Now I know the threads we were in weren't finished, but there were 3 threads for the September due dates, and I thought it would be nice to get everyone together and share their experiences.

Stats thread is here If you aren't on there, then get adding yourself.

Hopefully we can all get through the last stint together :)

I'm due 1st Sept, so one month to go, if the LO is punctual.

Plus...

Cbear - any news? Hope you ok?

Jimmi - hope walk does the trick. Did you phone hospital re your possible waters leaking?

loomer · 09/09/2011 08:58

Wow, congratulations feral! Really pleased to hear that you have a gorgeous daughter, but sorry to hear that it was traumatic. Hope that Polly gets the hang of all the other baby stuff (latching on, sleeping etc.) with less stress for you.

I'm waving pom-poms too for everyone who is now teetering on the brink, and enjoying being on the sidelines at the moment... come on you babies!

Have a very quiet day planned today - probably waddle into town to get some groceries, once I've conjured up a dish to make from beef mince and left over white sauce (yeah, probably lasagne I guess!).

DH persuaded me not to go up visiting this weekend... he thinks that it's too close to EDD, and if I did happen to go into labour it is quite likely that it'd all happen far too quickly for us to get back home and into the pool for a HB... and I'd be gutted. He's right of course!

Am going to be glued to this thread all weekend now instead Grin

MrsSawyer · 09/09/2011 09:18

INDUCTION DAY TODAY!!!! Oh my god, im bricking it, but shall hopefully return shortly with news - send me good and quick labour vibes please?

Congrats to feral and good luck to Annie too x

Conkertree · 09/09/2011 09:27

Good luck mrssawyer. Hope its as realxed as it can be.

Loomer - sounds sensible to stay at home. Dont know about you but I dont feel at my most sociable just now anyway - feel like I want to hide in my cave a wee bit. Pull up a chair and settle in for some spectating with us.

I'm a bit like you, in that I am not too desperate for the baby to appear in the next few days at least - am just also not wanting it to drag on to the start of Octobef if it can be helped.

Envy of the sweep sebs though - much as I just said I am not desperate for te baby to appear just yet, it would be lovely to know if all these tightenings etc are moving things in the right direction. But not 39 weeks till Sunday so I highly doubt that the mw will do any more than just the usual blood pressure checks etc.

Annie456 · 09/09/2011 09:56

Congrats on the new arrivals and good luck to those in labour! What a busy day it's turning out to be!
Induction day for me too..also bricking MrsS...can't believe we're going to leave the house as 2 and come back as 3...seems like so much has to happen before then! Been having contractions every 15 mins since I woke up so will see how they progress before I call the hospital as knowing me they'll stop!
X

sebs71 · 09/09/2011 10:00

Good labour vibes to mrssawyer!! Hope all goes well and swiftly!! Another to add to the next thread perhaps???

And yes hope all ok Annie, any news?

Ssmile hope things settle - looks like you and your fellow sept mums will be getting company on that new thread soon!!

Conker - don't think I'd have wanted a sweep at 39 weeks ... From their descriptions don't think I want one today!! But needs must and at 40+4 hoping it will get things going! Like I said, really curious about whether I'm the slightest bit dilated which she'll be able to tell me. Not sure how I'll feel if I'm not remotely dilated though.

But it's so nice to have the company on here during all this waiting... Enjoying the tea and biscuits with you and our group of onlookers!!

Loomer - yes I'd be inclined to stay put, certainly don't fancy going far from home or hospital. Hopefully you'll see brother and SIL soon with new baby in your arms!!

sebs71 · 09/09/2011 10:03

Just missed your post Annie ... Good luck - with those contractions perhaps you won't need inducing today?? Good labour vibes your way!!

Wow, my arms are tiring with all this Pom Pom waving Grin

Louplet · 09/09/2011 10:43

Congraulations sewmuch and feral. Enjoy your new LOs.

Much cheering on for those in early labour Smile

40+3 here so have in my head that something may happen today as it did for DS2 but not much sign yet. I do have a history of fast labour though so no doubt all will go to red alert v quickly once it starts!

Looking forward to more baby news soon Smile

Jojo1983 · 09/09/2011 10:59

Cant believe how much has happened and all because i wasn't awake every hour last night to check on here!
Feral Congratulations a lovely name for ur lovely girl!
To everyone in early labour/waters broke good luck will be thinking of you all today and will be checking this thread more than normal!

Im off to the midwives this afternoon then gotta get up to London as my OH is doing a sponsored abseil down one of the hospitals that saved his life earlier this year. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

Off to pop kettle on for my morning tea and chocolate biscuits.

CBear6 · 09/09/2011 11:28

Good luck MrsSawyer and Annie, hoping to read your birth announcements soon! A safe and speedy delivery to you both. I know she's probably not able to read this but hopefully 100years is progressing well and will have news soon :)

Congratulations Feral, Polly is a lovely name. Sorry your delivery wasn't ideal but what a wonderful end result in your little girl.

I'm still here. Contractions have stopped (boo!) so I decided not to go to the MW drop-in, I'm feeling philosophical about it now. She's got three days including today until D-Day and I've got a sweep scheduled Monday anyway.

Hope everyone is having a good day, everything is getting busy busy busy! x

sebs71 · 09/09/2011 12:12

JoJo - Good luck to your OH... that's a brave thing to do. Have a good weekend in London.

And, CBear, sorry contractions have stopped... but hopefully sweep on Monday will get things going again.

Midwife just been... just had a sweep (wooh, felt like she was tickling my tonsils...!!) She doesn't think anything will happen as a result though :( She did get through and touched the head, which is good, but cervix still think and long. She told me to be active for next hour, and go for a walk... only thing there's nowhere to go only hills, so I'm bouncing on the gym ball instead (which she said was also good).

She also booked an induction for next Thursday - but I'd have to go in at 9pm! God, I hope it doesn't come to that :( The midwife on labour ward was relieved when my midwife said she was phoning re an induction - it sounds very busy in the hospital at the moment ... yikes!

Next sweep next Tuesday... unless of course things happen before then... but, not hopeful... (although she did say back waters could go and that would bring on labour... think she felt sorry for me and was trying to give me hope!)

So, the wait continues... keep the tea and biscuits coming!

Hope all those have contractions are doing well... please more good news!!!

hazelnutlatte · 09/09/2011 12:17

Hi everyone, well after waters breaking drama last night..... Nothing is happening! Got a bit of backache but had nothing even vaguely resembling a contraction!
Went into hospital this morning to get checked over, if I don't go into labour by tomorrow then I will be induced then, so hoping things get moving quickly as I really don't want to be induced.
The midwife said it must have been a full moon last night - they had 4 people ringing up overnight with waters broken - and with all the activity on this thread it looks like labour wards are going to be very busy for the next few days!
Misty - your waters broke in far more spectacular fashion than mine, I was in bed and felt a gush and ran for the loo! Think that pub should give you free drinks from now on.

Minkyjj · 09/09/2011 13:21

Well done feral and all the other ladies who are in exiting times - I read all your posts but my memory is like a sieve and I am on my phone - so forgive lack of individual response.
Nothing happening with me. Had contractions all evening and night but same old pattern as last eight weeks. Only five nights now before csection so not long for me to wait but would be exciting to have something happen soonerWink.
Looking forward to hearing more exciting news through the day, good luck to everyone about to go...

Misty9 · 09/09/2011 14:16

Hi all

Feeling a bit down as went into hospital to get checked only to be told it's my hindwaters which have gone and cervix is still posterior and she reckoned 1cm thick. Due to this his head is positioned in wrong place to kick-start labour and she thinks it very unlikely I'll go on my own :(
Booked for induction at 8am tomorrow and no choice but to have synto drip in my hospital. Trying to think positive - and bouncing on ball to try and get him into position. No contractions and just crampy pain from the very efficient stretch and sweep the mw did at hospital. Back home and the birth pool is staring at me! Interestingly, my mum said I was the exact same - waters broke, no labour and had to be induced. But I appeared in 2hrs following induction Shock so here's hoping for a repeat of that pattern!

MrsS and Annie - will be VERY interested to hear how induction goes for you guys.

100years - any news??

Good labour vibes to all waiting :) x

cakeismysaviour · 09/09/2011 14:36

So excited to hear about all the ladies in early labour and/or booked in for inductions! I reckon ssmile is spot on about all the buses arriving at once, I bet you all have your babies on the exact same day!! Grin

Cheering you all on from the other side!

BumpyHeffalumpy · 09/09/2011 15:22

Sewmuch and Feralgirl congratulations on your new DDs. I'm looking forward to reading your stories if you'd like to share them. Just a short post from me as I'm going to try and have a nap now. Sending positive labour vibes to all who are on the verge of popping!

CBear6 · 09/09/2011 16:16

You never know Misty, the MW thinks it's unlikely you'll go on your own but they're not always right. Sending lots of spontaneous labour vibes your way! And if not then at least you know the end is in sight. Same to you too Hazelnut, you're almost there!

Sebs, sign me up for some tea and biscuits. I feel like I'm going to be here forever. With DS I had a show on the Friday, went into labour that night, and delivered on the Sunday on his due date. My due day this time is a Sunday again (this coming Sunday) so some small part of me was expecting a show today and for things to kick off tonight. I know every pregnancy is different but can't help feel a little disappointed that I didn't get my show today and, as a result, won't deliver by Sunday (even though due dates are estimates and she'll come when she's ready, etc). I have now got a raging case of the hormonal wobbles that I'm soothing with a Sherbert Fountain and a glass of milk :)

Hope all went well at the MW Jojo and that you hav a good time in London.

100years · 09/09/2011 17:59

Hello. Would like to introduce baby Edith born at 13:36, weighing 6lb9oz. :) all doing well if a little tired! Xx

Gas and air and tens :)

sebs71 · 09/09/2011 18:06

Hazelnut and Misty - good luck and hope you both manage to go on your own, but if not, it's good your inductions booked for tomorrow ... sending good labour vibes your way :)

CBear - yes, come join us for tea and biscuits!!! Not everyone has a show, so you never know, you still could go Sunday! It could just be different to your DS1. But, there's a few of us waiting on the sidelines, so you're not on your own.

Well, nothing happened this afternoon after sweep this morning ... just a little brown on wiping, but that's probably more re the sweep rather than the plug. Had major braxton hicks for about a couple of hours - but mine feel more "constant" than on and off, and it's relaxed now. So, don't think sweep has done anything this time. Maybe Tuesday's will have more luck (or maybe, just maybe, she'll decide she wants to come out before then!!)

Still, OH has gone for a chinese takeaway :) And, it's finally the weekend which means he can do a bit of pampering!!

All gone quiet from a few of you, just hoping this is a good sign, and there'll be some news by the morning!!!

Have a good Friday evening everyone - and to those in the throws - PUSH - and a big Pom Pom wave - and to those awaiting inductions this weekend - hope you manage to relax tonight... and a big Pom Pom wave to you for the weekend!!

sebs71 · 09/09/2011 18:09

YAY!!! Sorry, just missed your post 100years... BIG Congratulations on little Edith - and impressive with just TENS and gas/air... well done!!! Look forward to hearing all about it when you're good and ready, but in the meantime, enjoy those cuddles!! :) Lovely news...

AmandaCooper · 09/09/2011 18:16

Woooooooooooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

Conkertree · 09/09/2011 18:24

Great news 100years. Congratulations.

Good luck to all those having inductions over the weekend - almost need a supplementary list of what stage everyone is at to keep track of it all.

Had mw today and she reckons the head is now engaged, although possibly back to back cause it took an age to find the heart beat, although she could feel it wriggling so knew it was fine. Booked for a sweep on 19th (day after due date) and induction on 30th, so I guess its good to be in the system, but hopefully wont be that long. Not exciting on the same scale as those of you contracting away, but I was pleased to just feel a bit closer to the final hurdle.

Off to bounce on that ball again and scrub some floors to see if it will still turn.

Jojo1983 · 09/09/2011 19:22

Wooohoooo Congratulations 100!

Had MW blood pressure was high but lowered a bit by end of appointment but been told to rest and if feel ill to go straight to hospital. JOY! Baby is still head down but not yet engaged (Gutted)
Managed to get to OH Abseil on time well they waited for me as I was on route to them he done so well raising over £1000 for the hospitals. As i live in London i'm now back home with my feet up about to tuck into a giant jar of chocolate spread with some breadsticks (cause baby wants them lol)
Hope everyone is doing well and keep pushing!

Minkyjj · 09/09/2011 19:55

That's great jojo - you must be proud of your other half.
Huge congrats to 100 years - that was good work in the end but I bet it felt like an age for you while you went through it !
Misty - thinking of you and sending positive vibes hope it goes well tomorrow and also for anyone else going through it tomorrow.
I am counting down the full days now - only 4 full days left now for me.
I wonder how many more babies we are still awaiting - starting to feel like a late comer now !

ssmile · 09/09/2011 20:43

Big congrats 100yrs hope u have lots lovely cuddles with Edith :)
