Thats great Button Smile

I think isla loves being snuggled in her cc she didn't like it in cot but with carrycot inside cot she sleeps fab. all she does is eat and sleep...but then again she is four days old!

inbetweener · 24/07/2011 19:52

Evening all,
Still here, still overdue.
Im beginning to freak myself out though and wanted some advice from tose of you who have litteraly just given birth.

Im 40+4 today and for the last two weeks or so have had to change my underwear throughout the day. I get a lot of yellow discharge that increases when I move around, walk a lot or baby moves. Well now im wondering if it could be my waters slowly trickling ? Or is that TOO slow ?

Plus DH and I DTD last night and I now have a stinging, almost UTI like pain in my bits, along with a LOT of pressure when I stand. My actual bump hurts too.
I have been having daily long soaks in the bath and am wondering if my waters are tricking, and now I have an infection of some kind or that things are starting ? Its been 7 years since I was in labour and I thought I could remember but I havent had a single similar symptom this time round.

Aghhhhhhhhhh I am so fed up I could cry. I havent an apt till thursday and if I phone the MW's ( who I havent seen for 5 weeks !) they will tell me to go delivery suite and get checked by triage wont they ?

Im so down, I just want my baby out now Sad

Hi all. Finally gave birth to my gorgeous 2nd boy Louis at 5.45am yesterday. 13 days late, 8lb 11oz and forceps delivery but definitely worth every painful contraction.

Birth took 28 hours from start of contractions. Was very slow start and took 22 hours just to get to 3cm! (DS1 only took 4 hours to get to 5cm) and also had problems with the hearbeat. Strapped to the bed constantly and in lots of pain. Had epidural just before they started the drip to increase contractions, didn't work well and still had lots of pain on my right side. Wasn't very confident with doc when i saw the word trainee on his badge!!Got to 9cm in the next 3 hours and once fully dialated I had an hour of trying to push without success. Doc decides that they are going to try the forceps in the theatre and if that doesn't work then it will be csection. Told them that I didn't want another top up for my epidural as none of them had worked, so had a spinal and was then finally out of pain. Very strange trying to push when you can't feel your bum! Was cut and had a tear so quite tender now but all worth it as he is a gorgeous boy. Latched on the breast straight away and even though it takes about 1hr at the mo to fill him up, he then sleeps for 4 hours! Hopefully will take less once my milk comes in properly.

Contratulations to Jimmy and any other new arrivals x

Eglu · 24/07/2011 20:32

Congrats Scarthy and Linzi.

Took the boys to see Cars 2 today. Lily behaved herself, good old Moby wrap for snuggling in.

She also put on 10oz this week. Big bruiser.

cara2244 · 24/07/2011 20:58

Eglu I really want to take my son and baby to see Cars 2 but OH says it will be too noisy!! I take it your little one was ok?

Congratulations scarthy and Linzi.

Inbetweener maybe call the labour suite if you're worried? Hope it all starts for you soon.

Well the babymoon is sadly over here. OH is doing my head in expecting everything to be normal. He moaned at me earlier as I wasn't ready in time for us to all go out to our favourite kid friendly pub. Grrr. I wish he realised what it is like looking after and feeding Hannah! He isn't a baby person so he leaves most of it to me, although he is doing a lot more to look after DS which helps of course. Hannah will be four weeks tomorrow! I don't know where the time has gone!

cara2244 · 24/07/2011 21:00

Just re-read.10oz!! That's brilliant!! An excuse to buy new clothes....and these girl's clothes are gorgeous! I had a little spree on Saturday.

Eglu · 24/07/2011 21:04

Cara it wasn't as noisy as I expected, but they do have weekday morning showings that are babby friendly at most cinemas. They are quieter and the lights aren't as low. So you could try teat.

nicolamumof3 · 24/07/2011 21:50

inbetweener...waters trickling are very distinct from discharge I had just this on Tuesday. My hind waters went and trickled, it was just like water basically. hth. Sorry you are feeling so crap. I felt ok in the last few days as i Knew one way or the other i would be having my baby very soon. So i really perked up from just before my dd. I gave birth at 40+4

Must do my birth story actually as it was the most drawn out and indecisive yet!!

we will do cars2 at some point in the hols, im rather looking forward to it myself.. Will either take dd or my mum will have her.

nicolamumof3 · 24/07/2011 21:53

Sorry hadn't quite finished there.

Am in agony with my boobs, first time not bf in the early days, milk came in yday and they are huge and sore and goodness knows when they'll be back to normal am having to take nurofen the pain is so bad they don't even fit in my largest bra properly Grin

Isla has been unsettled the last two evenings but in the three nights we've been home she's slept well the last two so fingers crossed tonight will as well. Dh just feeding her now and she's had extra milk this evening so fingers crossed if i can get 3hrs straight before next feed will be pleased!

Eglu · 24/07/2011 21:56

Nicola I was as excited as the boys to see Cars 2. Grin

As for the sore boobs it shouldn't last much longer than about 48 hours.

nicolamumof3 · 24/07/2011 22:07

Thank goodness! I've always fed at this stage before so its bloody uncomfortable on day two now, hope its better tomorrow as its uncomfortable to lift or carry atm! I was enjoying feeling fitter/back to normal but feel awful today.

Lynzilove · 24/07/2011 22:17

Feeding for an hour? Chance would be a fine thing most we've managed is 45 mins. Slept from midnight til 4 then through til 10. Has slept most of the day. Can't interest him in feeding if he's asleep.
Midwife told me off for letting him go so long?! Not sure how to make him wake up if he doesn't want to?? Trying to encourage him on a nice long feed now to get a few straight hours again.

JimmyChoo17 · 25/07/2011 04:33

Back!
My epidural for induced labour or my top up used once I went in for emergency c section.

Anyone ever suffered back, neck, head pain after?

The main fix isdoing still is that your bro is tall!!!

OP posts:
Lynzilove · 25/07/2011 05:33

Hope everything's ok? Worried as your post is a bit of a garble.

I ached all over once epi and painkillers wore off.

LadyGoneGaga · 25/07/2011 07:38

My little girl Iris was born at 10.58 last night after being induced on her due date. They put Pessary in at 9am, nothing much happened for most of the day until they broke my waters at 7pm. Contractions picked up big time then, 20 mins pushing. Hard work to get out as she was 9lb 8oz and had her elbow up by her face. But managed on gas and air and small second degree tear. Not too bad. She's so beautiful with full head of hair.

Best of luck to everyone still waiting.

nicolamumof3 · 25/07/2011 07:48

Jimmy hope you're ok?

LadyGG thats fab news, congratulations, beautiful name. and fab weight. Well done on G&A! I had pessary too and was full on pain from word go x

inbetweener · 25/07/2011 08:53

Morning all,
Im still here. 40+5 and now more pg then ive ever been !
nicola thanks for the advice re waters. I think your right, I think its just a gross amount of discharge. Still have the shooting pains in my groin though, very UTI like so not sure whether to go and get my urine tested by GP.

jimmy hope your ok ? You dont sound like things have gone so well ?

ladygg CONGRATS !! and lovely name x

Glad all the new babies are settling and gaining weight well. Im hoping to BF this time so will be after some tips Grin

So day one of the holidays and the girls are bored already. I knew it would happen. I have got so used to dropping them at school, coming back for my long soak and pottering/cleaning/nesting I am at a loss today !!

Not much movement from bump today either although I have checked with my Boots heart listener thingy and can hear it booming away in there. My hips are agony today and every step is sending a shooting pain in my neither-regions !!
I know I should relax and think he will come soon but I just cant. Im soooo unconmfy and it seems like everyones babies are popping out except mine lol. Another forum I belong to seems to have a about 5 BA's a day at the mo !!!

Right better go and..........I havent a clue actually. Hobble around clutching myself I spose Sad

HighFibreDiet · 25/07/2011 11:07

oh inbetweener I really feel for you, do you think the midwives would help if you took yourself into a day assessment unit? jimmy hope you are okay?

sorry here's another birth announcement:
baby girl born at home 7.03 pm Friday evening (that's 10.03 am London time) 3.9 kg (I think that's 8lb 9 1/2 oz), covered in vernix, very healthy and my milk has come in already so no concerns about hypoglycaemia either.

Just like Nicola I am not appreciating the sore nipples but hoping they will go soon.

Had forgotten just how painful labour could be but also had forgotten some nice things about newborns, like all the little noises they make. :)

Dh is being great and really letting me have a good 'babymoon'. I am occasionally having to bite my tongue as he doesn't do things the same way as me, and flies off his rag with the boys about twice as often as I do, which is not pleasant to listen to. But I am trying to focus on resting and looking after the little one. Have missed being in UK with all my friends and family around but at least one good point is that the boys have only just gone back to school for Term 3 so I don't have to deal with a summer holiday with 3 boys and a newborn.

SpannerPants · 25/07/2011 11:24

Congratulations LadyGoneGaga - LOVE the name! I would have liked Iris if Henry had been a girl (but I think DP would have vetoed it :( )

Hope you're ok Jimmy - sounds like you haven't had much luck!

Well done HighFibreDiet - sounds like a lovely birth and a cracking weight :)

Hang in there Inbetweener and all the other ladies yet to pop - I hope you're resting because believe me I wish I had slept more beforehand!

Henry is being very good, feeding well and sleeping for 3hr spells at night. My stitches are finally feeling comfortable so I can sit down without wincing Grin. We went out for Sunday lunch yesterday then took him out for a walk in the pushchair last night which felt very strange - I still can't believe he's here! I'm really not looking forward to DP going back to work on Thursday though :(

buttonmoon78 · 25/07/2011 14:52

Congrats and welcome to new babies!

Hope you're ok jimmy

Been to register S today, now filling in forms for child benefit & passport. Also just heard from hmrc - getting full amount of Maternity Allowance - which is great!

I thought I was in for a bad night last night. S fed for the whole evening. Finally I took him to bed and fed him there about 11.30. He next woke at 4am for a feed and then 7am! And bause he's happy feeding lying down it's just a question of changing sides and then latching on so happy days!

Want2bSupermum · 25/07/2011 18:52

Just checking in. Anna will be 3 weeks on Wednesday and I can't believe how time has flown. The weather here is hot and it was 112F outside the bank on Saturday. We had a quick thunderstorm and the temps are lower today at 97F.

We are having some problems still with Anna. We have her on the 4hr feeding schedule as per the dr. She is very cranky and tends to sleep in small bursts. She is also peeing a lot. Yesterday we went through more than 30 diapers so I called my best friends mum who told me to coat her neither regions with vasaline. It is almost 2pm and we are on diaper 5 so this is a huge improvement. Any ideas on what could be causing crankyness? It was happening in the evening but today it has been all day. I rock her to sleep, put her down and then 10mins later she starts crying again. Last night I was rocking her between 10.30pm-2am.

PrincessJenga · 25/07/2011 19:10

Can I join those of you waiting for LO to arrive? I'm 39+5 and already getting impatient. I want a July baby, not an August one! No definite signs yet, but some dull cramping for the last few days and I was violently sick last night (not sure if that's a symptom or not!)

hefner · 25/07/2011 21:22

Just wanted to let you know that my baby girl was born at 8.09 on 18/7/11. She weighed 7lb 12oz and we're both doing well. We had to stay in hospital for a few days because she wasn't feeding but we're home now. Feeding is still a bit of a nightmare at the moment but I'm hoping it will get easier. We're all tired but very happy!

Haven't had chance to catch up properly on the thread, but congratulations to all the other new mums.

nicolamumof3 · 25/07/2011 21:35

evening all, had a lovely lovely day today, we went to the seaside! Was wondering if a bit early to do a 'day trip' as dd only 5 days old but last day of paternity leave for dh and wanted to do something for boys. We had a fab time. Didn't really know isla was there as she's just so so good. Long may it last. Another good night last night, she woke at 12.30am and did take ages to settle after feed. But then went 2am-7.30am. She's content in day and still at that feed/sleep stage I know can quickly change!
