??

CONGRATULATIONS fools! great news to have another recruit!
Fools and peapop, when are your due dates?

peapop did your sister take the news ok? Sounds like she's been having a rough time Sad

No news here, although nausea still present and have progressed from yoghurt and banana to copious amounts of coco pops!! On Sat before the scan DH said "are you sure you should be eating those? It might confuse the sonographer" Blush Grin

Also have a bit of an embarrassing question that I'd rather not ask on the pregnancy forum... have really been in the mood for a bit of hanky panky the past week or so but am a bit too nervous to do it Blush I know logically that it is safe, but do you think it would be 'safer' to wait until after 12 weeks?! (please say no!)

PiggyMad · 05/09/2011 18:00

ps have just added very blurry pic of the coco pop!
