Now I know the threads we were in weren't finished, but there were 3 threads for the September due dates, and I thought it would be nice to get everyone together and share their experiences.

Stats thread is here If you aren't on there, then get adding yourself.

Hopefully we can all get through the last stint together :)

I'm due 1st Sept, so one month to go, if the LO is punctual.

Congratulations sewmuchtodo! Glad you're both doing well :) Congratulations to cakes too, so many lovely babies making their grand entrance :)

I'm still here, still contracting every eight minutes but not getting any closer together or lasting any longer and no other symptoms such as a show, etc. I think I slept funny last night too and have a painful leg today but it's a nerve type of pain. If nothing happens tonight I'm going to go to the community MW drop-in clinic in the morning and get checked out, see if they'll do a sweep to try move things along. I can't decide if it's Braxton Hicks or early labour, the not progressing says BH but the regularity (and not going away after a bath/drink/walk) says early labour. I've cheered myself up with a day out with my mam and dad :) DH has finally offered to DtD again to try and help me (gracious of him), if I can work up the energy anyway!

100years, things are sounding hopeful for you. My first contractions with DS were a bit like that before they settled into a pattern.

sebs71 · 08/09/2011 15:24

Wow, haven't checked since this morning and there's loads to catch up on!!

Firstly, Big Congratulations sewtoomuch... excellent news, looking forward to hearing more when you can... enjoy baby cuddles...

TP - have a great weekend at parents, sounds lovely :)

Misty - yay, fellow due date twin - No, no signs or anything. Feeling very jealous of everyone with things to say... I really can't report much, except (TMI) going to the loo to have a clear out more often, iykwim... If you've now lost the plug, hoping this means things will happen soon for you...

ssmile and JoJo- enjoy your rests today...

loomer - glad things sorted with brother. Maybe visit this weekend for the day rather than whole weekend???

Jimmi - hope all gets sorted out re induction / csection. I'm sure it will (let's hope little Jimmi makes appearance before all of that needed??)

CBear and 100Years - wow, you both sound so close now. Really hoping these contractions turn out to be the real thing... 100years-keeping telling her to head South!!!

Sorry if missed anyone...

Had a friend round this morning, and popped out to surgery (courtesy of a lift from my dad) to get iron tablets - extent of my day!! Pleased that my iron count is now above 11... midwife wanted it there before giving birth, so really pleased with that :)

But, getting down with the fact that NOTHING seems to be happening. No show, no waters, no twinges... but to all those close, or with symptoms... you go girls... cheering you on with Pom Poms Grin !!!

loomer · 08/09/2011 16:41

Fantastic news Sewmuch, congratulations! Hope that the weeny one is thriving now after her difficult start. Look forward to hearing about it.

Jimmijam you've had a right old time of it - why oh why can't health professionals just agree between themselves the right course of action or advice, rather than totally bamboozling you with it?! You sounds remarkably philsophical.

100years, {whispers} really hope this is IT starting for you...

Also hoping that the prolonged silence from feral means that it's all going on for her, how exciting Grin

100years · 08/09/2011 18:25

Well that was definitely a contraction! Let's see what the nxt one brings. Managed a 3/4 snooze :) am now in the bath. Hoping the bath doesn't stop it all. But if it's happening after the bath I'll go for it's defo started and I'll be putting the tens on. I'm sorry I'm no wiser over this being the start or not. It's like the biggest build up for something that still might fizzle out!

Jojo1983 · 08/09/2011 19:00

100 Woooohoooooo! Fingers crossed for more contractions.

Minkyjj · 08/09/2011 19:02

Congrats sewmuch - brilliant news. Hope you are okay and that your baby girl gets through her rough start - I had the same with my son but within two days he was fine.
100 years really cheering you on.
I am having contractions too but they are so regular and quite strong - every few minutes so am sure it's more fake labour. Think I will go and have a bath - just saying though a bath doesn't always stop fake labour if it's a grumbling uterus. Hope the ladies with babies have a good night and that the ladies on the edge start to move into real labour. Good luck everyone

jimmijam · 08/09/2011 19:40

Oooh 100 how r things after ur bath? (v. Eagerly awaiting news after haaving the same 'symptoms')
Have any of u had experience of ur waters leaking? Last night after big show every so often id get wet knickers with a little slime in. It stopped late morning so i didnt mention it @ mw appt. But this evening its started again,.put my knickers in the wash and walked round without 4 a bit, didnt get a trickle down my leg just stickiness down the top of my legs. It doesnt smell of anything. Is it worth ringing hospital asap or can it wait til my next mw appt 1st thing monday morning?

100years · 08/09/2011 20:36

Jimmi I reckon u ought to ring hosp just to check. They will know what's best to do. And if it is ur waters you don't want to wait till Monday to find out. Good luck :)

Well the bath hasn't stopped it, but it's still not getting worse. I do however now have the tens machine on the footstool ready for putting it on. I don't think it's stopping (famous last words) but it's not at anywhere near thinking I'm in actual labour if that makes sense. I do seem to have a bit more pressure in my inner parts kind of cervix area.

Minky, ooh let's hope it's the real deal for you :)

OP posts:
Minkyjj · 08/09/2011 21:17

Jimmijam - definitely call the hospital. when my waters went with my daughter it was quite slow but even a bit you can't leave it till Monday. They will ask you questions and be able to assess over the phone and may ask you to come in if it's necessary.
Still having tightenings but no other signs so sure it's just the usual annoying ones! Go ladies !

feralgirl · 08/09/2011 23:35

Well done sewmuch, congrats to you and I will match your baby girl with one of my own! Polly Rose was finally born - after much drama - at 9.20 yesterday morning, weighing in at at 8lbs 10oz

I am typing one handed as DD is currently well and truly latched onto my left boob so I'll regale those of you who want them with the gory details tomorrow. Suffice to say, nothing went to plan, it was all bit grim and I am still trying to get my head around it all Sad But she is gorgeous, healthy and, of course, was totally worth it Grin

Sounds like things are moving on at a great pace for lots of you which is very exciting indeed. Hope to hear more birth announcements tomorrow and here's to a good night's kip for all of us.

cakeismysaviour · 09/09/2011 00:09

Huge congratulations sewmuch and feral on the birth of your daughters!

Sounds like there will be more babies very soon too..... Grin

cakeismysaviour · 09/09/2011 00:15

ps Gorgeous name feral, Polly would have been on my girl names list but DP said no! :(

ssmile · 09/09/2011 01:38

Yeah big congrats feral on Polly, lovely name, sorry to hear the birth wasn't as planned but hopefully all well now. My DD is also chowing down on left boobie as i type :) iove mumsneting to pass the time whilst feeding in between my serious bourbon biscuit habit which I must break Biscuit Biscuit

ssmile · 09/09/2011 03:02

I've started a Sept arrivals stats list in postnatal clubs. Hopefully its ok as was doing at 2am one handed on phone. Do come add yourself as more babes arrive. Maybe 100yrs can post the link if she isn't pushing as I type :o as I can't do that on this phone

hazelnutlatte · 09/09/2011 03:08

Hello, congratulations to sewmuch and feralgirl!
Well I'm awake at this hour because my waters have broken!
No contractions yet but I'm far too nervous and excited to go back to sleep, although I'm sure sleep is what I very much need at the moment.
Up until now had had no signs that labour was imminent - am 38 weeks, had no braxton hicks, no show, and not been eating curry or pineapple! Also what happened to the nesting instinct we are supposed to get - house is a tip!
Called the hospital, they said to go in in the morning to be checked if still no contractions - then they will book me in for induction 24 hrs later - so whatever happens this baby will be arriving before it's due date!

100years · 09/09/2011 05:43

Have been to the hosp, am 3 cm and having contractions, as I'm coping with them they've said I can go home so I'm home and going to watch DVD while trying to rest and willing my cervix to dilate more. Am in early labour. Let's hope it's not a long early labour and that I'm going to get a move on. :)

Misty9 · 09/09/2011 06:01

Morning!
Woohoo - 100years !!! and hazelnut

Congrats sewmuch and feralgirl

Well, hopefully will be joining you - after sitting cooped up in house all day yesterday I thought, sod this we're getting dressed up and going out for dinner. Went to our favourite pub restaurant and after a lovely meal got up to leave and...my waters broke in spectacular fashion! Many wads of tissue, a drive home and many mat pads later, they're still trickling out.
Drama in the form of blowing the pool up at 10pm last night only to discover, yes, a puncture Shock. Frantic phonecalls to hire company and borrowing of gaffer tape from next door (!) and they decided to drive out with a replacement.

So, pool is up, had some contractions last night then went to bed and it's all slowed down.... Any tips for getting labour going once waters have gone? :)

A few babies by the weekend me thinks!
Good luck all :)

100years · 09/09/2011 06:34

Yay Misty :) brill stuff. How many babies are going to arrive today????

OP posts:
Conkertree · 09/09/2011 07:00

Oh how exciting.

Congrats to sewtoomuch and feralgirl - sorry the birth wasnt quite as planned. Hope you get to talk to someone about it cause I know these things can linger unless you get them out of your system, even with a great ending like little Polly.

100years - pom pom are being shaken for you. Hope that DVD did the trick and early labour isnt too prolonged.

Misty - Yay for waters going. You get the prize for the best public waters going story so far I think. Some say keep active to get contractions going, some say conserve your energy. I went with walking about with ds1 and they did get going eventually.

Hazelnutlatte - yay for you too. Anything more happen overnight? Sounds like you will have your baby very soon.

Ssmile - good to see you are still able to stay awake while feeding to post in the middle of the night. Is she still doing long stretches overnight?

Wonder if cbear and jimmijam have any more news? And minkyjj - did those contractions turn regular?

Sebs- cup of tea while we watch the others contract away? Have a midwife appointment today - thats the extent of my excitement. But also have a kilt day while dh has the boys, so am very much looking forward to that, although I suspect dh will sleep in till after 9, so we'll see how long it take for him to actually start looking after them.

Anyway, great to see it all hotting up after a slow start to the September babies.

Misty9 · 09/09/2011 07:05

Spoke to hospital and have to go in and get checked at 9am - then will be booked for induction if no labour by tomorrow morning :(
Come on baby - the pool is waiting! :)

Bouncing on ball as I type and will get walking around I think later...
has your labour started hazelnut??

AmandaCooper · 09/09/2011 07:06

My goodness this is surely the most exciting thread in the world!! Good luck to everybody!!!

ssmile · 09/09/2011 07:35

Ooh its like buses none come then 3coming at once :o my pom poms are ago go. Alas that's all that's a gogo this morn. Bad night with babe who would not settle 1am-5.30am and my DH just left for work leaving me with both DD today not sure we will get through the day on 3hrs broken sleep but Ho hum and DD1 primary school teacher coming to visit later so got to fluff the house too!

tiddleypompom · 09/09/2011 08:10

Oh my goodness, what a night! Congratulations to feral and to
Sewmuch - fabulous news on the safe arrival of your beautiful daughters!
And waters breaking everywhere, how exciting! I have had to explain to my mum what is going on as I squealed when I read the posts - now she too is asking for updates! On phone so rubbish typist, but safe to say I am here joining conker, sebs, jojo and others on sidelines for a good cheer!
Good luck for your labours :o

jimmijam · 09/09/2011 08:18

Ooh how exciting!!! Good luck 2 all in the early stages of labour!!!
I got wokwn up in the night by a pretty painful contraction followed by lots of period/ old cs scar psin, but soon fell asleep again and that was it :-(
going 2 attempt a walk to town this am with ds and dh while dd at school 4 a hot choc :-) lets wiggle baby down (yesterday was only 3/5engaged)
Hoping that was 1 of very few sleepless nights ssmile & that u manage 2 catch up with a bit of shut eye 2day. With our ds i was a complete mess most days, he would only sleepb4 a sort time and only in our bed with the light on!
Dd was an angel tho :-)

sebs71 · 09/09/2011 08:39

Thanks for the tea, Conker, and yes, come join us TP, Jojo and others and bring the biscuits!!

Wow what a night! Congratulations Sewtoomuch and Feral. Gorgeous name, Feral, but sorry to hear of traumatic birth. Hoping all ok now and you do get it sorted in your head... I'm sure Polly cuddles will help.

Minky, 100years, Hazelnut and Misty - Pom poms are frantically shaking in excitement and encouragement!! Misty - that us a very impressive waters breaking story...!! Here's hoping the other thread gets busy today / this weekend.

Conker- we've got similar days then - nothing to report as happening but have got midwife coming here to do a sweep at 11. Will be more interested in finding out if anything happening with the ol' cervix or if gate still firmly shut :( DSD was annoyed she lost a bet ... Had said I'd go wednesday! Wasn't as annoyed as me though! Still to all those past their due dates we can take comfort in that our uterus must be a cosy place to hang out!!

To whoever asked about midwife home visits, all mine have been surgery but she's coming here today as its a sweep and think because I'm passed EDD.

Maybe I'll go tomorrow night- Strictly back on and I'm a huge fan and want to see start... Maybe LO will have other plans!!!

Good luck all... Will check in lots today, hoping for exciting news from the herd!!! X
